Importing music for the ipod touch

My itunes library somehow has been deleted, however my ipod still has all of its songs. When I plug in my ipod it says that this is not my library, and wants to sync. If it does this I will lose all of my songs. Is there a way that I can take the songs from my ipod and put it back into my library

If you have purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store, then those are pretty easy to transfer to your computer. You'll just need to follow [this instructions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465].
All your other songs (for example, those ripped from your CD's), you'll need to use any 3rd party program to transfer them to your iTunes library!
Some can also transfer your playlists, videos, ratings, podcast...

I would recommend you to keep your media safe, backing up library. Click [here|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302392] to learn how to do it, using CD's or DVD's.

All iTunes content on your iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and your iTunes library on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only.
When music was purchased on a CD, if the CD was lost and you returned to the store where the CD was purchased with your receipt, were you given a replacement CD?

Thanks for your prompt response, however I have first seen it now. I have placed an active SIM card in the iPhone turned it off and on. It now says SIM locked, please write access code. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas? Looking for a leather case for the ipod Touch 4G

I'm looking for a real *GENUINE LEATHER* case for the iPod Touch 4G, preferably one that has a belt clip.
I just wasted $34 on the new Belkin "genuine leather case with belt clip" only to find out it smelled like rubber and felt nothing like what real leather would feel/smell like. Totally disappointed in Belkin advertising their cases as genuine leather when in fact they are made of cheap synthetic leather.

You can right click your video file, go to "Get Info", and select the Video tab and change the file type to Movie, TV Show, or Music Video, and then once that video is synced to the iPod it will be sorted into the proper location.
You can also create playlists of your video content. That would be the easiest/best way to get your genre classification system going.

You didn't need MobileMe for your iPhone either, per se. What was it about the service that caused you to sign up? Was it the "Find My iPhone" service? If so, that would still be perhaps useful for the iPod touch, though since the iPod has no GPS locations may be less accurate.

All have worked without any special configuration for the ipt.
Actually, I don't really think their is a better router, every network I have connected to worked, absolutly no trouble at all.
Btw- this message came from an 1.1.3 ipt via a netgear wireless connection.
