Importing orf files in Photoshop 10

every time I try to import .orf files from my Olympus E-PL5 into PS10 it says that it doesn't recognize the file. I don't know how to fix it. PS10 says there are no updates available and that it supports .orf files but it doesn't work. I'm using Windows 7
HELP PLEASE

I mean ORF files. Found out after some reading it's due to the version PS10. Converted files to .DNG and then it can be imported. Thanks

  • When importing RAW files in Photoshop why does camera raw 8.6 only import 1 size?

When importing RAW files in Photoshop why does camera raw 8.6 only import 1 size from canon 5d mark iii, in older versions I used to be able to import the files as larger images. It use to have a number of options for the images size. The option now is smaller than the maximum size used to be.

You know what - I'm sorry
I'd had a crazy long all-nighter session sorting out images for a client, then decided - when I should have simply gone to bed - to set up the new photoshop. At the very start I made a silly mistake, tried to sort it out then decided to call it a day, responding to your remarks with the problem still in my head but feeling more and more tired.
Responded again to your comment earlier with the problem still in my head but not in front of me on the screen - however with a fresh head I just turned it all on, opened up PS and today could instantly see what was going on - Oops!
Thank you for being patient with a sleep deprived photographer who must have been getting annoying yesterday
    I am officially embarrassed

Without knowing anything about your system, your image file, your working document and so on nobody can even begin to guess. The file could be damaged, there could be color management issues at play and what have you...

  • Can't open orf files in Photoshop CS5 with latest updates.

    Hi folks,
I have a user having trouble opening orf files. When the problem was first brought to my attention we couldn't open nef files either. I installed the Adobe Camera Raw plugin and then the nef files could be opened but not the orf files.
Does anyone know why this would be and what can be done to fix the problem?
Thanks for any help you can give.

It may be that the camera is not supported by the camera raw 6.7 plugin for photoshop cs5.
(camera raw 6.7 is the newest camera raw plugin supported by photoshop cs5)
Is camera raw 6.7 the plugin you installed?

You can look at this list and see if it is

If the camera(s) are not supported by 6.7, then you can use the 8.7 dng converter to convert the files to dng copies, which photoshop cs5 should then be able to open.

  • Issue importing a file into photoshop elements 11

I am new to Photoshop Elements 11. I am just playing around with it right now to get used to it since I've never worked with the program before. I am importing files from iphoto and it is working fine except for one thing. I imported a group of photos and while I was playing around in Elements (basically to get used to naming folders/albums/moving things around/etc) I deleted the folder I had imported, more or less to see what happens, and now when I try to import the same file into Elements again, it tells me that "the file selected to import did not contain supported file types or the files are already in this catalog." I cannot find these pictures anywhere within my catalog, so why will it not let me import them a second time? I have looked all over online for an answer to this and have come up empty handed. If someone knows how I can get this group of pictures into Elements, please let me know! I'd like to start practicing with the editing options but need these pictures in the program first. (I did also create an album from the file I imported, again to practice moving things around within Elements, and when I deleted the Folder the Album went away too.) I am still able to import other files from iphoto, it is just that this one particular file will not transfer....is it because I deleted it and now it somehow does not recognize the file??

    Welcome to the forum.
As you have reposted to the Photoshop Elements Forum, where you will get quick and expert help, I will Lock this thread, and all discussion can take place in the Ps Elements Forum.
    Good luck,

  • Trouble importing ORF files from E-PL5 into LR5.3

Hello, A small percentage of the RAW files from my Olympus E-PL5 look "blurry" or "out of focus" when viewed using LR5.3 (Windows 8.1).  However, most of the RAW files from this camera look fine when viewed in LR (even pictures from the same shooting session).  When I view the "blurry" files using Olympus Viewer 2, they no longer look out of focus.  I can then edit these files using viewer 2 with no difficulties.  Does anyone have an idea as to what I am doing wrong?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I mean ORF files. Found out after some reading it's due to the version PS10. Converted files to .DNG and then it can be imported. Thanks

  • Problem loading .orf files into photoshop

I have CC on both an iMac and a MacBook Pro
.orf files will load into photoshop on the iMac but not on the MacBook Pro.  A popup appears which states need to update for latest RAW files.  I have run and installed the latest update but without success.  Since updating I've tried switching off and back on but with no success.
    What do I do next?

    Thanks partial success
ACR was 8.3.  I've uploaded version 8.6 using the link provided and now able to read files into photoshop but
    1. Mini bridge does not show thumbnails only a place holder with no image
    2. The version on the iMac is 8.4 which I will also update but on both computers clicking on product update on Apple menu did not show the latest ACR update.  How can I arrange for auto updates without continually checking using the above link whether an update is available.

  • Importing RAW files into Photoshop CC

Since I've updated my Photoshop CC to version 14 I've one problem.
After I did import my files into Adobe RAW and after I finetuned in Adobe RAW I want to improve my details into Photoshop CC.
BUT: after I have ordered Adobe RAW tot opent he files into PS nothing hasppens, PS does not react.
I only can save the file to e.g. TIFF or DNG files and after that I can open the files in Photoshop.
    That's awefull!
    Any solution??
    with kind regards
    Plomp G.W.

PS CC 2014 is the current version.  PS CC 14.2.1 is the previous version.
What OS are you running:  Windows 8.1, Mavericks 10.9.3 or something else?
The general advice would be to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop.

  • How can I import svg files into photoshop?

I am trying to import some svg files into photoshop shapes, how is that done?

Although you CAN open SVG into Illustrator, save it as PSD or Illustrator, I think Photoshop should directly support opening SVG files in the same way it does PDF. You set the pixel size you want and then rasterize it.

  • Cannot import ORF-files from Olympus E-520

    Hi,
One of my friends has this problem:
When he plugs in his new Olympus E-520 to iPhoto '08, and clicks 'import', this output comes:
    http://upit.jtw.dk/dl/q29/
Sorry about it being in danish, but basicly what it says is that the files are unreadable, and cannot be imported for that reason. This seems strange to me, as iPhoto should support ORF-files.
Also I have not been able to find anyone with a similar problem on the internet.
    Why Apple, oh why ?..

Is your friend shooting RAW format? If so then the camera is not supported. Mac OS X 10.5: Digital camera RAW formats supported.
Have him try using Image Capture or a card reader to get the files to the desktop and see if they will import from there.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Importing Illustrator File to Photoshop

Sorry, this question may be to vague to answer, but I have a problem with a file I created in Illustrator. When "placing" the file it gets imported extremely pixelated and corrupt. I know it's not the software, because other files I "place" into Photoshop from Illustrator look great -- files that were developed by other professionals.
I admit to being a bit of a novice in Illustrator and I'm thinking it's the way I set up the file, but I can't find any differences in the two files I have placed -- one being the file developed by another designer and the one I developed.
Sorry for this vague question, but does it bring any solutions to mind?
    Thanks, Jim

    Hi,
You're not suppose to "place" the ai file in Photoshop.
Instead you can save your logo in illustrator as a new PSD or PDF file, even you can open your illustrator file in photoshop directly.
    Wish this helps.

  • My 4.1 has stopped importing orf files saying it does not recognise them. What to do?

My latest photos will not impoort in 4.1 but have imported on 3.6 which i still have. I can see the photos in 3.6 but they are not in the 4.1 catalogue. I have tried a repair, no joy, so would appreciate any help if any body has this problem and knows what to do. Mr.Miike

    Victoria
Despite allowing me to import them as orf files i have now realised the
problem has not solved itself, as the dialogue box is again saying it
cannot find the files again, though i can see both pictures and there is no
histogram and it also says the metadata has been changed
there is no file i can find where the pictures are held, such as my
pictures, and i dont know where else to look
The bottom line is that Lightroom 4.1 stopped recognizing raw files. 3.6 is
accepting them as before and there appears to be a glich which is causing a
    conflict.
I have just taken another photo and it has successfully imported and i will
now try this a couple of times to see if the glich is repairing itself.
I will report over the next couple of days

  • Difficulty Importing .orf Files

I have recently purchased an upgrade to Lightroom 5.    After I purchased it, I downloaded .orf files from a card from my new Olympus O-M5.    Everything went well as it has with the earlier versions of Lightroom I have used.    A couple weeks later, I tried to download some new pictures from the same card and was not able to.
I downloaded directly from the SD card, using "Image Capture" directly onto my hard drive in the MacBook Pro.    When I'm ready to import into Lightroom, I find that file on my MacBook Pro hard drive and direct Lightroom to import from there.   The second time, when I look for the files in Lightroom5, Lightroom 5 does not show they even exist on my hard drive.   Yet, when I view them directly through the Mac operating system, I can open up the files and look at them.   The MacBook Pro recognizes that these files exist on my hard drive.     The MacBook Pro and Lightroom5 recognize the downloads from the first time I downloaded the card from my first set of shots.    It just doesn't recognize the second download.
    What gives?

It means what it says - your files are 16bit or 32bit or have unsuitable color profiles/ color modes. Convert them in PS.

  • Is there any way I can import Illustrator files in Photoshop touch?

I have downloaded PS touch to my tablet to manage images on the go, how ever al my work is done on illustrator and I heven't been able to import files from it, it appears it's only functunional with images. i was wondering if there is any plug-in that could allow me to import ai. files. thanks you all

PS Touch only works with raster images (like PNG or JPEG as well as its own native PSDX and PSD). No AI file support that I know of is in the pipeline. Could change, though.
