Importing packages from jar file

Hi all,
I have a jar file that contain a package . And i set the clathpath with the path of jar file including the jar file name. And when I import the package i have an error that package does not exist. And I don't know why.

1.) did you spell the path + name of the JAR file correctly?
2.) Did you spell the package name including capitalization correctly?
3.) Is the package hierarchie in the JAR the same as the package names?

  • Importing classes from Jar files..?

I've run into a problem that I am having some difficulty solving. I currently trying to port a two part Java UI project from Solaris to Windows. The first is a package of core classes out of which I (successfully) create a jar file. The second is a product-specific package that imports the core classes from the package created in the first. The problem is that the second package fails to build because javac says the package from part one does not exist. Here's what I know:
    - This UI (built via a Makefile) builds successfully under Solaris
    - The jar file that I created in the first part exists in the appropriate directory.
    - When I view the contents of that jar it appears as though everything is there.
    - The jar file is appropriately included in the classpath of the second build.
Any suggestions you could provide, or resources you could point me to would be greatly appreciated

jh.jar is a static, 3rd party component. Doesn't seem to be giving me any grief, at least not yet.
    Correct on your second point.
This is interesting. When I open my "CoreConsole.jar"
file, I DO NOT see any reference to the
com.emc.avalon.core.server package, only a list of
class files that make up that package. You should see the .class files on the left and the relative path on the right.
Also, all of the class file listings have absolute paths according
to the location on my machine they were built, for example:
    m:/xpe/CoreConsole/classes/com/emc/avalon/core/server/MessageLogUtility.class
Is this a problem..?Yes, that should be a relative path, with the first entry being the first name in the package statement. So you should see an entry MessageLogUtility.class, and the path should be com.emc.avalong.core.server.
If you can't see the class that's missing, that would explain why the class loader can't find it, either.

  • Import a java.jar file into EBS forms.

    Hi,
I have created a java class and deploy it into a .jar file. I need to import this file into the Oracle Application forms in order to call this class from Custom.pll.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

    Questions:
    1. What version of SQL Server are you using?
    2. Are you required to use a specific DTS package or do you simply need to import data from a file to a table?  You might also consider using the bcp utility or, if you are using 2005 or newer, integration services.
    3. Is the uploading of files and the import of data a manual process or is it automated?  Is there a user uploading one file at a time to your server or do you receive files in batches.  Can you describe the work flow?
You might try the following if you are required to use DTS:
    1. Upload your text file with CFFILE, putting in the directory expected by your DTS package.
    2. Rename the file to the name required by your DTS package
    3. Use CFEXECUTE to run the DTS package by calling dtsrun at the command line.

  • Import data from excel file - best practice in the CQ?

    Hi,
I have question related to importing data from excel file and creates from those data a table in the CQ page. Is inside CQ some OOTB component which provides this kind of functionalities? Maybe somebody implement this kind of functionality or there is best practice to do this kind of functionalities?
Thanks in advance for any answer,

You can check a working example package [1] (use your Adobe ID to log in)
After installing it, go to [2] for immediate example.
Unfortunately it only supports the old OLE-2 Excel format (.xls and not .xlsx)

  • How to package other jar files into one jar?

How to package other jar files into one jar? How can i get the class in the inner jar file?

Generally not a good idea. The Java runtime won't be able to load classes from those "inner" jars, you'd have to write your own classloader to do that. It's not a brilliant idea, generally, anyway, since the point of having lots of jars is to keep your application modular. Bundling them all together like that means you have to re-deploy the whole thing to fix, for instance, one small bug in one small library
If you really want to do this, there's an Eclipse plugin called FatJar, but I urge you to consider whether you really want to do it first.

    Hi,
    >>>>We have to send the original xml-payload and the generated (over XSL-FO) pdf-file as attachments in one mail.
Could this be realized with this solution?
then don't set it as constant
use getContextData method to get the xsl filename
    from one of the folders:
    moduleContext.getContextData("dirName");
then you only have to add <b>dirName </b> parameter
in the mail adapter configuration (modules tab)
and specify the path to your xsl over there
this way you're adapter module will be reusable
and you'll have both XML-payload and the XSL
(so you'll be able to generate PDF)

I know i'm doing something wrong i just don't know, please help Kev

    Welcome to the forum.
You should be able to use the Shift, or Ctrl modifier keys, to select multiple files, and Import them.
Now, for Stills, I would strongly suggest that you Scale those Still Images to about the Frame Size of the Project, prior to Import.
    Good luck,

  • Problem loading Applets from Jar files on 64 bit machine

I am developing an applet (extends Applet but uses swing components) using JDK 1.6 (Though these problems still happen in JDK 1.7) and I am unable to get the applet to load on a 64 bit machine in most cases. The web server(s) are running on localhost and I am connecting on the same machine using a local network ip address (such as 192.168.*.*)
Below are all of my test results. Can someone provide a suggestion for repairing this? The Windows Server machine is a clients computer I access to it via remote desktop but I can't do much with it though I do have administrator rights. The Windows 7 machine is my development platform so I have been able to do extensive testing on it.
This problem is presenting in the following environments when trying to load an applet from JAR files in a HTML document using the Applet or Object tag.
    Windows Server 2008 (Intel Chipset)
    Tested Browsers:
Internet Explorer 9 (32 bit) - Shows it is blocked by default then simply shows an x when loaded from a web page, same result when loading from local drive.
Windows 7 Home Premium (AMD Chipset)
    Tested Browsers:
Firefox 6.0.1 (32 bit) - Java logo shows with spinner, after a few minutes there is finally an error that a class in the jar was not found
Internet Explorer 9 (32 bit) - Java logo shows with spinner, after a few minutes there is finally an error that a class in the jar was not found
Internet Explorer 9 (64 bit) - Java logo shows with spinner and most of the windows desktop manager freezes, keyboard is the only thing that responds so you can alt-tab to another app to regain control of the desktop.
Chrome (32 bit) - Java logo shows with spinner, after a few minutes there is finally an error that a class in the jar was not found
The only way I have been able to get a Java applet to run on a 64 bit machine are the following ways.
Firefox 9 nightly (64 bit) works perfectly! Go Firefox!
Internet Explorer 9 (32 bit) loading directly from drive (c:\...)
Chrome (32 bit) loading directly from drive (c:\...)
Firefox 6.0.1 (32 bit) loading directly from drive (c:\....)
Can someone please help! I've been fighting with this bug for over a week and I can't find anything that will solve it, I have noticed that in some cases if my jar has very little code in it than it will run on the server, but the minute I start adding things to it the jar won't load anymore.

    To clarify...
    1. You have tried it on 32 bit machine? Exactly which OS?I tested this on Windows Vista Business which is in 32 bit mode and the applets run without any problems
    >
    2. Your only 64 bit tests have involved 2008/Win7?
If so then I would suspect something with windows not java. Probably permissions.
The web server(s) are running on localhost and I am connecting on the same machine using a local network ip address (such as 192.168.*.*)
Yes, I haven't tried running the jars on other operating systems.
    >
I don't understand that. If you are running on localhost then you should connect to localhost. If running on an IP then you should connect to that. Perhaps you meant that you have tested using both of those?I'm testing using the lan ip address but I'm connecting from the same machine. I've tried localhost and that didn't work so I tried lan ip since that will likely have a different java security context than localhost. At first I was blaming the IIS server but I downloaded the jar directly and using HTTP fox was able to verify that the jar is being sent with the correct mime-type and that the server can upload the jar file without a problem. This leaves me to believe the problem is with Java.

  • Import data from excel file

    Hello.
Is anybody can help how to import data from excel file to the form created with designer 7.0. Originally there is a script inside the form to populate drop down list and depending from data selected in the ID number drop down list, there will be filled out the description and the prices text fields. But now I have to modify this form with data from excel file, which has more than 30000 lines and put all this data to script is too much.
So, can somebody know how can I after filling the ID number field , populate the description and price text fields with data from excel file corresponding to this ID number ?
This form is used in Adobe reader.
    Any comments are welcome.

    Hi
That's what i said in my prev. Post to clear cache... :)
    disable your cache from nqsconfig.ini
In cache section of NQSConfig file,
    you find
    ENABLE     =     YES;
    set to NO
    OR
if you are using data ware house as the source for OBIEE,
you know that when ETL is done, so just create iBot to purge cache automatically at that particular intervals,
So that report runs freshly at that time
And what happened to your View Selector question?

  • Extra column to be added while importing data from flat file to SQL Server

I have 3 flat files with only one column in a table.
The file names are bars, mounds & mini-bars.
Table 'prd_type' has columns 'typeid' & 'typename' where typeid is auto-incremented and typename is bars, mounds & mini-bars.
I Import data from 3 files to prd_details table. This table has columns 'pid', 'typeid' & 'pname' where pid is auto-incremented and pname is mapped to flat files and get info from them, now i wanted the typeid info to be received from prd_type table.
Can someone please suggest me on this?

You can get it as follows
Assuming you've three separate data flow tasks for three files you can do this
    1. Add a new column to pipeline using derived column transformation and hardcode it to bars, mounds or mini-bars depending on the source
    2. Add a look task based on prd_type table. use query as
    SELECT typeid,typename
    FROM prd_type
    Use full cache option
Add lookup based on derived column. new column -> prd_type.typename relationship. Select typeid as output column
    3. In the final OLEDB destination task map the typeid column to tables typeid column.
In case you use single data flow task you need to include a logic based on filename or something to get the hardcoded type value as bars, mounds or mini-bars in the data pipeline

    Hi,
I am having a very difficult time being able to read images from a JAR file via my Applet. I have tried everything that I know about with no luck. The only way I can get this to work is to store the images individually in a sub directory of public_html on the websever. This works, but I would like the images to come down in a JAR file for performance reasons.
I am using Internet Explorer 5.5 for my browser. I checked the options and everything seems to be in order, but......
I would appreciate any feedback that anyone might have on this topic..........
    Thank You....

once in a jar file i inserted a image
the jar file on clicking starts an frame.

    i could not get that image from jar file by new imageicon().getimage();

    That's a really confusing post.
The easiest way to make sure you can use the classes in a jar file is to copy the jar file to the "/jre/lib/ext" subfolder of your JDK. These classes will be visible to all applications.

    Hi Howard,
    thank you for your post.
I actually new about the problems with the jvm version. Still i wanted to ask, cause there are different reports on this `java problems` and even though the 1.4.2_08 seems to be the best version (by the way this version is not to be downloaded any longer *sig*), there are people getting all installed with other versions. I couldn't find any regularity in the misbehavior of the servers while installing.
I finally achieved and got everything working ... but very slow. Loading the adminui or BAM features takes very long time (over one minute). Have you already had this delay. Any hint?
    Thanks again,
    Valerio
