Importing Production Data to SAP IDES
Dear All,
We need a Server for User Level SAP Training. Last time we use SAP IDES for user training but it is not very useful to the user.
The main issue is that no real data is there. Is it possible that I will export full database from Production at DB2 level and import it in IDES machine.
Hi,
I would strongly recommend you not to do this. IDES is a demo system with some default data in it. Definetly you will land up in to issue if you try to put your production data in to IDES as I suspect there should be lot of differences. So dont do that as it is not recommended. The better way is to remove the IDES completely (If it is not required anymore) and install SAP on it (Not IDES version) and after that export your production data in to it by following appropriate method.
If you require IDES to be remaining, then either check for another server or get a new server and after that install SAP and export production data.

Sharath

Anyone successfully imported MYOB data to SAP B1?
Hi,
Does anyone successfully imported/migrated an MYOB data into SAP B1? What actually the necessary steps prior to importing legacy data into SAP B1 after creating the Company Database? After successfully created a company data file in SAP B1, can I used immediately DTW to import chart of accounts? Note that I created a company file that don't have any chart of accounts but I want to import an exported chart of accounts from MYOB.
Can I do that? Or do i need to do some setup within the newly created company data on SAP B1?
Appreciate if somone can post reply to my question.
Thanks.
Edited by: Jezzrel on Oct 17, 2009 5:25 AMHi Sha
basically you have to insert what you want to import in the excel document and then use the dtw to import it. they do give examples of how the document must look like. Once you have entered all the data in the excel file you save it as somma seperated file (csv). Look at the examples that come with the dtw.
Hope this helps -
Error - Update Product Data in Solution Manager
Hello,
We are currently downloading the Enhancement Package 4 in SOLMAN via Maintenance Optimizer, however, after choosing the Technical Usages in step 2.1, it shows an error in step 2.2 (Select OS/DB Dependent Files):
Error : Update Product Data in Solution Manager
Has anyone encountered the same problem? Would it be fine to continue on the next step after selecting the files which you need for your operating system-database combination.
Any information is highly appreciated. Thank you.Hi Jaypee,
Check guide How-To Install EHP4- A practical guide. Solution of this problem is documented there. you can download it from http://service.sap.com/erp-ehp
Extract from this guide for this problem:
Make sure that you update the product data in SAP Solution Manager. This is described in SAP Note 1277035 which is referenced from the collective SAP Note 1122966. If you do not update the product data, you might get an error message after the stack calculation. The message text explains the problem in more detail.
Thanks

Regards,
Cobain.Divyanshu - sorry to ask but can you explain why i need to update r3load and r3trans to resolve this error? Just want to understand why I'm doing a correction so I can learn from the same.
Also, can you clarify the file update process:
For R3load:
a) the r3load used by the command is dated 8/16/2011 (location:C:\usr\sap\AVV\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\...)
b) the r3load i have in my db folder is dated 10/23/2011 (location:C:\Final\Installer\BS7i2011_Installation_Master_\DATA_UNITS\BS2011_IM_WINDOWS_X86_64\ORA\UC\...)
Do i replace (a) with (b)?
For R3trans:
How do I update this file?

is this issue error related to GUI?, kindly let us know your thoughts/suggestion on the above issue.

Importing inter-company transaction data from SAP (BPC 7.5 NW)
Hello,
For our legal consolidation application, we would like to import inter-company data directly from SAP R/3 and match / eliminate the amounts at the transaction level (i.e., it would not be enough to import balances only from SAP).
Is there any guidance available on how to do that? All of the information that I have seen so far either assumes that the data is being loaded via a flat file or focuses on the import of data for the Finance / Consolidation application. The import of data for the Finance application is not relevant as that imports balances only, not transactions.
Thank you.Hi,
To my understanding, concurrent locking only locks the intersection for the time the data is being sent to the database, which is not enough in this case.
We would need to have the lock utilized the whole time the user is inputting data for a specific dimension selection on the input schedule:
1. User selects values for dimensions
2. The input schedule is refreshed/expanded <-- LOCK ON
3. User inputs new figures etc.
4. User sends the data to database <-- LOCK OFF
The point is to prevent multiple users from working on the same set of data unintentionally.
Is this possible? -

RKHello Kurni,
In PDM/PLM latest version is PLM 7.0.
There are many new functionalities available in this version.
Earlier version can be accessed from SAP GUI, but the latest one can be accessed from Portal/NWBC.
DMS side many notes have to be applied as you will be instaling EHP4.0 as part of the upgrade.
ECM side some standard reports are missing in PLM 7.0, which were available in ECC6.0.

[RDMS Bulk Load Error End]
Please help me out i am really helpless and dont know how to solve this error. When you perform a bulk load, you basically tell SQL Server to execute a command local to the SQL server. What that means is that if you pass it a parameter that says load the file :
C:\Hyperion\products\FinancialDataQuality\Mineapp\Test2\Inbox\mine\load_demo2.txt
SQL Server is going to look on it's C drive for the file.
Unless you have SQL Server running on the FDM server, this is going to fail obviously.
The 'right' thing to do is setup your FDM app using a share name. (i.e. \\FDMSERVER\FDMAPPS\Mineapp instead of c:\Hyperion\products\FinancialDataQuality\Mineapp).
If you are relatively handy with FDM, there is a config file (in XML) that has the path information for the apps and you just need to change it from the hardcoded C drive reference to the share you create.)
Your other option is to NOT load the fiels as bulk. If you have a lot of large data files being loaded, this would be a bad idea. If you have relatively small load files every month and not a lot of users on the system, this may not impact performance. I would update the path information if it were me.

plz send me code....
thanksHi, Tony!
Are you using NWDS and SAP Web AS or another IDE / Application Server. If you're working with NWDS, simply create a new Enterprise Connector Project, select the R/3-System you like to access, choose an appropriate bapi/function module (best via application hierarchy) and let the IDE generate appropriate Java classes. Next reference the EC project in your Java Project and use the proxy classes according to <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/79/c6213e225f9a0be10000000a114084/frameset.htm">help.sap.com</a>.
If you' re using alternative IDEs, refer to their documentation.

How to retrieve the data from SAP-BAPI by using VB Code
Hi ,
I am new to BAPI.
V have created an application in Visual Basic with the following fields
EmpNo , EmpName, Addr1, Addr2, City and Phone (Only for Test)
We have written the code for SAVING the data into SAP. Already we have
constructed a table with the respective fields in SAP.
For that we ourself created our own BAPI Structure / Function Group /
Function Module/ Business Object - RELEASED related elements.
1)Established the connection successfully.
2)Stored the data into SAP Successfully and v r in need of
3)HOW TO RETRIEVE THE DATA FROM SAP (USING GETLIST.....GETDETAIL....)
Following is the code :
'BAPI Structure : ZBAPIEMP
'Function Group : ZBAPIEMP
'Function Module : ZBAPI_EMP_CREATEFROMDATA
'Business Object : ZBAPIEMP
'Function Module : ZBAPI_EMP_GETLIST
Dim bapictrl As Object
Dim oconnection As Object
Dim boEmp As Object
Dim oZEmp_Header As Object
Dim oImpStruct As Object
Dim oExpStruct As Object
Dim oreturn As Object
Dim x As String
Private Sub Form_Load()
Set bapictrl = CreateObject("SAP.BAPI.1")
Set oconnection = bapictrl.Connection
oconnection.logon
Set boEmp = bapictrl.GetSAPObject("ZBAPIEMP")
Set oZEmp_Header = bapictrl.DimAs(boEmp, "CreateFromData", "EmployeeHeader")
Set oImpStruct = bapictrl.DimAs(boEmp, "GetList", "EmployeeDispStruct")
End Sub
Private Sub cmdSave_Click()
oZEmp_Header.Value("EMPNO") = txtEmpNo.Text
oZEmp_Header.Value("EMPNAME") = txtEmpName.Text
oZEmp_Header.Value("ADDR1") = txtAddr1.Text
oZEmp_Header.Value("ADDR2") = txtAddr2.Text
oZEmp_Header.Value("CITY") = txtCity.Text
oZEmp_Header.Value("PHONE") = txtPhone.Text
boEmp.CreateFromData EmployeeHeader:=oZEmp_Header, Return:=oreturn
x = oreturn.Value("Message")
If x = "" Then
MsgBox "Transaction Completed!..."
Else
MsgBox x
End If
End Sub
Private Sub cmdView_Click()
End Sub
COULD ANYBODY GUIDE ME, HOW TO RETRIEVE THE DATA FROM BAPI, FOR THE WRITTEN CODE.I didn't seen any other answers but here's how it's been done previously in our organization for a custom BAPI. In this example, we give material and language to return the part description. It's not specific to your project but may give you ideas..
