Impossible to save properties changed in portal

Hi,
I would like to change properties in a tdms registered file (not loaded due to file size) in the portal and then save it (right clic in the portal and "save as" with the same name).
Modification to the properties work fine but I get the following error :
File system error : The "myFile.tdms" file is read only.
If I check the file in the window explorer, it is not read only...
Could anyone help me to save modifications made to tdms file properties (400 files to modifiy...).

Actually, I had first attempted the same approach as Stefan but made 2 errors in my test code and incorrectly concluded that the DataFileHeaderAccess() object was not able to edit a TDMS file. I fixed those errors and verified today that in DIAdem 11 you CAN edit the values of TDMS properties (File/Group/Channel) and even create brand new properties in the TDMS file, without loading the file, using this object. So that would be my recommendation for the easiest way to edit the TDMS property set from a DIAdem VBScript. Note that if you have the TDMS file register-loaded in the Data Portal that the DataFileHeaderAccess() object can not edit the TDMS properties. In this case you need to then re-index the TDMS file for the updated properties to show up in the DataFinder.
If, on the other hand, you are actually interested in programmatically editing the property values of the TDMS file, without loading it, using LabVIEW-- with no interaction with DIAdem or the Data Portal, then you can use the attached VI as an example of how this would work. In this case you need to delete the existing TDMS_Index file and re-index the data file for the property changes to show up in the DataFinder. The TDMS file can not be register-loaded in DIAdem when you delete the TDMS_Index file.

Like i want to configure my keystore with oracle portal so that my application can make a success full connection with back end using https.
i read the following note from one of the Oracle tech note,which says that
It is important that this system property is passed as a command line option to Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J). Setting the property in oc4j.properties will not help because the system property is read first before OC4J reads this file. Therefore, it is best to modify the <java-option> line in the OC4J_portal section of ORACLE_HOME/opmn/conf/opmn.xml.
So, i made the required changes to OC4J_portal section of opmn.xml file as below

if the above is an exact copy of the values you inserted then it looks like you have two typos in the command line parameters.
-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStrore -> trustStore
-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStrorePassword -> trustStorePassword

Impossible to save an image in applet?

I have been working on saving an image in Java applet for a week. But I failed to generate new image file on the disk. I'm using Java SDK1.4.0_03 and JAI 1_1_1_01. I found a topic "JAI TIFF Encoding Problem" mentioned that it should give permission to the Applet. I'm wondering if my problem is caused by the permission of Applet. But how to change the permissio of Applet? Otherwise is it impossible to save the image in Applet? Thanks your replay.

Impossible to save reduction of red eye

Last Saturday I installed iLife 05 in my mac and I checked the program discovering it was impossible to save the reduction of red eye: I could edit the photo and apparently the program saved the changes, but when I re opened the photo the reduction of red eye was missing.
After an advise of this forum I checked that the files of the photos I edited were unlocked.
Could it be a problem of configuration hardware of my mac?
Or could it be a problem related to my digital camera (Pentax Optio 330 GS)?
If it is a problem of configuration, how can I remove iPhoto 5 and return to iPhoto 4 that have always worked well?

Have you checked to see if any other graphic program can remove the red eye first? If another graphic program cannot remove the red eye, then it would point to the camera or the files the camera produces. I am sure someone here will check for you if you don't have another graphic program.

How to save formatting changes in SystemBuild

I am working in SystemBuild, an would like to format my block
diagram. I save the changes before exiting, but when re-opening
the model it goes back to a default format, with blocks/lines
overlapping. Is there a way to save the formatting changes that I
make?

In the v8.0.0 release, moving a wire's routing was not properly preserved. I have confirmed that the problem was fixed in 8.0.1.
However, there are a couple of points to consider regarding wire routing.
1) There only a limited number of 'bends' in a wire. This is the reason why automatic routing needs to fix-up a wire in certain cases.
2) After changing the wire's position, subsequent changes to the block's location on the diagram may make the wire position impossible to draw. In those cases, the automatic routing is done to re-position the wire. The editor does try to preserve wire positions when its block's positions move, but it's not always possible and there has to be some fall-back to solve the mis-routing problem and the automatic routing solves it.
3) Although I/O terminals are movable in v8, to remain backward compatible to v7.x, we can not preserve the positions in the diagram. Thus, each time a superblock is opened, the terminals are repositioned to the default position, relative to what they are connecting to/from. We needed to be faithful to the v7 look regarding the position of terminals. We recognized that by allowing the terminals to move, but not save the position, we'd be opening up a sore issue. But, we thought that atleast giving you the option to move the terminals was better than locking them down, as they are in v7.

When moving a block, area-select a region containing the block and the I/O terminals.
Use vector pin mode to reduce the number of terminals in the diagram
4) The wires of a diagram exist on a different 'layer' and that layer is above the blocks so that a block will not occlude a wire's path. We recognized that there are cases when that would be a nice, but we had to go one way or the other, at this point. It's possible this is a future enhancement.

How to save .xls file through portal

Currently i have a .xls file uploaded in my oracle portal. The idea is to enable all user to read only the .xls file and to enable only authorized user to read-write and save the changes made to the .xls file. How am i able to do this? Please give me a step-by-step solution since I'm very new to oracle portal 10g.

If the Excel spreadsheet is published as a File Item, grant Manage access on the item (requires Item Level Access to be enabled on the page) to the authorized user (or group) that makes the updates to the spreadsheet so that s/he can upload the updated spreadsheet whenever needed. Then just grant View access on that same file item to the group(s) or individual(s) that just need to view the spreadsheet. They'll still be able to save off the spreadsheet to their pc, so utilize the protection settings in Excel, if needed.

Passing properties file to portal

I have one application which was built on PDK. I have one properties file which holds connection information of backend. now how can i pass these properties file to portal. In webdynpro java, we can achieve this using application parameters. but in PDK which procedure we have to follow?
one more question is, For PDK applications creating the system object is mandatory or optional?. if mandatory how can we do that one for PDK application?

If it is a AbstractPortalComponent, DynPage or JSPDynPage you can put the information in the portalapp.xml file of the project into the component profile-section for example:

I am also having the same issue on my nexus 7 with android 4.2.2.
Saving only works after one or two changes but it fails after more ones.
I confirm the saving dialog with save and then the saving animation keeps on spinning.
I also restarted the system, reinstalled the app, deleted the app data or logged in to creative cloud but nothing changed!

get all the modified entries and store them in an internal table and udpate them in to the required transaction or your custom table.

here u need to 2 performs for PF status and USER_COMMAND in the ALV parameters.
create a custom PF status and create push buttons and assign your ok codes in your PF status.
if the field has to be edited in the ALV then pass EDIT = 'X' for that field in the fieldcatlog preparation.

I edit the presentation depending on the audience to which I am presenting.

If you add a new slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data), to an existing presentation then save, Keynote will only save the new content to the file, it wont save pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
The time taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again.

In Pages I used to be able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file".

In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. The trouble is Apple does not get the joke, that it is transforming itself into a frequently self contradictory bumbling bureacracy. The price of unchallenged self appointed geniushood.

How to change the Portal Password using a link from Web dynpro application

Hello Everybody,
I have a requirement to change the user password from a web dynpro application which is available on a mobile device. Firstly User will log into the portal through a mobile device and after getting authenticated user will be redirected to the mobile application. Within this mobile application there will be a link to change the login password(Portal login). Can somebody tell me how can i change the portal login password from a link available within the mobile application. Looking forward for a suitable reply.

Thanks for your reply..but i would also like to know can we directly use the Change Password Iview "persoUserPassword" from the portal. Can i directly Pass the URL of this iview from the portal to a "Change Password" link in the web dynpro application, so that when the user click this link he should be able to see this Iview on his/her mobile device and should be able to change the password from there. But i dont know whether this iview will appear properly on the mobile device or we have to have a custom web dynpro application for this purpose...Please reply with a suitable answer.

Actually the list was created with a custom content type. When i try to create a new form from the custom content type, it fails.
However, when i try to create a form using item content type, it creates a form successfully.

How to suppress 'Do u want to save the changes?' When there are no changes

Hi All,
I have developed one form,which contains 3 blocks in that 2 are database blocks and one is control block.It's working fine.When I close the form without doing any change also it is showing an alert as 'Do you want to save the changes you have made?'. How can I suppress that alert when I haven't made any change to the form.
I am displaying one filed in the database block as 'null' until check box is checked.For that I have written code in when-new-block-instance trigger of that block.
There I wrote SET_RECORD_PROPERTY (GET_BLOCK_PROPERTY (:SYSTEM.TRIGGER_BLOCK, CURRENT_RECORD), :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_BLOCK, STATUS, QUERY_STATUS); also to change the block status as query.
But it is not working, still I am getting the alert,How can I solve this could anyone please give me a suggestion..

So, this functionality can be done through CHECK BOX itself. Why you are making null by WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE. You can just set the update and insert property for that fields and rest things you can control from chexbox. And WHEN-BLOCK-INSTANCE-TRIGGER will fire once when you will access that block. If you want to set the same functionality for each record. Then you must use WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE. for ex.
Trigger = WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE (BLOCK-LEVEL)
Here i will assume that if check box is checked then he can update that fields.

SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('BLOCK_NAME.ITEM_NAME',INSERT_ALLOWED,PROPERTY_TRUE);
