In CS6.5- trying to use preview a draft in a browser?
In CS6.5- trying to preview a draft in a browser, shows my global error page-
I get "Error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect" message from the server?
There are about 1700 pages in the Website- 95% .CFM file types. I added home.cfm, index.cfm and default.cfm at setup time as admin.
Can you please share the screenshot of the error message?

Trying to use launchd to reload full-screen browser
I'm trying to use launchd to run a simple digital sign to show the weather.
Use case:
Start browser on boot, load up a URL (THIS WORKS)
Run a simple apple script that reloads the browser
Use launchd to run that script to reload the browser every 5 minutes.
All was well until I switched my browser to full-screen mode.
Now, when the launchd script fires off, it moves back to the desktop (away from the full screen browser).
Tabs reload correctly but the user cannot see them (because the browser is not visible anymore).
Put simply: If I open up a browser into full screen mode, and then use launchd Apple script to reload it, the full-screen browser dissapears, and the Desktop shows up. If I command-tab back to the browser, I can see that the reload worked.
Does anyone know how to make this work so that the browser reloads in full-screen mode without switching to the desktop when I call my applescript?
If it helps, here is my code in the apple script... this all works (I'm using a Chrome extension to make ctrl+shift+r reload all tabs)

Media Encoder CS6 does not always "Use Previews"
I've attempted several transcodes using pre-rendered timelines in Premiere Pro. Media encoder does not always use the preview files despite the appropriate box being checked. Any suggestions what I can look for? I don't see that I am doing anything different between the times it works and the times it doesn't.

Found Bug in PS CS6 While Trying to use the Eraser Tool
I was editing an 8 bit JPEG that I imported from Adobe Lightroom 3. While using the standard eraser tool to erase the background it would stop working and then move the screen around until I released the mouse button. This happend about every 10 - 20 seconds. I'm using a Macbook 2,1 with the OSX 10.6.8.
Recreate Steps:
1) Import 8-bit JPEG from Lightroom 3
2) Select eraser tool on main layer (background)
3) While holding the mouse button down start to erase part of the image
4) About 10 - 20 seconds in the eraser will stop working and then when you move the mouse around image moves
5) To stop the movement you have to release the mouse button and the find the correct part of the image again and start erasing again
6) Most of the time I was viewing the image at >150%
Hope this helps and you can find a fix. It's very annoying to have to stop and find the correct area of your photo to erase.
Anyone else having this issue?I am trying to reproduce this but as of now, mine is working properly.
Can you copy and paste your system information in this thread for me to take a look at? (Photoshop Help>system info)

"Use Preview Files" works in CS5.5 but is "Useless" in CS6
I'm a heavy user of the "Use Previews Files" option when exporting files. This has worked great with Premiere CS5.5 but using the same method in CS6 no longer works and reverts back to rerendering the original files in the timeline and rerendering all the effects on them which is very time consuming since the original files are HD and are being downscaled in a DV widescreen timeline.
Anyone figure out how to get Premiere CS6 to correctly find the preview files when exporting using the "Use Preview Files" option?
In the meantime, I had to load all the preview files I had rendered back into a new timeline and reassemble them in the correct order. Once I did that, I exported this 1 hour 38 minute timeline to an MPEG-2 file which only took 19 minutes instead of the 7 hours it would have taken even with the "Use Preview Files" on and with a fully rendered timeline.
Again, it works great in CS5.5 so something changed in CS6 to make the "Use Preview Files" useless now.
RandyOK, decided to do a simple project and test the preview files. One HD AVCHD video clip, 24 minutes long. Dropped into a DV widescreen project and the video clip downscaled to match the project. Added a color correction filter, Shadow/Highlight filter and Sharpen filter. Cut the clip into 4 pieces and adjusted the color correction on each. This will generate 4 preview files. This is basically what my larger project involve but with many more video clips.
Did not render timeline or make any preview files then exported an MPEG-2 file. Took 35 minutes.
Rendered timeline which produced 4 preview files in the DV AVI format. Took 1 hour.
Exported an MPEG-2 file again but this time selected "Use Preview Files". Took 35 minutes.
Exported a DV AVI file (same format as the Preview files) but this time selected "Use Preview Files". Took 35 minutes.
Imported the 4 DV AVI preview files and put into a new sequence. Exported an MPEG-2 file using no preview files. Took 3 minutes.
Imported the 4 DV AVI preview files and put into a new sequence. Exported a DV AVI file using no preview files. Took 1 minute 30 seconds.

Using AIR as a Custom Web Browser
Hi,
I am trying to use Adobe AIR as a web browser that is locked
down to just our application that I can deploy to our clients.
However, I have run across a few problems, the first one is to do
with popup windows in the application.
For example, if I create a new
named window using JavaScript like this:
window.open('', 'foo');
Then if I later try to submit an HTML form with
foo as the target window, I get a second popup window
appearing. The call to window.open appears to ignore the window
name. Is there something I need to do to enable the standard
behaviour in this case so that the original popup window is used as
the target of the form submission?
Also, is there a way to disable popup blocking if a popup is
generated on page load, rather than as a direct result of a user
action?

both the caller and the target in the same domain? I wouldn't
expect that a window in a remote domain would be able to change the
location of a window in the application sandbox.
Yes, both the caller and the target are in the same domain.
I have discovered that it works correctly if I do not use a
custom HTMLHost class. I was originally using a very basic
implementation of the HTMLHost class that I copied from the
documentation to try to fix another problem I was having. Could
this be a general problem with subclassing HTMLHost?

I am trying to use the brightness adjustment on a grayscale photoshop CS6 file. The preview shows the adjustment working and changes the brightness, but when you click to apply the change, it does not apply the adjustment. I have run into this problem before, although rarely, with some other files over the years and with earlier versions of CS. I would like to know how to overcome this problem?
Make sure you are viewing your image at 100%. At smaller views, pixels and layers and the way they interact are approximate interpolations and won't show you the actual pixel-for-pixel changes.

I am trying to combine multiple pdf's into one, using preview, but when I drag the additional pages they show up as separate documents. When I drag the doc in a line would show up in the past, and if I went above th eline all was good. It doesn't have a line, and no matter what I try I am having no success.

of OS X in use; some vintage OS X may vary a little in the process...

I am running a laptop with windows 7 and am trying to use the save as feature in Photoshop CS6 and it wont let me save as anything. Can someone please help me with this?
A screenshot of your Photoshop work area showing the open file you want to save as, the Layers panel open, and the Save as... dialog open might give us a clue as to what is going on.
To take a screenshot and save it as a file
For Windows 7, Printscreen, open a New File in Photoshop, Ctrl v to paste, then save as jpeg (the other trick was for windows 8)
Use the Camera icon on your reply to upload it.
Also File > Save for Web is a good workaround if you just need a jpeg, png, or gif.

I have adobe photoshop CS6 and I am trying to use the analysis tools but all of them except for the ruler tool are unavailable. Am I missing certain plug ins?
Which operating system?
If I recall, some features were not fully supported on XP.

Use Previews not working in CS6 Mac
It was working in 5.5, but appears to be broken for CS6.
I just rendered a spot using MB Looks on an adjustment layer. Took 6 minutes. I then immediately exported the sequence, and it took 6 minutes. My past experience is that the export should have taken about 18 seconds.
Anybody else seeing this? If so, I'll file a bug report.
MacPro3,1 - 10.7.4 - 32G RAM, Quadro 4000 w/stock OS driver; CUDA 4.2.10 - Pr CS 601Be that as it may, Jim, this isn't advertised behavior. The Help documents specifically claim that using Previews will speed up exports when the output format matches the Sequence settings.
To wit:
Work with preview files
When you render previews, Premiere Pro creates files on your hard disk. These preview files contain the results of any effects that Premiere Pro processed during a preview. If you preview the same work area more than once without making any changes, Premiere Pro instantly plays back the preview files instead of processing the sequence again. Premiere Pro stores the preview files in a folder you can specify. Similarly, preview files can save time when you export the final video program by using the processed effects already stored.

Downloaded fine but no matter what version I try downloading I seem to get message setup.xml could not be loaded. File corrupt? Help please am no techie and been on it all morning using vista home basic service pack 2 if it helps? Thanks.

Quit Preview. Go to /Users/lloyd/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.plist and drag that folder to your Desktop then relaunch Preview. -
