Hey folks -
This is Paintbrush a 56 year old who is relatively new to computers & currently at full all out war with hackers & going through a lonely hell for several months now - using defective weaponry - This devious and
insidious infection must be extinguished before others suffer the way I have - I'll provide a thumb-nail sketch of what's up & what I think I need to resolve this crisis - any input will be welcome -
Apparently I have been hacked for several months now and been taken for some cash -
Many unauthorized credit card applications attempted
HP Smart Friends - In 8 problem solving sessions in the past few weeks - failed
Hackers and viruses still present
Discovered my computer, purchased new 9/2012 on line Wallmart was manufactured in 2005 and was previously owned or at least used several times before it was sold to me as new -
I believe Vista or XP or both were previously installed OS with Windows 7 layed over without thorough clean out-
Event logs - even on windows 7 installed 2009, show significant activity prior to purchase or the installation of windows 7 - with thousands of event errors logged - many critical dating back to 2005
several attempts to completely restore computer to pristine factory condition have - failed - viruses remain in creases & hide in innocuous files such as sample pictures and you-cam which I never downloaded - can't uninstall the files as they
multiply - many games remain installed - last I played was probably Mario brothers - Parameters can't be reset - etc. etc.
Many unauthorized users present with full permissions - can't delete them
Before I introduce new equipment into a contaminated environment & have MS clean out the OS and have HP deal with the hardware, I'd like to have a full accounting of exactly what has transpired with this laptop since its manufacture date
- including - all prior OS - all software - prior users - current unauthorized users - and their activities -
Experience tells me - that it is important to enter any negociations from a stand-point of accurate knowledge & I need this as evidence should any problems arise with new equipment in the future which leads back to the root
of present difficulties. This list could continue on and on and I need immediate assistance in securing the safety of my current life as well as my future. In the meantime - I am frozen and frightened without functioning tools to proceed and
not knowing who to trust.
       To the right professional, I am more than willing to grant remote access & pay a modest fee. I need for everything to first be backed up in case of error - and then perform a handful of task specific reports.
I am in desperate need of help right now so any assistance would be greatly appreciated -

Nav Attribute:-
The dataflow performance/space is affected in the infoobject load, since the sid tables is growing with navigational attributes
The dataflow performance/space is not affected in transactional data (except for the aggregates).
So every navigationa attribute in an infoobject can be added to the infocubes without any cost.
The performance in query is affected, but the solution is simple: do not use!

Need to analyse my PROD system completely.

We have following setup in our system.
1) 2 node RAC.
2) ASM storage.
3) RMAN backup has been used.
4) PCP has been implemented.
5) Dataguard has been implemented.
6) 2node EBS has been implemented with h/w load balancer.
7) OS is AIX 6L.
8) DB is 11GR2.
9) EBS is 12.1.3.
Recently system gone live and we have been facing some issues very frequently. and client asked me to perform complete health check of the entire system. This is the first time in my career i am doing health check. Can any body suggest me which are the components i need to focus and any reference documents on the same.

Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.

Need help accessing the router web page. I have been told my router is acting like a switch and the IP address is not in the proper range. I have tried reseting the router (hold for 30 sec and unplug for 5 mins). Didn't work.

What router are you using? Almost all Linksys routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default local IP address, but there is at least one that uses 192.168.16.1 , namely the WTR54GS (not the WRT54GS).
You need to try again to reset the router to factory defaults.
To reset your router to factory defaults, use the following procedure:
1) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
2) Disconnect all wires from the router.
3) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
4) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes).
5) Power down the router.
6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Leave the user name blank (note: a few Linksys routers have a default user name of "admin" (with no quotes)), and in the password field, enter "admin" (with no quotes). This will take you to your router setup page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen). Exit your browser.
If you get this far without problems, try the setup disk (or setup the router manually, if you prefer), and see if you can get your router setup and working.
If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead.
If you get a reply in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, then either your router is dead or the firmware is corrupt. In this case, use the Linksys tftp.exe program to try to reload your router with the latest firmware. After reloading the firmware, repeat the above procedure starting with step 1.
If you need additional help, please state your ISP, the make and model of your modem, your router's firmware version, and the results of steps 9 and 10. Also, if you get any error messages, copy them exactly and report back.

Performa 6400/180 been hacked

Long story short, my performa has been hacked, and I can't do much now. Floppy disk: When inserted, it asks to initialize, then after done, it says " Cannot initialize, Disk is defective!"
It will read cdroms fine, but I don't know if I can use a 7.5 iso to boot from, or if it will let me boot from floppy at startup.
I was thinking of putting a whole new hard drive in, and trying to boot off floppy/cd, but having a hard time finding a 7.5 iso, and don't know what to do.

Your Mac was released with 7.5.3 and an enabler, so it can theoretically boot from any diskettes or "Full Retail" CDs after that.

You need to work on one problem at a time. Making multiple changes at once will guarantee that your Mac will never work again.
A known problem with these older Macs is the PRAM battery wearing out. If you have not changed it in the last few years, you should consider doing that first. These use a 4.5 Volt sealed Alkaline Ray-O-Vac 840, 841, 0r 842 or equivalent. It is a black cube shape about 1 inch (25 mm) on a side.

Apple will repair or replace at its discretions, parts found to be defective in materials or workmanship.
You will have to discuss whether your history warrants a complete replacement with the folks at the Genius Bar.
I do not speak for Apple, but it sounds to me like you have been unlucky, but not unlucky enough (or have spent so much time with your MacBook in the shop) to warrant a complete replacement.
You have not provided any details of what the faults were or what was replaced. If they replaced the motherboard, you already got a new computer -- because everything except the drive and the display is on that board.

did the adobe download & install complete on my laptop? How do I activate it? I was notified during the installation that I had to close explorer to let the installation finish. After that I was called away from my laptop (which I left on). There was a normal screen when I returned. I'm concerned I may have missed important info/ instructions.

I have little experience on my laptop. It seems to be working, though at times when I try to watch a news story, it'll either play (stopping often) or tell me I need to get the flashplayer to continue.
