Thanks,
VivekHi Vivek,
FYI :
JStartupICheckFrameworkPackage: can't find framework package D:\usr\sap\NW2\JC02\exe\jvmx.jar
The above message can be ignored. You will see that message often in perfectly up/running systems as well.
Also, the dev_jcontrol file shows that the server process was terminating !
You need to check std_server0.out file for the errors/exceptions as to why server0 was terminating abruptly. The reason should be apparent from dev_server0 and std_server0 most of the times unless its a startup framework bug where the error messages are not written to the log files.
So, whenever the server process or dispatcher process fails to start, you should check the corresponding dev_server<n> or dev_dispatcher and std_server<n> / std_dispatcher files. Also, usually, there will be some exception (if its application related) in the defaultrace file as well under server<n>\log or dispatcher\log depending on which one is failing to start.
e.g. if server0 is failing to start due to some UME issues, you will see the mention of it in std_server0.out (definitely) and more ellaborate info/exceptions in deafultrace under server0\log as well.
Hope the above helps. -
I need to bulk upload images from iPhoto to Auctiva (auction software) that will then be posted to eBay; however Java was disabled on my computer some time ago due to "known issues." I have 10.5.8 so does this mean that I can't use Java? If not, then is there a workaround to be able to use the bulk uploader from Auctiva? As it stands now, I have to upload photos individually which is super time consuming.
You can re-enable it for special purposes, opposite of disabling it...
Disable Java in your Browser settings, not JavaScript.

Message Mapping - java.util.Map
Hi There
I would like to know if there is any way, using java.util.Map map; to get the "data type" field name in a UDF? Passing a constant with the field name would not be practical.. I'm looking for a object oriented process to use in all my mappings.
Also where could I look for the methods I can use in the map trace object?
Regards,
JanBut I'm still missing the field name..
Let say I have a message mapping going from Field ACB to Field QAZ and a UDF called CheckLen.
In my UDF I'm looking at the incoming field and if it's length is correct. if not I'm writing an entry into a table stating there was an incorrect field but what I can't get is the the field name so I can write to the table "Invalid length on field ACB" The only way to get this field name value is by passing a constant of "ACB" to the UDF and using that. But we have hundreds of MMs so implementing this would be much more difficult than a OOP way.. -
Publishing XI exposed webservices in the UDDI Server of SAP WAS JAVA 640
Hi Friends,
I have a question regarding publishing a WSDL created via XI (Integration Directory) to a UDDI Server of SAP WAS JAVA 640. Can I publish the WSDL generated from XI in the UDDI Server provided as a part of SAP WAS 640 ? I know that the WSDL will be specific for a client( sender) but I feel that its better than emailing the WSDL to the client after generating it in the integration directory. Any relevant documents, links explaining how to do that will be appreciated.
The above question was asked by Siva Maranani before. His question was as below .
"I know that whenever a webservice is developed using NDS it can be deployed in WebAs and the same can be registered in UDDI ( webAs acting as UDDI registry).
Now my requirement is to register a WSDL file (which describes) for an external webservice. Can WebAs be used as a UDDI registry..?
I like to know if this is possible or not..? if yes.. how..?"
Waiting for the reply...
Thanks & Regards,
MathewHi Naveen,
Thanks for the quick response. I tried the steps mentioned in the link.
1. Successfully created a new local UDDI registry in SAP WAS..
2. Assigned users etc.
The place I am getting stuck is..
"Make sure that the Web Service Definition has already been created and configured".
I have a WSDL document created via Define webservice in the XI integration directory.(We are successfully able to call the webservice using this WSDL via .net & xmlspy)
Where should I upload this WSDL ? so that the users will able to download/reference it w/out myself emailing to them.We dont/won't have NDS installed in our landscape.
I understand that whenever a webservice is developed using NDS it can be deployed in WebAs and the same can be registered in UDDI ( webAs acting as UDDI registry).
The requirement is to register a WSDL file generated via XI w/out using NDS.
Did you able to publish a WSDL file generated via XI in the local UDDI w/out using NDS ?
waiting for your reply
Thanks a lot,
Mathew -

Java.util.Map to as object
Hi,
I want to get java.util.Map object returned from server-side
on the client-side. I don't know which flex data-type should I use
for that. I tried Array but it dint help. Someone plz help...
Thanks in advance,
ChereeYou can use a for-in ActionScript loop to examine any
ActionScript Object:
for(var i:String in someObject) {
trace( i+" = "+someObject
Within the loop, i assumes the name of all the public
properties in the given object. -
BEA error: deleteTaskAttributes(int,java.util.Map)
Hello,
I have installed OIM 9100 on BEA with an Oracle Database.
I got the following error message after starting OIM:
<08.07.2008 11.07 Uhr CEST> <Warning> <EJB> <BEA-012034> <The Remote interface method: 'public abstract void com.thortec
h.xl.scheduler.interfaces.SchedulerController.deleteTaskAttributes(int,java.util.Map) throws com.thortech.xl.scheduler.e
xception.SchedulerGenericException,java.rmi.RemoteException' in EJB 'SchedulerController' contains a parameter of type:
'java.util.Map' which is not Serializable. Though the EJB 'SchedulerController' has call-by-reference set to false, this
parameter is not Serializable and hence will be passed by reference. A parameter can be passed using call-by-value only
if the parameter type is Serializable.>
Can anybody help me or tell me what it means?
Thank you,
MatthiasBEA Weblogic normally throws a ton of these errors as it seems like OIM's ideas on what should be passed by reference and what should be passed by value does not play well with Weblogic.
I have been told to ignore these warnings.
Good luck

Compile error import java.util.map$entry
Hi,
I am trying to compile code which imports the following package
import java.util.Map$Entry.
The error thrown up is : cant resolve symbol Map$Entry. Why is there a $ in the package import path and is there some configuration required to compile the file.
I am not allowed to change the code. Does anyone have an idea on how this problem can be solved.
Thanks and regards
Kumar VellalBtw java docs for the interface are available at:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/util/Map.Entry.html
Changing the import should probably help compile the code, but without changing the import .. need to check. This is just from what i remember now. Lets see if anyone else comments on this. -
JPA - Columns to java.util.Map
I need to map the columns of a DB table into a java.util.Map object.
Any idea about how to implement this feature?
These are the columns of my table:
| ID | Value01 | Value02 | Value03 | ... | ValueN |I'd like to obtain a bean like this:
public class MyBean {
private String ID;
private Map values;
}I thought I could extend java.util.Map and redefine the get(Object) and put(Object, Object) methods
(I did something like this in java 1.4) but I can't figure it out in 1.5 with JPA>
hi i have the following method, when i click my button am geting this error java.lang.String cannot be cast to java.util.Map
>
And that is correct - you can't do that cast. Which is what this code is trying to do.
>
(Map)actionEvent.getComponent().getAttributes().get("test")
>
Ask yourself what object is supposed to be the 'Map' in that line of code?
Is it 'actionEvent', 'getComponent()' or 'getAttributes()'?
My guess is that it is the 'getAttributes' that returns a map. Which means you need to cast
actionEvent.getComponent().getAttributes()as a Map. Which means you need to put that entire thing in parentheses so that the cast is performed on it. And then you have to put THAT entire thing in parentheses so you can call the 'get' method on it.
So this is the 'Map'
(Map) (actionEvent.getComponent().getAttributes())And this calls the Maps 'get' method
( (Map) (actionEvent.getComponent().getAttributes()) ).get("test")If you broke the line into pieces and stored each piece in its own variable you would see it. These object types may not be right but should give you the idea.
//( (Map) (actionEvent.getComponent().getAttributes()).get("test") ).get("test")
MyComponent myComponent = (MyComponent) actionEvent.getComponent();
Map myMap = (Map) myComponent.getAttributes();
myMap.get("test"); -
Log Data Changes in WAS JAVA (WAS ABAP has this functionality)
Hello,
I use very frequently a functionality of WAS ABAP. In the ABAP Dictionary, you can activate, in the technical settings of a database table, the flag 'Log Data Changes'. If this flag is activated, every change (with UPDATE, DELETE) to an existing data record by a user or an application program is recorded in a log table in the database. Using transaction SCU3 you can see the table history.
Now, I am using WAS JAVA, and I am creating tables in JAVA Dictionary. Has JAVA Dictionary a similar functionality?
Thank four your help in advance.Hi,
In the IDE,there exists a tracing preference which you can use to track the changes.
Go to Window->Preferences->Trace Configuration
Choose the category or the location,in your case ,you can choose Dictionarynd choose the module for logging.
You can also specify the handler for the same in the handler tab.

Java WAS System Copy for non-SR1 Systems
Hi,
I found the document describing the Java WAS system
copy for NW 2004SR1.
However, has anybody successfully copied a Java
WAS system (Especially if the SID was
changed) which was not SR1?
I understand how to copy the datafiles, recreate the
control files, adapt the default and instance
profiles, etc..
However, I am not sure which other parameters,
XML files, or database entries need to be changed.
This is for a development system (I wouldn't do this
for a production system).
Any information from somebody who succeeded to do
this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
IFHi,
for system copy of SCM 4.0 use the document system copy for webas 6.20
https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700002645032002E/syscopy620_140803.pdf
perform DB copy as note 151603 :Copying an SQL Server database (homogeneous system copy)
apply sap note 551915 - R/3 won't start after database restore or database copy after DB copy.
if you want to perform livecache copy also
check Note 457425 - Homogenous liveCache copy using backup/restore
also consider Note 886103 - System Landscape Copy for SAP SCM

How to connect OpenLDAP WAS Java, EP?
Hello experts,
did anyone succed to connect an OpenLDAP to WAS Java?
I think a OpenLDAP libary need to be installed/configured in order to use it for the user management in the EP.
I would appreciate to get information how to realize the connection?
Where I can get the libary?
Is there any step-by-step-guide?
Thanks in advance.
ThomasThank you for your reply.
I would like to connect an OpenLDAP to our EP7.0 with Web Application Server Java.
However all experts just inform me that it is possible to use LDAP as a datasource. I know this already and I know where to find general information about using LDAP for identity management.
But I need information how to connect especially an OpenLDAP to EP7.0 with WAS Java, Win2k3 64bit; Connection should be writeable and in a Flathierachy.
I think I just have to adjust one of the LDAP-configuration XML-files to the OpenLDAP requirements.
In the standard delivery there are already Configuration-XML-Files for Microsoft AD, Novell, Sun etc.
Is there already an Configuration-XML-File which I can use for OpenLDAP?
If not how I can use and adjust the exisiting files to make the OpenLDAP connection work (Access writeable, Flathierachy)?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Problems with user on ABAP+JAVA WAS
Dear Sirs,
I have an ABAP WAS 7.00 where we have installed a JAVA WAS 7.00 as an add-on. The UME in the JAVA WAS is set up as read-only, and as far as I can understand all the user management is performed in the ABAP.
However if I create a user in the ABAP, this is not visible in the Java WAS.
Now I need my normal user to be visible in the JAVA WAS, in order to be able to log on to a Webdynpro application.
Does my user need any special authorization or roles in order to be visible in the JAVA WAS. I have a user J2EE_ADMIN in the ABAP WAS which is visible in the JAVA WAS as well, but I am unable to see what makes it special.
Best regards,
JørgenHello again,
If I search with * I get a list of around 27 users, where around half of them has R3_DATASOURCE and the rest PRIVATE_DATASOURCE.
So this is what I think is so strange, it seems like the connection between ABAP and JAVA Was is ok, yet not all the users are visible in the JAVA was.
Best regards,
Jørgen

Which is the best free Java Obfuscator?
Hello,
I am planning to deploy my application using Java Webstart and to protect my code from reverse engineering wondered - which is the best free Java Obfuscator?
thanks,
AnilHerko,
Thanks for your insight. With your explanation, I have more respect for your approach. I am a (struggling) one-man startup trying to get this thing off the ground. Yes, my idea can be learned by seeing it in action. That is why, advisors have told me to yank the demo from the web site (http://juwo.com)
I would hate to see someone else steal what I have done with a lot of trouble and even worse, use my own source code to do so. In short, I dont want to be a fool.
thanks,
Anil
I know the Proguard product, as well as several other
obfuscation tools. I know obfuscated stacktraces can
be reversed (as long as you go through the extra
trouble of maintaining the obfuscation mappings for
each version of the software you release). That was
not my point.
I work for (and am part owner of) a small software
development company. We have invested 9 years into
writing enterprise-quality software that is provided
to customers all over the world. We used to think we
needed to obfuscate our software too. However, we
have found that the source code is by far the
least important aspect of what we do as far as
most of the outside world is concerned. Which
is why we have been developing a major part of our
software as Open Source since 1999. Which is why we
have switched completely to an Open Source strategy
earlier this year. That's right: all of our code is
(or soon will be) freely available to anyone,
anywhere.
We have learned over the years that the most
important aspect of our work is not the code, but the
idea behind it. Obviously, this idea can not be
obfuscated without defeating the entire purpose of
the software. This means others are able to learn
about the idea just by seeing the software in action.
That alone enables them to implement that same idea.
The fact that they might use our source code to do it
is largely irrelevant.
Going one step further, the most important aspect of
our work is actually the way we - the people who
made the software - use that idea solve the real
problems of our customers. It is that knowledge our
customers ultimately pay for, not the code.
With very, very few exceptions the basic idea of your
code will not be unique on a global market like the
Internet: sooner or later (and from our experience,
it's always sooner) someone will have the same idea.
Their implementation of that idea might be better
than yours, or it might be worse. What ultimately
matters, though, is wether or not you are able to
convince customers that the idea itself is sound.
Customers buy solutions, not code.
