  • Sun-faces-config.xml question

    Hello all,
maybe this question is a bit silly, but im a newbie to this. Im developing a complib file with a custom component; and I want to add custom properties to it. As far as Ive done, im able to add custom string properties via the "StringPropertyEditor"
All this is done in the sun-faces-config.xml file, and when I declare a property which can be set via a combo-box, this is, with a "SelectOneDomainEditor" in the sun-faces-config.xml, I dont know how to populate this combo with data to be shown so it can be selected in the properties window.
Id be truly grateful to anyone who can help me out, maybe a short sample or fraction of a sun-faces-config would be fine.
Thanks everyone in advance, and sorry for the long read,
    MANUEL ANSN.

  • Sun-faces-config.xml

Hi - Is there a way to distribute component metadata in sun-faces-config.xml over more than one file?
I have multiple components and all the metadata combined is resulting in a HUGE file and its getting quite tedious to modify it.
    Any suggestions?
    TIA.

  • Working with multiple faces-config.xml files

I would organize the menu definitions of my application in different faces-config.xml files. I would also put the label in different properties files.
The SRDemo application uses a unique properties file for the menu used in the el expression from the faces-config.xml.
Is it possible to have the same approach with not only one faces-config.xml file but has many faces-config.xml i want for my application.
If yes does the binding name to be different or may be the same for each file ?

We still have a litlle problem we don't find the reason. May be you can help us.
The second menu level never appear in the menu list. The menu list appear as empty.
The menu bar seem to be correct. We put twice the same model tree to be sure it was working well. Both menu appears. It is correct.

  • Re: com.sun.faces.config.ConfigListener not found

I am using Tomcat 4.1.24 and got the demos from EA4 working. Now I am getting an error in my own JSF WAR file about com.sun.faces.config.ConfigListener class cannot be found.
What jar file would I be missing?
    Thank you.

    Hi All,
I am facing the same problem on TOmcat 4.0. I copied the jsf-ri.jar from war file/lib to tomcat_home/common/lib and the problem was resolved. Can anyone from Sun address this issue please as to why this is so?
Also, now the container is not able to access the Faces Servlet. I should mention here that this does not work only when deployed as a war file.
    regards,
    piyu

  • Parse error on adf-faces-config.xml

When I try to include the "adf-faces-config.xml" I get XML parse errors (see stack trace below). I'm using Jboss. ADF faces works fine, it's just when I try to include ths adf-faces-config.xml in web.xml.
Anyone sees what is wrong here? The web.xml entry does get read, and it does find the adf-faces-config.xml file mentioned, and it does start to parse. I also know that the config file is OK (I tried several sample files I found on the web, and I even manually verified againt the schema) ...

    I found the "solution" myself.
You can't actually rfer to adf-faces-config.xml from web-inf.
I got this info from some website, but that was plain wrong.
The ad-faces-config.xml location is hardcoded (WEB-INF/ad-faces-config.xml).

  • Problem w.r.t. JSF 2.0 with faces-config.xml

    Hi All,
I am trying to evaluate the features of JSF2.0.
For that, I have created a very simple application with "JSF 2.0.2".
There is a page that displays a composite component and some other form related components (inputtext, commandbutton).
When I deploy my application without any faces-config.xml file, everything renders perfectly fine.
When I deploy the app with faces-config.xml (even an empty one without any configuration), none of the components get rendered.
Only the html elements get displayed.
I need to define some navigation-rules in my config file. I am not sure how to go further from here.
The app server I am using for deploying my app is GlassFish(v3).
Any help or pointers towards solving my problem are highly appreciated.
You can find the xhtml file, etc of my project below.
    Thank you,
    With best regards,
    Praveen

I just said that it is not necessary to add something special to faces-config.xml in order to get JSF works in portlet environment. I successfully use JSF with WSP and JBoss Portal (MyFaces).
MyFaces has own implementation of bridge called MyFacesGenericPortlet while for Sun RI you have to use JSF Portlet Bridge. JSF Portlet bridge can be used with MyFaces as well.
Such a bridge invokes lifecycle.execute or lifecycle.render to execute JSF phases depending on request. So all phases or Render Response phase is invoked accordingly.

  • What belongs in the faces-config.xml file? Just bean and navigation info?

I am looking for detailed information on the faces-config.xml file.
I've used examples up to this point and I was wondering where the documentation for this configuration file was at.
At this point, I know that bean management and navigation information is in this file, but are there other settings?
    Thanks,

  • Faces-config.xml is the only configuration file or we can keep more

    Hi All,
    1) faces-config.xml is the only name specification allowed in JSF for configuration file or can we use another name for this configuration (like as struts) ?
    2) can we have multiple configuration files in JSF like as struts contains multiple configuration files for navigation ?
    Thanks,

  • I can't find the package, "com.sun.faces.config.beans"

Hi. To research the implementation mechnism of JSF, I downloaded JSF reference implementation source JAR from javaserverfaces.dev.java.net.
But when I unziped the JAR and import these files into eclipse to compile this project, a serials of compile errors occurred. Making a comparation between binary JAR and source JAR, I found that some files contained in binary JAR weren't in the source JAR. For example, com.sun.faces.config.beans package exists in the jsf-impl.jar, but not in jsf-impl's source JAR. I ensure that the binary files and source files have the same version.
    Any advice is welcome. THX.
    null

There are three source projects for JSF. The jsf-api, jsf-impl, and jsf-tools. The jsf-tools one contains the package you're looking for.
I never understood why the JSF developers organized their projects this way. Basically, it looks like the jsf-tools project gets compiled into the jsf-impl jar. Thus it's not 1 project to 1 JAR. And confuses people like us!

  • The Managed Bean in the faces-config.xml File

I am still very new to JSF. I am confused about the managed bean.
For example, I have a button in my web page. A click on this button invokes an action; say, ListAction.java.
In this ListAction class, I instantiate a business delegate; say, ListPersonnel.java and call a method in this business delegate to return an ArrayList: personnel. Of course, this business delegate goes through facade, DAO, etc. to populate the ArrayList. This ArrayList is a collecation of a JavaBean called PersonnelBean that gets and sets a number of personnel information; such as ssn, name, etc.
Upon this ArrayList is successfully populated and received by the ListAction class, I am going to display a web page with a table. In JSF, it is <h:dataTable ...>.
My questions are regarding the managed bean in the faces-config.xml file.
    1. Which one is my <managed-bean-class>? packageName.ListAction? or packageName.PersonnelBean? or something else?
    2. What should be my <managed-bean-name>? I guess that I can give a name I like. Is it right? What about xyz?
    3. Then, how do I specify the "value" attribute of my <h:dataTable ...> tag when I display a web page to show the data table? Is it correct to specify value="#{xyz.personnel}"? What is the correct specification if it is wrong?
    4. I guess that I can give any name to the "var" attribute in the <h:dataTable ...> tag. Is it right?

    1. Which one is my <managed-bean-class>?

show the data table? Is it correct to specify
    value="#{xyz.personnel}"? What is the correct
specification if it is wrong?xyz.personnel is OK assuming that ListAction class has a public
method getPersonnel() which returns the ArrayList of PersonnellBeans.
    4. I guess that I can give any name to the "var"
attribute in the <h:dataTable ...> tag. Is it right?Yes, you can give any name you like.

If anyone has any information to help me I would appreciate it, thank you.

i replaced the "faces-config.oxd_faces" file. it is found under:
    C:\jdevadf\jdev\YourApplication\ViewController\model\public_html\WEB-INF
if you have an older copy of this file, just replace it, your faces-config.xml file might get moved around, mine took me over an hour to rearrange my page flows but it did the trick.

  • Include all JS files in the Descriptor?

    Hi there,
I am new to AIR & I am looking to port a large WebApp built in Html/Css/JS/Jquery, which has over 20 JS files, to a AIR desktop App.
Is there a way to include all JS files in the Descriptor file instead of naming each of them in the ADT command?
    Thanks

No. The files to include in the package aren't named in the descriptor. You can use just a folder name on the command line to include everything in that folder. You can also use the "." character to include everything in the "current" directory.
