Include project name in search results? RH9 or 10

Hi all,
Our projects are organized with a master project for the various clients, that includes a number of application projects such as Word 2010, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
When a user runs a search in the published project, they sometimes have difficulty knowing which result belongs to which application, e.g. does "Headers and Footers" belong to Word or Excel?
They are asking if the Search result can show the name of the application, i.e., the name of the project.  Does anyone know a way to do this, other than renaming hundreds of files?
We have RoboHelp 9 at the moment, and the client has RoboHelp 10.
Thanks for any help...
Marion

Hi Marion.
Sorry but I can't think of a way around this apart from renaming the topic titles to "xxxx Headers and Footers" where xxxx is the application. Depending on what your output type is the search picks up on various pieces of topic data but none of them can dynamically insert data like a project name.

  • How to display File Title instead of File Name in Search Results

    Hello All,
    I want to display the File Title instead of File name in the search results. For example when i do the search for the HTML Pages i get the File Names i.e. Index.html However i want 'HTML Page Title' to be displayed instead of File Name.
    Please help in this.
    Full points guaranteed...
    Vaib

    Hi Vaib,
    first, the search result is displayed with some layout set. The standard layout set used is the SearchResultLayoutSet. This uses the StandardSearchResultRenderer as it's collection renderer. And this in fact renders the display name and not the ID: <i>rnd:displayname(contentLink/[1;2-3]/alignTop/space-right=30)</i> within "Displayed Properties". Maybe on your site the default settings have been changed.
    For how to use a different layout set etc see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2a/4ff640365d8566e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm for details.

  • SEARCH RESULTS NOT SHOWING THE NAME OF DOCUMENT

    When I search for a document on the top level, the results in my case are relevant but they do not display the document name, meaning I have to go into the document to check if it is the one I'm looking for. For some reason the name of the file is displayed
    in results as the first line of the document. I use a document template for letters meaning that the search results gives as list of documents that all have the same name displayed. This renders the search function almost useless as all the results are showing
    the same name. Is there a way to change the results page to display the name of the document??

    Hi,
    Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to show search results by document name instead of the Title.
    Here are two links about how to show document name in search results, you can use as a reference:

    In SharePoint 2013, when user search for a document within a folder, Search content along with Folder name and icon getting displayed in the search result. I am trying to hide Folder name from search result. Please suggest some way to achieve this.
    Thank you
    Jyotiraaditya

    Hi,
    As I understand, you want to search without folders in SharePoint 2013.
    You can do the steps to achieve your request:
    In search center in results page, click Edit page.
    In search results web part, click dropdown in the upper right corner -> click Edit Web Part.
    Click Change query -> in Property filter field -> choose contenttype, not contains, folder  -> click Add property filter -> ok.
    Thanks,

  • Some images are not loading...including yahoo logo on search pages. Firefox 8.0

    most images are not showing up in browser....including yahoo logo on search result pages and icon images in gmail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox.

    If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
    *Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
    *Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
    *Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
    *Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
    If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
    Make sure that you do not block third-party images permissions.default.images

  • Search results showing incorrect modified date

    Hi All,
    I have a one difficulty in search results.
    Document showing incorrect modified date in search results. And this happens for one document only.
    We have customized the search/results.aspx page, Our document is showing correct modified date in document properties,All Items.aspx like 31/4/2013.
    But when i search with document name in search, result showing incorrect modified date like 24/6/2004.
    I checked with database in SQL, every thing is fine.
    I have updated the Modified date through powershell script for one document and after that this recent modified date is showing in search results.
    But after updating the Modified date through powershell, issued document not showing the recent modified date in search results. still showing as 24/6/2004.
    I should not do edit property and save, to create new version.
    I don't know what is happening in search crawl. All ready full crawl running daily basis.
    I want to check whether this issued document is crawling or not. Could anybody help me to get out of this. what is the main cause of this issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    MD.Liakath ali

    Hi,
    I'm seeing the same issue after upgrading the SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013.
    When I search any upgraded document in SharePoint 2013, the document's "Last Modified Date" was showing an incorrect value in Search Results page but other metadata of document like "Last Modified User" is showing the correct
    value so the problem is not with document crawl, something wrong with Last Modified Date property in Search results.
    I have seen below comment as answer but I didn't understand the solution to fix this issue for all upgraded documents.
    The most likely cause is that there is metadata on the documents that is set to that date which is overriding the other dates in the search result. SharePoint isn't particulary imaginative so it's got to be finding that date from somewhere.
    Do we have any solution for this issue? Is this issue will be addressed in SharePoint 2013 SP1?
    Note: No issues with documents, which uploaded after upgrade.

  • WebHelp Search results include text from topic

    Hello,
    Using XP with RH8 and RSC 3.1
    Testing the Search tab functions in a Web help project and noticed that the Search Results list includes text from the topic, including from the Header, which have our product name and copyright statement.
    Is there a way to turn the display of text off, or at least restrict where it picks up the text from?    I like having the ranking column, but the topic title is all I really want in that column if that's possible.
    See the attached example.
    Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

  • Different Color Text of Topic Titles by Child Project in Search Results List

    Does anyone know how I can change the text color to indicate the source project of a topic as displayed in the Search Results list?
    I have followed Peter Grainge's directions for setting up a parent project that has several child projects, one of which contains outdated version-specific information. Thanks, Peter!
    I would like it to be obvious to the user before they open a topic from the Search Results list that it is from the old legacy project.
    I have found where the font is set, (thanks to the RoboWizard), but I am not a Javascript programmer and am uncertain how to code the "if document is from this project, then use this font" logic.
    I would also like to put a "caption" below the "Search Results per page" line to explain the purpose of the color change.
    I am using RoboHelp HTML 8.0.2. I generate WebHelp output which is then FTP'd to our server.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Leon,
         Let me make sure that I understand your suggestion - I should change the title of each topic in the "legacy" knowledge base so that they each include a short identifier, such as "First Topic - Legacy"? If so, I suppose that would work, but I'd have to change 1,000 topics. The topic titles would no longer match the filenames (I'm trying to freeze changes to the old knowledge base to which there are many links from our user forum), which I suppose is not a big concern at this point.  I'll run some tests.
         That has also raised another question in my mind, but I'll post that separately. It's about the way Robohelp selects the text that is shown immediately after the title of the topic in the Search Results list.
         Thanks for taking the time to help!

  • In iTunes 11.0.2.26, an Albums search by track names returns albums as if they only have one track on them, but I still want to access the entire album. How can I have the search results show the entire album (with just the searched for name highlighted)?

    Hello, all.
    In iTunes 11.0.2.26, an Albums search by track names returns albums as if they only have one track on them, but I still want to access the entire album. How can I have the search results show the entire album (with just the searched for name highlighted)? For instance, I'm wanting to play an album with a particular track on it or I'm searching for albums that include that track. iTunes incorrectly assumes that all I'm after is that one track and then incorrectly displays the album as if there is only one ttrack on it. This is a bonkers default setting. Can I change this?

    Click the search magnifying glass and uncheck "Search entire library".
    Type in the name of the track.
    Click the album of interest to show tracks.
    Select the track.
    Press the X in the search box to clear the search.
    Double click the track you want to start playing first.

  • SEARCH results - shows file name. Can I change this?

    I am using TCS2 in Windows XP.
    In Robohelp when you search the online help, it brings back the search results but they are displayed under the filename heading. Can I change that? I don't necessarily want my filename displayed to users... maybe the Chapter name?
    TIA
    -Adriana

    Hi--
    I have no solution yet but am having very  much the same problem, and would like to get in on this conversation while I continue experimenting. I'm working TCS2 (Frame 9 and Robo 8), linking the Frame book to Robo to create CSH. I'm a long-time Framer but a newbie to Robo and TCS2.
    As far as I can tell from reading through the thread, I've got some kind of variation going: some of my CSH Search results show the heading, and some show the filename. I haven't yet discovered what is the difference in the Frame file, although I believe that's where I'll find it. It's consistent from search to search. (That is, if it a topic shows up in Search results as the filename once, it does so consistently. Ditto others showing up as the heading.)
    In addition to hereby signaling moral support (!) and an interest in a solution, I'd like to provide my settings here and see how yours compare.
    The marker I created to manage output CSH filenames is "FileName." I'm working with engineers who are not native English speakers and have never implemented  CSH. For the 30 or so (out of 75) topics that actually are going to be  linked from the application, I created FileName  marker text that starts with "LinkTo_<menupath>." (Example:  "LinkTo_WebSecurity_ServerSecurityGroups_Adding.") The idea is to help  them see what to link up where. (It also made editing map IDs faster: I just select and automap any topic name  starting with LinkTo_.)
    So I'm getting Search results that look like this:
    Things to know about xyz
    text text text...
    LinkTo_Statistics_Events
    text text text...
    My "File > Project Settings > Edit  conversion settings... > Other" settings are:
    Context Sensitive Help Marker: blank
    Topic Name Pattern: grayed out but is "(Default)"
    Topic Name Marker:  FileName
    Not sure this is optimum. (As I said, a Robo newbie.) Also, my chapter titles and H1 thru H3 are set up to paginate, although I  realized later that filling Topic Name Marker field disables pagination.
    Thanks, will keep working on it --
    Anne

  • Search by Project Name?

    Is there anyway to search for a project by name? I am pretty descriptive in my project names hoping to save the time in creating keywords for each photo. I have over 500 projects and would love to be able to do a text search of a word or two in the project title. Any ideas?

    ok, i will explain more in details,
    I have a data block contains some text boxes (sno, empno, projectno, startdate), currently, users can click the "Execute" button and return all records or users can go to Enter query mode and insert a value (search criteria) into any of these textboxes, and then they will get the required record after clicking the "Execute" button.
    I added 2 non database text boxes(date1,date2) for searching purpose, it will return all startdates located between these 2 dates. I used the following code for that and its working fine but "IT DISABLED THE OTHER SEARCHING CRITERIA (sno, empno...)" which is not good because i want a suer to have a choice.
    Declare
    where_dt varchar2(150);
    Begin
         IF :System.Mode = 'NORMAL' THEN
         set_block_property('blk_name', default_where,'');
         Else
    where_dt:='startdate between :blk_name.date1 and :blk_name.date2';
    set_block_property('blk_name', default_where,where_dt);
         End if;
    Execute_query;
    End;
    So, i edited the code to include the other criteria, users can search by one criteria only.
    Declare
    where_dt varchar2(150);
    Begin
    IF :System.Mode = 'NORMAL' THEN
    set_block_property('blk_name', default_where,'');
    Else if :System.Mode = 'Query' Then
    if :blk_name.Date1 and :blk_name.Date2 is not null then
    where_dt:='startdate between :blk_name.date1 and :blk_name.date2';
    end if;
    if :blk_name.sno is not null then
    where_dt:='sno = :blk_name.sno';
    end if;
    if :blk_name.empno is not null then
    where_dt:='empno = :blk_name.empno';
    end if;
    set_block_property('blk_name', default_where,where_dt);
    End if;
    Execute_query;
    End;
    Unfortunately, this code is not working, i am getting error.
    It points to the last "END;" and returns error: "Encountered the symbol ";" when expecting one of the following IF "
    Any help please??

  • Search results not returning file names correctly

    Have an onsite SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise that contains a number of documents in a document library all containing the word "south" in their title. When a search is run with the keyword "south" all 3 files are shown in the results but only one displays
    the correct title. The other 2 display alternate text (in this case the company name). The links all 3 results are correct, however the title of results is incorrect for 2 out of the 3.
    I have duplicated these results using Office 365 and another on site SharePoint 2010 server.
    I have duplicated these results converting the documents to DOCX format under Word 2007 and Word 2010.
    Obviously, this is an issue with the files, however any ideas where to start looking to uncover where the SharePoint Server is pulling the information from?
    In the end I need all 3 results to display the current name of the files it finds, not simply some random text with the files from 2 out of 3 of the results.

    Pasted from here:
    http://bpostutor.com/post/Hidden-SharePoint-2010-Feature-Changes-Document-Titles-in-Search-Results.aspx
    Hidden SharePoint 2010 Feature Changes Document Titles in Search Results
    SharePoint 2010 has a interesting feature which you may not know about.  It's called Optimistic Title.  It's part of the Office Search engine within SharePoint.  What it does is determine a new, hopefully more relevant title for your documents
    to be displayed in your search results based on document properties or the actual contents of the document (i.e. Text within the file).  As you might expect this is closely tied to the Office document formats such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote,
    and Visio.  Your end users may report that the titles that they see for search results differ greatly from the file name or the actual title of the document.  This is particularly evident with PowerPoint files where the name of the first slide
    is often used. The behavior is not entirely predictable.  Different results can be expected from Office 2007 and Office 2010 created files and even those created in earlier versions of Microsoft Office.
    If you want to change this functionality you need to actually go and edit the registry on your Search role server(s) within your SharePoint farm, restart the osearch14 service and then do a full crawl.  The key you want to modify is the EnableOptimisticTitleOverride.
    The default setting is 1. Change it to 0 to disable the feature.
