We have an application that will be accessed by users with role A in "Edit mode" and users with role B in "Query Mode". Role A also has sub role C. (meaning all users with role C will have access to role A as well)
What we have done so far:
OID is set up with all three roles A, B, C in the hierarchical order
web.xml has all three roles defined
Application Definition editor for the view has the following values:
Authorized Roles/Permissions A, B
Insert Allowed EL Expression #{jhsUserRoles['A']}
Update Allowed EL Expression #{jhsUserRoles['A']}
Delete Allowed EL Expression #{jhsUserRoles['A']}
When a user with role "C' logs in they are not able to see the page. But when I include C in the Authorized Roles/Permissions like this
Authorized Roles/Permissions A, B, C it works.
My question is since role C is a subrole of A won't it automatically pick up that permission? Is hierarchical role structure not supported in Jheadstart?

Hierarchical role structure is not supported in Oracle's JAAS implementation, and subsequently not in JHeadstart (all we do is using the JAAS API's for this type of security).

How to include Query extractor in process chain

Hi All,
According to th requirement I have created Query Extractor using RSCRM_BAPI to upload Query data to application server.
Now it has to be included in PROCESS CHAIN.
Is there any way to include Query Extractor in process chain.
Or is there any ABAP program which can be used to trigger the my Query Extractor and later this program can be used in process chain.
Quick reply is much appreciable.

How to find out if a query(report) has a role.

I want to find out if a query(report) has a role and what the role name is.
Do anybody know a function or a table?

goto SU01 , give ur username , click on roles tab , and click F1 on role field , then goto technical attributes , and use where-used-list of that dataelement , u will lot of tables on Roles and its attributes
You can look up AGR* tables in SE16

Row level Security for BI Author Role

Hi All,
We are using OBIEE 11.1.1.5 in our project. We have a requirement where we need to configure row level security on certain column.
We are currently using external table and session variable approach to configure this. This security works fine for the users with BI Consumer
roles. But we are facing issue with configuring row level security for BI Author role.
BI Author can create any analysis in BI Answers and suppose he/she creates a report which does not contain the column on which row level
security is applied than he can see all the data. For eg.
We have one dimension Products having two levels Product Division and Brand. I want to configure security based on Product Division column.
But if BI Author create a report with only Brand and Measures than row level security is not working.
Does anyone has face this issue before.
Please let me know if you want any other information from my side.

If you are using a multidimensional cube you can use the "permit" command to control access to dimension members or provide cell level security within the cube. The OLAP database documentation provides on how to use the PERMIT command.
If you are using relational tables and/or views with additional CWM metadata mapped using OEM then you need to refer to the database documentation relating to Virtual Private Databases and Label Security

How to find the mapping between the query/report and the role with technical names ?
Like in R/3 we can find the mapping using table AGR_TCODES or thourgh SUIM. However in BI all reports have tcode RRMX.
So. how to find the role for a given query/report like sales report with technical names?

I looked into this quite a while ago and cannot remember the exact details, but I think there were 3 tables needed together with a structure to explore with a function module, and you need to use the program ID to think them.
If you look in SQ01 then I am sure you will find one of the tables, and then search from there onward.
Alternately, while searching you might find a nice report which does this for you.

Unable to Schedule the Report with a user with Author Role.

I tried to Schedule the Report using weblogic user(which has admin role) it worked perfectly. But when i try to login using User(which has author role) and when i try to schedule a report i am getting the following error. It is clustered Environment.

Error Codes: IHVF6OM7:OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC

The patch is available on MOS and can be applied to all platforms.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
