Incoming Survey/Mail Problem

Hi Gurus,
I met an incoming survey/mail problem, and need your help:
"Survey" can be created and sent to vendor's external mail address  successfully via the "Portal --> Supplier Evaluation --> Create Survey", but the problem is, the system could not receive any incoming mails or survey results. Kindly please help.
Thanks and best regards
Alan

  • Mail.app: text in table cells in incoming formatted mail - problems replying

    MacOS 10.9.2
    mail.app  7.2, threading enabled
Sometimes I receive a formatted email that is really difficult to reply to, when I want to intersperse my reply text among the incoming paragraphs.
The trouble occurs when multiple incoming paragraphs are grouped. I can’t open up vertical space for my reply  text inside the groups.
If I click anywhere in the group, mail.app marks the group with a surrounding rounded-corner grey rectangle, with a X-in-a-circle “close icon” at the upper left corner.
When I look at the raw source of the incoming message, I see that the groups correspond to table cells, that is, the sending mail client enclosed the paragraphs within a <td> … </td> pair.
The sending email client is sending me a table, for no clear reason — the group doesn’t correspond to anything obvious in the message thread.
I’m guessing we won’t ever know why some email clients group paragraphs like this, but I’d like to do my best to adapt, so I can keep up with my incoming email.
Yeah, I can ask my correspondents to use a different email client, or perhaps different settings in the same client, but except for the few tekkies among my correspondents, this isn’t really practical.  I can also ask my clients to use unformatted messages, but THAT is a whole different issue, and frequently isn’t practical, either.
    My questions:
Q1:  What’s the point of the grey rectangle and the  “close icon”?    (Is this mail.app’s way of saying, “I received this crazy formatting, almost impossible to process, so I’m making it easy for you to just delete the whole mess”?  Or what?)
Q2:  Is there any SIMPLE way to untangle (modify or remove) these groupings within mail.app?  (I guess I can access the raw html, copy-and-paste it into another app, modify it, and paste the results back into my reply.  Yuck!)
Q3: Am I missing a really obvious work-around or fix?
    TIA

In your question, you indicated that you are running Firefox 8. Is that correct? It might be difficult to diagnose issues with that version because most people have moved on to Firefox 12 (plus or minus 1 version). Can you upgrade?
It's hard to think of a reason that ordinary text or links in ordinary text would not display. For embedded images or videos, one possibility is a difference in the protocol, i.e., HTTP (not secure) versus HTTPS (secure).
Hopefully someone else will have a better guess (or actual knowledge!).
Regarding the blue lines in a message, that usually indicates the earlier message was forwarded a few times. I don't know whether Gmail will let you reformat that area or whether you have to clean it in another application (e.g., for plain text, in Notepad) and paste it back in.

  • Various E Mail problems: Junk Mail, Log Off, etc

I am having various and frustrating problems that are intermittant.
I have two incoming e mail accounts, one is IMAP and one is POP.
    1. Junk Mail. After having reset my junk mail settings as advised on this site just a few days ago, I am continuing to experience this problem. Messages that the systems "knows" is Junk Mail do NOT go to Junk Mail folder, but to the regular In box. It knows they are Junk Mail because the Tab for changing the message at top of screen says "Not Junk", which means it thinks it is JUNK. They why won't it go into Junk Mail folder?
    2. When I try to delete these messages one by one in In box, the computer "freezes" and takes forever to delete the messages. The In box counter on left hand side of the screen does not decrease as I delete messages, but takes a long time (minutes) to catch up with the deletions.
    3. When receiving certain e mail from specific recipients, the system intermittantly says "message not dowloaded from server, you need to take this account on line". Well. it IS online! Again, this does not happen all the time, but often enough and from the same e mail recipients) that it is very frustrating.
    4. Oftentimes when I try to shut down, I get the dreaded spinning color wheel, only to have to force quit. This is a lengthy process, and then I lose all of the deletions that I have tried to make to my Inbox.
Are all of these problems somehow related? Cumulatively, they are very frustrating. I never had these kinds of issues with Windows Mail apps. Uuughh!
Thanks for reading and any assistance.

There appears to be a problem with the index.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all the filesystem issues, if any, and ensuring that there’s enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong, e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down. This is where all your mail is locally stored.
    3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see any other “Envelope Index”-named file there, delete it as well.
    4. Move the “IMAP-” account folder to the Trash. Note that you can do this with IMAP-type accounts because they store mail on the server and Mail can easily re-create them. DON’T trash any “POP-” account folders, as that would cause all mail stored there to be lost.
    5. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be “imported”. Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index — Mail says it’s “importing”, but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
    6. As a side effect of having removed the IMAP account folder, that accounts may be in an “offline” state now. Do Mailbox > Go Online to bring it back online.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.
    <hr>
If the problem persists, what are your Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Junk settings, particularly for the IMAP account?
Also, what have you done to “reset [your] junk mail settings as advised on this site”? This is what I’d suggest:
    1. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail, disable junk mail filtering, then enable it again. This resets the rule that governs what the junk filter does.
    2. Choose either Training or Automatic mode (it doesn’t matter) and leave the other options checked. Click Advanced to see how the junk filter rule is defined now if you want, but don’t touch anything there.
    3. Reset the junk filter database (Preferences > Junk Mail > Reset).
    4. Open Window > Previous Recipients and get rid of any addresses that you don’t want Mail to treat as legit.

  • No incoming e-mails for 2 iPhones on same e-mail account

Problem with the iPhone Mail app that began a few days ago and similar to the recent Yahoo mail problems: One of 3 related CenturyLink e-mail accounts on 2 iPhones and an iPad will not receive incoming mail more recently than February 1st.  The 2 other accounts work fine as they have for years. I have done everything suggested in the Forum short of erasing the phone: deleted the non-working account and reinstalled many times, restarted and restored the phone, changed the server and SSL settings, restored from an iTunes backup a month ago, opened the mail account on Safari (which works fine), updated to the new iOS 8.2, spoke with 2 tiers of CenturyLink Tech Support who graciously gave me an hour of their time.  The iPad seems to work now after logging into the e-mail account on Safari then adding the account back on Mail, but that approach doesn't seem to fix the phones.  They suggested deleting the Mail app and restoring it but felt it was a risky since it might screw up the other accounts.  Besides I don't know how to delete and restore the Apple native apps without restoring the whole phone to new condition.  Also the Feb 1 date advances 1 day per day as if it can't sync more recently than 38 days.  Any more thoughts please?  Thanks!

  • "Internet Mail - Problem during delivery processing" email received

Every email I'm receiving as of this morning is accompanied by an email from [email protected], entitled "Internet Mail - Problem during delivery processing"
Is this an issue on the Mac server side or a problem with my Mail app?
    Many thanks in advance.

My Wife and I both have an Ipad and an iPhone, I use an iMac and my wife a MacBook Pro.
I have this problem with all my devices.
My wife has NOT got this problem.
We both use a [email protected] email acount.
    Just compared the settings:
For "Incoming server" I have p03-imap.mail.me.com
My Wife has p02-imap.mail.me.com .... and has not got this problem.
I have setup a new rule for incoming mails (for the meantime):
move all incoming emails from [email protected] to trash and delete it.
Works fine for now,......until APPLE deals with the problem.

  • Incoming E-Mail Connector failure, but where?

We've had the incoming e-mail connector working fine, it was receiving appointments for calendars, uploading docs, etc and then... it stopped.
    Here's what I've checked:
    1. the Exchange server is sending the email to SharePoint (checked in Exchange Mail Flow) and it's part of the same network, literally sitting in the same cabinet with the SharePoint server
    2. the SharePoint server is able to create Active Directory profiles, which means it is connected to Active Directory properly
    3. the IIS 6.0 Manager SMTP Virtual Server has been stopped and restarted
    4. I can send email from SharePoint without a problem still
    5. I fired up ULS Viewer and kicked off the email multiple times, I've read through lines and lines of code, I don't see anything about the email address coming in. Maybe I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for but it does not appear to be there....
Should I just rebuild it from the ground up? *Sigh*
Note: It might be due to a complication from installation of Office Web Apps 2010 which thereafter SP told me my "trial period had expired" so I ran this psconfig command: psconfig -cmd secureresources [enter]
    Explained here:
http://retrohack.com/sharepoint-2010-trial-period-expired/ which got rid of the "trial period error" but this incoming email connector issue is driving me crazy.

The Incoming E-Mail connector was running. I manually added the location of the mail drop, and tried kicking off a job, but nothing... So I put it back into automatic mode, and just for kicks because nothing was working I disabled the Incoming E-mail connector.
Then I went back in and enabled it again, ran the incoming mail timer job again, and this time it worked! I think it's a bug in SharePoint 2010? There's nothing that I changed, all the services were previously working... Big thanks to Guru Karnik of Slalom

  • Major Mail Problems!

    Hi all, (Mac Mail 1.3.11 (v622) ) OSX10.3.9
i've been having some major mac Mail problems for a while now, with no clear understanding on how to resolve them. It may be the case that i am managing my mail all wrong, so any correctional advice would be welcome too.
I receive a lot of graphics pic files through from work as well as sending them, so for me it is relatively important that i keep a lot of the emails over the past 6 months to a year on my machine. When i say a lot it might only actually be a 3mb jpeg pic a day.
Anyway, a while ago i started to get this message come up when tried to access new email
"...The message from "Mr X" <[email protected]> concerning “Emailing: xxxx.jpg ” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
This seemed to happen for a lot of the emails, even ones that didn't have any attatchments to them. I posted here a good while ago about it, and discovered from someone else that quitting mac Mail, and then opening it again at the email that you just quit from, would open the particualr email you wished to see!!!!!
I've been doing this process for a while now, but find it to be very irritating. Over the period of this problem, i have wiped my machine, and reinstalled OSX, hoping that it would sort this out, but with no luck.
Now i have to admit, that i don't really understand the whole mail server thing. I would have thought that any past mail i download is then stored onto my mac, enabling me to access it any time, so long as it is there in my mailbox. Also, i have backed up mailboxes, a few times, but agin this dis not seem to solve the problem.
Today, the Mail decided to do it's own backup process, so i left it to it. It cleared my mailbox and left my with 300 random emails left. I needed to access some of the past few weeks emails, so then had to re-import the backup mailbox containing something ridiculous like 7000 emails!
when i click on one of them, it requires that i "You need to take this account online in order to download it." but then i quit the application and then open it again, and it's there!!!
If anyone can help me with this i'd be most grateful as it's driving me up the wall! Even some helpfull tips in maintaining a healthy mailbox would be welcome.
    Thanks
    AstroBhoy

This incorrect error message indicates an "overstuffed" mailbox issue which means the mailbox has approached or exceeded the recommended size limit or has some corruption.
All email clients have limits and the recommended mailbox size limit for Jaguar and Panther Mail is 1 GB and for Tiger Mail, 2 GB. This problem is much more common with Jaguar and Panther Mail and has all but been eliminated with Tiger Mail which uses a significantly different mbox filing structure for each mailbox.
An "overstuffed" mailbox issue can occur at any mailbox size with Jaguar or Panther Mail but is more likely to occur depending on the number and size of message attachments contained in a mailbox and especially as a mailbox approaches or exceeds 1 GB in size.
Since you regularly receive and send a lot of graphic file attachments, you should utilize user created "On My Mac" location mailboxes to sort received and sent messages by category. This can be done on a monthly basis with the emphasis on not allowing a mailbox to approach or exceed anywhere near 1 GB in size and it is also a good idea to use the Rebuild Mailbox function on the most active mailboxes on a regular basis - once a month or so depending on activity.
Before upgrading to Tiger, I didn't allow any mailbox to exceed 500 MB or so in size and used the Rebuild Mailboxes function on the most active mailboxes once a month or so and never experienced this problem.
Regarding the problem with this account's Inbox mailbox, quit Mail first and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > INBOX.mbox.
Move the INBOX.mbox to the Desktop.
When re-launching Mail, a new and empty INBOX.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder. This will allow the Mail.app to function properly again with this mailbox and not risk losing any new messages received with this account while working on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop to recover the existing messages.
Control-click on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop and at the menu window that appears, select Show Package Contents.
List the package content file names and size of each providing this information here. This information is required to determine the next steps to take to recover the existing messages.

  • Configure incoming e-mail settings - Error File Not Found?

    Hello
I am trying to setup a test server for SharePoint 2010 and I have followed the MS instructions for deploying a single SharePoint 2010 server with SQL server. I have had no problems or errors during the setup; however now going through the recomended
post installation task of configuring incoming email settings I am getting an error message.
I have added the SMTP service to the server, configured it in IIS then gone back to the SharePoint central administration page. When I click Configure incoming e-mail settings under System Settings I get the following error message.

    Hi Terradog,
Firstly, you can check the ULS log, which is located in Drive:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\LOGS folder. You can find the exact
correlection ID from the log file.
For the similar issue, you can refer to the following post:

  • Upgrade install to 10.5 Mail problems solution

Ok, I am posting this after 2 days of research why Mail behaves crazily after I installed 10.5 via update. I tried archive and install as well with same Mail problems resulting.
Now maybe this wont work for everybody, but it solved all my problems like a charm resulting in Mail working perfectly now.
After one whole annoying day behind the forums I just thought I should post it.
The basic problem was that my Mail didn't want to receive messages while the progress bars were just spinning infinite. Quitting Mail had to be done via Force Quite to stop it.
First thing i noticed was that if I open "*Previous recipients*" panel I get the everlasting spinning beach ball.
So I gathered that there must be some problem in the communication between Mail and Address Book. I backuped the Address Book database and deleted everything I could find connected with Address Book.
Next step was going to Mail folder in my User Library where I deleted all mailboxes .plists and mails because I had some messages I couldn't delete in Mail app. I also deleted other .plist files.
Then I reinstalled Address Book via additional install and rebooted the machine.
Address Book now contained no addresses. I opened Mail, and bingo everything started working, opening "previous recipients" showed 0 contacts and I starter using Mail without problems.
To finish the thing, just backup Address Book ad voila.
Now, maybe that won't sort out everybody's problem, but it sure did mine. And I had all Mail problems described on this forum while sing Mail.
Good luck fixing this highly annoying Leopard feature!

    Hi,
Same thing here. All printers gone. Archive & Install 10.5 on a 2.33Ghz MBP. Cannot find my network printers. Tried everything I can think of. When I boot from my external drive (10.4.9) everything works great. Leopard also ate my company VPN and won't give it back. Any help would be welcome.

  • Many syncing and e-mail problems.

Hi folks, lots of syncing and e-mail problems here:
Syncing: My phone won't sync iCal (it tells me my phone is disconnected), my safari bookmarks or my email accounts. I've been through the threads here, tried resetting iSync, tried deleting calendars and resetting to 10 days instead of 30 -- still no luck. For e-mail, initially iTunes saw the e-mail accounts but did not sync theml. I tried the one-time advance settings and now it's not even seeing the accounts and still not syncing them. and for Safari, no luck with the bookmarks at all even thought the check-box is checked.
Also, the iPhone won't receive e-mail from any of my POP accounts, even the one I set by hand (because none of the settings synced.) I used the same settings that I have on my desktop, but no luck. I use RoadRunner, so I know I can't send off it. But I went to the genius bar today and they told me to just leave the SMTP server field blank and I should be able to receive, but all I get on wi-fi and edge is a message that says, "Cannot Get Mail, the connection to the server "pop-xxxxxx etc" failed." even on my home netowrk, with five bars, it can't seem to connect. (btw, it does seem to be working properly on my .Mac account, but I don't use that account for most of my correspondence.)
As far as the sync problems, the genius bar told me to reinstall iTunes, which I did with the new update that just came out this evening. Still no luck.
any thoughts? bum phone? some setting I'm not catching? any help would be appreciated.

You will find the iPhone will freak out over any kind of perceived data corruption. Calendars seem to the worst for this (windows or mac)
Test in a new user and try sending info in each direction. If it works - then your phone works fine.
Other users have reported having to basically copy the contents of their calendars into a sticky or text edit window. delete the calendars and create brand new ones. they then just transfer the data back.

  • How do i stop incoming e-mail addresse from being added to my address file

each incoming e-mail adds the address to my file--iwant to stop this--noted in "discussion" that there is an add-on that will add the names--I did not download this add-on and can find ne record of it

when i received your e-mail your address [email protected] was added to my address book--i have not installed any add-ons--so i went into help and uninstalled any add-ons
the add-on for auto add addresses came from your support forum--follows
    "Helpful Reply
To add them manually click on the star to the right of the senders address when viewing the message in the message pane or a tab. If the star is filled with color, the contact is already in your address book. If the star is blank, clicking it will add it. Clicking the star a second time will open the edit dialog box.
This is NOT the same star that is to the left of the message header in the Inbox view.
There are some add ons that will add all incoming addresses to their address book. I cannot imaging why anyone would want to do this, but it is available. You can search the add on list for these applications if that interests you"

  • How do I automatically or manually add incoming e-mail addresses to my address book?

How do I automatically or manually add incoming e-mail addresses to my address book?

Automatically? Really?? All addresses of all senders just sucked into the address book, spammers, advertisers and all?
Where an address appears in the panel above the message text, there is a star alongside it. Click this star to add the address to your Address Book. Once you have done that, you can click the star again to edit the address book entry.
Note that if the star is empty/grey (silver?) the contact is unknown. If the star is filled/yellow (gold?), the Contact is already in your address book. (This is very like the way bookmarks are managed in Firefox.)
If you really want all senders' addresses entered indiscriminately into your address book, this add-on may be of interest.
