Incomplete DDL export for tables
I'm using SQL Developer 1.2.1 Build 32.13 on Debian GNU/LInux.
If I create tables like these:
create table t_0
a number not null
alter table t_0
add constraint pk_t_0 primary key( a );
create table t_1
a number,
b varchar2( 100 ) not null,
c varchar2( 100 )
alter table t_1
add constraint fk_t_1_t_0 foreign key( a )
references t_0( a );
create unique index ndx_t_1 on t_1( a, b );
then "export DDL" command on table t_1 do not generate the DDL for ndx_t_1 index.
I have also see that sometime a primary key is exported two times in DDL: one as primary key and one as index, so when you execute the DDL you have an error: index already exist.
Ciao
Davide
The duplicate index issue has been fixed for the next release. Also in the next release the export feature has been updated to work as a wizard to improve the flow of work. You can select the object types you want exported. It concludes with a report of the objects to be exported.

Is there a list of DDL that is captured for the different rules in the DBMS_STREAMS_ADM subprograms. For example, the ADD_GLOBAL_RULES probably captures more DDL than ADD_TABLE_RULES will.
Basically, I have table rules set up and want to replicated or ignore certain DDL commands. However, I'd like to know which DDL commands I either need to ignore or apply in the DDL handler.
Thanks! Thanks for the reply, but it's not helpful.
I know where the Oracle doc is located and it doesn't answer my question, that's why I posted here.
I also realize Global rules apply to the database, Schema rules apply to a schema, and Table rules apply to a table. That's easy to find in the doc.
Here's an example - you have a Streams capture rule configured for a table and you specify you also want to capture DDL. Obviously any 'ALTER TABLE' DDL will be captured and applied.
But what about the creation of indexes, triggers, views, synonyms, procedures, functions, and packages based on the table? These are the specifics that I'm unable to find in Oracle's doc - hence the question posted here. -

when I click on a package body - I get "loading ..." below it but it never puts the
procedure names in and the "loading ..."message stays in the tree view - however you do get to see the packages in the source window.
Realise this is very much a work in progress and am grateful to see an early release such as this. Looking forward to the production release.
Best regards,
David.OK thanks for looking ....you've obviously got the fixes on your to do lists
Noticed that the SQL tab when you select an object works fine - displays the
DDL for the object
Do you think you'll have functionality so you can select many objects (shift left click) and
then create a DDL script for them? It looks like you can do this for all objects in a schema but
the ability to select a subset of objects in a schema would be very useful for our DBA's.
Couldn't see any good reason for keeping using SQLNavigator
Many congratulations on producing such a useful tool.
Kind regards,
David. -
Exporting R3 tables into Flat Files for BPC
Dear BPC experts,
I understand currently the way for BPC to extract data from R3 is via flat files. I have the following queries:
1) What exactly are the T codes and steps required to export R3 tables into flat files (without going through the OpenHub in BI7)? Can this process be automated?
2) Is Data Manager of BPC equivalent to SSIS (Integration Services) of SQL Server?
Please advise. Thanks!!
SJHi Soong Jeng,
I would take a look at the existing BI Extractors for the answer to Q1, I am working on finishing up a HTG regarding this. Look for it very soon.
Here is the code to dump out data from a BI Extractor directly from ERP.
You need dev permissions in your ERP system and access to an app server folder. ...Good Luck

Export Oracle tables and metadata to file for importation into another Db
Hi all,
In relation to past posts I'm wondering if a tool exists that allows one to export chosen table(s), along with associated metadata (hopefully automatic incorporation of associated triggers etc) to an export file and then add (import) this data to another Oracle Database?
Looking at remote application development on specific data on a 'standalone' PC running Oracle XE at home.Hi,
well there is only a version of datapump.
You can set a 'VERSION' parameter for compatibility..
Check this out

It can help you. :) -
How to set DDL lock for a table
OCI,how to set DDL lock for a table?
Oracle acquires a dictionary lock automatically on behalf of any DDL transaction requiring it. Users cannot explicitly request DDL locks. Only individual schema objects that are modified or referenced are locked during DDL operations. The whole data dictionary is never locked
DDL locks fall into three categories: exclusive DDL locks, share DDL locks, and breakable parse locks.

Edited by: gromit on Feb 14, 2011 4:41 AMIt is not possible to perform it from a client. Is this correct? The datapump task itself can be started from a client, but - you are right - datapump is server-based. Especially that refers to the dumpfile location, which has to be defined as DIRECTORY on the server:

Is there a report showing all the DDL objects for one APP?
Hi,
Is there a report showing all the DDL objects for one APP?
I need to move an app to my workspace. The workspace I need to move it from has approx 20 applications in it, thus all the tables, procedures, etc are too many.
What way is the easiest?
I've looked at exporting the DDL and the app. and look to see what the app needs. But it has many pages.
Thank you, BillCHello Bill,
You might find the report in the following location to be helpful:

Duplicate Unique Key declaration in DDL export
Using v1.1.2.25 of the product, I performed a DDL export of selected tables and noted in the resulting file that my two Unique Keys were duplicated (created twice). This caused no real problem except a couple of error message that will confuse customers, so I have to manually extract the second declarations. Did I miss something, or is this a bug?
Define key_element as a key (or unique)! Check the schema specification at http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-1/#cIdentity-constraint_Definitions. If you're up to a challenge translate the specification from W3-ese to a meaningfult language, or take a short cut and read the example in section 3.11.2.
Support for keys in validation is sometimes spotty, but it's pretty easy to code up your own checks if needed. -
Data pump export single tables with specific criteria with the API
Hello, I'm trying to export some table data from a schema using dbms_datapump API, but it gives me problems and it takes too much time to elaborate and I don't understand why! I want to export data only in a dmp file, that I will use later to import in an other schema. I'm using Oracle 10g R2 .
I want to export data from TABLE1 and TABLE2, and ONLY the first 10 rows (this is for test now). I used the data_filter to write the subquery to filter the rows, and NAME_LIST to filter table names. I've set INCLUDE_METADATA to 0, to not export metadata. But it takes 10 minutes to run, and the output log says that there was an error (after 10 minutes??!):

I've had very little luck with NAME_LISTs. Though I know you can do similar with NAME_EXPR:

How Can I Export A Table With Its Entries ( values )
Hi guys,
How can i export a table with the entries that the table is populated with ??!!
Best Regards,
FatehTo export a table and its data you can do it a number of ways.. Do you have access to SQL Developer? If not you can do it through the APEX SQL Workshop..
Under SQL Workshop, Utilities, Data Unload, To text (or XML, whichever you are more comfortable with..).. Select your schema, click next button, select the table, click next, select the columns you want exported (select ALL ITEMS in the select List), click next, on optionally enclosed by I usually enter a " (Sometimes I have long strings in columns), click the include column names checkbox to get the column names at the top of the document, click unload data button..
To get the ddl (code to build table) Sql Workshop, utilities, generate ddl, create script, select schema, select next, click table checkbox, select next, click the checkbox of table you want to get ddl for...
Thank you,

BI 7 : Command to export a table structure of SAP R/3 into a script/text ?
Hi All.
Greetings.
Am New to SAP R/3 system. And request help.
We are trying to pull data from SAP R/3 thro Bussiness Objects Data Services into Oracle.
For now : we create a target oracle table looking at the table structure of SAP R/3 from SE 11.
In BODS, We then do the query transformation, and use the oracle target table created by us manually.
This works absolutely fine.
We would like to know the command by which we could export the table structure of any existing table
in SAP R/3 into a script / or to text file,
which we could use to create the same table structure in oracle.
Rather than manually typing some 200 field names for each tables.
Can anyone advise on this.
Thanks
InduHello,
The problem is caused due to the spaces in your directories
C:\SAP Dumps\Core Release SR1 Export_CD1_51019634/DB/ADA/DBSIZE.XML
Replace the spaces with underscores and restart the installation from from scratch.
Cheers

1) With the Access 2010(X86 or X64) and Access 2013 X86,it successes when I export the table to the DB Symfoware. But only with the Access 2013 X64,the Access crashed.
2)With the Access 2010(X86 or X64) and Access 2013(X86 or X64),using the Sql Srever/Oracle,it always successes .
According to all the descrived above, I wonder if it a bug of the Access2013 .
Could anyone can help me ?
Thanks for any help.George Zhao
Thank you for your help.
I have already install
the latest patches of the Office 2013.But it doesn't work.It is down also too. And ODBC
drive of Database Symfoware is the newest driver of the Database Symfoware. Now I wonder that
if it si a bug of the ODBC
drive of Database Symfoware,I should fix the bug,but I have analysised the odbc trace log and I do not find any wrongs ,so I think maybe it is a bug of the Access .
I have see many situations about the Access down on the internet . -
R3trans not exporting all tables
Hi
I am creating a control file to export SXNODES table
export
file = '/tmp/SXNODES_dmp'
delete * from 'SXNODES'
select * from 'SXNODES'
When I export, using R3trans, I get 0 entries exported. I used to be able to export this table until we upgraded to ENHP4
3 ETW678Xstart export of "R3TRCNTDSXNODES" ...
4 ETW000 0 entries from TADIR exported (R3TRCNTDSXNODES ).
4 ETW679 end export of "R3TRCNTDSXNODES".
3 ETW678Xstart export of "R3TRCNTDSXNODES" ...
4 ETW000 0 entries from SXNODES exported (000*).
4 ETW000 The corresponding TADIR entry was already selected before (R3TRCNTDSXNODES).
4 ETW679 end export of "R3TRCNTDSXNODES".
Any idea?Hi Prashant,
The error clearly says 'FAGLFLEXA-MANDT - is not a key field'
RCLNT is the key field for client for FAGLFLEXA table.
Also, as you already mentioned client=200 in the control file, there's no need to give a where clause for client.
select * from FALGLFLEXA will do.
Regards,
Sajith
