Incorrect language translation, buttons in sourcing screen

Hi,
I am working with SRM 5.0. In sourcing cockpit, the buttons in the lower half of the screen (in work area) appear in german text. Logon language is "English".
I have run report "BBP_GEN_DYN_TEXTS" and re-activated  function group "BBP_SOCO_UI_ITS". this has solved my transalation problem of other text on the same screen. Pls suggest.
Regards,
Prashant

  • French Language Translation Button

    Greetings,
Can somebody please direct or show me how to add a Translation button to my page. Am looking for it to go via Google - the best example I can find is like the one on this page: http://www.rugbyiq.com/
Also, once translated - will my translated (ie Google pages) still be registered as hits with my analytics (Statcounter and Google Analytics) counters?
Thanks - appreciate your help with this.

I think Tom is right Google translate is the best so far. I use it in my site but I inject the code I got from google translate to my page using MassReplaceIt.
I know that Google Translate allows you to select only the language you want, why not using their widget with only one language?
On my site: http://www.wesdotphotography.com/Sitemap.html you have choices, may be if you select only one choice in the code you will have only one box without dropdown choice.
Also I'm not sure on Google Analytics, if the person arrive to your english site and click on the translate button do you want Analytics count it as two visits?
    Hope this help

  • I need to look at a lot of websites in different languages. Google Chrome has a translate button and it's perfect - does Firefox have similar - I can't find it.

Because of my work I look through a lot of interenational - all round the world in fact, anywhere where English is not the native language. I normally use google chrome for these because of the Translate button which is brilliant. I just can't anything like this on Firefox. Am I missing something?

Firefox does not have a built-in feature but you can add something similar with the Google Dictionary and Google Translate extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/google-dictionary-and-google-t

  • SMARTFORMS - language translation (urgent)

    Hi,
I developed a smartform in English language. Now I want to translate this form into Finnish language. So, I went to SE63->Translation->R/3->Other long texts->Forms and styles->SSF. Provided the form name, source and target languages clicked the Edit button. In the edit screen, I inserted the translated hardcoded text in the target form. Then clicked save and activate. It says saved and activated.
My question is, how to checked the tranlated form now?
Anyone please let me know the proceedure. I will appreciate the help with points. Thanks

Please note that there is no need to create a smartform in multiple languages as we are doing in SAP scripts.
You can Copy the smarttform by setting a flag in smartforms :
Use T/code : SMARTFORMS --> enter Samrtform name --> Form Attributes --> General Attributes > Language attributes> Language--> Translate to selected langauges/all langauges.
    For Translations :
    Please use T/code SE63> Translation(Menubar) > R/3 Enterprise>Other long texts> SSF (Smartforms)>Enter Samrtformname-> Define source language and target langauge.
    or
    se63 -> translation -> R/3 Enterprise -> other Longtexts -> Smartforms -> select your form
    -> translate
    Hope this will help you.

  • Language translation in smartforms

In SE63, I tried to convert one smartform "LE_SHP_DELNOTE" from DE language to EN. When I click on EDIT button, I am getting two split windows, one for source and other for target. But the problem is I am getting DE language in both the source and target windows. It is not getting converted to english. But, for all other languages, it is getting translated, except english.
I rememebr, first time when I open it was workiing fine. But not sure what went wrong now. If anybody having any idea, please help me...

Did you make any change in the original form(DE) and activated without activating the translation? If so, the translation done would have been reverted.

  • Language translation of script

    Hi all,
I am working on a script in english language. I need to translate this script in to different languages. I gone through se63 but I could not understand how to translate. Can anybody help me how to convert the script into different languages.
    Thanks.

To create sapscript in multiple laguages use transaction SE71.
If you have copied the custom form from a standard SAP form, then you will often have copies in multiple languages delivered.  When creating from the sap form using the "Utilities-->Copy from Client" menu option there is a checkbox for "Original Language Only" that you should not select.
To create different language versions simply change the language on the SE71 initial screen and select the create button, and then select the menu option "Form-->Copy From" to copy your english version to the new language, and then save the new version.
You can then go into the text elements in the different language versions and put the appropriate texts in place.  The text elements for each language are stored separately.   You will only be able to add new windows etc in the main language version, and these are automatically copied into the other language versions.
To have some items not show in a given language, code an IF test based on the system language.

  • How can we make language translation in sap script?

    Hi expert,
Based on language i have to display text in sap script form.
please i like to know how to maintain language translation in sap script.
manually i am handling the language text in print program.
    like below.
    if language = 'EN'
       text in english.
    endif.
    if language = 'DE'
      text in German.
    endif.
good points will be given for proper answer.
    Thanks and regards,
    Pavan.

    Hello there!
If those texts are static, you can use the following procedure (to translate your text elements):
Go to SE63, then in the menu follow this path:
    Translation->ABAP Objects->Other Long Texts->FS (forms and styles)->FORM (Forms)
This will transport you for a screen where you can choose the script (Object -> field Object Name). Press Enter. If says object not found, it's because the source language is wrong (box below named translation -> field source language --- press F4 to change it)
After this, you'll navigate (after pressing Enter with correct language in source and choosing a correct one in target) to the transaltion screen. You'll have you text elements, original on top, your transalation below.
If those texts are dynamic, I believe you have to do the way you are doing.
    Hope this helps.

  • Language Translation in BW3.5

    Hi All,
We have a requirement to display user interface/reports in Spanish language. We are working on BW 3.5.
I am trying to set up the translation environment following the link on sdn     http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ad/06dcf4c4be11d291c70000e8a5f6e6/frameset.htm
I have done the setup for Target Language, Translation Client, Translation Graph, Object Types for Translation and Translator Profiles. Next step is to Assign Packages.
As per the steps given in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ad/06dcf4c4be11d291c70000e8a5f6e6/frameset.htm:
    1. Call up transaction SLWA.
    2. Select your target language under the tab title Target language.
    3. Choose the tab title Packages.
    4. You first need to select the packages that you want to assign to a translator.
    5. You can now see the number of packages you have selected under Selection.
    6. Choose Assign from the application toolbar.
A dialog box appears containing a list of all the translators that are defined for the target language you have selected.
However at the sixth step, to assign packages for translation, the only options I see are: Lock, Translate, Package Info and Lock globally. I do not see a 'Assign' button as mentioned in the online help.
Does anyone have an idea? I am not able to proceed further without assigning packages. Your help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    - Sangeeta

  • Graphics in Language Translation

Platform: WinXP 64-bit / Adobe CS5 Design Premium
    Hi,
Is there a preferred method for handling graphics (and leaders/callouts) in InDesign for language translation? And while I'm at it, ditto for content reuse.
I realize that translation & single-sourcing are two gigantic topics so I'll keep this question basic. In the screenshot I pasted below, the top graphic was done in Illustrator - including the leaders and callouts - and pasted as a whole into InDesign.
The bottom graphic was placed into InDesign minus the leaders & callouts, which were then added directly in InDesign.
We are looking into translating our manuals into four or five languages; being new to this, we'd like to know if one method of placing graphics/leaders/callouts is better than the other to facilitate language translation.
As far as single-sourcing goes, I'm at a loss as to which would work better. If I select a callout that was added in InDesign and view it in the story editor, obviously only that callout shows up. Any callouts are assigned a paragraph style; I've imported docbook & started creating a mapping of paragraph styles to basic xml tags. Ok the more I look at this babble I'm going to nix this part of the question...
If you've dealt with graphics & callouts in language translations (successfully or not) I would love to hear from you. Thanks!
    Dan

First off - as usual, Bob is dead right about XP64. InDesign isn't the only relevant application to be known to be wonky on XP64 - most of the the translation memory tools I've used have also been reported to behave in unpredictable ways on XP64. However, when InDesign drops the ball, you can tell - this is not always the case when your Chinese text (that you can't read) is slowly being corrupted by your TM tool.
Anyways, I am the nerd-of-all-trades in a language service provider, and I'd have to say that the answer to your question would require some serious investigation into your workflow - investigation that, to be completely frank, would only be worthwhile to someone who was going to get paid at the end. First you'd have to ask the question "Are we jobbing the whole deal out to a third party, or are we going to do some of the work in-house?" This has a sheaf of attendant questions ("Are we relying on our language service provider to maintain translation memories for us, or are we going to do it ourselves?" "To what extent do we already have the linguistic expertise in-house?" "To what extent are our layout jockeys going to want to learn to manage this stuff?") and each one of those answers leads to a decision-tree that requires still more answers in order to get to answers.
I deal with all kinds of files, some built with XML-driven content management in mind, others made by people who learned on Publisher and draw a separate text box for each paragraph. Each kind of document-construction strategy has advantages and drawbacks, and "where are the captions?" is surprisingly deep. You could use the Captions feature in ID - but that kind of in-ID automation has consequences for the translation team, depending on whether they're using a translation tool to process the IDML files, or if they're working directly in ID, or if they're threading stories and running text out in RTF format, or if they're checking out stories with InCopy or etc. etc. etc.
Big tech-translation firms have the resources to start answering these questions for you, because they want your money.   If you know how far you're going to go w/r/t outsourcing vs. in-house content management, start shopping around and their sales guys will happily promise you all kinds of impossible services. If you want an independent point of view, you actually want someone to sit down with you, closely examine your current monolingual workflow, discuss the linguistic resources you want to bring to bear on it, and then think about how you're doing your captions. Just don't do your images as TIFFs so the poor ol' DTP jockey has to open up 1000 tech diagrams in Photoshop and manually erase the rasterized captions and re-make 'em in Illy or ID; that way you won't rack up unnecessary DTP charges.
But, with all three paragraphs of disclaimer above, I can say this: You'll most likely (uhh, 80% chance?) be better off if you can keep all of your text in final layout format in a single application. That might be InDesign, or frankly, it might be FrameMaker.

  • Opening a new Window/Application without losing control of source Screen

    Hi,
I  am displaying two tables with some columns. Some one of the columns have an hyperlink which would open a new window.
Now in my case reqirement is that, user should be able to open multipme window and should be able to modify or proces some data on source screen( where two table are displayed).
But when I open a new window by pop up, i am loosing the control of the source screen.
How can i solve this issue?
Do I need to call saprate application and then probably I will not loose the control?
    Thanks
    PG

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for the reply.
So let's say in my case,
Step 1:  I have called a new application and made some changes to som data.
Step 2:  Then I press Save button in new window or application to save the chages.
Step 3:  After pressing Save button, the second application get's closed and on the calling application one row will be
appended into the table and will be reflected on calling application.
To perform step 3, I need to communicate with calling application. Or in other word , I have to call back the source application .
So instead of communicating, I think I can just call back the source application again and It will be displayed with updated data! ( The only case is, it will execute or refresh the whole application instead of one table, which would slow down the performance)
Or do you think, in this case something else could be done to update table on source application?
    Regards
    PG

  • Missing Transfer to Central System button in CPPR screen

    Hi
I am Working on SRM7.0 and ERP ehp4.
Trying to transfer PR from ERP to SRM Shopping cart using CPPR.
I created PR in ECC ->now displayed PR in Portal ->select PR and click Start collective processing button-> i could not find Transfer to Central System button in CPPR screen.
I believe only after clicking this button,i can transfer the PR to SRM shopping cart. Pls confirm.
Only two things i left to do in CPPR setting is badi and linkage setting, because Rfx is not required now.
    1)BADI setting  ME_REQ_SOURCING_CUST
    Planning to activate only
    Method IF_EX_ME_REQ_SOURCE_CUST~ACTIVE
parameter cv_ext_sc_ind   = cl_mmpur_constants=>yes. "SC creation in SRM possible
I am going to leave blank for method.
method IF_EX_ME_REQ_SOURCE_CUST~CHECK_EXTERNAL_SOURCE because i want manual click to convert Shopping cart.
    2)Activate linkage setting
Here i am not going to activate RFX.because i am currently testing only PR to Shopping cart.
BOR Object Type BUS2105 RFXREQUESTED WS53800009  - not going to activate
BOR Object Type BUS2105 SOURCINGREQUESTED WS53800009 - plan to activate.
Because of lacking above setting, i am not getting Transfer to central system button? pls confirm.
    Regards
    Ckumar

    Hello,
    Method 1: IF_EX_ME_REQ_SOURCE_CUST~ACTIVE:
Here, three output parameters need to be set to true. By default, coding from the sample class will be copied. There is no need to modify anything here.
When the parameter CV_AUT_SOURCING is set to true, external sourcing (e.g. SAP SRM system) is active in SAP ERP system
When the parameter CV_EXT_RFX_IND is set to true, RFx can be created out of PR directly from SAP ERP system using application CPPR
When the parameter CV_EXT_SC_IND is set to true, PR in SAP ERP system will be transferred to SAP SRM using application CPPR
    Method 2: IF_EX_ME_REQ_SOURCE_CUST~CHECK_EXTERNAL_SOURCE:
This method has output parameter CV_EXT_SOURCING. When the output parameter variables are set, the Purchase Request will be transferred to SAP SRM without any manual interaction in Collaborative Processing of Purchase Requisition (CPPR). Hence the code logic here needs to be adopted based on parameters in the Purchase Request (e.g. material group and purchasing group can be used as parameters to determine the Purchase Request to be transferred to SAP SRM).
A sample code logic for purchasing group u2018E7Uu2019 and material groups QZA04 and QZA05 is given below:
    IF ( is_req_item-ekgrp = 'E7U' AND is_req_item-matkl = 'QZA04' ) OR ( is_req_item-ekgrp = 'E7U' AND is_req_item-matkl = 'QZA05' ). cv_ext_sourcing = cl_mmpur_constants=>yes.
Activate event type linkages for external sourcing
Run transaction SWETYPV in SAP ERP system.
Ensure that the following entries are present:
    BOR Object Type
    BUS2105
    RFXREQUESTED
    WS53800009
       No errors
    BOR Object Type
    BUS2105
    SOURCINGREQUESTED
    WS53800009
       No errors
If they are not present then copy the entry for event u2018Createdu2019 for object type u2018BUS2105u2019 and Receiver Type u2018WS53800009u2019 and change the event name.
Note : Workflow event RFXREQUESTED is used to trigger XML message while creating SAP SRM RFx from Collective Processing of Purchase Requirements (CPPR).
