InDesign CS4: Programm plötzlich in Englisch, nichts geht mehr

Nach dem Öffnen des Programms plötzlich alles in Englisch, nur noch Menüleiste verfügbar, kein Steuerungsbedienfeld, keine Werkzeugpaletten, keine Shortcuts, geöffnetes Dokument wie eingefroren. Nach Neuinstallation keine Änderung.
Adobe bietet kein Support für CS4 mehr an und empfiehlt Upgrade auf CS6 . Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen? Vielen Dank!

Sorry, bei mir ist nun das gleiche Problem passiert - Indesign auch nur noch in englisch und ohne Steuerungsbedienfeld, keine Werkzeugpaletten. Indesign CS4 läuft aber seit Jahren gut auf Vista. Was kann denn da passiert sein? Ich habe keine neue Software installiert. Allerdings wollte javascript ein update installieren - das hab ich zaer erlaubt, aber weiß nicht so recht, was meine Viren- u. schutzprogramme da wirklich durchgelassen haben.
Im Dateiexplorer haben die INDD-Dateien auch nicht mehr das Logo von Indesign, sondern das vom Acrobat und zum Öffnen wird auch nicht Indesign vorgeschlagen, sondern Acrobat.
Den Adope Support Advisor habe ich drüber laufen lassen. Er meldet:
Bei der Prüfung konnten keine Probleme festgestellt werden. Wenden Sie sich bitte an den Adobe Support.

Nichts geht mehr - apps werden nicht geladen in CC

Hallo, nachdem ganze Zeit schon apps nicht aktualisiert werden konnten habe ich mit CC cleaner alles deinstalliert und wollte neu laden - aber nichts läd, Im app reiter dreht nur ein Rad. Was ist das Problem und wo kam es plötzlich her? Ich muss dringend ein studi-Projekt machen :-(

Eigentlich sollten die Programme mit dem Uninstaller oder mit den Systemfunktionen deinstalliert werden können. Gibt es sowas wie eine Rechte-Repartur? Das Problem ist ja, dass auch ganz eine Menge unsichtbarer Dateien da sind, wenn die nicht weg sind, dann kann nicht drüber installiert werden, zumindest dann, wenn eventuell Rechte das Löschen verhindern. Diese unsichtbaren Dateien sind ja nicht nur an einem Ort. Am Mac würde ich die Rechte reparieren.
Was passiert wenn Du einen neuen Administrator anlegst und als dieser installierst?

UC560-BRI nichts geht mehr

Guten Abend!
Vorab möchte ich mich kurz vorstellen. Mein Name ist Thomas und ich bin ein "Newbie" im Bereich der CISCO Technologie. In der Vergangenheit habe ich eher Netgear, HP und Dell Produkte betreut - und da eher die Welt der Netzwerke und Serveradministration.
Nun habe ich zum 01.02. einen neuen Job bei einer Firma bekommen und mich direkt um ein Projekt "Aufbau einer VoIP-Anlage" in einer Außenstelle beworben. Dies Missfiel meinem Gruppenleiter ein wenig (wäre wohl lieber auf Firmenkosten geflogen), aber der Chef mochte wohl meinen Ergeiz und hat mich nun losgeschickt.
Die Telefone sollen am MONTAG in der Zweigstelle funktionsfähig stehen und laufen. Das tat diese auch zu meinem erstaunen recht gut. Nun geht jedoch gar nichts mehr :-(. Während ich die Anlage auf Factory Restore setzte (weil ich immer wieder ein Problem mit dem Dialer hatte) ging um Punkt 18:00 Uhr der Strom aus. Mitten im Restore/Formatierung. Nun geht gar nix mehr. An das UC komme ich nur noch über die Console und da kenne ich mich quasi gar nicht aus.
Die Box bietet mir das CCA nicht mehr und ich weiß nicht mehr weiter.
Auf gar keinen Fall rufe ich den Chef an, sonst kommt ein Spruch "Hochmut kommt vor dem Fall" und dieses Projekt wollte ich unbedingt - ich bin inzwischen ziemlich verzweifelt. Wer kann mir helfen.
Dem Tippgeber der das Ding zum laufen bringt schicke ich - nicht nur virtuell - einen Kasten Bier oder Wein - oder auch Wasser für die Alkoholiker unter uns :-)

Guten Abend Forum!
Ich hatte am Abend noch den Fehler gefunden und die Box wieder booten und dann mit CCA konfigurieren können.
Telefonie läuft über PSTN wunderbar und alle User konfiguriert. Obgleich ich sagen muß die Konfiguration von
Cisco Geräten liegt zwischen Genialität und Wahnsinn
Leider war die Heizung aus und ich hab mir den Arsch abgefroren - die letzten Tage lag ich mit Fieber im Bett.
So geht es dahin das Wochenende . Aber egal, Box läuft. Gott sei Dank. Lediglich die Einwahl mit T-Online
macht probleme. Einmal lief es sauber. Dann WAN Kabel gezogen und neu eingesteckt. Dann wird
so lange mit falschem PWD (9x) angemeldet, dass ich bei T-Online gesperrt werde (Nur aus Interesse).
Eine Idee? PPPoE, IP Negotiated und dann Kennung u. Passwort. Kann es zu problemen mit den DynDNS Daten
kommen? Ich begreife es nicht - einmal funzt. Dann nicht mehr - und das reproduzierbar...
Grundsätzlich soll die Box wie folgt angeschlossen werden (daher Dialer nur von Interesse):

eine CD - aber keine Datei oder Aktivierungsnummer. Oder kann man die
Datei nur unter Linux lesen?

Nun kann ich den MySQL Server in der DMZ pingen aber Daten kann ich
nicht abrufen. Gibt es hier nocht irgendeine Route die eingestellt werden
muß? Wie gesagt Cisco ist völliges Neuland.

Indesign CS4 reagiert nicht - Sat-Kugel

Nach einer Neuinstallation der CS4 Suite nach Festplattencrash läuft InDesign nicht mehr.
Das Programm reagiert nicht mehr nach öffnen eines neuen Dokumentes (Zeitrad läuft endlos).
Neuinstallation brachte auch keine Änderung.
Cache-Speicher wurde auch schon gelöscht.
Alle anderen Adobe CS4 Programme funktionieren tadellos.

Ja, doof, ne? Da du uns keinerlei sinnvolle informationen zu deinem System gegeben hast, wirst du da wohl lange warten können...

hoffe auf Hilfe!!
Habe eine neue Arbeitsstelle und dort ist InDesign CS4 installiert auf einem XP Rechner, wenn das Programm läuft und man "klickt" in der unteren Symboleleiste auf das Desktopsymbol dann stürzt InDesign ab?!?
Was ist da los?????? ich bin ratlos!!

Hallo Maran,
mit CS4 direkt arbeite ich nicht. Aber an meinem Arbeitsplatz läuft CS5 problemlos unter XP.
Es gibt aber Einschränkungen, wenn nicht das aktuelle Servicepack (derzeit 3) installiert ist.
Aber dein Problem deutet eher auf andere Schwachstellen wie fehlender Speicherplatz oder Konflikt mit anderen Anwendungen.
Ich bin ja absolut kein Spezialist, aber empfehle dir doch, ausführlich und der Reihe nach auszuführen, wieviel freier Festplattenplatz, RAM-Speicher verfügbar sind und ob gleichzeitig andere Programme (welche) am laufen sind.

Indesign CS4: Dateilinks in PDFs

Hallo!
Einige Fragen an die, die das schon mal hingekriegt haben
In Indesign CS4 kann man Hyperlinks zu Dateien erstellen. Das funktioniert aber nicht wie erwartet.
Sprich, der Hyperlink ist, da das Protokoll file: verwendet wird, einer der den Browser öffnet.
Nun will ich aber in einem PDF, das ich mit Indesign erstelle, einen Link haben, der ein anderes PDF öffnet.
Klar, ich kann sowas nachträglich mit Acrobat einfügen. Aber es sollte, verständlicherweise, durch Export des PDFs aus Indesign auch gehen, denn sonst viel Arbeit jedes Mal, wenn ich das Dokument aktualisiere.
Hat sich Adobe da nur vertan? Oder muß ich ein Plugin haben, das das korrigiert?
Ich meine, wenn ich eine Datei auswähle, dann wird neben file: der komplette Pfad mit angegeben, den ich zum Glück noch ändern kann.
Weil, der Anwender, der meine PDFs später bekommt, hat die alle zusammen in einem beliebigen Pfad. In Acrobat kann man Links erzeugen,
die direkt eine Datei aufrufen. Das müßte doch auch über Indesign gehen oder wofür wäre die Funktion sonst da?

Sicherheitsgründe? Aus einem PDF heraus etwas öffnen? Heutzutage Gang und Gebe. Und ein anderes PDF öffnen ist kein Ding der Sicherheit.
Generell ist Acrobat natürlich die Lösung, aber die Links, die ich in Indesign verwalten kann, kommen so nicht rüber nach Acrobat.
Mache ich ein PDF, sind das Hyperlinks auf Dateien. Ich kann dann im Acrobat aber nicht sagen "mach mir alle Hyperlinks zu Dateilinks", oder?
Wüßte zumindest keine Funktion. Zumal ich hier noch Acrobat 5 habe.
In Acrobat die Links zu erstellen ist extrem mühsam und müßte halt nach jedem Export des PDFs aus Indesign heraus wiederholt werden.
Oder ich müßte nur die veränderten Seiten exportieren, in dem vorherigen PDF die dann alle ersetzen und bei denen, die nicht ersetzt wurden und wo Links drin sind, passen die dann noch. Das ist nicht gerade, was man effektiven Workflow nennt. Mal angenommen, man hätte 50 Links in einem Dokument...
Das muß doch auch anders gehen!

Upgrading Indesign CS4 from Creative Suite 3

Is it possible to upgrade only Indesign CS4 from Creative Suite 3 or do I have to buy the whole Creative Suite 4?
I bought an upgrade for Indesign CS4, but now I can use it only as a testversion, because when I start the programme
it asks me besides the new serial number for Indesign 4 also for a serial number of CS3.
But I have only one serial number for the complete Creative Suite and this one will not be accepted.
What can I do?

Indesign CS4 colour issues with Onyx 7.3 RIP

Hi all. I understand that Onyx Production house and postershop are having problems with colours dropping to white or changing to a completely different colour when sent from Indesign CS4 or a PDF created from the programme. I want to swap to indesign completely, but find myself having to go back to Quark, because the results I get in the rip from indesign files are so random. Has anyone found a solid work around?

InDesign can often send more complex postscript than the other apps, it is after all, dealing with a lot more types of information all at the same time. The problem comes in when ID invokes a part of the Postscript standard that hasn't been properly implemented in the RIP.
As you've seen, a workaround that commonly is successful is to export, or even print, to PDF, and sned tot he RIP from Acrobat.

Problem with German InDesign CS4 Trial

Since the last week im trying to use the Adobe InDesign CS4 Trial Version on my Computer but i does not work really. I have downloadet the German Version but after the installation it runs in Englisch and the Toolbars on the left and the right side are missing. Before i'm using the CS3 Version at the same Computer and it works perfekt. I tried the CS4 Trial on an different Computer in our office and it works perfekt but this Computer have Microsoft Windows XP Professional.
I read in the System requirements that Vista 64bit is not zertified but why does the CS3 work perfekt and the CS4 make those Problems?
I hope anybody can held me......

I have been struggling with bookmarking issues for years here on CS4. I am not bookmarking text frames, simply bookmarking pages, but I have been having problems as described. I thought I researched it thoroughly online, but I was so relieved to find and try this option today.
I have a 50 page InDesign price book. Every page is bookmarked. After exporting as a PDF some of the bookmarks work fine and some take me to the wrong page. In InDesign CS4, I can click through the bookmarks and everything works as expected. Every bookmark takes me to the page I assigned it to...perfect! However, once exported as a PDF I have issues. In Preview (Mac OS 10.8) or Adobe Reader, some bookmarks are fine and some direct me to the incorrect page. I tried Adobe Reader thinking maybe the issue was with Preview, but not only is the problem with both programs--they error consistently. The bookmarks take me to the same incorrect page in both Preview and Reader.
Exporting as a INX file and reimporting into InDesign CS4 is the only way I have been able to get this to work. I originally switched to InDesign for two reasons: 1. I was experiencing the same problem in Adobe Acrobat when assigning bookmarks so I hoped using another program would help. 2. I am rebuilding the price book page by page in InDesign. (Some pages just pull from a PDF document and some are original--created in InDesign CS4. Eventually all pages will be InDesign original files. I'm not sure those details matter, but that is what I have for content in my document.)

Adobe InDesign CS4 Debug WIN Installation

I need to port an InDesign CS3 plugin to InDesign CS4. In order to do that I've installed the Adobe InDesign CS4 Debug WIN but when I'm trying to start the application I receive the following error message in German: "Diese Anwendung konnte nicht gestartet werden, weil die Anwendungskonfiguration nicht korrekt ist. Zur Problembehebung sollten Sie die Anwendung neu installieren.". In english this should mean something like "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Try to reinstall the application.".
The box I've tried installing on has visual studio C++ 2005 SP1 and InDesign CS3 Debug already installed (which works fine). I've looked through the requirements in the "InDesign® CS4 Read Me" and couldn't find anything that I'm missing.
Any ideas?

Hi Folks,
ID CS4 Debug and ID CS3 Debug can be installed on the same system. The likely reason that the CS4 version is giving that error is because the CS4 version needs some Visual Studio 2005 SP1 DLLs that aren't installed on the computer.
I believe that there are a couple of ways to fix this. One is to install Visual Studio 2005 SP1 (the recommended setup for CS4 plug-in development). When you install SP1 the DLLs needed by ID CS4 Debug will be installed. The other way, I think, is to not SP1, but install the release version of ID CS4 on your system. I understand that the ID CS4 Release version installer will install the DLLs needed by the debug version.
However, if you use VS2005 (no SP1 installed) for CS4 plug-in development you will not be using the recommended development environment for CS4. But if you install SP1, and you want to develop plug-ins for CS3, you will not be using the recommended development environment for CS3 plug-in development. Go figure.
Please note that once you install VS2005 SP1, any plug-ins that you compile will be looking for the SP1 version of the C/C++ Runtime DLLs when the plug-in is launched. The needed DLLs will be on your development system, so everything will seem fine when you test your CS3 plug-ins on your development computer. But when the plug-in is launched on a machine without the SP1 DLLs installed, the plug-in will not run.
I'm not sure of the best way to deal with this (I'm mainly a Mac guy), but there was a thread here entitled
Visual Studio 2005 SP1 about this issue a while back. This thread was partially deleted due to a forum software problem, and one of the ideas that was mentioned was lost from the message thread. From your original error message, the problem is most likely with the installation of the C/C++ SP1 runtime DLL on the machine that does not have the compiler. It's not so simple nowadays as copying over the DLLs, because Microsoft invented the side-by-side system, that allows having several versions of the same file on one machine.
Your options are installing the runtime on each machine (a package for that is available from Microsoft Download) or changing your project to the static runtime ("Multithreaded" instead of "Multithreaded DLL"). I always use static linking in plugins with no problems, although Adobe specifies dynamic in their instructions, but you avoid these "DLL hell" problems.

Yes, that project change should do it. The difference is that with the "DLL" version, your plugin loads the C/C++ runtime shared library (DLL) at runtime and calls it for any needed functions (like strcpy, malloc, etc.). Without the "DLL", the linker puts the C/C++ runtime code directly into your plugin and you don't need the C/C++ runtime SP1 DLL (the error you're getting is because your plugin required the DLL and it's not found on that machine).
The C++ SP1 runtime shared library is different from the C++ non-SP1 library InDesign uses. In this new Windows "side-by-side" scheme, both can live together.
If you use the exact same C/C++ runtime that Adobe uses, then that library is physically shared and it allows to do some "risky" things as e.g. allocating memory in one module (e.g. InDesign) and freeing it in another (e.g. your plugin). But this is usually not recommended and I don't think Adobe is doing it (but then it's only my impression from the code structure).
Anyhow, from the moment you use the SP1 compiler, you're not sharing the runtime any more with InDesign, so it doesn't matter if you compile "MultiThreaded" instead of "MultiThreaded DLL". The difference between these is the size of the plugin and the easyness of distribution, and without DLL you miss possible "automatic" updates of the C++ runtime DLL (because the C/C++ runtime code is embedded in your plugin), but lately new versions of the C/C++ runtime become "different" DLLs, as you can see, so that's not so relevant any more - or if it's critical, you can always recompile your plugin and redistribute if needed.

the failure notice is about updating add ons. Now I got them all, but it does'nt work either. Does this problem sound familiar to anyone or is there a pro who can help?

The exact error is (in german):
"...indd" kann nicht geöffnet werde. Aktualisieren Sie Ihre Zusatzmodule auf die aktuelle Version oder rüsten Sie auf die aktuelle Version von Adobe InDesign auf.
I try to translate:
"...indd" can not be opened. Update your additional tools on the actual (new) version or update on the actual (new) version of Adobe InDesign.
I use the computers in my university, so I do'nt have any rights to update. But earlier this day I asked one of the admins and he updated his own pc (which has got the same version and updates of InDesign CS4). It did'nt work either and it was the same error.

InDesign CS4: Navigator weg?

vielleicht sehe ich den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht, aber ich entdecke das Navigator-Fenster in InDesign CS4 nicht mehr. Früher unter dem Menüpunkt Fenster -> Objekt und Layout zu finden, fehlt bei mir unter CS4 der Eintrag.
Sollte der Navigator in der neuen Version weggefallen sein?
Vielleicht kann jemand eine Antwort darauf geben.

habe die Frage selbst klären können.
Tatsächlich ist das Navigator-Bedienfeld weg rationalisiert worden. Ein Zoom-Auswahlfeld befindet sich jetzt in der neuen Application-Bar am oberen Bildschirmrand und navigiert wird über die Navigator-Hand (Leertaste). Wird zum Verschieben der Ansicht das Handwerkzeug aktiviert und man hält die Maustaste gedrückt, verkleinert sich die Seitenansicht und es erscheint das vom Navigator bekannte rote Rechteck. Mit der Maus kann man dieses an die gewünschte Stelle schieben und beim Loslassen wird der gewählte Bereich in der entsprechenden Zoomstufe angezeigt. Der Clou ist, dass man das rote Rechteck über die Pfeiltasten in der Größe ändern kann und damit ändert sich dann die Zoomstufe in der Ansicht für den gewählten Bereich.
Klingt so nicht schlecht, ich muss mich aber erstmal umgewöhnen.
Ich frag mich nur, warum man diese Änderung nur in InDesign vorgenommen hat? Photoshop und Illu haben auch in CS4 weiterhin einen Navigator. Eine einheitliche Bedienbarkeit sieht doch anders aus.

Lesezeichen erstellt in InDesign CS4 - ohne Funktion in Acrobat

Hallo zusammen,
ich erstelle mit InDesign CS4 (PC mit XP) Kataloge, hinterlege Überschriften als Lesezeichen und exportiere die Dateien als PDF (Acrobat 9).
Beim Öffnen mit Acrobat werden die Lesezeichen zwar dargestellt, jedoch sind diese ohne Funktion, d.h. beim Klicken wird man nicht auf die Zielseite verwiesen. Ich habe gerade sämtliche neuen Updates für CS4 und Acrobat installiert, der Fehler ist immer noch da.
Die InDesign Datei besteht aus mehreren Sprachversionen, die als Ebenen angelegt sind. Bei den Exporteinstellungen für PDF wähle ich jeweils die ausgewählte Ebene an. Hier habe ich schon alle möglichen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten erfolgslos versucht.
In weiteren Foreneinträgen gibt es Benutzer mit ähnlichen Problemen. Bei mir funktionieren die Lesezeichen jedoch auch ohne Passwortschutz nicht.
Handelt es sich hier um ein Programmfehler von InDesign oder Acrobat?
Ich wäre sehr dankbar, wenn mir jemand einen Tipp geben könnte, da dieser Fehler mich seit längerem sehr ärgert.

Keine Ahnung, aber kann mich ganz vage daran erinnern, dass da mal in der Page ein Tip stand. Glaube es liegt wohl daran, dass die Elemente generell jeder Sprache erst zugeordnet werden müssen, sonst geht da nix. Irgendwo in dne Ebeneneinstellungen drin... Ansonsten verstehe ich aber nicht den Aufwand. Wenn richtige Absatzformate verwendet werden, wird doch eh jede Überschrift in ein Lesezeichen konvertiert. Ist vielleicht eher ein Problem, dass du's manuell machst und damit den Automatismen entgegenwirkst....
