Inerconnect smtp and ftp adapter

Does anybody know if it is possible (and how) to change the name of the files generated by the smtp and ftp adapter. for exmple I want to give a fail created by the ftp adapter an extension .csv.
How can I arange this??
Thanks,
Edward

Why don't you try using the FileModificationTime as DirListing in the Activation Spec. If the activation spec is configured that way, it parses the timestamp from the Directory Listing.

  • FILE and FTP Adapter file size limit

    Hi,
    Oracle SOA Suite ESB related:
    I see that there is a file size limit of 7MB for transferring using File and FTP adapter and that debatching can be used to overcome this issue. Also see that debatching can be done only for strucutred files.
    1) What can be done to transfer unstructured files larger than 7MB from one server to the other using FTP adapter?
    2) For structured files, could someone help me in debatching a file with the following structure.

    Ok Here are the steps
    1. Create an inbound file adapter as you normally would. The schema is opaque, set the polling as required.
    2. Create an outbound file adapter as you normally would, it doesn't really matter what xsd you use as you will modify the wsdl manually.
    3. Create a xsd that will read your file. This would typically be the xsd you would use for the inbound adapter. I call this address-csv.xsd.
    4. Create a xsd that is the desired output. This would typically be the xsd you would use for the outbound adapter. I have called this address-fixed-length.xsd. So I want to map csv to fixed length format.
    5. Create the xslt that will map between the 2 xsd. Do this in JDev, select the BPEL project, right-click -> New -> General -> XSL Map
    6. Edit the outbound file partner link wsdl, the the jca operations as the doc specifies, this is my example.
    <jca:binding  />
            <operation name="MoveWithXlate">
          <jca:operation
              InteractionSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileIoInteractionSpec"
              SourcePhysicalDirectory="foo1"
              SourceFileName="bar1"
              TargetPhysicalDirectory="C:\JDevOOW\jdev\FileIoOperationApps\MoveHugeFileWithXlate\out"
              TargetFileName="purchase_fixed.txt"
              SourceSchema="address-csv.xsd"
              SourceSchemaRoot ="Root-Element"
              SourceType="native"
              TargetSchema="address-fixedLength.xsd"
              TargetSchemaRoot ="Root-Element"
              TargetType="native"
              Xsl="addr1Toaddr2.xsl"
              Type="MOVE">
          </jca:operation> 7. Edit the outbound header to look as follows
        <types>
            <schema attributeFormDefault="qualified" elementFormDefault="qualified"
                    targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/file/"
                    xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
                    xmlns:FILEAPP="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/file/">
                <element name="OutboundFileHeaderType">
                    <complexType>
                        <sequence>
                            <element name="fileName" type="string"/>
                            <element name="sourceDirectory" type="string"/>
                            <element name="sourceFileName" type="string"/>
                            <element name="targetDirectory" type="string"/>
                            <element name="targetFileName" type="string"/>
                        </sequence>
                    </complexType>
                </element>
            </schema>
        </types>   8. the last trick is to have an assign between the inbound header to the outbound header partner link that copies the headers. You only need to copy the sourceDirectory and SourceGileName
        <assign name="Assign_Headers">
          <copy>
            <from variable="inboundHeader" part="inboundHeader"
                  query="/ns2:InboundFileHeaderType/ns2:fileName"/>
            <to variable="outboundHeader" part="outboundHeader"
                query="/ns2:OutboundFileHeaderType/ns2:sourceFileName"/>
          </copy>
          <copy>
            <from variable="inboundHeader" part="inboundHeader"
                  query="/ns2:InboundFileHeaderType/ns2:directory"/>
            <to variable="outboundHeader" part="outboundHeader"
                query="/ns2:OutboundFileHeaderType/ns2:sourceDirectory"/>
          </copy>
        </assign>you should be good to go. If you just want pass through then you don't need the native format set to opaque, with no XSLT
    cheers

  • How to generate .pdx file using File Adapter and FTP Adapter

    Hi,
    is it possible to genearate .pdx file using oracle ESB Adapters(File Adapter and FTP adapter).
    Can you anyone guide me.
    Thanks,
    Raj.

    hi,
    regarding report, there is a dedicated report forum. you should post there.
    but answer for your question is form is nothing to do with the pdf generation. you can call the report from the as usual.
    In the report you should set the properties like
    destype to 'file'
    desname to 'path with file name'
    desformat to 'pdf'

    YES, very much possible. Only with CRUD operation on a table is possible.
    Please refer the below URL, where you can see the multiple check box selected under "Perform an operation on a table" under Operation Type.

  • Difference between File adapter and FTP adapter

    hi,
    I would like to know what is the difference between File adapter and FTP adapter
    thanks
    Yatan

    Both file and ftp adapters are non-concurrent jca adaps, however we go for file adapters mostly when you have files on your local environment and do not need to wait for someone to FTP the files on a timely basis. In case of FTP Adapter, we would need an FTP Server, a remote location with access where in files pitch in for polling.
    Also, File adapter is dependent on the local folder and OS, however FTP adapter is dependent on the local as well as the remote file system/OS/folder permissions/user access.

  • BPEL process with DB adapter and FTP adapter

    Hi ,
    i need to read a table contents using DB Adpter after recieving the data i need to write a swich condition on column value of each record and dependin og the criteria i need to write the record in an appropriate file
    can any one help me out by giving any similar reference BPEL process
    regards,
    Anasuya Vemuri.

    Hi,
    Configure the DB Adapter as a service in your composite which does polling the table in the DB, there are many settings in polling, make your selection according to your business needs. Configure the FTP Adapter as a reference in the Composite. And use switch activity inside the BPEl if you want to check something like if else cases. And invoke the FTP Adapter and before that populate the invoke input variable values using assign activity copy operation. Make sure you create connection factories for both adapters and populate the important attributes for them in the SOA Admin Console.

  • Simple Questions about ESB and ftp adapter.

    We have the following Business Scenario:
    We have a partner company that provide us a ftp server with some files. We need to transfer these files from this server to other server, we don't need to read the file's content, we just need transfer the files.
    We are planning to use ESB in order to implement this solution but we have the following questions:
    Is it possible use the ftp adapter in order to transfer the files?
    Is there any example available about (Schema is Opaque feature) on a ftp adapter?
    Thanks
    Ramiro Ortiz

    Thank you very much for your reply.
    . I am trying to construct a FTP ( get) adapter with which I would like to do a simple FTP transfer from /var/out directory server xxx.oms.com (say) to a directory /home/in on the server bos1.oms.com (say) could not figure out this in jdeveloper 10.1.3.3 ( do i need upgraded jdeveloper?). The esb server and control exists on server bos1.oms.com. While constructing the adapter in jdeveloper it asks for physical directory? Is this the directory where it will the read the file from? How do I specify if the directory exists on the different server.
    is it something like xxx.oms.com:/var/out
    Please let me know.

  • Urgent ! BPEL file and ftp adapter problem.

    Hi All!
    I have created a bpel process having two partner links.One for the ftp adapter and one for the file adapter. I want the ftp adapter to poll the *.pdf files in the specified directory on the remote machine periodically and get them to my local machine here. For this I am using ftp adapter with read operation and with opaque schemas(because I want the files as they are without any transformation). I am using a receive activity with the ftp adapter, with the create instance box checked.
    To write the file to the local machine I am using file adapter and write operation.File adapter also uses opaque schema.With this file adapter I am using invoke activity.Invoke is below the receive activity in the bpel process. I deployed this successfully on the default domain. I want the bpel process to run automatically,depending on the polling frequency given and create instances and bring the files to my machine.
    But it is not happening.
    Can anybody tell me where I am going wrong.How to accomplish this? It is very urgent issue for me.
    Thanking in advance,
    Regards,
    Deepika.

    Hi All!
    Now I am able to write files and also read files successfully with the remote server. I followed the same method described above.I am using binary format itself for pdf files.But I have to check the option 'to delete files after successful retrieval' to make this happen.I created several partnerlinks with the option in the ftp adapter not checked,but it is not working. Has anybody done successful retrieval without deleting the files at the remote server? If so please let me know.
    Thanking in advance,
    Regards,
    Deepika.

  • ESB FTP adapter tutorials

    I seen Oracle has many tutorials and this i like :) However im trying to setup a FTP adapter version of ESB and cant seem to find any tutorials on this specfically. If anyone could help me or maybe explain how i could edit a file adapter tutorial in which they have so that and FTP adapter could work that would be great

    Sorry I haven't tried it with ESB, but I do have a blog about "advanced use of FTP adapter" in BPEL: http://darwin-it.blogspot.com/2008/03/configuration-of-ftp-synchronous-get.html.
    I do think though that it should not be a very big problem to translate this to ESB, since it is actually the same adapter.

  • What is the max file limit for FTP adapter that uses FileIoInteractionSpec

    Hi,
    I know that Oracle provided some new features in 10.1.3.4 using which we can use the file and ftp adapter to move files in a more efficient way
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/relnotes.1013/e12523/adapters.htm#CHDGFAAB
    Essentially it involves modifying the WSDL to use the new InteractionSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileIoInteractionSpec"
    Now my question is, what is the file size limit which can be transferred using this.
    I have tried with 20 mb file, it works. But I want to know the upper limit.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Tried with 31 mb file.
    It successfully delivers the file but....

  • Reading .jpeg files in FILE or FTP adapter

    Hii
    I have to send .jpeg files at regular intervals using BPEL.
    I read about Base64 data type. I tried to create File Adapter and FTP adapter. I specified the folder location and *.jpeg as file pattern. I have made schema to opaque.
    But neither File or FTP adatper are picking up the file from specified directory. As per my plan, once I will get Opaque schema in BPEL, I will use Base64 encoding to get the data as string and to pass it to the endpoints.
    Any idea what I need to do in order to read .jpeg files.
    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Thanks for the help. Actually, I am following the similar process as given in "Tutorial 11 : File DB Integrations – Handling of opaque data types".
    I'm using SOA Suite 10.1.3.3; the .jpeg file is being picked up by the File Adapter, but failing to create BPEL instance with the following log details :

  • FTP Adapter - Send (Target)

    Hi,
    I have interconnect 9i standalone installation on HP-UNIX with most of the adapters installed.
    The integration scenario/flow of the data is:
    Source: DB Adapter
    Target: DB Adapter and FTP.
    I have multiple targets in the above scenario. The integration trigger point is change in a table of the Source DB Adapter.
    The integration works fine from Source DB to Target DB. Whereas the second target adapter FTP is not receiving the data/creating a file as mentioned in the parameter file.sender.file_name_rule in the adapter.ini file. I have included the settings of my adapter.ini below:
    application=trg_consultants_ftp
    bridge_class=oracle.oai.agent.adapter.technology.TechBridge
    ota.type=XML
    ota.send.endpoint=file://localhost/shahul/ftp/out
    file.sender.type=ASCII
    file.sender.file_name_rule=emp_%TIME%.xml
    the other settings is as default. Could any one help me why i am not able receive the file. The APP view of the Ftp adapter was created using a DTD. I exported the PL/SQL code for the application and got a empty package definition. Hence i didnt create the package for Ftp.
    Thanks,
    Shah

    Hi,
    I defined the message type as XML (ota.type=XML). I thought i may have to create the PL/SQL package for FTP adapter too - like a DB Adapter. But now my integration is working and both the DB and FTP adapter are subscribing the message from the hub. Actually i had some of the receiving end property enabled and then i commented them and restarted the adapter then it started working.

  • Need to get ESB FTP adapter going

    I was set on a project over the weekend and so far im pretty sure i have completely failed :) I need to just specify routing rules for server to server connection. We are doing this through FTP, the routing rules will specify certain files to look for, and we have a default account to connect to each server with. Well so far i got two FTP connections in place a read and write one. I am not sure what else i need to implement in order to complete this. My task was to use ESB to do this proces. I have a couple questions however besides creating two FTP connects one read one write what else do i need in this? The routing rules will come after i get this all put together i would assume. Anyway do i need a file adapter in the ESB setup ? It never ask me to specify a username and password but i think that would be specified under integration connections where my connection to the specfic server is? How do i tell me FTP connections to connect to one of my integration connections? I have a development one and a production one, obviously im working on the DEV

    No i think my wording was wrong i apologize, not that it will neccessarily use the connection username and password located under integration connection. But it will use this to connect to? Ok tell me if im wrong but it will use this connection under integration connection to connect to some kind of SOA "somewhere"?
    And maybe not SOA im not sure if you need SOA but some kind of ESB server. Hence the option to register with ESB when right clicking the project?

    Re: Simple Questions about ESB and ftp adapter.
    Posted: Apr 8, 2008 4:20 PM in response to: user629857 Reply
    I assume you are using ESB. Your ESB service will look as follows:
    FTP inbound adapter -> Routing Service -> FTP outbound adapter
    In your FTP inbound and outbound adapters, specify the logical directory name in the end point properties.
    The bpel.xml file is only specific if you are using Oracle BPEL Process Manager.
    <---------- this is the exact setup i have right now, does this sound correct?

  • FTP Adapter on Unix

    Hi There,
    I created a new JNDI Location and configured corresponding connection Factories for the above FTP Adapter. In the connection Factories I entered my username and password and unix server host name. I set the the ftpAbsolutepath to my Home Directory on the server.
    I created a simple BPEL process which uses FTP Adapter to get a file and inserts into database as a BLOB. The FTP adapter is not polling and file is not getting deleted.
    Please Advise.
    Thanks

    Hi Antonis,
    Sorry for the confusion. It didn't pick up at all.
    I am using FTP as Service Component.
    As it is not polling, I initiated it manually from BPEL Console.
    Then it is inserting a record into the Database as a blob.
    I am not getting an error. I did not understand how it is inserting data into database when it is not getting the file at all.
    I then modified the above BPEL Process by adding one more DB Adapter and FTP Adapter. DB Adapter will read the blob and FTP Adapter will write the file back to the server in a different path.
    When I initiate this, I am getting the below error:
    Unable to send file to server
    ;nested exception is
    ORABPEL- 11429
    Error Sending File to FTP Server.
    In summary it seems that the process is not hitting the FTP Server.
    But as per connection factory setting, username and password is valid and have access to the server.
    Could there be any other reason.
    Thanks
    Krishna
