Infinite Insight Tutorials (not Regression Model)

Hi,
I have seen the official SAP Tutorial for creating a Regression model in Infinite Insight, does anybody know if there is anything similar for any ofthe other modules, Explorer, Clustering Model, Association Rules, Social or Recommendation?
I can't find any, but presume there must be some out these somewhere,

If you had download the zip file, you also have some pdf included (51047379.zip\DATA_UNITS\SAP_INFINITESIGHT_DOCUMENT\Help\PDF\US).
All the datasets are avaiables in the folder "Samples" in your install directory : C:\Program Files\SAP InfiniteInsight\WorkstationV6.5.5\Samples. (KAR for association Rule, KSN for social network, etc...)
You can also find some exercises on the workbook SAP Advanced Analytics on the sap partneredge website, in particular data manipulation with the creation of analytical datasets. (SAP PartnerEdge).

There are a lot of linear regression models and approaches for sales forecast out on the market, however I will focus on what oracle 11g offers i.e. package SYS.DBMS_DATA_MINING to create a model using regression as mining function and then, once the model is created, to apply prediction function on the model.
Therefore I'll have to go through few steps:
i) normalization of data

As you can see for the first row there is a value of 68861.084 and for the rest of 16 values is always one and the same 104816.995.
Question: where is my week 18 prediction ? or maybe I should say which one is it ?

Logistic Multivariate Regression Model in Oracle (How to?)

Hi All,
Is there a way to do a logistic regression and store predicted values back onto the data? I work in the Healthcare Sector and I need to do some multivariate logistic regression to be able to predict Admission Rates (Dependant Variable) from the Emergency Department given a set of independant/predictor variables such as Age, Gender, Triage Level (1 through 5) and the Charleston Comorbidity Index (Scoring system for categorizing how ill a person is using diagnosis codes). I went to the following website:

The author talks about using logistic regarding to scorecard credit card risk but he never really gets into the details on how he did it, ie the SQL Code that he used to input the dependant and predictor variables and such to get the predicted values. I haven't found much on the internet regarding this. I'm not a super advanced Oracle user but I am relatively experienced with PL/SQL so all I need is a really simple explanation or snippet of code on how to do this regression. I'm using Oracle 10g at present. So let us say I have the following 3 Predictor Variables: AGE, GENDER, TRIAGE_LEVEL and the following independant variable ED_ADMISSION_RATE. How would I do this regression to get the predicted ED Admission Rate? I realize this is a vary high level approach but I can't think of any other way to explain this so I'm hoping to get some input at least to point me in the right direction.

If one of the included methods does not work, Adv. Analytics allows you to use R scripts... and there are a lot of them.
Also, make sure you read up on the improvements made in 12c.

SQL Server Excel Add In for Data Mining: How do I retrieve the coefficients underlying the logististic regression model in excel

I constructed a logistics regression model inside Excel using the Data Mining Add In. I would like to see the coefficients for each input variable. I can't seem to find this inside excel. I tried running queries in DMX inside
Mgt Studio but that seems to return multiple coefficients
for each input variable. I am seeking
ONE coefficient for each variable.
Other applications I have used in the past provided the intercept and one coefficient for each input variable. Can someone advise on how I can achieve that inside excel or Analysis Services?

We have this problem when we install the add-in using an Administrator's login ID.
The problem is that the add-in automatically registers the Excel add-in. This causes a whole host of problems, including the one you describe (even when we install with the user as the admin on their own machine). Other problems include conflicts with other Add-ins (e.g. nVision) & utlities that import PDF into Excel.
For our Citrix environment we do the following:
· Install Essbase Add-In as Administrator
· Replace “ntuser.dat” file in Default User profile with the “ntuser.dat” file from Administrator’s profile. (Replace C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\NTUSER.DAT with C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\NTUSER.DAT).
· Delete existing user profile from the system
Once user logs back in, a new profile will be created to work with Essbase add-in.
Note:
1. 1. NTUSER.DAT file is a hidden file. It is only visible if show hidden file option is enabled
2. Deleting user profile from the system remove all user customization such as shortcuts, favorites, pst file etc. as well.
BUG NOTE: When you try to Unregister the Excel Add-in from your Start button, the shortcut points to the wrong file name. The file name should be "unRegExcelAddin.exe"

Code insight is not working correctly in Jdev 10.1.3 (preview) and java 1.5

The code insight does not work for me. I followed the advice of Steve Muench given here:

but that did not change the problem. The problem seems to be related to new java 1.5 features. As soon as I start using generics the code insight is lost...
Any clues what is going on? I s this easy to fix?

Do you still have any code error in your jdev editor? no matter the error is JSP or HTML (it is signed by little red box at the right of the window near scroll bar), code insight sometimes is not available.

I would prefer process chain, not program.
Create new process chain include data target deletion component and PSA deletion component. (Include corrosponding DSO/Cube/PSA names).
Run process chain.
Else you can search for FMs to delete contents from your targets.

Consider the simplified a company income statement:
Sales
COGS
-- Gross profits
Selling and Administrative expense
Deperication expense
-- Operating profit
Interest expense
-- Earnings before taxes
Taxes
-- Earnings after taxes
Each of this lines is represented in BW as a key figure (lines with '--' represented as calculated KFs).
Different persons or companies may use their own details of income statement. For example, someone want to see instead of one line "Selling and Administrative expense" two - separatly selling and administrative expenses, or even break down of these expenses by category. In the KF model every new introducted line should be represented by a new KF.
In the Account Model every line is represented by one KF only. Let name it as 'Amount'. Another characteristic is telling us what kind of amount it is. Imagine that you have accounting trial balance that lists accounts, starting and ending balances, and debit and credit turnovers for each account.
An accountant will tell you that a credit turnover in account #XXXX represent the company revenue (sales), a debit turnover in account #YYYY - cost of goods sold etc.
Simplified inflow of transactional data will consist of:
Account Amount
XXXX    -12345
YYYY    8765
etc.
In this model (assuming that you load data for all accounts) you can easily change the scheme of calculations and their presentations (groupping, regroupping etc.) in reports without creating new KFs.
In your example you provide a KF model because every distinct type of amounts is represented by its own KF.

I have installed latest Flash Player 10.x, use IE 8 and Firefox 3.5 browsers, Active X scripting is installed and enabled. Why can't I view any episodes or tutorials on Adobe TV.com? All I see is a large white box, no videos.HELP!!

Save point with POJO DataControl not saving model state

Hi Guys,
JDEV 11.1.1.6 64bit
I was able to get save points working with ADF BC (AppMod, View & Entity objects)
but when I tried to do the exact same with Pojo DataControls, I won't save
the current state of the model - meaning things are not "selected" to the
proper record when the SP is restored. I don't get any errors, it just
shows the wrong data.
Example:
The BTF is marked as must have transaction(tried either way), but this is Pojo, and doesn't support Trx.
edit-emp-dept.jspx (with BTF Region)
BTF START
    STEP 1: RichTable with bindings to Pojo DataControl (value="#{bindings.allDepts.collectionModel}")
                 (user selects the 3 record => sales department)
    STEP 2: Edit Sales Dept & on click to next step create SP
    STEP 3: View Emps (Rich Table of ALL emps in that DEPT)
    STEP 4: Edit Emp
    FINAL: COMMIT (save to pojo list) or CANCEL (don't save to pojo list)
/BTF END
At STEP 1 -> STEP 2, the SP is created, and when I close the browser at STEP2, 3 or 4, and
restart, and choose SP to restore, it takes me to proper page (STEP 2) but the wrong Department is
selected to edit (it shows "Finance" instead of "Sales") & if I hit my ADF back button, it shows
the table with "finance" selected. In the ADF BC world it works perfectly.
I know the docs say: the ADF Model is saved, so the question is why bindings.allDepts.collectionModel
not "saved" here for Pojo DC and the ADF BC af:table value="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.collectionModel}"
it is "saved".

the problem with POJO DC and other non-ADF BC models is that they don't passivate their state. In JDeveloper 12c we allow developers to extend their POJO classes with ADF lifecycle methods that allows them to save the model state themselves. Its a known issue that the transaction state cannot be saved for non-ADF BC models. I checked the bug database for bugs filed against this behavior but could not find one- I can imagine that with 12c we would have a chance to allow developers to handle passivation / activation for non-ADF BC model states. So if this is a feature you need then filing an enhancement request would make sense
