  • Blackberry World thinks I need to update Apps that are already up-to-date. (Infinite Update Loop)

    Hello,
I have been having trouble with Blackberry World.  It states that I have apps that need updating, but I already have the most recent update of these apps.  In addition, BBW states that I need updates for apps that I no longer have installed on my phone. (and I cant seem to uninstall these apps via BBW)
I have tried installing the update (even if its not needed), and uninstalling/re-installing the apps, and nothing eliminates this problem.  "Refresh BlackBerry World" does not help either.
for an example: I have 9 apps that BBW thinks I need to update.  One of which is Blackberry Blend. When I click on Blend, It states that the Update is available to Version 1.1.0.67, but directly underneath, it states that I have Installed Version 1.1.0.67 !!!  If I choose to perform the update, the notice for updating Blend shows back up in BBW immediatley.   The same issue is occuring with a number of apps, including: Google Talk, Skype, etc..
Any suggestions on how to stop this BBW App Update Infinite Loop?

Hi,  I've tried clearing the cache multiple times.  With or without reboot, it doesn't seem to fix the problem.
I should probably mention that this is on a Z10 STL100-3  OS release 10.3.1.1865 OS version 10.3.1.2708.  This problem was occuring with only Skype before the upgrade from 10.2, but since the update its with 9 other Apps as well.  I even completely wiped my phone, and only selectively restored a handful of apps to prevent the issue, but thats when BBW now displays required updates for Apps I no longer have installed on the phones since starting from scratch.
    any other suggestions?

  • PRS-T1 stuck in infinite reboot loop after failed firmware update

    Hi,
I tried to update the firmware, but failed when updating to version 1.0.07.05070. Tried to 2 times. The first time it failed I simply tried again. The second time, it took a lot longer to reach the failed to update message, but it did cause the ereader to reboot.
Now, it's stuck in an infinite reboot loop on the "Opening book" page. The progress bar on that page stays completely empty, lasts for about 30 seconds, and reboots again. This will go one until the battery is dead or indefinitely if plugged in.
I have tried pressing the Home + Menu buttons, but they seem to have no effect.
Please advise if there is anything I can try to revive it?
    Thanks in advanced.
    David
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Kiroken,
Here is what I have observed:
    - After a hard boot (reset + power button during 3+ seconds), if I don't do anything, it will reboot every ~30seconds.
    - If I press and hold the Home and Menu buttons, no effect. The same as if I didn't press anything.
    - If I press the Forward + Back buttons (2 & 4), it does not reboot after 30 seconds. Instead, the orange light on the power button blink every ~2-3 seconds.
    - Any other key combinations that I have tried have no effect.
I have tried with and without several rescue sdcard. No difference. No improvement. In every case, the computer never sees the reader. If plugged into the power outlet, it seems like the battery charges alright. It does not appear to charge if plugged into USB port.
That's all I know. If I can't fix it, I might be forced to turn it into a coaster or maybe a cutting board for the kitchen.

  • UI flickrs continously jdk1.7.25 EventdispatchThread's pumpEventsForFilter goes to infinite while loop

I am migrating a project from Java 1.3 to Java 1.7 update 25 and there is one search button functionality in which search is performed correctly but the UI flickers continuously because EventdispatchThread's pumpEventsForFilter goes to infinite while loop.
This same code works correctly in java 1.3.
Below is the part of the code related to searchbutton. Can you please suggest regarding this because the issue is within java api and not sure how to solve this.
    SearchButton.java:
    private JButton searchButton;
    private String textsearchButton =
          search.util.Language.getString("buttonStartSearch");
    searchButton = new JButton(textsearchButton);
    buttonPanel.add(searchButton);
    searchButton.addActionListener(this);
    searchButton.addActionListener(actionListener);
    actionListener.actionPerformed(

  • Iphone stuck in infinite setup loop

My iphone is stuck in an infinite setup loop. Have reset phone a lot of times and it lets me set up all info. I get home screen for less than 2 seconds and the set up screen pops back up. Randomly the voice over will come on and the tripple tap to enter from kep pad/board comes on or goes off. HELP!

    Hello DebiSuzi,
Not being able to use your device can certainly be frustrating. From what I can gather, it sounds like you're having issues restarting your device. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. You may want to consider restoring your device to factory settings. After this is complete, I would recommend restoring your data from any potential backups you may have:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    Use recovery mode
You might need to use recovery mode to restore your device in these cases:
iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode.
You see the Apple logo onscreen for several minutes with no progress bar.
You see the Connect to iTunes screen.
Learn what to do if you see the progress bar onscreen for several minutes.
To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.
    Get more help
Learn what to do if you don't see your device in iTunes for OS X, or in iTunes for Windows.
If you put your device into recovery mode by mistake, restart it. Or you can wait 15 minutes and your device will exit recovery mode by itself.

  • Windows Update Loop - Win 7 Pro - x64 :: Error 80071A91

Hi, I've been referred to this forum by the Microsoft community from this post: answers.microsoft.com  /en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/windows-update-loop-win-7-pro-x64-error-80071a91/b17c5bc5-7977-4f8b-9b45-ecb265886381 (same as below)
Any assistance is appreciated. dave_ned at hotmail.com.
    Hi,
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again"
I've got the error (80071A91) that others have experiences while trying windows update and for the life of me I cannot get the updates to install.
Looking for the past 4 hours via Google, trying different recommended things and still no luck
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_update/unable-to-install-updates-getting-error-code/27a21977-f964-4376-bfab-2f29ea127c6a
    # SFC /scannow causes the "repair status message" and asks for reboot.
I've downloaded fix-it, tried booting into a system repair/restore disk using command line to run
    #sfc /scannow /offline....
using the dispart to LIST VOLUMES  (based on this http://mikemstech.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/how-to-perform-offline-system-integrity.html )
I've tried #fsutils resourse set autorevert=true (or something, can't find the exact post as I've rebooted so many times)
I've tried dismc.exe (or similar without success)
Basically I'm stuck with these updates (~10 of them) always sitting there downloading, installing every time I shut down the PC.
Running a system repair disk created in windows still does not allow #sfc /scannow....
My Last system restore was 04/08/14 and I cannot even restore the system to this point as the restore fails and asks to remove itself once I restart the system.
    Details:
OEM version of windows purchased legally and genuine microsoft logo in system dashboard.
    Intel Core I5 -3330
    16GB RAM
    Windows 7 Pro - 64bit OS
    Service pack 1
**NOTE** I have the C drive hooked up in RAID 0. Two(2) * 60GB SSD disks in RAID 0 used as C: via BIOS RAID
    Secondary storage disk a D:
Been working and updating fine for the past 5-6 months.
I have the Optical drive setup as O: and a Daemon tools virtual drive as drive E:
While running DISKPART and using LIST VOLUME I see this:
currently the system seems to have lost all update history
Any information or help on this is appreciated. I don't want to reformat and reinstall, I don't really want to 'repair' and wipe my current software installation so I'm hoping there is a way.
Anyway I can get the 'pending state' removed.?
    Thanks in advance
    David

Hi, I've rebooted into Repair mode (Console), (because repair said windows is installed on E:) run dism.exe /image:E:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This gave a message about small scratch space but did say something out a fix. Upon reboot into safemode with console I received the same message
    "C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.
There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete.  Restart Windows and run sfc again."
I then rebooted and tried SCF again, no luck... Same message, same updates still sitting there.

  • How to out from infinite while loop in sub VI

    Dear Sir,
how to out from infinite while loop in sub VI from main VI
attached photo for solution but I can't understand it and i can't find the function in photo
    please help

Asking how to get out of an infinite loop is like asking how to find the end of a circle. I'm not trying to be sarcastic but by definition, if there is a way out of the loop, then it is not infinite. I think what you are asking is how to avoid creating an infinite loop. Is there something about the suggestions you have been given that you do not like? My favorite suggestion is the notifier but maybe you just need an example. Turn on context help and read about the notifier functions in the code below.
This is your top level VI
    And this is your subVI
If this seems too complex then a global variable will work too. But what seems simpler can cause much more complex bugs. You can code fast and spend lots of time debugging or you can code slow and spend less time debugging. Personally I perfer writing productive code than looking for bugs any time.

  • HP MediaSmart DVD player: sp49489 doesn't seem to fix blu-ray player "update loop"

    Good day,
I found a few threads were folks were having issues playing back blu-ray discs (BD) with HP MediaSmart (some going so far as saying things like "... not so smart", etc). I applied update sp49489 and one BD worked fine, and now I am attempting to play a more recent BD (ie, "Stolen") and I get stuck in a "update loop" where the HP MediaSmart DVD player constantly asks to check for updates, whether I hit "yes" or "no".
Any ideas how to fix this?

The first link leds to a cyberlink page where i can't continue because theres nothing to click on.
mediasmart is up to date with me, but the cyberlink BR advsor means my laptop doesn't habe a BR Player neither a software.
    i'm using Win7_64. Any suggests?

  • Windows 8.1 update looping

Since Tuesday my computer (HP ENVY 14-K010US SLEEKBOOK) is in an update loop. It updates, restartes, undoes the updates and the loop starts all over again.
    Anybody else with this problem?
Is it safe to stop automatic updates and what is your recommendation I should be doing?
    Thanks!
    Helena G.

    Hi Helena,
    Welcome to HP Forums
First do a System Restore to a previous known good point (at least 48hrs before the update happened):
See "Restore your computer when Windows 8 cannot start normally" section in this -
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03327545
Next change "automatic" Windows Update from Control Panel to "To Check for Updates Automatically but Let you Choose to Download and Install them or Not" :
    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5794-windows-update-automatic-updating-turn-off-windows-8-a.htm...
May be the Microsoft Tuesday update patches is causing the problem.
Next to rule out any hard drive issues causing this, Do a complete - quick & extensive hard drive testing from BIOS :
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467259
Wait for all the tests to complete. It'll take time.
If it PASS all the tests,
Next: execute a System file scan - Option 2 in this tutorial:
    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-windows-8-a.html
    Restart system.
Then, execute dism commands given in Option 1 in this tutorial:
    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/26512-dism-fixing-component-store-corruption-windows-8-a.html
    Restart system.
Now, Completely disable/uninstall all the Antivirus softwares including Windows Defender from your system temporarily
Now you manually install available Windows updates in batches of 5 or less instead of everything as a whole.
Restart system after each batch installs.
Install the Important & Recommended updates.
You can leave any optional updates that becomes available in your Windows Update without any worries.
Restart system after everything finishes. Check.

  • IPhoto Database Update loop

After installing iLife11 my Database is in an update loop.
If I start iPhoto it tells me that I have to update my database in order to work with iPhoto.
It takes serveral minutes to updaten. After the update iPhoto freezes with the Apple loding circle.
If I choose faces or other it shows my the resules.
While importing new pic from my HDD iPhoto freezes.
After restart iPhoto wants to update the database again.
Even if I just work with iPhoto (without import) and do a restart of iPhoto it comes again with the Update of the Database.
Does somebody know how to solve the issue?

Welcome to Apple Discussions. This appears to be a problem for many users and there is a very detailed discussion on this issue here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2620921&tstart=0
I had the same issue and after several hours of trial and error I found that several "Keepsake" items in my iPhoto library were not supported in iPhoto '11.
If you have any keepsake items in your left pane, I suggest you open the original database in iPhoto '09 (you did do a full backup before you tried to upgrade didn't you?), delete and Keepsake items, and then restart iPhoto '11. The database should convert properly at that point.
    Hope this helps.

  • Hi am trapped in update loop

Hi I am trapped in an update loop. My iPhone 4.0 is only on v4.2.1 (8C148) and when I put it in iTunes to update it doesn't work. It now says it's "unable to contactr the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the Internet". This is not the case??? I am connected to the internet. Am not sure what I can do???!
What can I do? And if I manage to get past this can I upgrade straight from v4.2.1 to latest (6?) or must this be done in stages???
I am not sure if the next steps is 'restore to factory defaults?' I am trying to avoid that as I have not backed up my data to iCloud...Incidentally I am also unable to back up my iPhone to iCloud as iCloud not on v4.2.1 so would need to update before being able to use...which of course I can't do!
    Thanks for your help!!!

Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

  • For Those Experiencing the Infinite Boot Loop on P67A-GD65

My story in a nutshell - bought the original (non B3) P67A-GD65 from Newegg on the first day it was available along with 8 GB (2X4 GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 ram and Intel i5 2500k processor.  Received the items, hooked them up on a test bench (rubber mb supports so no grounding issues) along with a Corsair VX-550 P/S (both 24 pin and 8 pin leads plugged in), GTX-460 video card (2 PCI-E 6 pin connectors plugged in), the default Intel i5 heatsink and a known good USB KB and mouse.  Promptly experienced the infinite loop boot issue others have described - fans on h/s and video card spin up, 1st APS LED lights for a fraction of a second then all 6 light up for 3 to 4 seconds then APS LEDs go out and fans on h/s and video card spin down.  No beeps from speaker and no video signal to monitor.  After everything has stopped spinning (about 3 to 4 seconds), the power comes back on and the cycle repeats exactly the same way every time until I turn off the power supply.  Here is what I tried:
    1.  Used only 1 stick of ram (tried in all 4 slots)
    2.  Pulled 1 stick of DDR3-1600 ram from my working X58 system (again tried in all 4 slots)
    3.  Different power supply (OCZ 520-ADJ)
    4.  Known good PCI video card instead of GTX-460 (in case there was some problem with power draw)
Under each of these changes, the same infinite boot loop occurred.  Called tech support, they walked me through each step I had already tried and finally suggested I RMA both the MB and the CPU to Newegg.  Did so and the replacements worked fine from the start.
Then came the B2 stepping issue.  Notified both Newegg and MSI that I had one of the B2 boards.  Newegg notified me they had the new B3 boards in stock.  Arranged for cross shipment where they would ship me the new board and then I would return the old one.  Received the new one last Friday.  Put it on the same test bench as above and the same infinite boot loop is now happening on the new B3 stepping board.  Just to test, put the cpu, ram and GTX-460 video card back into the B2 stepping board and everything works perfectly.
Another test, since some people reported the infinite loop problem when they had failed to plug in the 8 Pin power lead to the mb, I unplugged the 8 pin connector on the working B2 stepping board.  The infinite loop problem is entirely different in this case.  When you press the power switch, the fans start to spin and the first LED lights for less than a second.  Then the LED goes off and the fans start to spin down.  After everything has stopped, it repeats until the power supply is turned off.
This is my first MSI motherboard after 15 years of Abit and Asus with the occasional Gigabyte or EVGA thrown in and I am not happy with the QC I have experienced with this board!
So to summarize, 2 of the 3 P67A-GD65 boards I received from Newegg have had this infinite boot loop problem.  Apparently, I have to RMA again.  Am I lucky or what???!!!
    Monte

Quote from: BMSliger on 16-March-11, 00:05:11
If it was the chipset causing this problem, it seems it would be a widespread complaint among all vendors.  I have looked at the Asus and Gigabyte boards and do not see this particular problem described and certainly not multiple users reporting the same problem.  I am giving up on this and will arrange an RMA and will see if I can talk Newegg into an Asus board for only the price difference.  MSI has a very good reputation in the industry, but it has been a disaster for me!!!
    Thanks for your replies,
    Monte
Frankly, I can understand your frustrations on the problem but it is not fair to judge a brand by looking at the number of complains in a forum. I can guarantee you, there are more RMAs out there from all other manufacturers even before an user even knows that a Forum ever exist for them to post for enquiry and most of them aren't an IT engineer or hardware engineer by self.
If you want to compare, I have also been in this industry for more than 15 years and I have many DOA boards from other manufacturers as well and DOAs after RMAs are common to me. When you handle thousands of PCs, laptops and mainframes, such things are really common.
Back to your problem. Maybe I didn't make it clear on how I want to describe on my previous post for your issue in words. I am referring to having a chance to let the system boot into BIOS or past BIOS after multiple times of rebooting, then you can try to flash the BIOS. This is also not uncommon as I have encountered systems which are problematic but are able to boot into Windows after 15 to 20 times of infinite reboots by itself.
How about processor? Tested it in another system yet? Or is this another unless suggestion to you?
