INFO tab items not staying checked or syncing

Ever since I updated to Software version 4.0, anything on the info tab does not work. All other tabs work fine.
When I first connect, the iphone sync's and backups ok. But if I try to check anything on the info tab... ie: Sync Contacts with... or Sync Mail Acounts from... as soon as I hit APPLY, the check boxes UNCheck and then it backs up, then starts to sync, then ends with the error box saying...
"itunes could not sync information to the iphone (my iphone) because a sync session could not be started."
Although all other tabs work fine, stay checked and sync ok.
Anyone else seeing this?

Does anyone know if there is already a topic on this issue?
Thanks.

  • Has anyone solved the Outlook .dll not staying checked for sync?

I have tried reinstalling everything and updating everything I know to update. When I start outlook 2003 that second .dll still gives me a runtime error. So I have to manually check it every time I want to sync.
Thanks for any tips out there.

Thanks. I should have stated it isn't disabled. It just crashes at launch. It tries to start but just won't stay checked.

  • Info tab does not show in iTunes 11.1.2 in iPad sync window

I have OS 10.9 on my iMac, iOS 7.0.3 on my iPad, and I'm using iTunes 11.1.2 . I had only one problem syncing my iPad with the iTunes--the info tab does not show in the sync window. Has the method of syncing calendars changed? How can I do this

I found the following in another discussion thread:
If you use OS X Mavericks v.10.9 or later, your contacts, calendars, and other info are updated on your computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see iCloud Help at icloud.com. (http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12117)
Since I do not use cloud computing for security reasons, I will not be syncing my contacts or calendars between devices. I hope the Apple developers rethink this strategy. Meanwhile I'll figure out a work-around as I have in the past when software has an unfortunate glitch.

  • Set time automatic does not stay checked

Just as the title says, the check box in the system prefs will not stay checked. I "Lock" the settings and when revisiting the setting after a reboot, it is unchecked and the time is still wrong.
What do I need to do??
    Thanks

Is this after any reboot? Do you have Windows installed through BootCamp?
First thing to try is another user account. Create a new one if necessary and see if your settings save properly. You may want to turn off "automatic login" if that's currently active.

  • New Info Tab information not syncing

I just got an ipod (nano fourth generation) and itunes for the first time. Since I wanted everything organized, I went through and changed the info tabs to all my music while in Itunes and the synced. Unfortunately my ipod doesn't seem to have added all the new info tab information (artist, genre, etc.) that I added and is still going by the old information.
    Any suggestions?

  • Not staying connected to sync

I just set up a sync account, in Firefox4, for two computers. It seemed to work fine; I've synced the bookmarks on the two machines, but after closing Firefox and then restarting, neither computer is still connected to sync. I have my privacy settings set to clear everything, history and data, on exit. Is there something that I need to save (cookies?, preferences?, off-line data?) in order to stay connected to sync?

Firefox Sync stores your Sync credentials in Password Manager, so they're available across restarts.
If you have Firefox set to clear your passwords on exit, then your Sync account credentials have been lost, and you'll have to set up Sync every time you start Firefox. (I hope you saved your Sync Key somewhere!)
In order to have Sync persist across restarts, you need to disable clearing of passwords. I'm also uncertain what the behavior of Sync will be if you clear your history; it should work fine, but I've never tested it myself.

  • Old Outlook Calendar items not staying synced on Razr Maxx

I sync my corporate exchange Outlook calendar with my phone and it seems to sync fine.  But it does appear that after a few weeks, most appointments (but not all) disappear.  I can't find an option to keep all old appointments for any period of time.  Suggestions?

DaveJ1 - what service?? I'm not syncing with google calendar, but between my phone calendar and exchange work Outlook. I haven't tried deleting the calendar and re-adding it. May try that next (yes, I'm still having problems)...

  • Calendar items not being created with sync

I seem to have calendar items that don't sync properly or at all when I sync the computer calendar program with the phone.  Any thoughts on the problem?

I'm having the same problem.  I've created categories on my palm but when I sync with computer the events or categories don't show.  Some have but some have not.  The sync process stalls out when I try to have palm over ride the computer so I don't know if that's the problem.  If so I don't know why it stalls out.  I have the same problem with tasks I've created.  Good Luck!

  • "Set date & time automatically" not staying checked

I don't know if this has already been discussed (searched and found nothing) but I just noticed tonight that on both my black MacBook and my new MacBook Pro will not retain the "Set date & time automatically" function. I check the box, close the window, open the date & time settings pane again and it's unclicked. I have no idea when this began happening but it's getting pretty annoying. I believe this could also be contributing to the older MacBook not working with Back to my Mac anymore.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    HI,
Open System Preferences/Date & Time. Make sure the box is checked for automatic. Now click the gold padlock icon so it's closed. You will be prompted for your admin password. Quit System Preferences and restart your Mac.
    See if that helps.
If not... Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • IMAP + POP checkboxes will not stay checked

I am having a rather bizarre error while setting up mail on my xServe. We have a xServe OD master which authenticates through a AD domain controller (through the method described on Mike Bombich's website). I am trying to start the mail service in OS X with both IMAP and POP, however whenever I check the enable box next to either and click save they just disable themselves again. It's getting pretty frustrating. I am wondering if there is a simple fix or if perhaps a reinstall of OS X server may be in order.
any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
The Mail Service Interface can be slightly psychotic at times and occasionally not to be trusted. You could stop the service using the command line:
    sudo serveradmin stop mail
Enable the boxes using the Interface. Click Save. Quit out of Server Admin. Start the service using the command line again:
    sudo serveradmin start mail
    Verify the service is running:
    sudo serveradmin fullstauts mail
Hopefully you should see entries listing POP and IMAP as 'RUNNING'. It's a good idea to quit Server Admin once you're done with it.

  • AIM Server Settings "Use SSL" option not staying checked

In order to login to AIM on my network, I need to use SSL (not sure of the reason, but SSL works). But whenever I check "Use SSL" in the AIM account "Server Settings" panel, I find that it unchecks itself after a day. At night, I go home, and use a different Wi-Fi network with my MacBook Pro, and I'm not sure if changing the network has anything to do with it, but when I come into work the next morning, "Use SSL" is unchecked in the iChat Preferences.
Do anyone know what's going on here? I'd like to configure AIM to always use SSL but it doesn't seem to be sticking.

This seems to be an issue when sitting behind a Wi-Fi hotspot with a click-through landing page (where HTTP connections are redirected to an intermediary page). SSL isn't maintained after the redirect, and iChat seems to reset this setting after failing to connect via SSL and failing.

  • Lightroom not staying connected for sync neither remember usernames.

Hi! Are you also finding that every time you want to sync your photos with the LR Mobile you you to write the login information over and over in LR5???   Quite annoying, I hope they make that persistent.

It is persistent here on both the Desktop and the iPad. Which is giving you trouble?
If Desktop: check Re: Do I really have to sign back in to Lightroom mobile every time I start? and look at response 3.

  • Why did Apple remove the INFO tab in iTunes? I like syncing my Outlook for Mac Calendar to my iPhone.

I find the iCal very restricting and like using my Outlook for Mac calendar and contacts.  But with the new Maverick, they have removed this feature.  Why can't they play nice w/Microsoft?

This has nothing to do with Microsoft. It was removed with Mavericks for syncing direct with Apple's Address Book and iCal, etc. via the iTunes sync process as well.

  • Printer sharing in System Preferences will not stay checked

I have two printers connected to my iMac (10.7.3) and I am trying to enable printer sharing for my MacBook Air to utilize the iMac's printers.  On the iMac, I go to System Prefrences > Sharing and check Printer Sharing and I ensure that both printers are being shared.  Everything is checked, but the second I close the System Prefrences window, the printer sharing stops working.  I go back into System Prefrences and the Printer Sharing box is unchecked.  Any idea as to why this is occuring?

Does Printer Sharing actually work until you close the preference pane? You've tested it?
