InfoCube 0TCT_C01: TCTTMEOLAP

When activating the InfoCube 0TCT_C01 one gets detailed performance information about the navigational steps. If the value for TCTTIMEDM is very high, then one can check the database why the performance was bad. But what about TCTMEOLAP ? Is there any possibility to troubleshoot an unexpectedly high processing time of the OLAP processor? Or where could I find more detailed information?

If you OLAP time is very high : check the following :
1. Check your run schedules in RSRT ( Debug mode )- this is usually DM time that is shown but worth a try
2. See if the query has exception aggregations - this slows query performance in terms of OLAp time drastically
3. Result rows
4. Filters in the rows / columns
5. Cell definitions
6. Excessive use of RKFs - if you are using RKFs - they are like Nested Selects
Some of them might be mandatory given the query result expected- but then if you can get some attributes out to free characteristics etc - this might give you a big boost in perfoirmance which can be used to see the changes to requirements to the end user...

1.Delete indexes.
2.Load the InfoCube.
3.Create Indexes.
4.Roll-up of aggregates
but still getting the same error(Roll-up of aggregate is failing).
After the failure if i repeat the step then it gets executed successfully.
I need to monitor the PC ...and at the end of the complition it fails(daily)...
Please can anyone help me on this issue(that why the chain is failing at the roll-up)?

Go to TX RSDDV with your cube an identify the technical ID of ur aggregate (a number 100045 for instance).
TX SE11 goto table RSDDAGGRDIR filter the selection with AGGRCUBE = 100045.
Copy the AGGRUID (something like 3QL29Z7ZLO3BQZDSSLRU0MGOI)
Then come to TX SE37; RSDDK_AGGREGATES_FILL; hit the single test button
I_T_Aggregate enter your AGGRUID
I_T_INFOCUBE enter the techid of your cube
Execute.
This will fill your aggregate.

Some data from RSDDSTAT_OLAP missing in 0TCT_C01 cube

I need to analyze the performance of some BW queries, especially the trend of their runtime. From the SAP technical content, the InfoCube 0TCT_C01 sounds the least obscure and it looks like it should contain the data I need. When looking at view RSDDSTAT_OLAP then I can find performance data for my 3 sample queries:

The data is loaded daily from from RSDDSTAT_OLAP to the technical content InfoCubes. There are many rows in 0TCT_C01 spanning all calendar days, but not a single entry about InfoProv HBBH420M4 , HBBH420M9, HBBH590M2 (as seen in key KEY_0TCT_C014). There is also not a single entry about Queries KBBH420M4_Q001A, KHBBH420_M9_Q002_WT, HBBH590M2_Q001 (as can be seen in key KEY_0TCT_C016). For many other queries the data is loaded without problems into InfoCube 0TCT_C01.
The recording of statistics (RSA1 u2192 Tools u2192 BW Statistics for InfoProviders) is activated for these queries just like for all other queries.
What could be the reason why I am missing data on these three specific queries in InfoCube 0TCT_C01?
(If you are wondering: I am a SQL programmer, not a BW consultant, so I prefer to code my SQL queries manually.)

Field 0TCTTIMSTMP has a converstion routine at the info-object level. It stores the value in UTC but when displayed it undergoes conversion and displays in system zone.

BI Statistics: Cube 0TCT_C01: 0TCTQUCOUNT and 0TCTWTCOUNT

I am no BW specialist so I am sorry if this question may seem somewhat strange.
The InfoCube 0TCT_C01 contains among others these key figures:
0TCTQUCOUNT: This key figure contains the number of BI application objects (query, query view, and so on).
0TCTWTCOUNT: This key figure contains the counter for the BI applications (Web template, workbook).
For whatever that means. The SAP documentation is extremly cryptic and snippy on this part.
Anyway, when I try to correlate 0TCT_C01 contents with the data in RSDDSTAT_OLAP, I get these best matches:
0TCTQUCOUNT is equivalent to event 000002500 Generation of a Cache Entry
0TCTWTCOUNT is equivalent to event 000019912 Load 3.x Web Reporting Template
Are my findings correct? And are these correlations somehow documented by SAP? There is some mapping available between SAP BW 3.x and SAP NW 7.0 statistics, but no useful information about 0TCTQUCOUN and 0TCTWTCOUN:

Problem in Dataload for Statistics Infocube

Hi,
We are installing BI Statistics Infocubes (0TCT_C01) in our BID, BIT & BIP systems respectively and running the Statistics Query (ZTCT_C01_MQ_01) to track the Performance. The Infocubes were successfully loaded with data in BID & BIT systems and we also ran the Query in both the systems. In the middle, We recently refreshed our BI Quality system (BIT system) with a copy of the BI Production system (BIP system). After refreshing, the Infopackages created in BIT system for loading Statistics no longer exists. We created Infopackages again and tried loading the data but the dataload fails giving a Short dump. Please find the short dump below:
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_PARAMETER_INVALID_RANGE', was not
caught in procedure "GET_MD_TIMESTAMP" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the exception would occur, the current program is terminated. The reason for the exception is:
Parameter has invalid value: Parameter SYST_DATE/SYST_TIME has invalid value
00000000/000000.
From the Short dump, it seems the dataload failures is due to the problem in Time stamp & date variation. We checked the system date and time and is showing the correct value only. We are confused on what could be the problem. Is there any specific OSS Note to solve this issue?

I tried the step. I gave the Source system name as {"BITCLNT001" & Datasource name as "0TCT_DS01", i am getting a pop-up message "There is no Datasource with these attributes".
The Datasource name is correct only, i am not sure why this pop message is displayed.

Migration Details
This section explains the mapping details for the migration of BI statistics from SAP BW 3.x to SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
In SAP BW 3.x, all the statistics are contained directly in the key figures in the BI statistics tables. These key figures are then loaded 1:1 into the technical content InfoCubes. In SAP NetWeaver 7.0, all the statistics are recorded by handle types and event IDs and are assigned to aggregated key figures in the technical content InfoCube 0TCT_C01 using this information. This aggregation is done in DataSource 0TCT_C01. The event IDs are generated for each event, providing detailed information about the system performance at a detailed level.
All the BI statistics in SAP BW 3.x are logged in a single table, RSDDSTAT.

Q: Bi Statistics, DataManager time = 0?

Hi Experts,
We are currently analyzing our query performance using BI Statistcs (Bi7.0, SPS12). We are having problems fully understanding the values in the InfoCube 0TCT_C01.
We have made a custom query and drill down on query step. When looking at this result, if the "counter for queries" key figure (0TCTQUCOUNT) is 0, then we assume this means that it is an open or close of a query, and if the "counter for queries" = 1, then it is a data fetch (i.e. initial load of query, drill down or filtering).
If the above is correct, then if "counter for queries" = 1 and "Time DataManager" (0TCTTIMEDM) = 0, then we assume that this means a cached navigation. This does however seem a bit strange, since that would mean that almost all of our navigations are cached.
Does anybody have a good explanation to what the char & key figures mean? I have looked at the documentation at help.sap.com (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/46/f9bd5b0d40537de10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm) but I find this rather useless.

We have found that "counter for queries" = 1 and "Time DataManager" (0TCTTIMEDM) = 0 could also mean that the user has performed a filtering.
I.e. this combination could mean either cached navigation OR filter. I have checked all key figures and characteristics in the MultiProvider, and it does not seem as there is any way to separate these two, which then makes it impossible to find out how many cached navigations are performed.
Does anybody have any idea?

Issue after BI statistics activation in ST03N

hi gurus,
wE HAVE ACTIVATED bi statstics but cube 0tct_c01 is getting zero delta records everyday & also we are not getting any statistics data for infocube/reports in ST03N only i can see statistics for PROCESS CHAINS/infopackge/DTP
Can anyone help me here ? Is there any SAP note that can rectify this situation.

Hi Pathak ,
1. Check the tables RSDCUBE and RSUPDINFO for the Infocube - 0TCT_C01 and make sure the TIMESTMP are same for the infoprovider . If they are not same , then re-activate the update rule from the content.
After that try to make a new init/load and make sure the init loads are green and then check the results.
2. Maintain the necessary parameters for collecting the statistical data properly .
You can refer to note-1237091 (Enhancements to Query Runtime Statistics of BI Admin Cockpit) for it .
3. If still , your issue is not fixed , then apply the notes -
1317483 - (BI Application name missing for 3.X Workbook and Templates)
1472057 - (AC:Extractor Modification: Virtual Cube call and init loads)

"Reporting" in missing in transaction st03 Bi workload

We're using BI.7 (SPS12) on MS SQL 2005 and are willing to have statistics about query runtime in transaction st03.
I've followed the instruction givent in sap note : Note 934848 - Collective note: (FAQ) BI Administration Cockpit
Statistics Process chains (0TCT) are now running every day without problem, infocubes (0TCT_Cd aggregates are filled.
But in transaction st03 underBi Workload , analysis view, only "Aggretates", "Load Data" and "Process chain" data are available, the "Reporting" is missing ... quite disturbing when you want to have a look at the query runtime.
I've rechecked many time the sap notes :
I've activated direct access for virtual providers.
I've called transaction RSDDSTAT, all the Infoproviders, workbook, etc ... have the setting On (X), All (2).
I've checked the tables RSDDSTAT*, they're filled.
I've checked the infocube 0TCT_C01 (Front-End and OLAP Statistics (Aggregated)) , the cube is filled with query statistics !!
But despite all of that st03 stays empty for reporing.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Query Statistics

Hi,
Need to know the users that accessed a particular report from portal. We do not intend to activate the technical content. Wanted to know the table from which we can take this info.
Checked table RSDDSTAT_OLAP which gives these details - but against an ID. Need to get a relation between the ID & the BW object.

Hi Jinal,
This information can be easily retrieved from the InfoCube 0TCT_C01. Use characteristics User and BI Application Object. You can filter using the time characteristics.
If you want to look at the RSDDSTAT_OLAP table, the user and query name information are represented by the fields UNAME and OBJNAME respectively.

Are the statistics for Webtemplate colleted by the BW Statistics 7.0?

Hi Experts.
Would anybody know if the statistics for Webtemplates are also collected by the BW Statistics in the BI7.0? Example; if I want to know a information about how often that particulare webtemplate are used (not by BEX or RSRT) by the users, is it possible to get this information on the BW Statistics?

yes rody, statistics for Webtemplates are collected by the BI Statistics .
I hope you have BI statistics infoproviders installed .
In the the infocube 0tct_c01 --0tctbiobjct refers to the web template name.
key figure 0tctwtcount-- indicates the number of time the web template is accessed .
and 0tctusernm is the user acessing the web template.

What are the Data Sources we need to Use for these Infoproviders??
And what are the settings we need to do??

Following error while activating after creating new Infocube:
No active nametab exists for /BIC/DDPCW14DFD1
Termination due to inconsistencies
Table /BIC/DDPCW14DFD1 (Statements could not be generated)
Enhancement category for table missing
The cube is being made as a exact copy of an existing activated and correctly working cube.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

ERROR WHILE UPDATING TO INFOCUBE

Hi All,
I am using a flat file to load data from datasource into infocubes.The data reaches PSA tables with no errors but after the execution of DTP , the monitors shows up Error Updating to infocube, intitally I thought there could be some problem in the data format of certain fields in the flat file but everything looks to be correct, there are no errors in the transformation rules.
Here's the ST22 analysis :
what happened?
The current application program detected a situation which really
should not occur. Therefore, a termination with a short dump was
triggered on purpose by the key word MESSAGE (type X).
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_RSAWBN_NAV_TRACE===========CP" -
in "DUMP".
The main program was "RSAWBN_START ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 42
of the (Include) program "CL_RSAWBN_NAV_TRACE===========CM004".
I have been deleting requests from the infocube , datasources and deleting entries from PSA but always endup getting the "Error while updating to Infocube"
Have to figure out the solution as the planning team is waiting for me to copy the actual data to the plan cube

You should have the following format in the flatfile :
Considering today's date(18 Apr 2008) for example:
0CALDAY            20080418
0CALMONTH       200804
0FISCPER           0042008
0FISCPER3         0042008 (I think this can have additional periods as well, not sure though)
0FISCVARNT       No idea about this.
