Infopackage problem...

Hi Bi Gurus.
I have a issue, i am working on export data source..from prod to dev. when i am triggering infopackage in DEV no data is coming in the psa..instead its giving error.
in monitor screen its giving:

Error when updating Idocs in Source System
Diagnosis
Errors have been reported in Source System during IDoc update:
System Response
Some IDocs have error status.
Procedure
Check the IDocs in Source System . You do this using the extraction monitor.
Error handling:
How you resolve the errors depends on the error message you get.
Analysis:
No Idocs arrived from the source system.
The OLTP System outbox must be read in order to check further.
Please help me in rectifying this error.

Idoc 51 means Application document not posted.
Process
When BW executes an InfoPackage for data extraction, the system sends a request IDoc (RSRQST)
to the Application Link Enabler (ALE) inbox of the source system. This IDoc (Figure 1) contains
information such as the request ID (REQUEST), request date (REQDATE), request time
(REQTIME), Info-Source (ISOURCE), and update mode (UPDMODE). The source system
acknowledges the receipt of this IDoc by sending an info IDoc (RSINFO) back to the BW system.
The status is 0 if it is OK or 5 for a failure.
Once the source system receives the request IDoc successfully, it processes it according to the
information in the request. This request starts the extraction process in the source system (typically
a batch job with a naming convention that begins with BI_REQ).
The request IDoc status now becomes 53 (application document posted). This status means the
system cannot process the IDoc further.
The source system confirms the start of the extraction job by the source system to BW by sending
another info IDoc (RSINFO) with status = 1 .
Transactional Remote Function Calls (tRFCs) extract and transfer the data to BW in data packages.
Another info IDoc (RSINFO) with status = 2 sends information to BW about the data package
number and number of records transferred
At the conclusion of the data extraction process (i.e., when all the data records are extracted and
transferred to BW), an info IDoc (RSINFO) with status = 9 is sent to BW, which confirms the
extraction process.
If no data is found in the source system for extraction, an info IDoc (RSINFO) communicates this
to the BW system with status = 8.

Infopackage setting for retaining request for year cross overs

Hi
Following is the scenario:
I have two loads(flat files), one for monthly and one for YTD. The YTD files has to be replaced and the monthly files have to be retained. While this can be acheived using the settings in the infopackage, Problem arises when the year changes.
For E.g, from Jan2007 to Dec 2007 the YTD files would be replaced and monthly files will be maintained.
In jan 2008, when we load the YTD file(for Jan 2008), the last YTD file for year 2007 will be replaces, there by replacing the data for the year 2007.
Im figuring out how to handle this situation for year change.

Hi JP,
U can create a ABAP Routine of the type 6 (ABAP Routine),The field you are trying to populate is a select-option so you have to define the YTD from SY_DATUM.
the start date is 01JANYYYY, System will calculate YYYY from the current date.

Problem with Infopackage

I am having a Infopackage(delta) in Dev. When every I am trying to open that Infopackage I am getting short dump . even I am unable run ,open or change that Infopackage. But I am able to do these things in quality ..
I am facing the same problem with all infopackages under that Infosource. Even I am unable to create a new Infopackage under (only) that infosource .
In the dump I got the following messages
"MESSAGE_TYPE_X" C
"SAPLRSS1 " or "LRSS1F11 "
"RSM1_CHECK_FOR_DELTAUPD"
pls let me know what to do. Its urgent.

Problem in seeing the details in Monitor of Infopackage......

Hi,
I am doing INIT without data transfer.
When I go in monitor and try to see the details I not able to see any thing , its not displaying any of the TABS of monitor like Hedear , Status and Details.
When I go to data target and try to open from again it dont displays anything.
Can anybody let me know if have faced similar problem?

Hi Jeetu,
Please can U check the Scheduling options inthe Infopackage screen, plz ensure that the job has been scheduled either immediately or to a specific time period.
If it was a immediate run, plz check the job status in SM37 for both source system and BW. If the job has ran successfully then you should get some logs for that, U will not find logs unless until the job hasn't ran (or) started.

Problem running an infopackage

I have created a Generic extractor, for the Snnn planning structure.
But i have a problem when i run the infopackage to upload the data in BW.
The field SPBUP in the r/3 system is NUMC 6, and the corresponding infoobject (0FISCPER) is NUMC7, so, i create a routine in the transfer roule, to convert from numc6 to numc7, and it solves this problem.
But when i create an infopackage and use in the data selection the field SPBUP, for limiting the period of selection, the result is always zero records.
I think that the problem is that in BW the field is numc7 and in R/3 is numc6.
Is anyway of making a routine to convert the numc7 to numc6 when i run the infopackage?

i have tested the debug in the RSA3, but what i see, confirm my doubt, in my selection i have the format 'yyyymmm' and in the source system table (Snnn) it as the 'yyyymm' so it can´t do any selection.
I tested the conversion routine as sais Siggi, but it only mades the conversion for the output field: passes from 'yyyymmm' to 'yyyy.mmm'
Any tips more?

Infopackage Data Selection Problem

Hi All,
When i load master data from source system, in Infopackage data selection tab i give some criteria (e.g Customer number = 1000) But in infopackage the data load with all customer.(Not only 1000)
How can i solve this problem??

Please check the datasource in RSA3 and make sure that its working for the same selection.
Is there any routine in your infopackage and what is your source system?

Problem while creating Infopackage

I have a custom datasource and I need to populate the data to 2 Infocubes.
1. Can I make use of same Infosource for 2 different cubes or should I create seperate datasource and infosource?
2. When I am creating Infopackage it is throwing me an error saying
"Data target 'ZGATPDY ' removed from list of loadable targets; not loadable" and "Data target 'ZGATPDY ' does not belong to BWAPPL 'BI'; data target not loadable". What is the problem???
I thought I cannot use same datasource so, created new datasource, infosource once again...even then it is throwing me the same error...
Please advice me...

Last time, When I got this problem, I was confused.
Then I realized that, the data target was RE NAMED. so previous info package was still referrring to OLD data target's name.
May be you can start digging WHY the error is referring to ZGATPDY.
Once you find this or similar object in BW, may be you get more pointers to solve this issue.

Problems for Infopackage setting for Hierarchy Load

Hello Masters,
I have a problem, in editing the setting for Hierarchy Infopackage, I was asked to reset the Processing mode of infopackage directly into Infoobject, instead of PSA and then into Subsequent Data targets.
But here, i am unable to edit the setting because, every thing is gryed out. Only option selected before is "Only PSA, and then Update in subsequent Data Targets"
I have a question, like is it mandatory setting for Hierarchy Infopackage, to Update in PSA and then into Data Targets.
As i was able to edit settings for Attribute, and Text Infopackages even though these are in Process chains.
Could any one please help, if it is possible to edit Hierarchy Infopackage, instead of creating a new one.

Hi,
I have checked, the transfer rules, The Transfer Method used is PSA. I have to reset this infopackage directly to Infoobject, because this process chain runs for every four hrs, and it increases PSA size in tons.
Hence, i was asked to reset the setting for infopackage. But it is gryed out.

Infopackage import problem

Hi,
We are facing a problem when importing an infopackage from Quality to Production.
But the Transport was successfull from Development to Quality.
We got this message when the Transport is importing into Production.
INFO EXECUTION OF STANDAR <Production> 9 not needed: sxpra execution is switched off <Username> espr3<prd>.
Please help on this.

You may have the swith in the wrong position.
Switching on the Standard Transport System
You are in the Transport Connection function area of the Administrator Workbench.
To activate the standard transport system, select Edit → Transport → Switch-On Standard.
Note
New objects are no longer created as local objects. Instead, when creating any new object, a dialog box appears to specify the package and, if required, an additional box to specify the transport request. This also applies to BEx objects such as queries, workbooks and Web templates. New objects are automatically recorded.
However, this does not apply to those objects that were created in the $TMP package before the standard transport connection was switched on. These must be collected and transported using the BW transport connection in the Administrator Workbench.
Switching off the Standard Transport System
You are in the Transport Connection function area of the Administrator Workbench.
To deactivate the standard transport system, select Edit → Transport → Switch-Off Standard.
Note
New objects are once again created as local objects. When being transported for the first time, they must be collected and transported using the object collector in the BW Transport Connection of the Administrator Workbench.

Problem while running infopackage on GDS

Hi
I have made a GDS using Function module. It is showing correct records in RSA3. But when I am running infopackage of full mode it is in yellow state(still running state).
Presently data in RSA3 is 7 records which should take very less time while running infopackage.
Please help and suggest

You need to add the below code
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.

Problem In Executing InfoPackage

Hello Friends
I have a Process variant for Executing the InfoPackage in my Data Load Process Chain. However, I got the following error "RSM2708: Incorrect records were discovered. The incorrect records could not be written into a PSA.".
The details for this InfoPackage are as follows:
Update Mode: Full Update:
Processing: Not in PSA, but in Data targets immediate.
Source System - BW production system
Data Target: InfoCube
Posting Method: Always update transaction data
Doing further analysis, I found out that there is some issue with the Update of data package 38 which says "Value 'KW6302 ' (hex. '4B0057003600330030003200A000 ') of characteristic YSHPRODH3 contains invalid ". Now, I dont want to change the customization and allow the blocked value. It would be great if anyone can let me know how to change that particular value in the Source system.

Problem extracting data from R/3 to BW using infopackage?

I am trying to extract data from R/3 to BI7.0 through infopackage and its giving below error.
Request still running
Diagnosis
No errors found. The current process has probably not finished yet.
System Response
The ALE inbox of BI is identical to the ALE outbox of the source system
or
the maximum wait time for this request has not yet been exceeded
or
the background job has not yet finished in the source system.
Current status
No Idocs arrived from the source system
In the details tab:
Extraction (messages): Missing messages in yellow status
Missing message: Request received
Missing message: Number of sent records
Missing message: Selection completed
Transfer (IDocs and TRFC): Missing messages or warnings in yellow status
Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Selected number does not agree with transferred n
Processing (data packet): Everything OK in green status
Data Package 1 ( 370 Records ) : Everything OK
Inbound Processing ( 370 Records ) : No errors
Data package 1 received; Processing is starting
Update PSA ( 370 Records posted ) : No errors
Data package 1 is being saved...
370 records for data package 1 updated successfully, 0 records filtered
Processing end : No errors
Inbound processing of data package 1 finished.
Please anyone try to look at this issue and give me better soluttion ASAP.

Hi ,
The infopackage run for avery long time in yellow state with out changing to green, This might happen due to connection error(get in touch with your basis team) or due to over load on the system.
eventhough the status of request is finished in source system, the job will be executing in the BI.
1)Wait for sometime for the request to turn out green automatically or
2)make the request to red and delte, repeat the infopackage step.
3)IF you know about the no of records that need to be transferred and if the total records are transferred already, manually change the request to green.

BI 7.0 delta problem in infopackage - DTP

I have my DTP set as delta going to a DSO.
FLOW -
Generic data source (numeric pointer) to DSO to cube.
How do I setup infopackages between data source (PSA) and source system.....
In infopackage, I am getting only 2 options -- Init or full load. How do create delta infopackages...

Hi Lisa,
U need to maintain a separate Infopackge for the Delta. Once u take the init then u can able to see the Delta option in Infopackage..
In BI7.0 for loading the data from PSA to the target u need to use the DTP in place of the Infopackage as in the case of 3.x..
Infopackage's are used to load the data till PSA.. and from PSA the DTP will come into picture..

Process Chain Problem - infopackage do not run

I am using BW 7.0, when i execute process chain some info packages of initialization do not start, if execute those infopackages manually they are execute correctly, do you have any idea about what is happening ? Could you help me ?

INIT Infopackage is used to set the delta pointer.
Are you using init infopackage in process chain or delta infopackage?
You should use Delta one.

Problem in OLAP Variable for InfoPackage

Hi All ,
My requiremnt is to get all the Blank values for VERSION field from the R/3 to BW .
So I created a OLAP variable and given that variable in the InfoPackage.
code i written is
IF p_vnam = 'ZS_BLKVR'.
    CLEAR: l_s_range.
    l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
    l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
    l_s_range-low   = '' .
    l_s_range-high = '' .
    APPEND l_s_range TO p_t_range.
    CLEAR: l_s_range.
ENDIF.
Now when iam loading data in BW , it is giving zero records , but there are records in r/3 with blank values for VERSION field.
in the selection critria it is displaying as '#' for Version in the monitor.
So is there any other way to get the Blank values VERSION records from R/3

Hi Ravi,
You can write an ABAP routine to populate the VERSION field. Choose type '6' from the drop-dwon and try the following code,
loop at l_t_range into l_s_range where fieldname = 'VERSION'.
l_s_range-low = ' '.
modify l_t_range from l_s_range.
endloop.
If it doesn't work then try to use the other way round. Find out what are the non-zero values possibel for version and exclude all the values from the selection.
