Infopackage scheduler

hi sap gurus,
In the INFOPACKAGE ,scheduler (maintain infopackage Screen ) --->in the SCHEDULE TAB -
> i changed the option "START LOAD IMMIDIATELY" TO "START LOAD LATER IN BACKGROUND" by mistake .I am not able to revert back the option.
can any body tell me how to change the option back to START LOAD IMMIDIATELY.please

Copy the infopackage ID which starts with ZPAK_*. Then go to SE16, give the table name as RSSDBATCH -> give this infopackage id as the selection for log.object. Delete the corresponding entry from this table and the option START LOAD IMMEDIATELY will appear in the infopackage.

Add authorization check in Infopackage Scheduler for option 6-ABAP Routine

We want to add an authorization check in routine rssm_routines_maintain. This is in the Infopackage scheduler in the Data Selection tab under the column Type after selecting type=6(ABAP Routine). This is a core modification. We have checked with our Security team with traces and found nothing available to help us.
Two questions:
1) Is there any other way we can control who can create/change ABAP code by this method ?
2) Does anyone see this causing problems if we were to make a change to the routine to add code to do an authorization check.

Hi Chandran, we need to restrict a certain group of BW Developers from writing code in the abap routine (option 6 ) in the Infopackage of the Data Selection Tab in column Type.
The concern is that if having access to write abap code, a person can practically do as heéshe pleases with ABAP code and it is a concern.
Do you have any solution/suggestions to lock this down?

Transaction code for infopackage scheduling

Hi,
Does any know what the standard transaction code is for infopackage scheduling (other than RSA1)? Is there any other option to by pass the RSA1 code and go to the infopackage directly to upload an external file to the infocube? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

RSA1 is a standard TCODE for SAP-BI or BW.
As far as my guesses, there was no standard transaction to run a Infopackage....
Instead of using tht still if u need to scedule a package,
1) If ur Infopackage is included in process chains, then u can goto RSPC to the same chain where the infopackage was included and there on the loading step if u rightclick-->display variant.....then it'll goto scheduler window..there u can start...
2) If u have run the same package before anytime and u remember the date, u can goto RSMO and filter according to IP selections and u'll get all the packages run on tht day...
If we execute with tht selection u'll get the monitor of the load..ther from the header tab...in the IP selction u can schedule the same without using RSA1..
But RSA1 is the easy way to trace via data source..

Options 0 to 7(olap variable) in infopackage Scheduler screen

Hi Pioneers,
I've seen 0 to 7 options in the selection Tabpage of Infopackage scheduler screen(option TYPE beside a date selection).
0(Yesterday),1(last week),2(last month)....6(Abap code),7(Olap variable).Could any one please let me know what do these options does?If I am not wrong are these to pick data accordingly(weeek,month..).Please give me a clear picture

this field is to used to populate date range field dynamically
suppose u r loading any particular infopackage weekly for previous weeks data (monthly or daily) then u can use option 1 (2 or 0).
but if u want u r own logic to populate this range in data selection tab for loading then u have to write routine in ABAP in option 6.

No DataTarget found from InfoPackage Scheduler

Hi All,
I am trying to load flat file data into Info Cube from InfoPackage Scheduler in Production System. When i look the Data Target tab , it doesn't have the Data Target ( Info Cube ) eventhough my update rules are active from the infosource to Infocube.
I will appreciate for ur help and letme know how can i find my InfoCube under data target tab at InfoPackage Scheduler.

Check this,
Go to Cube --> right click --> show Data Flow --> click the technical names On and see whether the flow is correct or not..
Create a new InfoPackage and try once again..

Selection Screen for Infopackage schedule

Hi Guys,
I want to create a selection screen which appears when a user schedules an infopackage so that the user can enter the posting period, year from and to values and the load takes place for those values.
I want to do this so that the infopackage can be scheduled for what ever period the user enters.
Can somebody please tell me how to write the program/or define BADI with this req?

To me the easiest is the following :
- Create some variables stored in TVARVC.
- In your infopackage, add routines to read the TVARVC variables values
- Create an abap with some select options.
- Creat a process chain that starts the infopackage using an event and scheduled periodically
This abap's algorithm is quite simple :
update from the select options the TVARV values
raise event that starts the chain (this avoid authorisations problems vers the functionto start a chain)

Exception from InfoPackage.Schedule BAPI

Hi all,
I'm working on a BW integration project, using the Staging BAPIs for the BIW from the .NET Connector. I have been able to create the InfoObjects, InfoCubes, etc... however I am running into a problem I just can't get around. I am trying to schedule an InfoPackage to upload data in a csv file on my workstation. However, when I call the Schedule BAPI (BAPI_IPAK_START), I get an exception that doesn't make much sense to me: "An upload from the client workstation in the background is not possible". I'm not using a background thread, so I'm a little confused where this comes from. If I schedule the package from the BW Administrator, it schedules and uploads with no problems. Does anyone have any idea where I may be going wrong here?

The only difference is so far, I am only testing it from SAP GUI ( i.e calling BAPI functions from ABAP code)

Change infopackage scheduling rom Start later in background to immediate

Hi all,
I am having the following issue,
How to make permanent changes to Infopackage which are included in process
My Infopackage is containing the following setting in Schedule Tab
1. Start later in background (Immediately)
This infopackage is included in one process chain.
I am changing the above setting to Start Data Load Immediately and saving it, but when I am opening that infopackage again the setting is going back to Start later in background (Immediately) .
Please let me know how can I change the setting Start later in background (Immediately) to start Data load Immediately perfectly .

Hey Raj,
Once you save the job as run in background it cannot be saved back to the run immediate. But that doesnt mean that your job aint set to immediate.
Infact within the scheduling tab itself you will notice many tabs
namely
Immediate
Date/Time
Afterjob
afterevent
at operation mode etc
Now observe when you have set it as immediate, as soon as you click on the immediate tab Under Date/time you would see a small faded check box with Immediate start checked. This says that the job would start immediately if you are not going to use the other options.
Bottom line Start date load immediately and start later in background with
immediate start checkbox faded gives the same effect unless u are having other specifications set.
If you click on start with either of the options its going to start immediately. So dont worry abt the radio button being activated for background.

Date Selection in InfoPackage Scheduler

I am having problem in loading the data from the InfoPackage under the selection options for the "Date". When I try to enter a range of date like 12-2-2008 to 18-2-2008, I cannot load any data and it monitor screen return in 0 records, when I enter the date like 12-2-2008, the the data can be extracted out succesffully and return in 42 records.
I try to extract the data in RSA3, I enter the same thing for the range of values: 12-2-2008 to 18-2-2008, I manage to extract the records for the date 12-2-2008 only, which is 42 records, but the correct amount records from the range of the date should be 120 records. But the log only show 42 records in this case, and the extraction did not perform successfully to extract the data between the date: 12-2-2008 to 18-2-2008. When I enter single value: 12-2-2008, the extraction return to 42 records.
It will be appreciated if someone here can help me here. Thanks =)

in RSA3 by default the no. of records will be 100 increase to 1000 ro 2000
give the date range you may see all the records

ABAP Code Date Selection for InfoPackage Scheduler

Hello Group
I need to automate the selection of valid condition records for an extraction that have a From and To date range.
I noticed there is an option (Routine for time interval) to write ABAP code along with a template that is available in the InfoPackage.
I think the logic for the selection would be any record
Valid from       <= today
Valid to           >= today
Can anyone help with the ABAP code?
The template is as follows:
program conversion_routine.
Type pools used by conversion program
type-pools: rsarc, rsarr, rssm.
tables: rsldpsel.
Global code used by conversion rules

I resolved the problem . I have changed the order of read table l_t_range because I need the header .
In the loop at datos I add the line l_t_range-iobjnm = 'ZXGE_UNO'.
The problem wasn't the call RFC it was that I built l_t_range bad. I need the infoObject name.

InfoPackage selection offset with OLAP variable

Hi Bw Gurus,
I have a requirement to load ODS with full upload everytime but in order to reduce repeated loads I am trying to use a DATE field which is not part of communication str. as a selection critera in InfoPacakge.
I changed DS to include this field avaialable for selection and It's working fine when I input date to and from values hard coded in InfoPackage.
Further I am trying to automate this InfoPackage scheduled weekly and I need to include date offset value for this DATE field to load for additional last 2 weeks every time to capture changes for already loaded data.
I have created OLAP customer exit variable having Date interval for Date starting from last 3 weeks to Current DAte and included in InfoPackage selection for DATE field but it's not working. By the way if someone can explain what's meaning for two columns there for TYPE(Variable change to selection.....) and detail for type.
Any clue for reason or any other way to accomplish this requirement?

i am trying to load the data everyweek ( i have date field ),so i have selected OLAP Variable option -7 and there i have selected 0WEEK,but data is not comining from R/3,then i have selected the option -6 abap code,i have written code to get the date range,even though i am not able to retrive the data.

Function module to trigger Infopackages

Hi,
Need your help to clarify certain doubts,
Std. Infopackage name (0PAK*) will be same for each and every master data object through out all the systems ??
Means suppose 0MATERIAL_ATTR has infopackage 0PAKXXX that is been installed by system from BC .
Will it be the same if i will install for another system ?
And also if there is any function module to trigger infopackage schedule , pls let me know.

Hi,
I am not sure whether you can directly trigger the infopackage through function module. But there is an alternative way.
You can create an event in the transaction sm62 and in the infopackage scheduler you can give that event name.
You can trigger this event by using the function module "RSSM_EVENT_RAISE" and subsequently you can trigger the infopackage.

Infopackage size

Hi,
In Info Package under Scheduler->Data Default Transfer, we set the datapacket size and number of packets per info idoc. So if we take the default setting (datapacket size = 1000, number of packets per info idoc = 10), and we got some 10 records to be transferred,So does it mean that these 10 records get splitted into 10 packets, each packet conataining 1 record? Please correct me if I am wrong...
What exactly is Info Idoc? How it is related to data transfer?

All is explained in the OSS Notes...anyway:
You can look up the TRANSFER STRUCTURE SIZE (extract structure) in table ROOSOURCE in the active version of the DataSource and determine its size via SE11 (DDIC) -> Utilities -> Runtime object -> Table length.
The system default values of 10,000 or 100,000 are valid for parameter MAXSIZE and MAXLINES (see F1 help for the corresponding fields in ROIDOCPRMS). You can overwrite these parameters in table ROIDOCPRMS on a system specific basis by maintaining via "Maintain General settings for extractors". In addition, there is the option of overriding these values. In the scheduler (InfoPackage->Scheduler) you can only reduce the MAXSIZE.
The advantage of doing the maintenance via the scheduler is that the values are InfoSource-specific.

      you can precalculate and distribute(thru mail) the query, workbook and webtemplate through online link or html file to the receipents (users).

Infopackage scheduling:
