Here i want to load master data for hierarchies into my BI system, according to my knowledge we hav to do some changes in infopackage for loading hierarchies. I want to knw the infopackage settings for hierarchies for BI 7.0 version, also i want to knw the infopackage settings for BW 3.5 version. It seems there is a hude difference on the infopackage window for both the versions, please advice on this.

i have already tried  ; and , for seperator, but the preview is all messed up.
    thanks

    Hi Adnan,
First you create a source system for flat file loading.
Do this in RSA1 - Source Systems. Via context menu, create it in node "File".
Then, goto the RSA1 - Datasources view. Choose the corrrect source system.
Create a datasource and assign fields.
Use your datasource to load data into infoobject, datastore using a transformation between the datasource and datastore.
Create and schedule an infopackage to load to PSA.
Create and schedule a DTP to load into target.

  • Selection for loading hierarchies into BW

    Hi friends,
I have a hierarchy to be loaded into BW from R/3. I created an Infopackage and there is only one radiobutton for hierarchy. I refreshed the available hierarchy list but still, I get only one selection. I checked in RSA3 and there also, I have only one selection available. But, in R/3, I have many more hierarchies to be loaded. I have to get the remaining hierarchies in the available list. How can I get them into the available list? Any help in this regard will be appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards
    Subray Hegde.

Only the top node of a hierarchy is displayed within an infopackage.
Is it possible that your several hierarchies are actually lower level nodes of a higher-level hierarchy?  For example, it is possible to have several cost element groups (hierarchies), which rollup to higher level nodes.  It is only the top nodes which are available for extracting into BW.
Using the cost element example (sorry, but I'm not well-versed in Funds Mgt), in R/3, access t-code KAH3 to display cost element groups.  After clicking the drop-down arrow, the system presents a dialog window which includes options of displaying "All nodes" and "Top nodes".  Within a hierarchy infopackage for 0COSTELMNT, you should see one hierarchy available for each top node displayed in R/3.
    Hope this helps.

  • Wht is the relevant for BW Flag option in the infopackage for loading Hier

    Hello Gurus,
Whta is the relevant for BW Flag option in the infopackage for loading Hierarchies? What happens when you turn this on?
    Thanks
    Simmi

As the hierarchies are stored in combination with the OLTP system, when you tend to load from a flat file, the system doesnt allow you to maintain this feature, as this hierarchy would be relevant to BI.
    Diagnosis
The relevant hierarchies in BI are stored according to the combination DataSource/source system.
If you want to change the selection of BI-relevant hierarchies, this change is effective for all InfoPackages that have been created for the same DataSource/source system combination.
    Procedure
Check all other InfoPackages for DataSource 0COSTCENTER_0101_HIER and source system PRDCLT100 to see whether the change executed is also appropriate for these InfoPackages.
    Procedure for System Administration
If you want to load a hierarchy in a different InfoPackage (which will be marked as non BI-relevant as a result of your changes) the selections made for this InfoPackage will be lost and The InfoPackage can no longer load.
Errors will occur when you start the InfoPackages. The monitor produces an error message to say that a valid hierarchy selection has to be made.

  • How to load hierarchies using process chains

    Hi ,
Can any one please explain the steps for loading hierarchies using process chain.whenever i drag the hierarchy infopcakage Save variant is also coming by default,so do we need to have different SAve variant for different hierarchy infopackages or can we have one save variant for all the hierarchy variables.
    Thanks,
    Vaka

    Hello Veka,
    How r u ?
Yes ! SAVE Variant & Attribute Change Run will add up while loading the Hierarchy InfoPackage.
Provide the InfoObject Name for which u r loading the Hierarchy in the SAVE variant and SAVE it. The same will be transferred to the Attribute Change Run also.
If u r creating the Chain with more InfoPackages then have the Save Variant & Attribute Change Run at the last.

  • Problems for Infopackage setting for Hierarchy Load

    Hello Masters,
I have a problem, in editing the setting for Hierarchy Infopackage, I was asked to reset the Processing mode of infopackage directly into Infoobject, instead of PSA and then into Subsequent Data targets.
But here, i am unable to edit the setting because, every thing is gryed out. Only option selected  before is "Only PSA, and then Update in subsequent Data Targets"
I have a question, like is it mandatory setting for Hierarchy Infopackage, to Update in PSA and then into Data Targets.
As i was able to edit settings for Attribute, and Text Infopackages even though these are in Process chains.
Could any one please help, if it is possible to edit Hierarchy Infopackage, instead of creating a new one.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Raghu

    Hi,
I have checked, the transfer rules, The Transfer Method used is PSA. I have to reset this infopackage directly to Infoobject, because this process chain runs for every four hrs, and it increases PSA size in tons.
Hence, i was asked to reset the setting for infopackage. But it is gryed out.
    Thank you,
    Regards

  • Loading hierarchies in BW from excel

    Hi all ,
how to load hierarchies from excel into the BW .
do the excels need to be in .csv format or can they be loaded from .xls format.
do i need to have a specific format of the columns in excel as a pre-requisite for loading .
please also let me know all pre-requisites for format of excel.

    Hi Neeraj,
the file needs to be in a special format and depends on the hierarchy of your infoobject, whether it is time-dependent or not. You can see the necessary file structure if you goto infosource, choose your hierarchy datasource. then you will find a button hierarchy structure. If you press it you will see a table with the expected columns. The file should be an csv file. You select it in the infopackage to your infosource. You can upload it directly from your desktop but only if you start the package immediately. The file must not be in use by anyone other, otherwise load fails. be careful if you number your nodes. the number must be unique
ue in the file. the node numbers are the keys for your infoobject or of infoobject 0HIERNODE for text nodes.
I'm looking for a sample file if you want.
    Kind regards,
    Juergen

    >at the field name
    i choose RACCT .
which table  to choose to create to data source ?
    the data source is 4R_SAKNR_0000_HIER
    thanks in advance,
    yuval

    Dear,
If i understood correctly yours questions, you would like to know the details for GL account hierarchy.
There are two hierarchy available at ECC side ( GL account and FS Item level). Both used for analyzing the financial data. You can have multiple hierarchy in ECC system to see and analyze the data and same way you can have multiple hierarchy can load in SAP BI at info object level and later restrict the report at query designer level or run time.
No need to create any custom data source for uploading the GL hierarchy. Pls check with SAP FI consultant to know the correct hierarchy to upload.
Activate both of data source and use the InfoPackage  at info object level to upload the hierarchy. In info package (SAP BI) you can see the option ( Available hierarchy at OLTP), at a time you can select one hierarchy to upload. later you can go by restricted KPI with filtering with proper node to get the desired report output using BE-x.
Hope you get the answer. Best of luck.

    Hi Andy,
Please try and reduce the size of datapackage in the infopackage screeen, save the changes to the infopackage and try and execute the load.  As far as I understand the settings for datapackage would be somewhere between 10,000 (or) 20,000 records per data package.  Try and make it 5000 and execute the load.  Even if that doesn't work try and make it 1000 and run the load.  I hope U r executing 0BPARTNER attribute data load.  So, it shouldn't create big problem.  Please try to reduce the package size and try Ur luck.  Hope this will solve Ur problem.

  • Problem loading hierarchies after upgrade 7.0

    Hi,
We have just upgraded our development-system from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 (SP15). When we try to load hierarchies with a process chain we got this error message:
No hierarchy found for the selection criteria entered (RSAR 313).
We first do a LOAD in the chain and that part is ok. After that we have a SAVE and it's here we got the problem.
I've looked at OSS-note 1168238, but it does not help us.
Have anyone else had the same problem?
    Thanks,
    Ingmarie

    Hi,
The problem can happen that the Hierarchy save step starts to early in the chain if the hierarchy load takes longer then the time
out time configured in the monitor or the infopackage. In the infopackage if you goto the menu option "scheduler" > "Timeout time"
you can check what the setting for the timeout time is for the hierarchy load. If the timeout time is shorter then the actual time it took
to load the hierarchy then you should increase the value of the time out time. In the Hierarchy save process type the option
"activate hierarchies after loading or mark for activation" should always be flagged as this can also cause the problem, see the note
    652856.
