Infopackage -- type clarifications plz

Hi Gurus,
in infopackage in the DATA SELECTION TAB PAGE.
we have few options to have the data selection, in that i have found the one listed below when i tried
to find the values for it gave
<b>TYPE (VARIABLE CHANGE TO SELECTION VALUES WITH BACKGROUND PROCESSING)
5 FREE TEMPORAL SELECTION (As many fields as you like)
6 ABAP ROUTINES
7 OLAP VARIABLES</b>
can somebody kindly explain me what does this type option means and what are these
5, 6, 7 mean actually

Infopackage type not equal datasource type

Hi!
I have message "Infopackage type T <> datasource type D".
I load master data by transaction datasource. I don't see any problem.
this mean that Infopackage for texts data, datasource for transaction data.
But why it happens?

"I load data to Characteristic text and attribute using one datasorce 3.x for transaction data."... I am not sure what it means...
we need to have to different datasources for loading the Texts and Attributes... in the 3.x method, the Infosource appears to be the same for both (in fact, the infosource structure is automatically adjusted depending the datasource).. but we need to have two different datasources.. please create a new generic data for the other, if one of the datasources is not available..
if you can give more details, like the name of the data source, name of the Infoobject you are loading etc.. then I can provide more accurate answers.

Hi Nagesh,
Processing types option for EBS is available in FF_5 screen itself. Please use radio button for Post Immediately or Generate Batch input session. Once you select "Generate Batch Input session, you have to use T-code SM35.

Reference type clarification

I was studying the training CD from Sun Java and at one point it says that a variable of type of a certain object keeps the value of the allocated memory for the object rather than the object itself. So far so good
So if the we have the following:
MyDate my_birth = new MyDate(22, 7, 1964);
MyDate anotherDate = my_birth;
However when we create a second variable of the type MyDate and copy my_birth into it what we have done is copied the value of the allocated memory
my_birth memory 0x12345678
anotherDate memory 0x12345678
but we have one object in memory and not too.
So this to me means that when I alter the object of anotherDate then my_birth object has changed since it's the same object.
But when I use
anotherDate = anotherDate.addDays(3);
System.out.println(my_birth);
System.out.println(anotherDate)
I have another date printing out on anotherDate and the initial date on my_birth. Wasn't my_birth supposed to be the same as anotherDate?

This line:
anotherDate = anotherDate.addDays(3);is making anotherDate reference a new instance (if that is what addDays returns), so anotherDate and my_birth are no longer referencing the same instance.

Get the object ID, processing status for each billing document number and

i hope to use in NAST TABLE.

Use
declare the field b_vbeln of length u want adding length for 2 '0' also.
ex:- Vbeln length = 10
       b_vbeln type i length 12.
b_vbeln = vbeln.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT'
EXPORTING
input = b_vbeln
IMPORTING
OUTPUT = b_vbeln.
U will get b_vbeln with 2 '0' or always the value be of 12 length.

If you guarantee that your mappin fulfill the definition there will be no errors in other case you should get an error.
Definition: token represents tokenized strings. The ·value space· of token is the set of strings that do not contain the carriage return (#xD), line feed (#xA) nor tab (#x9) characters, that have no leading or trailing spaces (#x20) and that have no internal sequences of two or more spaces. The ·lexical space· of token is the set of strings that do not contain the carriage return (#xD), line feed (#xA) nor tab (#x9) characters, that have no leading or trailing spaces (#x20) and that have no internal sequences of two or more spaces. The ·base type· of token is normalizedString.

Incompitable type problem plz help

I was able to run the code that you posted, except that I had to remove the second iteration of "public class Test". Maybe the compiler thought you were trying to create an inner class with the same name as the parent class.

Excise Invoice for ther movement type

Dear ALL SAP Gurus,
In 100% EOU plant when we purchase materials against CT3 there is no excise duties on purchase. But when we purchase material without CT3 there are excise duties which will get add into material cost.
When same material I transfered to other plant , may I have to make excise invoice( J1IS and J1IV). Client does not have any cenvatable facility.
Also when I return this material to vendor whether J1IS and J1IV has be necessory.
Please explain this scenarios.

Hi,
PLz maintian the excise data for that mterial in ithe Excise master data J1ID.
1.For no excise dute just select as No excise duty at the time of MIGO from Excise invoice tab on the top.
2.For Excise duty select as exise duty during MIGO.
3.For STOS maintain as assessable value in the J1ID master data for that material in the supplying plant, the excise calculated Through J1IS as per assessable value u maintained in the master data.
4.For vendor returns, reverse the FI documents manually for MIRO, then cancel the material doc after u post the Excise invoice , then agian u cancel the Excise invoice so that excise registers can be reversed. Then u do the vendor returns through MOGO and 122 Mov type.
Plz check and clear.

Can not converted to be a charter-type field

As i m new in abap . i wrote this code and received charter type error.

error is
'AA' can not converted to a character-type field.

This is Unicode problem, In unicode systme some restriction in programing.
There is three kid of data type
Character Processing ( C, N, D, T and STRING ).
Byte Processing Mode ( X and XString ).
Numeric Data Type ( I, P , F ).
whenever in structure all kind of data types are used then you can not use WRITE and then whole structure name.
in LFA1 in ECC6.0 if any custom fields are not added then up to length 1232 is determined as Character.
so if you will give aa(1232) it will work similarlly other kid of remainig data tpe you move in another structure of required format and then check.
REPORT ZT11.

How to give authorization for create and change particular Condition Type

In my requirement is , Only one user can be authorized to create and change a particular condition type 'ZABC' in vk11 and vk12 .
For remaining condition type can be used as in normal .
How to do this ? How to give authorization for a particular user for particular condition type ?

u can check A.Object V_KOND_VEA, in user profile u can assign condition type or tables.
have a word with ur basis guy , so he can help u in better way.

Sorting for storage type in LM12

LM12 - change sort display so that alpha storage types with bin info displayed before numeric storage type and bin info.
The standard LM12 shows sort order for storage type as numeric storage types first then alpha storage types.
But User is requesting that alpha storage types are displayed first along with relevant info in alpha order. Standard SAP displays numeric storage type first and then alpha storage types.
Plz can any one help us to give solution for above issue.

SAP help of the customizing node (sPRO > LE > WM > Strategies > Activate Storage type Search):
If you want the system to search through the entire warehouse number for stock pick, enter "***" (stands for strignent FIFO) as the storage type. The system then will search the entire warehouse for the oldest stock of the material. The entry "+ + +" means that the system branches to the user exit to the stringest FIFO process (MWMT0013).

Movement Type:309

Hello Experts,
I m developind i report, in which i m calculating closing balance , for which i m incorporating '309'' movement type foe which i need to add in material & subtract from another material
One main internal table is there in which all material number is there. How can I incorporate this movement type.

Hello,
Before you go in for your development, please check if standard report provided by SAP meets your requirements.
To calculate closing balance only 309 movement type is not sufficient. You need to take care of all the movement types ( Goods Receipts done with different movement type, Good Issues, Adjustments etc) which are carried out in your company to arrive at correct closing balance for each material. Please speak to your functional consultants to get correct requirements. This will reduce your development time.
