Infoset join two ODS no authrization

I have created an Infoset joining two ODS's the primary ODS (grey) has 0Orgunit in it and the second ODS's (white) hasn't. When you run the query against the infoset the authorization on the orgunit isn't working and you can see the whole of the organization no matter what level of authorization the user has.
I have looked in RSSM and you can not add the Infoset into the Authorization objects.
If anyone can shed any light on to why the authorization isn't working it would be appreciated.

Problem in Generating the Infoset report(two ODS joining)

While exectuing the Report i am getting the following output.

10 30,000 8000(wrong data)
Sal2 is summed twice since in ODS A it is having 2 records.
My requirement is i wnat O/P as
B Sal1 Sal2
10 30,000 4000

If you create a multiprovider with the two ODS you wont have this problem.

How two join two ODS objects in an Infoset

I have an infoset that is created on two ODS object, one ODS is a business content that contains more than 30 fields and 2 Key Fields, the second one that i created contains the 2 key fields plus one additional field which was initially missing in the original ODS. Then i created a Infoset with these two ODS, now the problem is i do not know how to link these two info objects and where to specify the join condition. i right clicked and selected left join, inner join etc. whatever i did and when i try to activate the infoset i keep getting this error "Not all objects are linked with ON conditions". How can i get rid of this please help

u will need to set the join between the key fields..
place mouse on the key field in one ODS..hold mouse button and drag..and then drop cursor..on same key field in the 2nd ODS..u will see a line joining the key fields b/w the 2 ODS's..
do same for other key fields too..
the connected lines are the join condition..
now activate..should work..

ABAP routine to join two ODS objects into one

Hi there,
i have two ODS objects related to each other. and i want to load them into another ODS object and join them so to say.
as far as i got now, it seems that the only way to do this is an ABAP routine in the update rules. ca nanyone give me a hint on how to do this? no clue how ABAP works yet.
i suppose there must be some template or something because i think others must have had the same issue before. anyone who already solved this?

Join two ODS into one cube!

Hello Experts -
I need to join fields of 2 ODS into one cube. I know the common field. We are in BI 7.0.
Can someone guide me through the steps?
I know there are two transformation rules. And I have created them. How do I link them so that I have one record when the common field matches?

What your are trying is very complicated, if you want to do infoset that even worst, not only data wise, but only performance. If you are planning to get key figure only from one ods and only characteristics coming from different ods, infoset might work as long as you know the relationship (one-to-one relationship will work fine in infoset). Performance wise, MP is very good, but the question again, you will get multiple lines unlike infoset.
So before, someone decided to use infoset, MP or even some other data model, they need to know well the reporting requirement and well divers in the relationship of the ods.
I have faced the same situation in many of my projects, there are places I used infoset and MP, and also created a different infoobject as a master data and turned the attributes as NAV. Attribute.

I am getting these 2 errors while making a join between ODS In InfoSet
1).Incomplete ON conditions in an outer join
2).Invalid ON condition for left outer join (ZSDO015)
Please help what to do?

Can you join two DSO's?

We have tried joining two DSO's and are getting the warning that "more than one datasource has been used in this report". It appears that the DSO driver does not support joins. The report runs but it is VERY slow, the same sort of performance you get when you try to join data from two datasources that are actually different (like two different SQL Server databases or an Oracle table joined to a SQL Server table). It appears that this is not a supported function with the DSO driver. Any thoughts?

Yes, we have created the joins between the two DSOs. We are looking into using the Open SQL driver to go against the base tables to see if that will work. This is how the original ODS driver used to work.
Update: After changing the join type to a left outer join the performance improved signficantly. Although not ideal it looks like it will be fine for our requirements. This particular report will be run monthly and scheduled to run overnight.

Creating a view on two ODS using the most actual value of Timestamp

Hi All,
I am creating a view on two ODS. I have made an internal join of the field timestamp from both the tables. But the timestamp in bot ODS do not match, which is why there is no data visible in the view.
There is a requirement that the value of timestamp to be used has to be the most actual value of timestamp from the two ODS.
I would be grateful if some pointers regarding the same could be provided.

Hi Shruti,
ODS should not be linked on Timestamp basis, there must be some other alternatives like document number, date etc etc...
In other case if its possible to include addtional key figure in to ODS then
create a dummy key figure , in the aggregation tab page Select Exception aggregate as "Last Value" and in the "agg.ref char" Select time stamp as info object. This setting will make sure that in the ODS you have only last updated data.

Joining two datasources using an InfoSource

Hello Experts,
is it possoble to join two datasources (two database tables sharing an attribute) using an InfoSource as it works with two InfoSources and one ODS?

In your source system, create a view in se38 with your tables. Then, still in your source system, go to t.c. SBIW and create a new DataSource with this view. Then go to your BW, replicate DataSources of your source system and activate.
I have not explained all the steps but is not a very dificult process, so i think you will not have problems.

Which Infoset join to use.

I have a scenario in which I have one Infocube A and one ODS B.
I want to display all the data records from Infocube A and some of the fields for which I dont have data in A, I want to get it from DSO B.
Which Infoset Join should I use in this case and how to create that join?

Hi,
with left outer Join from all the data recors of Cube A data will come , at the same time which ever records arr there common both targets tose records will come.
But in your case if some of the more records are there in DSO B ,which are not having in cube , if it is the case it will not fulfill your requiremnent.
Multiprovider is better option in both the targets which ever the records are all the records will be updated. but which ever the record are having common characterstics for those fields data will come , if the caharcters are differeent in both targets then some oh the values( which are not ahving in other target) we could not get.

I am trying to develop a query in MS Access 2010 to join two tables using three joins, one of which is a (between) date range. The tables are contained in Access. The reason
the tables are contained in access because they are imported from different ODBC warehouses and the data is formatted for uniformity. I believe this cannot be developed using MS Visual Query Designer. I think writing a query in SQL would be suiting this project.
ABCPART links to XYZPART. ABCSERIAL links to XYZSERIAL. ABCDATE links to (between) XYZDATE1 and ZYZDATE2.

Thank you for the looking at the post. The actual table names are rather ambiguous. I renamed them so it would make more sense. I will explain more and give the actual names. What I do not have is the actual data in the table. That is something I don't have
on this computer. There are no "Null" fields in either of the tables.
This table has many orders (MSORDER) that need to match one order (GLORDER) in GLORDR. This is based on MSPART joined to GLPART, MSSERIAL joined to GLSERIAL, and MSOPNDATE joined if it falls between GLSTARTDATE and GLENDDATE.

Linking two ODS objects using a multiprovider

Hello Gurus,
I need to link two ODS objects and both are having 3 common characteristics and the relationship between the two objects are one to many.
My questions would be....
1)When the relationship is one to many can I set it up in the multiprovider to sum it up and show in the report?
2)I have 5 other charaterstics that I need to report(Slice and dice) on, but these are not common ones to both ODS objects. Is it possible for the user to get the report based on these charaterstics also? Or do I need to make sure that these 5 also exist in both DOS objects?

Thank you very much for your reply. But I have few concerns.
1)One to many relationship will not have any effect on the data linking since the multiprovider clubs the key figures on common characteristics. I tried this on the system and it worked.
2)The problem would be not having similar characteristics on both infoproviders. So if I want to report on the chars individually it will have a problem( Will come as non assigned values)
But the documentation says the multiprovider supports Homogenous and Heterogeneous cases. Please refer the following link.

I am not sure what I can do now....whether to get all the characteristics in both infoproviders by enhancing the them. Or is there another way?
And lastly the scenario I am looking at is billing and cost of goods. So I might find records in cost of goods which may not have corresponding records in billing.(There can be goods in stock which need to be billed)The problem would be the way multiprovider link records(union) so it will have all the records from both sides even if they do not correspond to each other.

Using a view to join two tables

Thank you in advance for any advice you can lend.
I am using this code in my MySQL db to create a view.
select
    job.id as job_id,
    umr_cost_calculation.plant_name,
    max(umr_cost_calculation.id) as max_id

group by job.id , umr_cost_calculation.plant_name
I did this so I can join two tables and pull in the most current cost data for a specific plant. The report will, at times, show the wrong (older) data. I can re-run the report, filter to just the one job and see again the wrong data. When I add the max_id to the report, it display the id and updates the report with the correct data. It appears that the view was stale and by adding the ID to the report this fixed the issue.
1) Is this the best way to make this join? I don't see how Crystal supports a subquery to make a join (this is why I used the view).
2) If I leave the max_id on the report, will this force the view to always update?
