InfoView date prompts problem

Hi everyone,
I have problem with prompt summary object in InfoView. In universe I have date prompts, e.x:
@Prompt('Period from [yyyy-mm-dd]','D',,MONO,FREE)
but at prompt summary InfoView shows some numbers, e.x:
Period from [yyyy-mm-dd] 1315180800000
I have no idea what causes this situation.

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to get Date Prompts from one Date Column. This is the approach i followed from previous post.
Re: how to get date prompts from one date column
My Approach
1) In the report I set filter on Date column with presentation variable as startdate with some default date and in the fx window i applied
CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN table.Date ELSE table.Date END
2) I repeated the same thing by getting same date column with Presentation Variable as Enddate with some default date and in the fx i applied
CASE WHEN 1=1 THEN table.Date ELSE table.Date END
3) In the Dashboard prompt i got the same date column twice by applying same formulas in fx, default to - server variable - sysdate and setting Set variable - presentation variable - startdate and same thing with Enddate.
The report is working fine but the report is not pulling all the records. I mean to say i have data from 12:04:36 am but report is pulling from 12:37:53 am. So i am missing some records. I dont know where i am doing mistake.
Could someone please help me out
Thank You
Edited by: 792011 on Sep 14, 2011 11:00 AMBased on what you said you did, it shouldn't work. The CASE statement you have in steps 1) and 2) which you put in the fx window of two columns, are in effect the same thing as just having two instances of your table.Date column.
Follow the steps in this link and you should be good to go:

  • Crystal Report Date Prompt  Query from SAP BW

    Dear Support,
Using Crystal Report 2008 and Query is design In SAP BW
Date Prompt is made mandatory in Query at Query Designer.
Problem:  Requirent is that Date promt shoud take value currentdate-1
when report is excuted first date prompt will show in that prompt value should have today date - 1 which is yesterday date.
how to pass formula to date prompt?
    Thanks

If the prompt value should always be CurrentDate -1, then there is no need to use a prompt at all. Just put the formula to the selection criteria.
If you want the prompt to default to CurrentDate -1, while allowing the user to change the prompt to another date if they wish... That won't work. CR won't allow you to use a formula as the default value in a prompt.
If there is a BO Universe between you and the tables... IE, you're building against the universe, you'll need to get with the universe designer and have them make an alternate field available that has the formula hard coded in the SQL as opposed prompting.

  • Data Mismatch problem in Production system

    Dear Experts,
We have been encountering serious data mismatch problems with our source system since 29th Dec 2010.
We have realized this mismatch only on 11th Jan 2011. So, we have deleted entire data from 29th Dec 2010 onwards to 11th Jan 2011. Then we tried to load delta again as per our Process Chain sequence. Since then, our production system has become very inconsistent. We found that the entire data from 29th Dec 2010 to till date is started giving mismatch.
Our system got damaged in terms of data drastically. If I delete any bad requests from our Cubes & Data Store Objects, the next time when we try to load data, cube & Data Store Objects is showing the deleted request no. is not updated properly. Because of this, our Process chain is daily failing to complete and giving so many technical errors. We are totally confused to restore our data from 29th Dec 2010 to till date.
Can any one please help us to restore our data fully and Process Chain to run successfully...............?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Suman

    Hi Suman,
I understood that you are using 3.x version of BW
such kind of issues occurs if you distrub the delta sequence by deleting the requests without making them red.
you can resolve this two ways......
    1) Go to reconstruction tab of the DSO and CUBE, select all the req from 29th Dec 2010 thru 11th Jan 2011 and reconstruct them. once they appear in the request tab. make all the requests to red (set the QM status to RED) one by one and delete them from the CUBE and DSO.
This should set the delta status  back to 29th and you will be able to run a repeat delta from then in your next delta.
    2) Go to RSRQ and give the SID or the Request ID one by one that it is giving you ( request no. which is not updated properly)
Mke the QM status as RED for all of them.
Since you have already deleted them from the targets, just changing the QM status to RED will be sufficinet.
You have make the QM status to RED inorder to inform the system that the requset is incorrect one and has been deleted.
Once it is set to RED, system will not prompt any req and say "request no.# not updated properly".
i suggest you the second option.
Once you resume the delta load, it should run successfully.....and if you feel some data is still missing from 29th Dec 2010 thru 11th Jan 2011, just run a full repair load the get the data back.
If your Datasource is of LO extraction u may need to fill the setup tables to perform full repair.
Please let me know if the Datasource is of LO extraction. Also let me know once the issue is resolved.

    Sudheer.

  • Error in date prompt after migrating from 5.x to XI R2

    Hi,
We have migrated from 5.x to XiR2  SP5 and are facing a problem with the date input parameter.
Our users use DESKI , when they try to access thier reports  based on Stored Procedure, and the reports  having date prompt , they get an error.
In 5.x they used to enter the date as DD MON YYYY , in XIR2 they enter it as MM/DD/YYYY but still we get the error
"The variable is of type date enter its value in the format 9/17/2009 14:50:00 PM"
The users tried this too but still the same error persists. The Oracle.prm and Oracle.sbo file on teh users machine is the same as that of the server.
I am able to recreate this error after logging onto the server and opening DESKi there. This error is occuring only with Stored procedures that take date as input parameter
has anybody faced this issue before, any resolutions for this
    Thanks in advance
    Shreekantha

    Hi,
After analyzing this problem , what we found that no Stored Procedures that take user input are functioning, irrespective of teh datatype of the input prompt.
For all SPs that take user input we get an error saying
Connection or SQL sentence error: (DA0005)
    Exception: DBD, ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'PROCEDURE_TEST_WITHOUTDATE'

  • Date prompt using repository variables adds "DATETIME" literal to narrative

We are using repostiory variables to set initial date prompt filter values for our report. When we do that we get the "DATETIME" literal string show up on our report as in TIMESTAMP '2011-08-18 00:00:00&#39 (I am posting the exact literals from the report.
Is there any way to fix this so "TIMESTAMP" does not show?
by the way the following procedure was followed in trying to create this narrative.
    http://bischool.wordpress.com/2009/06/17/set-yesterday-or-some-date-value-as-default-in-obiee-dashboard-prompt/
We are doing this in OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1

Double click on the connection pool and got to General tab.
In the excute on the connect field add the following Script.
    ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'MM/DD/YYYY'.
Thant will solve the problem of time stamp.
I tried this in my recent project and it works. Let me know if you have any issues
    Thanks
If it is the only issue coming up in the narrative view then follow Ashish method.
If the date problem persists for prompts and everywhere in the answers follow my method

  • How to get date prompts from one date column

i have a requirement where i have to filter the data between two date prompts. i have only one date column and the date in the prompts shuld be selected by calendar.
i have seen may approaches to do this and i got one where two dummy date columns should be declared in repository and used to define the date prompts.
but using other methods i could not get the calendar option in prompt.
but is there any other way to get the prompts with calndar selection without defining the dummy columns in repository
    thanks

you can do that first select the date column you want to use in dashboard prompt then select another column and in the dashboard prompts then open the fx of the date prompt you first selected copy that and paste it in the second column and in the control section click on calender it will work you can use same date column as two prompts with out creating new column.

  • How to handle date prompt in report

Hi I have date column on database as timestamp.
Now need to apply filter in report based on date prompt.
Do i nee to cast it in Date format..or how i can do it.
    thanks,

    Hi User,
Which versionof obiee are you in? If you are on 10.1.3.4.1 version, apply PATCH 9492821 to fix this issue.
Can you do the following checks,
In the repository physical layer, set the column to have a data type of date
In the BMM layer, where the column is mapped, edit the column mapping to contain a CAST function to cast as date

  • A Date prompt defaulting the data in Report based on selection

    Gurus,
I have a requirement , where i have a (in between) date prompt set in the dashboard current defulting to Start Month date and End Month date of current month.
What the user want is based on the selection using a drop down in dashboard which has got values Last Day, Last week, Last Month , the default values in Date filter should change in dashboard.
For Eg. If the user select Last Week, the in between date filter show the default date value as Last Week Mon and Last Sun, and should filter out the report based on that.
    Any idea's are welcome....
    Thanks & Regards
    -Saurabh

Try to see if you can get user to agree on something easier.
Here are the steps to achieve what you want.
    1. Create a prompt for 1 day, 2 week, and 3 month
    2. Create three separate reports based on above selection, which has page prompt for day/week/month respectively.
    3. Create GN based on step in 1 and then let UI change between three reports you created in step 2
    I hope this helps,
    Best luck

  • Display date prompt in crystal report output

    Hi There,
In my report output the values entered in date prompt(range) is not displayed.
I've prompt  that is created on document created on field. The properties of prompt are
    Posting date...... date.........static values
    value field : ERDAT.....
    value options:
    optional prompt: false
    allow custom values: true
    allow multiple values : false
    allow discrete values: false
    allow range values: true

    Hi Raj,
I believe you're trying to display the start date and the end date of the date range parameter.
    Create a formula called 'start':
Minimum(?Postingdate) //This formula extracts the start date from the date parameter
Similarly, create another formula called 'end':
Maximum(?Postingdate) //This extracts the end date
Place these formulae on the desired report section.
P.S: You may even do this in a single formula.
    Hope this helps!

TimestampDiff and TimestampADD( Difference of two dates) in OBIEE
How to get a difference between two dates (in terms ) of days, weeks, months what every it may be
The below formula gives you no.of days between day date and current_Date
    Days difference:
    TIMESTAMPDIFF(SQL_TSI_DAY, Time."Day Date",CURRENT_DATE)
The below formula gives you no.of months day date and current_Date
    Months difference:
    TIMESTAMPDIFF(SQL_TSI_MONTH, Time."Day Date",CURRENT_DATE)
The below formula adds months to day date column
Toadd 12 months to a date column:
    TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_MONTH, 12,Time."Day Date")
similarly we can write the formulas using different intervals based on the date format in the column
    Here are the intervals :
    SQL_TSI_SECOND,
    SQL_TSI_MINUTE,
    SQL_TSI_HOUR,
    SQL_TSI_DAY,
    SQL_TSI_WEEK,
    SQL_TSI_MONTH,
    SQL_TSI_QUARTER,
    SQL_TSI_YEAR.

  • Date popup problem in APEX 3.1

    Hi
I have a date picker (DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI) and after upgrading to APEX 3.1 from APEX 3.0.1 the popup window height is too small.
The end user is having to resize the window to click on the OK button.
Is there a file I can edit to increase the height, couldnt find it in templates/themes.
    Regards
    Adam

    Hi Adam,
This is a bug in APEX 3.1. It was discussed here:
Apex 3.1 Upgrade Issue - dba_lock and date picker display
    and here:
Date Picker problem in Apex 3.1
I'll let Carl investigate and provide an official response and recommendation. Although I know where this problem is occurring.
The size of the popup calendar window is hard-wired in the file apex/images/javascript/apex_3_1.js. In APEX 3.0, the size of the popup window was determined programatically at runtime and was a function of the date format, if it included a time component or not.
The uncompressed, readable version of this same file is in apex/images/javascript/uncompressed/apex_3_1.js. Look for p_DatePicker and you'll see what I'm talking about. You'll see the height is hard-wired to 210 and width to 258. In APEX 3.0, the height was set to 255 if the date format contained a time component.
So my suggestion, until Carl provides an official response, is to look for '210' in apex/images/javascript/apex_3_1.js and change this to 255. Granted, all calendar popup windows will be this big, but it won't put as great a burden on the end-user.
    I hope this helps.
