Init backgrounding - what is it ?

I am just trying to get to grips with the init system of Arch (I am used to the sysv method).
I have seen the word "backgrounding" mentioned a few times, but cannot find a reference to what it actually does, so would be interested in a quick explanation.

Basically, with our init, daemons are specified in an array in rc.conf as such:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng cups alsa)
To background one, you stick an @ just before the name:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng @cups @alsa)
This will cause the daemon start script to run in the background (equivalent of running '/etc/rc.d/cups start &') and not wait to see if the daemon successfully started. Generally this is done with non-critical daemons, or daemons that aren't a dependency of another daemon, to speed up boot-time

Next all changes we made by running query will be recorded in the transaction log file so they called the write-ahead log. At final stage, a process known as CHECK POINT PROCESS will check and write all the transaction has been committed AND completed to your
hard drive by flushing the page.
So simply put here are the steps
Data modification sent by application
Data pages are located in or read into, cache and modified
Modification is recorded in transaction log on DISK
Checkpoint writes committed transactions to database

but the job been cancel when i call this method not in online .
what else ( may be function ) can do the work (locate file for Existence) ?

why i need it ?
i have to upload the file in the following way :
    SUBMIT (YITF_NAME-IFCPROGRAM) AND RETURN
           USING SELECTION-SET YITF_NAME-IFCVARIANT
        via selection-screen
           EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY.
this is lsmw program that do the upload but she expect to the file ,
3 years it was working fine , but now its start to do problem ,
by the messages , i can see that the lsmw is search for
the file and not find it .
there allote of reason why it happend but i want to check
first of all if the file is created , and than to decide what to do .

Fullscreen image as background: What image size should be the original file?

Hello adobe users,
I'm creating for my first time a website which uses a photograph as the main background. This will be fullscreen. Her eyou have some examples:

My question is quite basic: What is the perfect image size the photograph should be for a fullscreen-image-background?
Is there any tips the photographer should take in place?
Any special mode?
Which format should it be? Panoramic? Rectangular?
What quality and weight should it have?
I'm very concerned that the raw material (the original pictures) compromise the final product. I want to create the website so it can adapt any screen resolutions. Can anybody help around?!

Why the files are not allowed to grow beyond the 8GBThe MAXSIZE of the Datafile can be set to the value you want up to UNLIMITED ( which is limited physically according to the OS Platform, the db_block_size and the type of Tablespace - smallfile or bigfile ).
If you have a SMALLFILE TABLESPACE then the Datafile can have up to *4MBlocks*, so if the db_block_size is *2KB* you are limited to *8GB* even if you set MAXSIZE to UNLIMITED.
A SMALLFILE TABLESPACE can have up to 1022 Datafiles. So with a db_block_size of *2KB* the Tablespace can reach about *8TB* (with 1022 Datafiles of 8GB).
If you have a BIGSIZE TABLESPACE the Datafile can have up to *4GBlocks*, so if the db_block_size is *2KB* you are limited to *8TB*. But the Tablespace could have in this case only one Datafile and, you have to be sure that the OS Plateform can support such a large file.
Of course, if the db_block_size is larger, for instance *8KB* (which is an usual value), the limit for a Datafile belonging to a SMALLFILE TABLESPACE becomes *32GB*... And so on.

Iphone shows up with red background. what's wrong?

I have no idea what happened. One minute it was working fine and then all of the sudden it showed up with a red background. It is odd because everything really works normally(other then turning of randomly) but there is a red background. Any idea what's wrong?

First time I recall seeing a report like this here.
I suggest doing a Restore with iTunes. Be sure to sync your iPhone immediately before restoring to update your iPhone's backup if needed.
If no change after a Restore, I suggest calling AppleCare (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

In the Inspector pane's Page section under Layout there are the Browser Background and Page Background sections. In each you can opt to choose an image file for the background and either have it tiled or original size.

Sorry, but that is totally insane and contradictory because quite simply it's not technically possible. Either you live with the reduced quality and limitations of an animated GIF or you use a static background. And even then I would predict that your GIF fiel may be way to heavy for web site use. You really need to reconsider your strategy and read up on web design in general. this simply cannot work the way you want it to.

Add a background image to applet

Hi. Sorry if this question has been asked to death, but i have searched for the best part of the last 2 hours for a solution to my problem which is as follows:
I have been tying to place a background image on an applet for part of a project i have to do at uni. From what i have read this is very simple and i have tried all possiblities to get it working, all to no avail.
The code below is what i have for this:

User Interactive reports in background

Hi all,
There is report in CMS which prints collateral sheet, when i run the report in foreground(/ncms_cs) it ask for some input fields like Business partner id , smartform name and output device, after furnishing these details it give a pop saying BP belongs to Borrowing Entity and ask whether to continue or not and when you say yes it generates smart form else it quits.
Can any one tell me is it possible to run this report in background since its generating a pop-up while executing and if we run this in background we are unable to see the pop up and provide the input(Yes/No) and i am getting an error mesg as provide input parameters. So is there any way to run this kind of report in background

You cannot have an interactive report in the background
what you need to do is to remove any popups or messages to allow the program to run in bg properly
you can pass the required parameters to your program whilst calling it before it starts execution

Background image and buttons

I got 4 different images. I want to use these images as a background.
They have to change as soon as the buttons is clicked. I got four buttons.
Name of the pichtures image1.jpg etc
the buttons btn1 etc
I think its possible but i dont know how to work with backgrounds

You see that the button is the bar and slides, that is all working and tested real good. Now that is the bar is clicked and that will move the bar but it will have to change the background

Reading file from the presentation server in the background

Hi,
I am trying to read a .csv file from the presentation server into an internal table in the background. what should I do for it? In the foreground it works fine.
I have declared a selection parameter 'p_file' that has the path of the file. It wokrs fine in the foreground and how to set it up in the background?
Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks in advance,

did you achieved the required functionality , i,e, accessing presentation server file i nbackground .
I too got the same requirement, can you explain the process.
There is no way you can do it... The best method is to put the file on Appln server and then call it in the background mode.

Create an se38 report which calls this function module. Pass all the parameters. You may also give some select options too. Then schedule the report in background, which can satisfy ur requirement.

Is it posible to use init parameters with FacesServlet?
With any other servlet I'd do this:

Rather use the context-param.
