Initial Thoughts After Installation

I am just trying to guage what most users who administer previous OSX Server think of this new server OS. I'm a bit lost and it's missing a bunch of features, I prepped my Macpro over to a SSD raid for the new Mtn Lion Server and kinda was hoping I would see the same configuable options but at this point coming out of the gate, I'm a bit disappointed.
Wondering what most are thinking, I proably need to poke around and learn more before judging it.

I never managed to have lion server working properly outside file sharing. I found OS X server easier in particular for the certificate.

i tried to find a solution, but didn't found one....after installation i had to find sapmmc. There was a error message after installation; after some adjustments in the service-file of windows now the message-server runs; but the disp+work still not....find the log attached:

Error while running Enterprise Manager 11gR1 after installation

Dear All,
I have just installed Oracle 11gR1 on centOS 5 operating system. During installation I checked the option to create sample schema. During installation the installer displayed some error message regarding Enterprise Manager and told that you can run the script manually after installation is complete with the script location i.e /<oracle_home>/bin/emca
After installtion i have run the script BUT now when i try to start dbconsole it fails.
When i run emctl status agent it says agent is not running.

Updated itunes, error message about mobile popped up during installation, then after installation, tunes will not start. gives error that a dll file is missing.

I downloaded the new Itunes version. During installation, there was an error message that said no Mobile access. After installation, Itunes would not open. Gave an error message that a DLL file was not found. Removed itunes from computer and initiated new download. Same problem with new download. Still does not open. I'm stumped. I have over 30,000 files in itunes and use it every day HELP

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Unable to view pdf created in Live Cycle Designer ES2. I initially thought this was a user / OS issue when I created a document for someone who is new to a MAC laptop. She could not view the document through email. Unfortunately, I began seeing the same error in my own document folders when searching for another document showing as icons instead of a list. I can open the file without a problem although I see the error she sees only while viewing the icons in my folder. I am using a Windows 7 PC. Now, I also know that if the document is downloaded, it can be viewed.
Other notes:
If trying to access the form via the internet, the same error is seen through Chrome, Firefox, and Mozilla but NOT through IE
Everyone seems to have the latest or a very recent READER
The form is compatible with Reader versions 7 and up
Again, downloading from the internet to the computer appears to allow the file to open properly
Document cannot be viewed on the Galaxy Tab 2 via Chrome or the pre-installed Internet Browser, nor can it be viewed through the Reader after download to tablet. I did not try on an Apple iPad.
All parties involved are up-to-date with virus protection.

You're on to something KJ! Yes the form was created in LiveCycle Designer ES2 which came bundled with my Adobe X Pro. I began creating a new form yesterday and found that I could not preview the form, rendering this same "error" instead. I ran a repair on my Adobe and at first it seemed to fix the issue but after making some changes to the form I tried to preview again and couldn't. Here is what I get when I try to preview my forms in Designer ES2:
When I click the OK button, it then gives me that single static page as mentioned above in previous posts.
I searched Adobe yesterday trying to figure out how I could repair the LiveCycle Designer or if there was some sort of patch that I haven't gotten but was not able to find anything.

Sorry, this is a user to user forum and we're just customers who help out when we can, so things don't always happen right away.
Reader, Regardless of OS or device, is as the name implies, only a Reader. There are different mail settings between Mac Mail Outlook and Thunderbird as well as Andsroid's mail app, whose name escpoaes me.
Have you checked in the Live Cycle Forum? There are people there with FAR more experience using LC developed forms. It's part of my Creative Suite, but I've never even opened it myself.

CAN'T ABLE TO STARTUP AFTER INSTALLATION

Dear Legends,
I have a new THINKPAD EDGE430 COREi5 64bit WITH 8GB RAM AND 500GB HDD, am trying to install ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX 5.7 in this machine and then I have to install a VISION INSTANCE 12.1.1.
ISSUE
====
1. After installation it asks for an restart and it has been restarted and i can see the starting flash screen and the naming "ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX SERVER 5.7" is being started, but after that i couldn't see any login screen or anything else.
2. So i have given a long press of my POWER BUTTON and made a restart for 3 - 5 times but the symptoms are same and each time i get a different colored screen such as green, white, blue and pink after the boot startup screen goes.
3. I couldn't proceed further to login.
4. At the same time I could see 2 options in the GRUB MENU loader at start such as (a) ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX.... and (b) ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX BASE...
5. Memory for crash kernel(0x0) (0x0) not within permissible range -- What does it means?
6. I have tried using both of the menu options but the result it same - no login screen or cant able to proceed further
NOTE: I have installed the same OS in another P4 and CORE2DUO MACHINES it works fine.
QUESTIONS
=======
1. Whether this configuration would be supporting OEL, RHEL 5?
2. Anyother OS will be working for this configuration?
3. Any drivers to be downloaded for this? since it is a FRESH one.
Any kind of help would be appreciated greatly

Thanks a lot for your reply, I thought the OS might be the problem but i think some VIDEO DRIVER or some thing should be enable into the BIOS. So i have re-installed RHEL 5 X86_64 but it also shows the same. as a try i have done pressing 'e' and it shows 3 parameters like
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-128.el5 ro root=LABEL=/1 rhgb quiet --> i have selected this one and pressed again 'e' and added "nomodeset" at the last

but i dont know what it is happening to start? because even in my P4 which has 2GB RAM it will load faster but as soon as it starts the kernel to read some 2 lines and "MY SCREEN GOES SOMEWHAT CRASH" and the same colors are appearing either blue, white, pink and violet.
I have tried CHANGING
1. DISPLAY MODE from LCD TO VGA -- VICE VERSA
2. CHANGED AHCI TO COMPATIBILITY -- VICE VERSA

How do I get from 10.6, which I had to purchase on a disc due to the fricking new IOS on my phone, to 10.6.8.
I downloaded what I thought was 10.6.8 update, and it said "you need to have 10.6.7". This is infuriating.

Do I need the installation medium after installation?

Hello all,
I just installed oes11 along with sles11 and, after fully patching the server, removed the installation dvd from the server. Now, everytime I open "OES Installation and Configuration" it prompts me to insert that dvd again... I thought after installing and using online repositories I wouldn't need it anymore, and it would not be nice to have a dvd mounted all the time.
I tried disabling the cd-repo, and then all of the OES products vanished from YAST...
I've searched the documentation but couldn't find any hints on what to do with the dvd after installation. What am I missing?

If so, you shouldn't need access to the installation media ... unless
you're hitting the issue described in TID 7011540 which I believe was
fixed with the April 2013 Scheduled Maintenance patch for OES11 SP1.
I just read that TID and the situation is not what I'm experiencing and I applied that patch right after installing the server. I will start downloading the separate isos now and post my results.

Using serial from product box, but serial number invalid after installation?

Ok, so. I have a copy of Photoshop 5, a physical copy, in the original box. I tried to install it on my computer, and actually did so successfully--it recognized the serial number from the box as correct and did a full install. However, when I actually opened Photoshop for the first time, a message came up saying that the serial number was invalid, and my options were to enter a new one or wait until next time, when I'd have to enter a new one for Photoshop to run.
I haven't closed it yet because I need it for work and don't want to risk it not running. Why would my definitely valid serial number not work? I double and triple checked what I typed in, and it initially accepted it, only rejecting it after installation.
I'm on Windows 7.

Did you purchase this copy of Ps 5 (Assume CS5, but please correct me, if it is the very old Ps version 5) from Adobe, or a 3rd party?
If from Adobe, log into Adobe.com with your Adobe ID and go to My Products. Verify the S/N there.
If from a 3rd party, it could well be that the S/N provided has been "used up."

Solaris 11 - after installation there is no remote desktop avaliable

Hi All,
I have the problem that after installation of Solaris Express on SPARC machine there is no available remote desktop. I am using Xmanager to connect to my server.
It works fine with Solaris 9 and 10.
Do you know what is the problem?

I was installing Solaris Exrepss using JumpStart server running on Solaris 10. Solaris Express installed successfuly.
But there was no XServer running.
So I was enabling some services.

Receiving error after installation when attempting to open Cricut Craft room. It says 'Application Descriptor cannot be found for this application." I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling/installing older version. Any ideas?

'CRT not initialized' error after installing MS Office 2010

I encountered 'CRT not initialized error' after installing MS Office 2010. I think that with previous version of CVI there were no problems. But, with Labwindows/CVI 2012 error has outbroken. The details are as follows.
- OS : windows 7 Enterprise (32bit)
- Labwindows/CVI (v12.0.0 (422))
- MS Office 2010 (word, powerpoint, excel)
#1. clean install windows 7 (32 bit)
#2. install Labwindows/CVI v12.0.0 and device drivers (DAQ, Motion)
#3. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
#4. online update windows 7 (service pack, explorer 9, and etc)
#5. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
#6. install MS Office 2010
#7. compile and run attached test program : 'CRT error'
#8. uninstall MS Office 2010
#9. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
I think there are some conflicts between office 2010 and labwindows v12.0.0. How can I solve this problem?

More specifically, I decided that some parts of MS Office files and features of NI's motion library conflicts. Because in the attacted sample program, if I exclude NI-Motion functions then the program excutes nicely. But if I include NI-Motion fucntion, for example flex_select_signal, then the 'CRT not initialized' error occurs.
To solve this problem I tried step by step installation check for MS Office 2010. During each step I included more optional features in MS Office and after each installation I compiled and executed my sample program. At finally, I found that the addtional part of MS Office 2010, if I install Office Sharing Function>Microsoft IME(Korean), then the 'CRT not initialized' error occurs.
Temporarly, I solved the problem with NOT installing 'Office Sharing Function>Microsoft IME(Korean)' optional feature in the MS Office 2010.
Could you tell me why this problem occur?

COM+ Event System failed to fire the StartShell and Logon method after installation of PM 1.43

Hi Guys,
After installation of Power Manager 1.43, the following errors were immediate shown at event viewer: COM+ Event System failed to fire the StartShell and Logon method on subscription {F6FE5592-FCBC-44AD-A836-D37F5085ED5B}-{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}-{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}. The subscriber returned HRESULT 80004001.
Please advice if this is a known issue? Thanks!
