Initializing Multiple 6555 Cards as a Single DI (C/C#)

Hello,
I am working on adapting an existing Test Executive Shell (writen in C#) onto an NI PXIe system. The current system I have uses 4 NI6555 cards, and will need to test boards with more than 24 pins. The original shell initializes all DI cards as a single DI with channels 0-96, instead of channels 0-24 on card 1, channels 0-24 on card 2, etc. For example, a test engineer could write a series of tests referencing pin #76 and the drivers would know that refers to channel #13 on the card in slot 8.
Is there a way to initialize multiple cards at once to accomplish this, or some other simple solution? I am developing this in C# using the C to C# wrapper.
Please let me know if I need to give any other info. Thanks!
Jason

Hey Sapan ... thanks for your reply ... we want to replace the values on input and we have combinations like:
A ... maps to 1
B,D ... maps to 2,4
A,C ... maps to 1,3
A,B,C,D ... maps to 1,2,3,4
D,B,C,A ... maps to 4,2,3,1
C,A,D ... maps to 3,1,4
etc
It looks to us like the only way to do it is to export all the content and then build the import value map for each variation manually. As there are 32 variations this is do-able, but not ideal. We had hoped that the import map process would see each individual value in the field as a unique item and therefore import with a very basic mapping.
Have you done anything like this before or do you think the manual approach we're taking is the best option here??
Cheers

  • Can I use multiple credit cards with family sharing

My kids are adults.  Can I use multiple credit cards in family sharing so they can pay for their own purchases?

    Hello Cwb1234,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
From what I understand, you want to set it up that your kids use their own credit cards for purchases within Family Sharing. Take a look at the article linked below, it outlines purchases and payments for Family Sharing and may offer a solution to the issue that you’re running into.
Family purchases and payments - Apple Support
    Making purchases
After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer's card. As the family organizer, any receipts generated by the transaction will be sent to you. Learn more about how iTunes Store purchases are billed.
Once paid for, a purchased item is added to the account of the family member who initiated the purchase. In other words, the content belongs to them, much as it would if you were buying them a book or a DVD. If Family Sharing is ever disabled, each member will keep the purchases they initiated, even though they were paid for by the family organizer.
These are the only current options for payment within Family Sharing.

    Jeff D.

  • Splitting multiple IDoc XML files into single IDoc messages for R/3

Hi all. I have a problem splitting IDoc XML files coming in to XI. I currently have an interface that takes in single store sale IDoc transactions (type WPUBON01) in an IDoc XML file. I then have some complex graphical mapping on the IDoc before sending to R/3 via the IDoc adapter. This works fine. However, we now wish to include multiple sales in one file i.e. many WPUBON01 IDocs. I could use message splitting to do this BUT the mapping is so complex, I do not wish to have to change it to enable the processing of many IDocs in one file instead of just one.
What I want to do: have one mapping splitting a multiple IDoc XML file into single IDoc messages and then another taking these single messages as before and performing the mapping. I cannot find a way to do this in one interface; the main problem I'm having is getting XI to split the multiple IDocs into many single IDoc messages within XI itself. I'd be very grateful for any advice on the best way to do this.
    Thankyou.

    Bhavesh,
Thanks again for a clear explanation... I'm moving forwards but still struggling. I've been on this all afternoon today (after a break on other things) and just cannot get my message to split properly (though the SOAP adapter problem I had earlier is now fixed!). If my initial IDoc XML file contains this format:
    <WPUBON01><IDOC>....</IDOC>
                          <IDOC>....</IDOC>
                          <IDOC>....</IDOC></WPUBON01>
.. I'm not sure what the cardinaility on the first message mapping and interface mapping should be. I'd have thought the source interface would be 1 and the target would be 0..unbounded but this isn't working. I'm trying different things but I get different errors each time. Currently, I have the above cardinality in my first interface and I'm passing in the following data:

  • Configuring multiple web sites in a single OC4J instance with 10g OEM

    Hi There,
there doesn't seem to be a way of configuring multiple web sites within a single OC4J instance using the 10g Enterprise Manager Website, so can i assume that there's some performance related issues with doing this, or is it just a case of if you want multiple web sites, configure it manually?
We currently use 9iAS release 1 (which has been configured to use multiple web sites - with normally 1 j2ee app in each website - in a single OC4J clustered instance, using mod_proxy to forward the http requests onto oc4j), but we are looking to migrate to 10g very soon...
The initial configuration was done by an external company, so i'm not entirely sure of the reasons why it was chosen (perhaps so that if there was a problem with a single website, it wouldn't impact all our applications)..
Does anybody else currently use multiple *-web-site.xml's in a 9iAS release 2 or 10g in a production environment, and if so did you encounter any problems with the OEM website (assuming you configured them manually)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Andy

    Hello,
    Something like this:
    New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName "FBA"
Enable the Basic authentication via running the following command:
    Set-OWAVirtualDirectory -Identity "yourservername\owa (FBA)" -BasicAuthentication $true
Restart the IIS admin service in services.msc
    Thanks,

  • Streaming multiple streams from multiple capture cards at the same time

    Hi All,
I have 2 the same capture card. And I am trying to stream to 2 diffrent rtmp server. I start first one and no problem. But when I run second FME instance and select second stream card, first one turns to black and second one shows up. When I close second, first one again comes back.
What shoul I do for streaming multiple streams form multiple stream cards?
    Best regards.

They are, yes, but I'm also working with multitrack sessions using clips made from various different sound files.
    Ahh ok, use markers?
So, this sort of thing isn't possible in multitrack mode then?
If not, it sounds I'll have to "mix down" my multitrack session into a single file and set up the markers in Waveform Edit view.
That's an extra step I'd have to do, and after editing the multitrack session, surely some markers . . . oh wait, no . . . every time I output the new mix down file from the multitrack I'd need to redo all the markers. Drat . . .
Honestly, I am very new to Audition, but I'm about to plow into it, big-time, and I'm hoping for a nice non-destructive and fast workflow that'll enable me to output sets of sounds from the same multitrack session.
But, it seems like this functionality is currently missing.

  • Multiple target datalines to multiple sound cards

Is there any way to accomplish the following:
I have 4 distinct sound cards. I am using 4 distinct target datalines (1 dataline per 1 microphone input), each in a separate thread, to sample sound.
Let me start with this question, is this scenario even possible with the current implementation of Java Sound?
If the microphones are in a linear array, spaced evenly apart, I would expect to see the the sound at the last microphone arrive after the sound of the first microphone. However, this does not always occur. This leads me to believe that one or more of the threads reading the target datalines is being starved.
I've checked for buffer overflows as follows:
              int internalBufferSize = tdl.getBufferSize();
                        if (internalBufferSize == tdl.available()) {
                         System.err.println("Buffer overflow detected!");
}I'm not getting any buffer overflow errors.
As an experiment, I've attempted to attach multiple target datalines to a single sound device. While that will work fine (i.e., Java doesn't complain), I notice that when I read the data from the target datalines, I'm only getting the data from one or the other lines, but NOT both at the same time. Even though this isn't the same scenario I proposed, is there something in the Java Sound implementation that will prevent one target dataline per sound device in a JVM?
I'm fairly new to Java Sound, and I'm at a complete loss. I've gotten the same solution to work in other languages, however, I need Java for this particular application.

If you give your default sound card index 0 and your USB camera a higher index, it might work.
Thanks a lot. This indeed solved the problem.

  • Managing multiple Postfix instances on a single host

We have quite a few sites on our Xserve. Each site should be able to relay email out the respective unique IP on a single host; however, by default email goes out the default website of the server or which IP is the current gateway.
NOTE: this is not a Postfix Virtual Domain Hosting > mail forwarding domains issue. Mail routes just fine to the correct email boxes. This is and issue where email going out to other mail servers originates from the box and not the respective domains and IP space.
The solution for this is Multiple PostFix Instances. One for each website (each website has a respective IP due to SSL and DNS is correct along with MX records).
For the outbound mail relay for our corporate network it seems there are no fields to enable a new postfix instance for each hosted or virtually hosted domain. Nor is there a way to enable SMTP to relay outgoing mail through another host unless you use a generic setting for every website on the server.
So for a enterprise level business how do we Managing multiple Postfix instances on a single host?

Fully on the same page with you. 110%
Here is why I am under the impression of why each domain name needs to be as if it needs its own MTA (mail transfer agent). No matter how big or small the business.
Just like a domain using SSL in Apache needs a dedicated IP when doing the packets . . .
Yahoo the big dog (for small to medium online businesses 70% of their customers make purchases with Yahoo emails; which most of them are temp emails or known as aliases.) states:
    From: help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/basics/postmaster-02.html
Many mail providers follow the same guidelines:
    {quote}Segregate your lists to different IP addresses. If you maintain several lists (or clients, especially for an ASP), you may want to segregate your lists to ensure that users are marking each list on its own merits. If user sees both spam and legitimate mail from the same IP, their notifications to us will be hazy and will likely result in the spam overiding the legitimate mail.{quote}
So why not segregate websites to email out their own dedicated IPs?
Understandably sites that share IP space can go out the default MTA or better yet the MTA of that IP.
This way host providers can segment groups of clients and further prevent issues with out going email.
When email goes out a single MTA there are checks and rate limitations not just on the hops involved but from the "originating" IP address. So if site "A" has one IP and site "B" has another . . . well they both send email out the same default gateway. Take 100's of domains going out the same IP and customers (websites) start having issues getting customer communications delivered.
    {quote}Maintain accurate reverse-DNS information for your mail servers. Yahoo! Mail makes extensive DNS checks for each connection, and an accurate reverse DNS will ensure prompt processing of your connection and email.{quote}
One mistake by one client out of 1,000 sites (or now Apple letting tens of thousands of sites able to be hosted) can get all 1,000 websites deferred and have what is called "reputation" issues.
In the past, as companies grow, sure they get more boxes or can cluster mail servers. With economic times beyond using Parallels . . . a single Mac Xserve can handle tens of thousands of websites doing a few thousand emails a day or more. It is more of a software/setting/configuration issue than just capability.
I remember Intel board meetings in the 90's where I (as a customer) stated put two nic cards on the mother board, standardize those rails, put twisted pair on those hard drive cables. Some things just take practical experience to see yes there is a real need and the business people are not getting it because they are focussing on the business or chasing their tail.
Also Note the IP address has to be STATIC:

    {quote}Segregate your mail streams by IP addresses, domains and/or DKIM selectors since Yahoo! Mail keeps reputation data about each IP address and domain you send from. Mail to determine and assign each mail stream's reputation. {quote}

{quote}To facilitate the smooth flow of messages between legitimate senders and Yahoo! Mail, we offer the following recommendations:
Limit the messages you send per connection
Yahoo! Mail accepts a maximum of 5 messages per SMTP connection. We encourage you to cap the number of messages you send to Yahoo! Mail to fall within this per-connection limit.
When this limit is reached, no further messages will be accepted for delivery as our server automatically terminates the connection (without giving an error code). If you are sending messages to a significant number of Yahoo! Mail users, the suggestions below will help ensure uninterrupted delivery for your messages.
Reestablish connections if you do not get an error code
When our server terminates your connection after 5 messages have been accepted, you may try to reconnect to our MX servers immediately thereafter.
    Open concurrent connections
    You may open concurrent connections from the same server to facilitate efficient transmission of your messages. However, while we do not publish specific guidelines for the numbers of connections you can concurrently use, we ask that you treat our resources with respect. The more you take, the fewer there are for others, which may force us to deprioritize connections from your server(s).{quote}
In the Server Admin under General one can enable IMAP with a maximum number of connections. However, for normal SMTP there is no connections cap. Unless I am wrong here.
Domain throttling by domain is another way, but the real solution is just dedicated IPs for each website or each website to have a separate MTA. In the past this has meant a dedicated server or a physical gateway.
Technically there should be a Virtual solution. If I can virtually host many sites and many incoming emails on dedicated IP space respective to each domain. There should be virtual MTAs on dedicated or the same respective IP space as the incoming; hence, why I gave the example of how SSL works in Apache with web servers.
Totally get what you are saying on how currently mail works just out the default gateway since there is only one "default" MTA for the "xserve".
Everything is good coming in, but did something somewhere miss the mark on the outgoing? Should be one for one.
Yahoo is the big player putting the foot down or the glass half full people would say setting the mark on how outgoing mail should work when they are accepting emails.
I am not trying to innovate, but rather just follow the rules.
Sure mail out one MTA works no matter how many website you put on the box and it is "good enough for government work" or "looks good from my house".
There are many people struggling with corporate communications (even the concept of corporate communications and marketing) and I think Apple could step up to the plate and help follow the standard of best practices.
I have done research for 10 years and over the past two tested what I know to be true. Then spoke with many businesses that did not understand but had the same issue. . .
Yahoo customers not getting their email communications and email simply not being as good as the old fashion phone call.
So back to your question (fabulous question since every tech asks me the same thing):
    {quote}So my question to you is this: why can't you run all your domains on a single server/IP address?{quote}
Because it is no longer 1996 and I want Apple stock to triple!
. . . and that it no longer works for sites conducting a profitable business. We are really underachieving what America could do!
Yahoo! is clearly saying to each business to do business communications or even marketing on separate IPs. Gmail, Hotmail, and the list goes on and on. They all follow the same thing. Yahoo! just happens to be more aggressive and has more good consumers (buyers) using their free email service. Gmail started aliases and could gain market share of buyers.
I need to get Xserve to have one dedicated IP in and out for each independent website whether it is an Apache transaction on port 80 (443 SSL) or an email going out the postfix MTA on port 25 SMTP or any other standard alternative port (587 or 465 SSL) for that matter.
So far everything works as expected, but the SMTP MTA out. One big default gateway per hardware.
We missed the 1% mark. That club that gets it! I would like to see every business owner that buys an Xserve to be in that one percent club out of the box!
Why Rob? Well because it works! Dedicated IPs work. Think about this, if you gave the postman your address and did not include your suite number more than likely your lucky if you get your mail. WORKS the same way for email.
If your business grows you can get a few more until something once again gets abused and they start tracking MAC addresses. By then will have virtual MAC addresses like most routers can already do.
To prevent SPAM you just set the MTA defaults to one IP per website. Let's keep it simple. This way you keep a clean reputation and one reputation per website or business. Most businesses just need one IP and cannot afford a whole server for each website/business. THINK GREEN!!! The email filtering systems (RBLs and filtering rules) already out there will weed abusers out. Let's not hurt the small to medium businesses in the process.
Your not going to get RDNS and dedicated IP space anyhow unless your a real business.

  • Multiple Video Cards

    Hey guys,
New to Mac and looking to make the big switch. Looking at the Mac Pro I'm stumped on the multiple video card option. It looks as though most people use multiple cards for dual or more monitors.
My question is this. If I'm running only a large monitor dual or triple video cards would still be beneficial correct? I want to switch to dual monitors in the near future and I work with huge photo files and CAD type drawings that suck up a lot of memory and resources.
Would I bet better off just getting one kick a$$ card and spending the extra money on RAM? Not sure what the best route is.
    Thanks guys,
    Mike

A single monitor, regardless of how big it is, can only be plugged into a single video card. Adding a second card without plugging a monitor into it will only use up energy.

  • Multiple Video Cards and FCP

I'm looking at getting a mac pro, and I'm wondering if there is any point to getting multiple video cards (2x NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB).
I've been editing in FCP on a G5 for years now, and only had one video card.
Does the current version of FCP7 utilize them? Or does any of the other Studio software utilize them?
And if FCP7 does take advantage of multiple cards, where am I going to notice the difference if I add multiple cards... rendering? exporting? playback?
    Any advice would be great!

We see this topic in various forms about weekly.
FCP does not use multiple cards. In fact, FCP really doesn't take advantage of a single card's GPU. But Motion does, which means if you have .motn files in your FCP project, you may see some kind of boost.
I don't know anything about the 120 but, personally, I will never buy another nvidia card. The minimum for Motion would be the Radeon 4870.
FCPv5 and v6 had issues with some FxPlug filters supplied with Motion if you had multiple monitors plugged into multiple cards but not of you had multiple monitors plugged into a single card. This got fixed in FCP7.

  • Mac pro - multiple graphics cards - multiple monitors - gaming?

    Hi there
Early 2008 I purchased a mac pro, with 2 8800gts and 1 2600xt. Works amazingly well, as it was originally purchased for number crunching (video cards were purchased to take advantage of openCL in snow leopard) and more screen realestate. (3 monitors)
But the thought occurred to me... I am also a bit of a gamer...
Are there any games that take advantage of multiple video cards???
Mac or windows game recommendations are welcomed!
    Thanks!

I'm sorry if my question was a little ambiguous, let me try to rephrase.
If anyone is familiar with the Nintendo DS system, you will understand that this handheld device has 2 screens.. one is used primarily as a game screen, the second screen has the game map or console or some kind of readout or whatever. Bottom line is, the game takes advantage of 2 screens.
My question to the masses is:
Are there any games in Mac OS or Windows that take advantage of multiple monitors, and therefore multiple video cards. Not SLI or Crossfire as I understand the Mac Pro hardware does not support it. My question relates to any software titles like Flight Simulators, that can render images on 2 screens connected to 2 separate video cards.
I have a copy of XPlane, and unfortunately, it only supports multiple monitors on a single video card, not multiple monitors on multiple video cards.
    So, just rehashing,
Are there any games that are capable of rendering images or gameplay on 2 different video cards at the same time?
    If so, what are they?
Cheers and sorry for the confusion.

    Hello,
As per my knowledge for creating new spool id you will have to set
    output_options-tdnewid = 'X'.
    and then using
    job_output_info-spoolids
    create a pdf using
    call function 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'

  • How can I combine multiple icloud calendars into a single published calendar?

I have several calendars in Ical where I map my activities and schedules. Like many I need several calendars to categorise events.
Now, I'd like others to see when I'm free and when I'm unavailable. For this, I'd need to find a way to copy multiple Icloud calendars into a single one for publishing - and the published calendar would also have to sync to any update I make in the original calendar.
Any way to make this happen? Any third party app? Tried a couple - they were outdated and / or cumbersome.
If only there was a "smart calendar" tool in Ical …

It worked - up to the crucial point: after combining icloud calendars into one "on the machine" calendar, the latter is ready for going public. But of course - this public calendar will only contain the .ics files and will not sync for updates from the icloud calendars.
    And that's what I want.
If this problem is not possible to solve with the software available in the Mac - is there any known third party solution for this?
    (Apple: "smart calendars" please!)
