Input tax credit on import

Dear all,
Why purchase of imported goods also allowed input tax credit?
If purchase locally can reclaim why purchase of imported goods also can reclaim?
Thanks

    My Sap freinds,
    Here i bring another issues,
My client have one g/l account 216400 description GST input tax credit , this balance sheet item.
when client assigned to deafult cost center on 216400 they got error message
"Account 216400 can only be posted to internally in company code X"
how can i solve this error, there is any changes i have to make in GL master Tax colum. please give me ur experiance advice.
    Regards

Tax category determines whether the GL is tax-relavant or tax account or tax relevant GL acct
You can specify if this is only for input tax (<) or output tax (>) or specify any tax code which can be used to post to this account. When posting to this account, the system then checks whether the tax code in the line item is permitted for this account.
'Posting without tax allowed': Indicates that the account can still be posted to even if a tax code has not been entered. should be possible to post both taxable and non-taxable items to an account.

  • Input tax credit service tax

    Hi Gurus
As everyone knows service tax credit can be taken only when it is paid to vendor. How this problem is solved in SAP. I mean when i make payment to vendor the entry for service tax entry should be passed.
Useful answer will be assign with points.

    NNS

    hi,
We had similar problem in our company.  We have developed a zreport which gives the information of vendor invoices that are paidt.  Based on the report, we are manually transferring the amounts from input service tax clearing account to Service tax credit account.

  • Reversal of Input VAT credit taken in case of EOU sales within State

    Dear All,
Whenever my client sells material to EOU within state, they have to reverse the corresponding input tax credit taken on the Raw material purchase from the supplier from the same state. if they supply the same from imported materials or from interstate purchase, this provision is not applicable.
    I have few doubts..
    1. How can I establish a link between Raw Materials for input tax credit and FGs to be sold to EOU. I have no separate material codes for FGs on basis on different kind of sales.
    2. How the accounting entries should pass in SAP system and what tax conditions or change in SD pricing procedure should I maintain?
    Thanking all in advance.

Though couple of suggestions are there to delete manually, for me, it is not adviceable.  This is due to the fact that when the original billing was generated, the corresponding VAT would have been debited to customer account.
Now when the return order is created and let us assume you delete manually those VAT condition types and subsequently generate a credit note on customer.
In this circumstances, from FI point of view, this is wrong because, for the debit entry, you have to pass a credit entry also; only then the loop will close.  When original billing was generated, the corresponding tax value would have been debited to customer account and if you do not adjust this entry, then this amount will show as a debit entry in customer account.
So from FI side, suitable exit should be applied in such a way not to take credit of such returns.
    thanks

  • Self billing invoice with input tax code

    Hello experts,
we are currently trying to implement a billing procedure with credit memos within the module SD. In this set-up the recipient of a service (company using the SAP) creates a credit memo for the renderer of a service (a debitor in SAP) showing the amount the recipient of the service/product has to pay. The credit memo will also show VAT (we currently only try to implement a process for transaction within Germany, no cross-border transactions yet). For the recipient of the service (= issuer of the credit memo) the credit memo is similar to an incoming invoice (self billing invoice). Hence, the shown VAT on this credit memo - if all other requirements are met - can be treated as deductible input tax.
In order to automatically process the credit memo correctly as incoming invoice it has to be linked to a tax code (Steuerkennzeichen) with tax type "V" (=input tax) (Vorsteuerkennzeichen). To achieve that we have created a new condition record (Konditionssatz) that performs that task.
So currently we create a credit memo request (Gutschriftsanforderung) which is linked to an input tax code (Vorsteuerkennzeichen) via mentioned condition record. We then create the billing document. During creating the billing document an accounting document should also be created. But that is where our approach does not work properly. The system creates a billing document (credit memo) but does not create the corresponding accounting document. We receive the error message:
Document .... saved (no accounting document generated)
    Message no. VF050
When trying to release the document to FI via Transaction VF02 we receive the following, more detailed error message:
Only output tax is allowed for account 480000 1000, VZ is not allowed
    Message no. FS215
This problem has to be somehow linked to the usage of an input tax code. If we perform the same procedure with an output tax code (Ausgangsteuerkennzeichen) we will not receive the error message and an accounting document is created.
It seems that the account determination is responsible for the described problem: Although an input tax code is assigned, the account key (as shown in the overview to the applied conditions on the items within the credit memo request (Item - Condition - Detail)) does not change from "MWS" to "VST" and therefore an output tax account (Account Number 480000) is determined for the tax amount. And for that output tax account the usage of an input tax code is not allowed.
Has anyone an idea how to solve the described problem or how to implement the billing procedure another way?
We are aware that there is such a functionality within the module MM called "Evaluated Receipt Settlement (ERS)" but this is not suitable for our purposes since we want to implement this within SD and without the need to create an order first which seems to be necessary for ERS.
    Thanks for your help,
    Bernd

  • FBL3N -- GL Account (GST Input Tax)

    Dear All,
When i check the Gl Account for GST Input Tax
There are many line items with Type WE(MIGO Document) and also Type RE(MIRO Document)
Can somebody explain to me if the config was done correctly:
All my WE line items are negative and all the RE line items are positive. So they totally knock each other off.
    For example:
    (MIGO)
Debit GL Code example u2013 Tools and consumables
                                                    Credit                           Goods Receipts Clearing Accounts
                                                    Credit                           GST Input
    (MIRO)
    Debit                Goods Receipts Clearing Accounts
    Debit                GST Input
                                                    Credit                           Vendor
    Is this correct?
If it is, how will my client know how much they need to pay IRAS.

    Hi
This is not correct as the Tax amount should be at the time of IR only as debit to GST Input, so that you can declare to the govt.
At the time of GR only non deductible taxes should be posted that too only on the material account.
Please check your Procedures & check where you have gone wrong,
hope you have not maintained the Condition type as a delivery cost.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Service Tax Credit : India

    Experts,
    Need your help
when a run program RFUMSV50....the system displays can see all those Service Tax Invoice which are paid and whose Service Tax Credit can be availed, but i do not find any Transfer postings from Interim to Main Service Tax GL Accounts, ie from Interim Tax Code's GL to Target Code's GL.
A Batch Input is generated but with ZERO Transactions, where-as the system displays (as mentioned earlier) several invoices applicable for Service Tax Credit.

    Hi SV Raj,
First please check your Interim Tax Code percentage maintenance in FV11/12.
Create a Tax Code similar in FV11 and with same percentage like Interim Tax Code, this will be your Target Tax Code.
Assign this Target Code to your Interim Tax Code in T-code FTXP, initial screen.
RFUMSV50 is to be executed in SM35.
follow this procedure, do let us know your results and to guide you for further action.

  • Vendor down payment with input tax

    Dear Expert
    My client receieves down payment with input tax, to meet their legal requirement for VAT filing, they have to book entries as below;
When receieving down payment with input tax:
    Dr. Down payment
          Input tax
      Cr. Bank
When receiveing vendor invoice for remaining AP amount:
    Dr. Expense
          Input tax
      Cr. AP (remaining amount)
Then clear down payment by expense
    Dr. Expense
      Cr. Down payment
They do in this way, because input tax in down payment and input tax in remaining AP invoice should be listed as two items in their VAT report. And intput tax in down payment document is with reference field which is different from reference field in remaining AP invoice, and reference field is also one mandatory field in VAT report.
In this case, I can not use SAP standard T-code F-54 to clear down payment. But when I tried to create a manual JV to post entry with Dr. Expense and Cr. Down payment, it's OK, but then when I used F-44 to manully clear down payment doc by manual JV, I got problem because the amount in down payment is down payment amount + input tax amount, but the amount in manual JV is only down payment.
    Does someone have a solution?
    Thanks,
    Nicole

    Nicole,
Which country is this requirement for?  As far as I know, there is no tax incidence on downpayment.  Input tax arises only when you receive the invoice, right?  Not when you receive a downpayment.

  • Posting Vendor Downpayment requests with input tax

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to configure the down payment request for Vendor Payments, I want these down payment request to be posted so I un flagged the Noted Items check box and flagged the check box Commitments warnings check box and also I entered the Account determination key for Input tax clearing. Alternative GL account is defined to allow the Input Tax.
Now the problem is, when I try to post the Down payment request document with input tax I get an error message stating that "Down pmnts with taxes are not permitted when processing with jur.code".  Actually the input tax is being assigned automatically even if I don’t use a tax code.
So, can any one help me to understand what am I missing in my configuration or is it some thing which cannot be processed using F-47.
Oh by the way I am using the Special GL indication F (down payment request).
    Thanks
