InputField Histroy / Browser auto-completition

Hello,
for a current project I need a possibility to use the browsers (internet explorer) auto completition feature in web dynpro and portal.
Since I cannot find any thread in the forum for this topic I open this one.
I found only thread that discuss the inputfield history for business server pages, but none discuss this for web dynpro.
In the html source of the generated site i have found an attribute autocomplete="off" at every input-filed, so i think the autocomplete feature is deactivated.
Now whats the reason for this, and is it possible to enable the autocomplete feature?
It would be kind if anybody can answer my questions or can provide a solution.
Best regards,
Thorsten Gawantka

Hi Sumit,
all the autocomlete settings are activated in my ie, but it is not used in web dynpro and portal.
btw we use ie7
regards
Thorsten

  • 1.4 Web Browser auto-search doesn't work on wifi only

This issue only started in 1.4 and it's a bit weird. If I'm in the web browser, at the start page and I type something and hit "enter" or choose google (they both ssearch on google) it will either run forever without ever loading google or take a VERY long time before finally loading. The weird part is that if I instead type www.google.com, it goes immeadiately (or any other website) AND if I'm not on wifi it works perfectly AND if I AM on wifi, all other apps connect immeadiately (for example, the twitter app connects immeadiately on wifi). I have no idea what the browser's doing differently on wifi with the auto-search but it does it every time.

Please allow me to clarify... How can you fix the search on the messages? I try to search one of my clients names (a new client that I don't yet have saved in my phone but I know her name) and I type in a name in the search bar and nothing comes up. Is there a way to solve this issue?

  • Genre sort in Browser, auto sync, sort order

I just updated to 3.1.1 and iTunes 9.0. Now Genre is missing in the browser. How can I get it back? Also none of my playlist sync in auto. I have to manually manage it. I rarely use it for music, just for listening to stories and podcasts, so it's important to have them in the correct order for listening, i.e. chapters. Now the playlist doesn't show up on the itouch sorted correctly.
    1. Doesn't have Genre in Browser. 2. Doesn't auto sync. 3. Sort order is messed up between iTunes and iTouch. 4. Is it caused by 3.1.1 or iTunes 9.0? Does anyone know how to fix these issues? I don't have an old download of iTunes 8 to uninstall 9 and reinstall 8. iTouch 3.1.1 can't be uninstalled. Shadow

iTunes 9 changed the browser to a column on the left side (by default), but you can go back to how it was on top, see the View/Column Browser menu. You can have multiple filters (Artist, Album, Composer, etc.) either as a column on the left, or across the top.
    shadow1953 wrote:

You have to be doing something wrong since auto-sync does work. Make sure your iPod is in auto-sync mode -- if you change the sync mode, make sure you click the "Apply" button -- if you don't, it won't change. If you're not syncing your entire library, then make sure that you've selected the playlists you want loaded onto the Touch.
    shadow1953 wrote:

Are you referring to the sort order within a playlist, or the sort order of all your playlist names? I know that the playlist name sorting has changed (again) such that punctuaion comes first, then letters, then numbers. If you're referring to the sort order of the items within a playlist, then it may be a bug -- there are reports of problems with the sorting of podcasts within playlists, so maybe the same is true for books?

    Not sure, could be either.

You can get down-rev versions of iTunes at sites like filehippo (there are others). Keep in mind though that your "iTunes Library.itl" file was changed with iTunes 9 and is not backward-compatible. You'll have to look for the old .itl file in your "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder (check the date of these .itl files). If you fid the .itl file from iTunes 8, just replace the current one and then uninstall iTunes as well as "Apple Mobile Device Services" and Quicktime, then install iTunes 8.
You can go back to a prior OS version on your Touch if you have the native file (you would if you previously did a firmware update, it stays on your computer). If you updated to 3.0 then you can go back to it by holding the SHIFT key as you click the Restore button (use the OPT key on a Mac) and then select the 3.0 version. You can't go back to 2.x in this manner, but there is a different way to go back to 2.x if you ever want to (won't go into that here).

  • Browser auto complete

Hi I have just downloaded safari for Windows and I am most impressed having used Firefox, Chrome & IE8 previously, however one issue I need help with please, when I use the browser bar which is set for Goggle search, there is no auto complete facility, is this available, I note for those using Mac OS there is an add on Inquisitor but that does not seem to be available for Safari Windows users?
    Thanks

No, not at this time. But it is available for Firefox and IE users on Windoze. You'd have to pester Yahoo! to make it available for Safari on Windoze, since they own it now, or just buy a Mac instead.

  • Browser auto-refreshes if more than one page is opened

I'm not sure how to explain my problem, I tried calling apple support but no new suggestions where given (besides emptying cache, history, etc, restoring phone, blah blah) It's a 4GB iPhone I purchased on July 29th btw.
When I open up a webpage, lets say I go to apple.com and it fully loads.
I decide to open a second webpage, I open up apple.com/iphone and it fully loads.
When I click to view both pages so i can switch back and forth, the first page is blank, so if I click that page, it's a blank page and it has to reload.
One that loads up AGAIN, if I try to go to the second page, THAT page is blank, and I have to let it re-load.
This is frustrating if I'm checking my bank balance and/or credit card or other material that requires me to log in.
I didn't have this problem at first, ever since the 1.1 update it's been happening 99% of the time.
I used to get "timed out" or forced to "relog" into a webpage but never did I have to let the page reload itself.
And it happens with any mix of webpages, regular HTML sites, HTTPS sites, and like I pointed out in my examples, on any apple.com pages, it just has to be more than 1 page.
Any suggestions? Apple support suggested that if resetting the phone, doing a restore, a complete wipe, empty cache/history/etc doesn't fix it, that I should mail my phone in, but then I'd be without a phone for a week or so.
    Suggestions?
Also, the battery life seems to have been cut in half since the 1.1 update for me, I know it sounds crazy but I always keep my brightness down to its lowest setting (I have bionic lasik eyes) and used to get up to 8-9 hours of on/off playtime (browsing, music, youtube, videos)
Now I'm barely getting 5-6 hours, which is on and off use, I use it for 30 minutes, then push the top button and put it in my pocket for an hour, then use it for another 30 minutes, etc. It seems to loose half it's battery life within the first 1-2 hours.
No big deal, maybe I'm just loosing my mind or my days are going faster, I'm more concerned about my first issue but perhaps mentioning both may shed some light on something.
    Thanks in advance!

I was having this exact issue. I was poking around in the Settings for Safari and tried toggling the security settings to see if that would make a difference. Surprisingly, the option that worked was turning off the Block Pop-ups option. When I turned that off, all my pages stayed cached in the background (even when I had 8 windows open) and only refreshed when I hit the refresh button. Of course, with the option turned off you run the risk of getting unwanted pop-ups, and I've admittedly only been testing this for about 30 minutes, but I haven't seen a problem yet. Give it a try and see if it fixes the problem.
FYI, not having an issue with the battery. Keep the brightness at about 1/4 and still get about the same amount of battery life.

  • How can the browser auto-refresh not be considered a bug?

I have been browsing these forums and I have seen this issue over and over again being discussed and the answer is always "that's not a bug, that's how it works, you can't change or disable it."
Here is the problem. In ios 7, when you are using Safari (or any other browser, I have found), if you exit the browser to do almost anything: your phone rings, you open the camera and take a picture - anything at all - when you return to the browser, the current page will almost always reload itself. Anything you have done on that page, any comment written, any checkboxes checked - everything - will be lost.
This is an important issue for me, because I have written a web application that I use every single day for work. My web application is a 560k page of pure html/javascript (no third party or plugin content at all, I wrote it all by hand) with about another 80k worth of graphics (buttons). You load the page and javascript functions move you from div to div, with different sets of checkboxes in each div (there are some 87 such divs in the page). At the end of this process, you click a button to finish your checklist, which will save it to a database and you're done. Unfortunately, this process would never get to the end because of the page constantly refreshing.
So I rewrote the page to save via ajax at each major section (there are 8 major sections). Dividing it up this way meant that all of your work is never lost and that you only have to go back and redo at most one section. When I rewrote it this way and I was still using ios 6, it was only a minor annoyance. I might have to redo a section once or twice a week because of a page refresh.  Ever since the upgrade to ios 7 however, it has become a pain again, because now the page refreshes almost every single time. The problem is that while doing this checklist, I have no choice but to go to the camera to take pictures documenting what I am checking boxes about. This switch to the camera and back again almost always forces a page refresh.
It strains credibility to think that a 640k web page has to be cleared out every time you do anything. I have only this page open in the browser, nothing else going on, nothing else loaded, all apps closed - and still, the browser will be force refreshed every time I do anything. The iphone 4s has 512M of memory, so my page occupies 640k of 524288k, or .001% of the available memory. Do you really have to refresh this thing every single time I sneeze?
How can this not be considered a bug, clearing out everything that can be cleared out regardless of what impact it might have on the user experience?
And finally, can anyone at all suggest any kind of a workaround? People have been complaining about this since at least 2008. I'm at my wits end, its making my web app nearly unusable.

OK...after better keyword choices I did find that the 'change location' solution does work, but only if the calendar is first shared with the world, and then has its location changed:
      http://www.radbrooksolutions.co.uk/rs/Blog/Entries/2011/5/3_MobileMe_Calendar_Up date_and_PHP_iCalendar.html
Does anyone know if information in public calendars can be found in nefarious ways (like by Google)?
FWIW, I did try sharing privately to just myself, so that I could then subscribe to the calendar on the serving machine and push it out as a .ics file...but I cannot share a calendar with myself. Boooo.

  • Browser auto fit screen size

Hi. I want my browser window to fill the screen when someone enters my site. I have no idea how to do this, any tutorials anywhere. thanks guys.

Do you mean you want your design to fill the browser window, or are you wanting to force the browser window to take up the whole screen? If the latter, please don't - most people absolutely hate having control of their browser window taken away,  even if their browser will allow it.

  • How can i disable "browser-auto-load" for different iframe-contents in a composite widget?

    Hey there,
i´ve got a lil topic going on with a Website (One-Site-Layout with anchors), created with muse
i putted 20 iframes (each one routed to its own trigger) in a composite widget. Everything is working perfect for me and the users, but :
The deliverer of the iframe-contents (pretty big picture galeries) told me, his server crashes, because every single time, someome enter the Website, the browser i loading every single iframe-content in this widget automatically > so the traffic is way to large, and i need a solution that simply load every single content after a click on the right trigger, not before.
    thank you so much!

I also the same problem since a few days, on both iPad and iPhone before upgrading to iOS 8 and continued after update, in all browsers: Safari, Chrome and even when visiting website from Twitter app. The problem also happens on Safari for Mac when setting user agent to be iOS 7.  I also tested with 2 routers and 3G connection and problem remained, but all of them are STC in KSA.
Do you have any suspicious profiles installed in Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management (if that item exists near the bottom of the General list) or a VPN profile installed under Settings > General > VPN?
Do you have any proxies defined in your Wi-fi connections (Settings > Wi-Fi > tap "I" in a circle icon)?
These would not explain you seeing this over 3G or on a Mac by changing the user agent to match iOS 7, though.
Does this happen with all page loads, or just web searches?  (Any suspicious search engines listed in Settings > Safari > Search Engine?)
This almost appears to be a transparent http proxy messing with your web browser requests, and/or some kind of poisoned DNS server.  Does this happen on both http (non-secure) and https (secure) connections?  For example, does loading <http://google.com/> differ from loading <https://google.com/>?

  • CRM U.I browser auto logout

    Dear All,
I have this strange issue with  CRM UI. We have set the parameter rdisp/plugin_auto_logout with value 600.
This logs out the user from UI in case the idle time out is more tha 10 min. After that the page displayed shows as below:
"Your session has timed out! Click her to restart"
When we click on that link the user logs in again directly to the UI. What we want is that the browser should close once the time-out occurs. Is this posible by any of the ways such as any parameter in Java or if we can set any cookie time.
Kindly let me know the same .
    Regards,
    Atul

    Hi Atul,
timeout wont delete sso cookie but logoff does, this is default(standard) handling case within WEB UI.
if you wont to change the standard, you probably need send a message to SAP asking for support.  Or if you want to play with your own modification, you could consider using WEBCUIF Callback Service CRM_CALLBACK, posting cmd=shutdown or cmd=logoff will delete SSO cookie.
    Cheers,

  • IPhone 3G Browser Crashes - it's getting ridiculous now...

    Hi all
I've read the plethora of comments about the instability of the iPhone, and hoped that previous software updates would fix the problem.... but it's just getting worse and worse
My iPhone is incapable of maintaining a browsing session for a prolonged period of time....
-- if only Safari and iTunes are running, and I'm playing music, the browser performance is very very sluggish. As I sweep around the page with my finger, the music stutters and occasionally stops altogether
-- I regularly read and interact in web forums, which have a number of text entry boxes (a bit like this one). The text entry slows to a halt, then the browser eventually crashes. Without fail. So I lose the browser and everything I've spent 10mins writing, which is very very frustrating
It would appear the phone is running out of memory. How can I tell this, or work out whats running in the background?
-- When entering text, why doesnt the phone auto-capitalise the first letter of the a sentence? Has anyone else noticed this bug?
-- It annoying when the browser auto-refreshes the last page you visited when you go back into Safari. Maybe I didnt want a page refreshed and just wanted to continue reading something onscreen.
I bought my iPhone in the full knowledge that yes, there might be teething issues. But this has gone on way too long. I'm bored of having to restart the phone, I'm bored of restoring. Is there anything else I can try, short of sending it back?
Any help appreciated. Thanks for listening to my rant!
    L

This is a common complaint/problem. Performing an occasional reset (press and hold sleep/wake and home buttons until the Apple logo appears) can help, since that clears out the caches. But, yes, we share your frustration (notably, trying to post in these forums from the iPhone, well, sometimes I'd prefer a visit to the dentist! ).
When entering text, why doesnt the phone auto-capitalise the first letter of the a sentence? Has anyone else noticed this bug?
Perhaps the setting is off? Check Settings > General > Keyboard and make sure Auto-Capitalization is ON.

  • Firefox 3.6.3 won't reload pages, pages reload blank, refresh won't work.

I have a problem with 3.6.3 in Windows 7 64-bit with pages not reloading when I navigate back to them or refresh due to a change in the page. As an example, on eBay, but when I hit resend, the page loads blank (over and over). I have to renavigate to the page to get it to load. For instance, if I am viewing my "watching" list and remove an item, the page would normally refresh with my changes (old Firefox), now it notifies me that I have changed the page, but the page itself won't load. Refreshing does nothing. I have taken a screen shot. I have to renavigate to the page to see it. This is very time consuming and therefore, annoying. Any help would be appreciated. I am using Windows 7, 64 bit.
== URL of affected sites ==

Well, I found a fix that seems to work for me. I have dial-up so it may not work if you have broadband. These facebook games reference a great deal of links that can time-out on you and take forever to load. Oddly this came to me while watching the Isabella & Filomina Bing commerical. Your browser has to ping each link to find the proxy before it will load properly. So go to tools->options->advanced->settings and change it from manual to auto-detect. This should get your browser to load all the different links the facebook games need and won't time-out as much. It seems to work in Mafia Wars. I didn't want to mention it yet because I am still having problems loading facebook. Broadband modems usually have auto-detect hardwired which is usually faster than the browser auto-detect so if you have broadband i would leave it on manual, but you could try and see if it still works.

  • Unable to connect to internal SSL sites with unknown CA's after 36.0 update.

Last week my browser auto-updated to version 36.0 and I am now no longer able to connect to certain internal corporate websites. These sites either have self-signed certs, or certs signed by an internal CA. They do not use certs signed by publicly known "trusted" CA's.
For example, one of the errors that I receive is below:
    Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to [HOST]:[PORT]. SSL peer rejected a handshake message for unacceptable content. (Error code: ssl_error_illegal_parameter_alert)
Although a warning message is received in IE or Chrome we are given the option to proceed and the site opens correctly, despite those browsers also indicating that the servers cert is not trusted.
I have added the internal CA's cert to the Authorities tab in the Firefox Certificate Manager, but am still not able to connect to the internal site.
Firefox allows me to accept some incorrect certs (or at least it did in the past), why is this not the default behavior with *all* certificate related problems? I realize that there are malicious sites out there, but there are also internal ones that are being blocked as well. Is there a config option that can be set so a user is prompted for all cert errors and they can decide to proceed if desired instead of just being blocked from the site? I understand blocking by default, but there also needs to be a way to proceed for advanced users.
Are there any configuration options to loosen the cert standards for sites? All other sites seem to load properly and otherwise there are no problems with the browser.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I wasn't sure where to.
    Thanks for any assistance!

I had already set the tls.security.version.min to 0, so would have expected to be able to connect.
At this point it seems like the problem is that we are using an internal CA to sign the cert for this server, but Firefox won't allow me to proceed despite this. Is there an option that I can set to have firefox prompt on all certificate issues and give me the option to proceed anyways?
    Any other thoughts/suggestions?
