Inserting a table in a table

I want to insert a table in one of the cells of another table in Pages. Is that possible at all? Every time I try to insert a table, it covers over the entire roll of cells and I can't resize it to have it where I want it. I have tried to create the table outside of the original one and drag it to where I want it to be in the table, but it doesn't work either. Some help pls?

df,
You can nest tables in TextEdit, but not in Pages. If your document is simple, TextEdit might be sufficient. In Pages, you could make the inner table as a separate document, print it to PDF and Paste it into the outer table as a graphic.

    Hi Matthew,
    I think there is no difference in database insert between OO and non-OO.
    The correct syntax according to ECC600 online documentation is
    [Inserting Several Lines|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/fc/eb3a6d358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm]
    To insert several lines into a database table, use the following:
    INSERT target FROM TABLE itab \[ACCEPTING DUPLICATE KEYS].
    This writes all lines of the internal table itabto the database table in one single operation. If one or more lines cannot be inserted because the database already contains a line with the same primary key, a runtime error occurs. You can prevent the runtime error occurring by using the addition ACCEPTING DUPLICATE KEYS.
    Whenever you want to insert more than one line into a database table, it is more efficient to work with an internal table than to insert the lines one by one.
    I think the syntax
    INSERT my_dbtable FROM TABLE gi_data.
    should work, your suggestion may lead to syntax error.
    Regards,
    Clemens

  • Insert / update data to a table through DBLINK (oracle)

    I try to insert / update a table from one instance of oracle database to another one through oracle dblink, get following error:

    The same code to insert / update the exact same table in local instance works fine.No any binding problem. So i am pretty sure all ? mark in SQL are set with some value before sending to Oracle.
    Someone please advise what is possible problem. Db link is not set correctly? or we can not update remote table by dblink.
    By the way i can do insert / update from TOAD to the remote table through DBLINK. Problem happens only in Java code.
    thanks!
    Gary

    dblink links from one database instance to another.
    So it is certainly a source of possible problems when it works on one database and not another.
    You should start by looking at the dblink and it possible testing it in the database not via java.
    Note as well that that error suggests that it is coming from the Oracle database. I believe if you had a bind parameter problem in your java code that the error would come from the driver. But that is a guess on my part.

  • Inserting data from one table into another table using PL/SQL

    HI,
    I am trying to insert values from one table into another using PL procedure, the values I want to retrieve from the table riverside1 are charac_id and charac_type and insert these values into another table called riverside2 , the stored procedure zorgs_gorfs(x,y) accepts two parameters which are 2 charac_id's of d characters in riverside1 then using insert statements inserts these characters from riverside1 into riverside2.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE zorgs_gorfs(x IN NUMBER, y IN NUMBER) AS
         BEGIN
              INSERT INTO riverside2
                   (charac_id)
              VALUES
                   (x);
    INSERT INTO riverside2
                   (charac_id)
              VALUES
                   (y);
          END zorgs_gorfs;
    /This works but the problem im having is that when I also try to insert the charac_type as well as the charac_id it doesnt work below is the code:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE zorgs_gorfs(x IN NUMBER, y IN NUMBER) AS
         BEGIN
              INSERT INTO riverside2
                   (charac_id,charac_tye)

                        charac_id,
                        charc_type
                   FROM
                        riverside1
                   WHERE
                        charac_id = x);
          END zorgs_gorfs;
    /can someone kindly sort me out

    modify this sql
    INSERT INTO riverside2
                   (charac_id,charac_tye)
              VALUES
                   (Select
                        charac_id,
                        charc_type
                   FROM
                        riverside1
                   WHERE
                        charac_id = x);as
    INSERT INTO riverside2

                   FROM
                        riverside1

  • Using Insert and Delete icons in table control wizard.

    Can anyone tell me how to perform a new row insertion or deletion in a table created using the table control wizard.
    I see there is a form fcode_insert_row and fcode_delete_row, but dont know how to call them and what parameters to pass and all.
    Since iam new to SAP-ABAP, some code samples will be a great help.
    Thanks to all in advance.

    Hi Lavanya ,
    You have to add the icons personally in the table control.. . Put fcode for addition button as INSE and delete as DELE ..coding will be already thr in the wizard no need to anything just add icons in the table control by selecting from f4 help on icons option of screen.
    Thanks,

  • How to insert data into the mysql table by giving as a text file

    Hi,
    Any one know's how to insert data into the mysql table by giving as a text file as the input in JSP.Please respond ASAP.
    Thanks:)

    At least you can try StringTokenizer to parse your text files. Or download a text JDBC driver to parse your files, for instance, HXTT Text(www.hxtt.net) or StelsCSV(www.csv-jdbc.com).

  • How to identify date & time of insertion of rows in a table

    Hi,
    Is it possible to identify the date & time of insertion of rows in a table?

    pr01 ram edp
    ac05 gowri civil

    sorry for the confusion. I dont want to store date and time. I said that for example only.
    I have table which consists of thousands of rows. I want to know the insertion date & time of a particular row.
    Is it possible?So, if I have a table that stores a load of employee numbers, do you think I could get the database to tell me their names?
    If you don't store the information, you can't query the information.
    Ok, there are some dribbs and drabbs of information available from the back end of the database via the SCN's, Archive Logs etc., but those sort of things disappear or get overwritten as time goes by. The only way to know the information it to ensure you store it in the first place.
    So, in answer to your question, No, there isn't a true and reliable way to get the data/time that rows were inserted into the table, unless you have chosen to store it alongside the data.

  • Insert multiple records into a table(Oracle 9i) from a single PHP statement

    How can I insert multiple records into a table(Oracle 9i) from a single PHP statement?
    From what all I've found, the statement below would work if I were using MySQL:
         insert into scen
         (indx,share,expire,pitch,curve,surface,call)
         values
         (81202, 28, 171, .27, 0, 0, 'C' ),
         (81204, 28, 501, .25, 0, 0, 'C' ),
         (81203, 17, 35, .222, 0, 0, 'C' ),
         (81202, 28, 171, .27, 2, 0, 'C' ),
         (81204, 28, 501, .20, 0, 1, 'C' ),
         (81203, 28, 135, .22, 1, 0, 'C' )
    The amount of records varies into the multiple-dozens. My aim is to utilize the power of Oracle while avoiding the i/o of dozens of single-record inserts.
    Thank you,
    Will

    You could look at the INSERT ALL statement found in the documentation here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/statements_913a.htm#2133161
    My personal opinion is that you probably won't see any benefit because under the hood I think Oracle will still be doing single row inserts. I could be wrong though.
    The only way to confirm was if you did a test of multiple inserts vs an INSERT ALL, that is if the INSERT ALL met your requirements.

  • Insert records from a single table to two related tables

    DB - 10G
    OS - XP
    We have many thousands of comma delimited records that we want to insert into a normalised table structure.
    I have created a test dataset that can be found at the end of this post.
    I have csv records that look like this;
    donald, huey
    donald, dewey
    donald, louie
    And I want the data to be inserted into two separate table like this;
    table named PARENTS
    pk parent_name
    1  donald
    Table named CHILDRENS
    pk fk child_name
    1  1 huey
    1  2 dewey
    1  3 louie
    I constructed an insert statement that looks like this;
    INSERT ALL
      INTO parents (parent_id, parent_name) VALUES (parents_seq.nextval, parent_name)
      INTO children (children_id, parent_id, child_name) VALUES(children_seq.nextval, parents_seq.nextval, child_name )
    SELECT parent_name, child_name
      FROM sources;
    And this resulted in the following;
    Table named PARENTS
    pk child_name
    1  DONALD

    3  DONALD
    Table named PARENTS
    pk fk child_name
    1  1  HUEY
    2  2  DEWEY
    3  3  LOUIE
    Would anyone have any ideas on how I could accomplish this task?

  • Insert multiple rows in a table

    Hello Apex expert,
    I need help on insert multiple rows. it may look easy but I don't know how to do it.
    I have a table (with name found_table) which has these fields: found_ item_id, item_name, current_location, cost_center, tag_number. Also, I have a table (with the name transition) which has these fields: transition_id, found_item_id (FK to found_table), from_location, to_location, From_cost_center, to_cost_center, tag_number.
    I have an interactive report on found_table which I would like to add checkbox to all rows of the report. When the user checks any rows and press submit, I would like to send all these selected rows to another page which I have a form on transition table. The user will select a to_location and to_cost_center from this page (by the way from_location and from_cost_center and tag_number is the same as current_location and cost_center, tag_nuber from found_table, which I figured it out how to show those as a default in the new form). Now I want when a user selects the new location and cost center and press submit, all those selected rows be inserted in transition table with new locations.
    I read several threads on forum, but I could not find a solution for my problem. I will appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Atousa

    Hello again,
    I created a report with check box. I also added two selected list at the top of the region to select the location and cost center. Also, there is a transfer button(as submit) to insert the new data to table. Now I need the insert process. I tried different insert process but none of them is working for me:(((
    I created an example of what I need to do in the apex that you can take a look and give me some advise. The link is:
    What I need to do is:
    When a user selects several rows by using checkbox and selects To_LOCATION, and TO_COST_CENTER from selected list, and clicks on transfer, all the data should be insert in to another table with the name transition as follows:
    from found table to transition table
    found_item_id(pk) found_item_id (fk)
    current_location from_location
    cost_center from_cost_center
    tag_number tag_number
    selected list (to_location) to_location
    selected list (to_cost_center) to_cost_center
    Please help me on that. I appreciated.

    Hi DB Gurus,

    please help me to how insert this kind of data.I am trying to insert data by using "insert into" statement.Is it correct way or not. please let me know...
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    kumar

    Hey There,
    "I have two table like table A in instance X and table B in instance Y"
    Are these 2 instances sitting in the same db/rac.
    if so
    insert into x.a
    select * from y.b
    If the 2 instances are in different databases/racs then i think you can add a linked db into your script.- not 100% about that though.

    I want to insert the data into two tables in one insert statement. How can i do this using T-SQL ?
    Thanks in advance.

    You can INSERT into both tables within one Transaction but not in one statement. By the way, you would need to alter your dbo.Test1 table to allow null for first INSERT test2_id column
    See sample code below:
    CREATE TABLE #test1(test1_ID INT IDENTITY(1,1),test2_id INT NULL)
    CREATE TABLE #test2(test2_ID INT IDENTITY(1,1),test1_ID INT)
    DECLARE @Test1dentity INT
    DECLARE @Test2dentity INT
    BEGIN TRAN
    -- Insert NULL as test2_ID value is unknown
    INSERT INTO #test1(test2_ID)
    SELECT NULL;
    -- get inserted identity value
    SET @Test1dentity = SCOPE_IDENTITY();
    INSERT INTO #test2(test1_ID)
    SELECT @Test1dentity;
    -- get inserted identity value
    SET @Test2dentity = SCOPE_IDENTITY();
    -- Update test1 table
