Reading docs by the way.
Thanks in Advance!

Hi,
I managed to insert data.
but i'd to change button property TARGET to NO TARGET. actually i've craetd another page which has to be shown once user click this button & also process the pl/sql block i've written.but it seems it only works with one way.
if i change button property TARGET to page in this application the PL/SQL block doesn't work.

  • URGENT-- inserting data through tables.

    Hi
    I m working on Resume Generator. I have created a Create Resume page. It is working fine, inserting data properly.
    However, there is one problem—
    While creating the resume one employee can have multiple certificates.
    In addition, one employee can have multiple competencies.
    So in the create Résumé page I have taken three regions—
    One for employee details
    Two for certifications
    Three for competencies
    In certificateRN and CompetencyRN, I have added one item each of style table. In addition, separate controllers for each RN.
    Then configured the tables to include “ADD a row” button in both the tables with “Add Competency” and “Add Certificate” label resp.
    the code in AddCompetencyCO is ----
    public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OATableBean comtable = (OATableBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("CompetencyTable");
    comtable.clearCache(pageContext);
    comtable.setInsertable(true);
    comtable.setAutoInsertion(false);
    comtable.prepareForRendering(pageContext);
    String combuttonLabel =
    pageContext.getMessage("XX_RESGEN", "XX_T_ADD_COMPETENCY", null);
    OAAddTableRowBean comaddRow = (OAAddTableRowBean)comtable.getColumnFooter();
    comaddRow.setText(combuttonLabel);
    public void processFormRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processFormRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OAApplicationModule CreateAM = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    if (ADD_ROWS_EVENT.equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM)))
    CreateAM.invokeMethod("AddCompetency", null);
    The Code in AddCertificationCO is--
    public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OATableBean table = (OATableBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("CertificationTable");
    table.clearCache(pageContext);
    table.setInsertable(true);
    table.setAutoInsertion(false);
    table.prepareForRendering(pageContext);
    String buttonLabel =
    pageContext.getMessage("XX_RESGEN", "XX_T_ADD_CERTIFICATE", null);
    OAAddTableRowBean addRow = (OAAddTableRowBean)table.getColumnFooter();
    addRow.setText(buttonLabel);
    public void processFormRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processFormRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OAApplicationModule CreateAM = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    if (OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_ROWS_EVENT.equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM))) {
    CreateAM.invokeMethod("AddCertificate", null);
    and the code in MainCO is --
    public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    String actionInCreateResmScreen = pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM);
    OAApplicationModule CreateAM = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    CreateAM.invokeMethod("CreateResumeMethod");
    public void processFormRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processFormRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    String actionInCreateResmScreen = pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM);
    if (actionInCreateResmScreen.equals("AddProjects"))
    pageContext.setForwardURL(
    "OA.jsp?page=/CGR/oracle/apps/xx_resgen/employee/webui/AddProjectPG"
    ,null
    ,OAWebBeanConstants.KEEP_MENU_CONTEXT
    ,null
    ,null
    ,true
    ,OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_NO
    ,OAWebBeanConstants.IGNORE_MESSAGES);
    Now the problem is –
    When I click on “Add Competency” button a row is added in both the tables and not only in Competency Table. i.e. the control is going in the PFR(Process Form Request) of both the controllers. And same is happening with “Add Certificate”. Data is being inserted in all the DBtables properly but this is the problem in design.
    I tried a lot but I m not getting it right. Please help.

    Hi,
    SOURCE_PARAM - indicates the source of the event that is generating the current browser request. This maps to the name attribute of the web bean. If you wish to check whether a table generated an event, you include in your code:
    if (tableBean.getName().equals(pageContext.getParameter(SOURCE_PARAM)))
    To check for the "Add Rows" event:
    if (tableBean.getName().equals(pageContext.getParameter(SOURCE_PARAM)))
    && ADD_ROWS_EVENT.equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM)))
    This is explained in Dev guide.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi vikas singhal
    before insert i need to group it is possible or notPls note : Whenever you do a "group by" or "order by" operation, Oracle will invoke a sorting operation. Using the "group by" inside SQL syntax is also useful for doing summaries
    i want when i retrive the data it will like this Pls try the following...
    SQL> select
      2    dress_name,
      3    color ,
      4    qty,
      5    count(quantity) Num , sum(quantity)summation  -- may be the same
      6   from
      8    ur_table_name
      9  group by dress_name   ,  color  ,   qty ;u can also try Francois's Suggestion by creating a view based on the last Query...
    want when i insert data (commit) then data will insert in group by
    make the view to be insert from it as follow...

  • Best Practice for ViewObjects when inserting data through pl/sql procedure

    My applications is oracle form based enterprise level application and we are now developing new module in ADF 11g but there is restriction that all data insertion, updation, and deletion will be through oracle pl/sql procedures. Now my question is that adf pages should be binded with ViewObjects based on Entity Object or with Viewobjects not based on Entity / sql query. Currently I have developed pages with programmatic ViewObjects which are neither based on Entity Objects nor on sql query. In those view objects, i create transient attributes and then used it to create adf pages. Then on save, i extract the data from ViewObject's current row and pass it to procedure. This is working fine but just wondering whether this approach is ok or there is better alternative for that. Ideally i want to create ViewObjects based on EntityObject but don't finding any way to synchronize entityObjects with data inserted through procedures.

    Hi,
    I create a EO for the Database-View and override the doDML()-Method. For insert/update and delete I call the pl/sql-functions.
    See "38.5 Basing an Entity Object on a PL/SQL Package API" in Oracle® Fusion Middleware Fusion Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development
    Framework.

  • Insert image through button

    Hello there,
    Is it possible to insert an image through a button?
    And a step further, to protect the function of this button by a password.
    If not, maybe there is another way to do the following:
    One user must verify the form and use his initials (which I have as .jpg).
    But not everyone must have the change to use his initials by clicking the button.
    I'm using Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0.
    I have already did some research on the net but withouth success!
    Thank you for your replies.

    Sounds as if what may really solve your problem is the use of digital signatures.

  • Inserting data from a view

    Hi:
    i'd like to create a view from 5 different tables and let the user insert data through a form based in that view. Does anybody know how to do this? when i try to insert data i get error saying it can't be done in non key preserved tables. Any idea how to do this?
    Thanks.
    Regards. Urko.

    HI Urko,
    There are some issues in forms created on views ,especially when the view is based on two tables and also when there are issues of "Key-Preserved Tables" so please wait till the point we are able to overcome these limitations.As the forms are based on the ROWIDs which are not there in these views there are some issues
    in these cases.There are bugs filled for these issues but will take some time to actually fix them.
    thanks

  • Need Help In Inserting Data

    Hello Everybody
    I have to insert data through excel sheets containing over 2,00,000 lakh records
    I am using toad to insert data but the issue with toad is that it supports excel 97-2003 format and I have to divide the excel sheets again and again to insert the data
    I can also use the pl/sql developer to insert the data but I don't know the process, plz suggest some gud ways to do that
    Thanks & Regards
    Peeyush Sharma

    Hi,
    Use the below script for control file:
    load data
    infile 'C:\Documents and Settings\abcd\Desktop\dat1.csv'
    into table empz
    fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '"'
    (emp_id,emp_name,emp_sal)
    {code}
    there is a difference between .txt and csv loading. as  we are using csv(comma seperated values)
    fields terminated by : {code} fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '"' should be comma ( ,) .

  • Need validation when insert the data through AddAnotherRow  functionality

    hi All,
    i need to validate customer id when i insert the data through AddAnotherRow functionality in AdvancedTable.
    CO:
    if ("AdvanceTabRN".equals(pageContext.getParameter(SOURCE_PARAM)) && ADD_ROWS_EVENT.equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM)))
    am.insrtCustcondtls();
    AM:(For Inserting the Data based on EO Based VO)
    public void insrtCustcondtls()
    XxcurTradeCustomerDtlsEOVOImpl CrteVO=getXxcurTradeCustomerDtlsEOVO1();
    Number cust_seq=getOADBTransaction().getSequenceValue("customer_id_seq");
    CrteVO.setMaxFetchSize(0);
    Row row=CrteVO.createRow();
    CrteVO.insertRow(row);
    row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    Here Customer ID is Primary key.
    if customer id is already in the table then i need to throw an exception like customer id is already existing or we need to throw an exception.
    Thanks,
    Mallik.

    Hi Mallik,
    Our doDml() method fires when you try to issue commit if you want to validate data at commit then just add the code in the Entity Object Class as I posted in previous post or if you want to validate records with data at add new Row button then you can follow the following aproach.
    1. create a data base pl/sql function which take the customer id as input and return 1 if the customer already existed or 0 if not existed.
    2. Now we can call this database function at Add new Row button
    i. if it returns 1 then we will throw Exception.
    ii. if it return 0 then we will let the record save in data base.
    The following code will help you.
    private String getCustomerId(OAPageContext pageContext,
    OAWebBean webBean, String customerID) {
    OAApplicationModule am =
    (OAApplicationModule)pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    OADBTransaction transaction = (OADBTransaction)am.getOADBTransaction();
    String value = null;
    CallableStatement cs = null;
    try {
    String plSqlStatement =
    "begin :1 := nameOfYourFunction(" + customerID +
    "); end;";
    System.out.println(plSqlStatement);
    cs = transaction.createCallableStatement(plSqlStatement, 0);
    System.out.println("got executed");
    cs.registerOutParameter(1, Types.CHAR);
    cs.executeUpdate();
    value = cs.getString(1).toString();
    return value;
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    return value;
    Finally you can call this method as follow
    if ("AdvanceTabRN".equals(pageContext.getParameter(SOURCE_PARAM)) && ADD_ROWS_EVENT.equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM)))
    String custID;
    am.insrtCustcondtls();
    custID=getCustomerId(pageContext,webBean,customerID)
    if(custID.equals("1")) {
    throw new OAException("Your message");
    Now its up to you which aproach you follow.
    Haroon.

  • Error while trying to insert data on a database through a mediator

    I have build a simple project on 11g TP$, which consists of a mediator, a file adapter, that reads an xml file and a DB adapter that inserts data on a database.
    The mediator connects the file adapter to the DB adapter and through a routing rule it inserts data on a table of the database.

    I have checked the .xsd file and my xml several times and it seems that they are correct. Moreover, the .xsl file is also correct.
    Does anyone have any idea of what may produce this problem?
    Thanks

    I was finally able to get my project working. Heidi - You were right, there was a problem with the XSL generated by the XSL map editor.
    I am trying to locate if this issue has already been reported, but I am highlighting it here, in case someone else faces the same.
    The XSL generated was as follows:
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
    xmlns:dvm="[http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.dvm.LookupValue]"
    xmlns:bpws="[http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/]"

    </xsl:for-each>
    </top:EmployeeTrackingCollection>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    The Xpath included the "imp1:" tag to reference the namespace. I tested this XSL and it didn't work. However, on removing the namespace "imp1:" from the Xpath, the XSL works fine and I am able to insert into the database. "No suitable driver" still appears in the log, but all rows from the XML are inserted into the database.
    Heidi - do you think this is a bug?

  • How to insert data in to msaccess through jsp

    i am doin a project in jsp, which i am new to. i have completed the design part in jsp now i am supposed to work with backend and stuffs.
    yesterday i had asked how to connect jsp with msaccess and Mr sharma had helped me in that and now that part is up and running. i am able to retrieve data from the table
    now my problem is how to insert data that i get from the user through the forms in to a table
    i have a registration form in jsp that contains the username, password, age etc. how can i get add these informations in to access.pls help me
    thanks in advance

    Hi....
    Simply obtain a jdbc connection to your ms access database.
    one u have a connection u can use , Statement Or PreparedStatement to
    execute queries against database
    Here is an example of mysql...
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.PreparedStatement;
    public class SqlAuthenticationHandler{
         private Connection conn;
         private PreparedStatement statement;
         private ResultSet rs;
         public SqlAuthenticationHandler(){
    /** Load ur JDBC driver **/
    try{
                   Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver");
    conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/JDrive","root","password");
              }catch(Exception ex){
                   ex.printStackTrace();
    public void insertUser(String name, String password){
    try{
    /** Create a statement **/
    statement=conn.prepareStatement("INSERT into user values(?,?)");
    statement.setString(1,name);
    statement.setString(2,password);
    statement.executeUpdate();
    statement.close()
    }catch(SQLException e){
                        e.printStackTrace();
    Here replace "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" with class name of your type 4 Ms Access Driver.
    replace jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/JDrive","root","password" with url of ur access database
    check out this jdbc tutorial

    PreparedStatement preparedStatement=conn.prepareStatement("{call INSERT_CALLREPHEADER (?,?,?)}");
    preparedStatement.setString(1, clobValue);
    preparedStatement.setString(2,null );
    preparedStatement.setString(3,null );
    preparedStatement.execute();
    preparedStatement.close();
    conn.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    // System.out.println(e.getMessage());
    e.printStackTrace();
    }

    I have got the answer...
    use DBMS_XMLSave.setdateformat(insCtx, 'dd-MM-yyyy'); and u can change ur date format....

  • Inserting data into table through linked server

    Hi
    I am trying to insert data from a remote database into my database using linked server.
    Below is the syntax that I am using
    set XACT_ABORT on
    INSERT INTO MyTable
    EXEC [172.xx.xx.xxx].MyDatabase.dbo.[MyStoredProc] '2014-10-20','2014-10-26'
    When I execute the SP (EXEC [172.xx.xx.xxx].MyDatabase.dbo.[MyStoredProc] '2014-10-20','2014-10-26'   ) I get the result.
    but when I try inserting the data into a table using the above code I get the following error
    OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI11" for linked server "172.xx.xx.xxx" returned message "No transaction is active.".
    Msg 7391, Level 16, State 2, Line 59
    The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI11" for linked server "172.xx.xx.xxx" was unable to begin a distributed transaction.
    I tried solutions given on
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7473508/unable-to-begin-a-distributed-transaction
    but still i get the issue... I don't know whats wrong.

    I think you may need to set the remote proc transaction promotion for linked server option to
    false.

  • Refresh LOV after inserting data in correspondent table

    Hi all,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2 and ADFBC.
    I have a page with a table (tableA) with some fields. One of them has a LOV associated to another table(tableB). I have a button (button1) that shows a popup(popup1) and opens a new task flow with a fragment to insert data in the tableB.
    After inserting/modifying rows in tableB and after pressing commit (property: end-transaction) or rollback buttons (property: end-transaction and restore save point), LOV does not refresh.
    I have tried to set the property partial triggers of the LOV to button1 or popup1 and it does not work.
    How can I solve it?
    Thank you.
    Andrea

    How about VO for table B ? Did you refresh that ? I didn't use the same VO for table & LOV.
    so in "List data Source" -- VO -- I am using "SQL statement" and statement includes fields from Table B and Table A.
    VO for LDS using "Rows populated by a SQL query with read-only access". I didn't use "Updateable Access through Entity Objects".
    Sample of VO of LDS:
    select A.model_number modelNumber, a.part_number partNumber, b.MODEM_TYPE ModemType
    from table A a,Table B b
    where a.PART_NUMBER_ID = b.PART_NUMBER_ID
    and a.part_number_id =:partID
