Inside folder problem

hello all experts
now i face with a problem. i need to know the file (sound file name) inside the specified folder. The default folder path is the program path. Also, i want to specify the path with filechooser. After that, all the sound file inside the folder are listed in the list box. help me
regards,
jay

Nobody is providing an example because if you follow this link, that was already posted:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/javax/swing/JFileChooser.html
an example pops up right in front of your smiling face that does most of what you ask. It doesn't do WAV files, it does some other kind of files, and it doesn't look in the C:\ directory (which would be a really poor choice of place to put files anyway), it looks somewhere else. But those are minor details. If you don't know how to fix them, you shouldn't be going any farther with your program until you learn how.

  • Folder problems on external drive, not showing correct file size

    I've run across a strange problem. I'm media managing for a tv show, meaning I'm offloading video from CF cards onto 2 external drives, one is a Drobo Raid (set up for backup) and another is a Lacie rugged drive. After copying the media to both drives, the folder I copy will match, but sometimes as I drill upward in my folder structure, suddenly the file sizes will not match. To be more clear: 2 folders will show differing file sizes, but inside that folder is only another folder,nothing else, which matches across the drives. I've shown all files in finder and there's no hidden files, though sometimes I see the ds_store files are different sizes (8k vs 16k), but that's not always the case. Sometimes if I simply create a new folder and move it's contents into it I can get the folders to match, but sometimes that doesn't work. It's part of my workflow to show that these copies match exactly via screenshots, and although the most important folder (the direct folder holding the footage) always matches, these folder problems are super frustrating as it's not constant, and any workarounds also work inconsistantly.
    I had an accidental disconnect of the Drobo one time, and although none of the data seems to have any problem, I fear it's done something to the directory. The rugged drive is swapped out every few days and the problem seems to be on the Drobo. Because the nature of the data is pretty important, I'm afraid to just try messing around with repairing or other software solutions unless I know it's super safe and won't harm the data.
    I'm at a loss as to what's causing it and at the very least how to avoid it cropping up. Any help or insight would be appreciated!

    I had the same problem with my iMac, first I repaired the disk, then I ejected the disk, restarted, and then reinserted the USB in a different port.  All of my files magically showed up.  I don't know what caused the error but it has been working fine since.

  • To find total number of files inside folder

    Hai,
       In knowledge management is there any option to find total number of files inside folder...
        I also want to see the recently uploaded and modified documents in a seperate iview...
        Iam using NW2004s SP8..
        Very urgent..
        Waiting for a positive reply..
        Thanks&regards,
         Kiruthika.S

    Hi Kiruthika,
    1. You only need the configarchive if you don't want create all the KM configuration objects mentioned in the guide manually. So, just create the objects mentioned there and you don't need the configarchive
    Also, the scenario works also on 2004s.
    2. Please check this thread on how to show the total number of files inside a folder:
    https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=19610
    3. It would be nice if you would consider rewarding the time people like Saravanan spend to investigate and answer your question by assigning points via the colored stars.

  • Any Update on the "Ghost Folder" Problem

    Just wondering if there has been any furhter insight into the "Ghost Folder" problem created after editing in PS CS3 (from LR2)?
    Is there any manual way to get the image from the ghost folder to appear back in the proper folder?
    Thanks
    Ken

    Hi Guy,
    Thanks for the reply.
    When I edited the image in PS CS3 I saved it to a folder as a .tif (so I could send it to a print lab). When I went back to LR2 the saved tif did not show up in my tif folder so I synchronized that folder and that's when it showed up in the "ghost folder" in LR2. When I look at the original folder of tifs this particualr image doesn't show up. I then tried to move (drag and drop) from the ghost folder into the original tif folder but LR tells me there is already an image there by that name.
    So if I manually remove the ghost folder (via LR or in windows) what will happen to the saved tif?
    Right now I have PS CS3 set up as the first editor in the preferences, with tif as thw working format. Are you suggesting that PS be set up as the additional editor as well? WHat do I put in the preference for the primary editor?
    BTW, I am also working in Win XP Pro.
    Thanks
    Ken

  • PDF XChange annotations are not saving (temp folder problem?)

    Hello,
    I'm having a problem with the XChange PDF viewer within Firefox:
    When annotating a file outside of Firefox, I can save the changes and have them reappear
    when I close and re-open the file
    Doing this inside Firefox, I cannot, it appears that the files are saved, but they do no
    reappear on re-opening. This is true even when annotating a file that is opened from my
    hard drive (as opposed to opening it from a website)
    Doing this inside IE, it works properly. However, I need to use Firefox here at work
    instead of IE or XChange separately.
    I believe the problem lies in the fact that when XChange/FF open a pdf inside FF, a file
    is created in C:\Temp and the changes are somehow being lost here. Interestingly, if I
    take the file opened within FF and open it in XChange outside the browser (by using the
    button in the bottom left of the viewer pane) I _still_ cannot save my changes, and I now
    get an error message along the lines of:
    ‘Error saving document to “c:\Temp\pdf38.tmp”:
    Error [IO subsystem]: Invalid access mode’
    where 'pdf38.tmp' is the name of the temp folder created when the original file was
    opened within FF.
    I didn’t have these problems a few months ago, so it’s something to do with the new
    versions of XChange and FF. Please let me know what you can do to fix this. I really
    like using XChange, but if this can’t be fixed I’ll have to switch to something else to
    do my work.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Reinstalling latest versions of FF and PDF X-Change

    I wrote a ton of notes and I freaked out when it didn't work so I emailed the pdf to myself, and its the current version with all the notes that I had just taken.
    try it out! it worked for me

  • Strange and fatal file name / root folder problem. Please help!

    Hi there. I wonder if anybody could help me!
    I am using CS4 but this problem still occurred in CS3. When I
    set up a new site in Dreamweaver I go through the usual motions
    selecting the local root folder and images folder. Then when I go
    into the new site it creates an initial site cache as usual. After
    this (when I try to upload anything for example) the cache seems to
    have disappeared (i.e. all local files disappear in DW). It tells
    me that I should go through setting up the site process again but
    this only ends up going round in circles!
    Curiously, when I look at my HD in finder, Dreamweaver has
    created a new folder named "Macintosh HD" and inside it follows the
    exact same file structure as the "real" local files except the
    website files do not exist inside the root folder!
    I can not understand what is going on here. I suspect it
    might be something to do with the locations of files and relative /
    absolute linking on the HD?
    Please help if you can! Thanks.

    What is the NAME of your hard drive? Does it (or any
    intermediate folder)
    contain unusual characters (apostrophes, parentheses, etc.)?

  • "inside flap" problem

    I've recently encountered a problem with the "inside flap" of a couple of books I've been working on in iPhoto.
    Briefly, the right two-thirds of the page is covered with a grey metallic surface. The remaining third on the left looks fine, but I can't seem to get rid of the glitch. The problem is visible in all the "layouts," and in both "views" as well. It appears in a book I finished last year, and in the one I've just begun.
    I can't imagine what's wrong.

    I believe what you are seeing is iPhoto showing you what the inside flap would look like if you opened your book. The third on the left is the part of the paper cover (the dust jacket that wraps around a hardback) that folds into the book.
    The upgraded version of iPhoto now offers dust jackets and has probably retroactively turned your old book's cover (where they basically printed a sticker of your cover and stuck it on the hardback) into a dust jacket style.

  • Nested folder problems in XP via Bootcamp

    I'm running Windows XP on my iMac via Bootcamp. It runs pretty much fine, with the exception of some fits over mouse/keyboard/DirectX drivers that I guess everyone is having.
    However, it has one really huge annoying and flummoxing problem: if you have too many layers of subfolders, XP stops letting you drag files into the nested folder, won't open them if they're text or jpg, etc.
    For example, suppose I create a "Beretta" subfolder at this level:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Kate\My Documents\Games\Particular Game\Downloads\Weapons\Handheld Weapons\Guns\Handguns\Pistols\Beretta\
    XP won't let me drag any files into the "Beretta" folder without an error message saying "Cannot move file RKELLY: The file name is not valid or [is] too long. Specify a different file name." I can drag the "Beretta" folder to another location further up the tree--or to my Desktop--and drop the RKELLY file in. If I check, the RKELLY file will open fine. I can even move the "Beretta" folder back to where I wanted it, under "Pistols." But then the RKELLY file inside the folder won't open. I can't delete it or do anything else to them, either, until I move them back to my Desktop or another less-nested folder. Instead, just get a "ding" sound.
    Is there some sort of limit in XP I don't know about? Or it is a BootCamp issue? I can't figure out for the life of me why this would be happening, and it's a huge pain.

    Long File Names and Maximum Folder Depth
    Fat32
    The FAT32 file specification from Microsoft does not specify a maximum directory depth. There is no official published NTFS file specification...however, under NTFS the directory depth is limited by the 255 character file name limit; directory depth cannot be more that.
    The following is taken from Article No.: Q148754
    Long file names are limited to 255 characters in Windows 95. However, the maximum path length in Windows 95 is 259 characters. The maximum path length represents the length of the file name, plus the number of characters used to represent the drive and folder where the file is located. For example, the path length for the file
    C:\Windows\LongFileName.extension
    is 33 characters, but the file name is only 22 characters.
    Because the path length is limited to 259 characters, a long file name is limited to less than 255 characters if more than five characters are needed to represent the drive and folder where the file is located. If five characters or less are needed to represent the drive and folder where the file is located, the long file name is limited to 255 characters, even if the total path length is less than 259 characters. For example, if a file is located in the root folder of a drive, the long file name is still limited to 255 characters, even though 256 characters could be used before the maximum path length is reached.
    NTFS
    NTFS File name has a repeatable attribute for both long and short file names. The long name of the file can be up to 255 Unicode characters. The short name is the 8.3, case-insensitive name for the file. Additional names, or hard links, required by POSIX can be included as additional file name attributes.

  • MUVO N200 Bookmarking inside fold

    <SPAN>Hi,
    <SPAN>I have a Muvo N200, and am pretty happy with it - except for the problem with heaphones and screen light interference. But when I'm using it, there's a feature I'd like to have. When switching between folders (for example audiobook to music album) I'd like that the player remembers where I was in that folder. For music it's OK (even though I always hear the beginning...), but for audiobooks, it's annoying having to forward through the files and inside the file to where I left off.
    <SPAN>Does anyone if it's possible to bookmark where I left? <SPAN>Thanks.

    The tecnical support at Creative replied back to my query, so I leave the anwer here for future reference:
    With the MUVO N200 it will remember the stopping point of the audio file
    that you were playing if you turn off the unit then turn it back on.
    However it will not remember the stopping point between several files.
    Now depending on your audio books you may be able to make chapters so
    that you do not have to manually forward through you the hole file. If
    you have any more questions please let us know.

  • Frozen instrument tracks inside folder won't mute.  ?

    Hello people,
    Here I am again, with another issue.
    (By the way, the folder thing to simulate DP's multiple sequence workflow has been working well for me.)
    I have a bunch of instrument tracks inside a folder, which I have frozen after folder was packed. However, the mutes are not working. (Sometimes, if I unfreeze, and refreeze, the mute will work, even when frozen. But, after having saved, the strange behavior of not being able to mute these frozen folder-packed instrument tracks returns.)
    Whaddup Logic Pro?
    I wonder if the empty tracks in the main arrange window have anything to do with this?
    I also wonder, if posting this question will lead me to stumbling across the answer?
    hmm...

    Response to your post:
    I am with you thus far.
    Ready to go on to overlapping regions.
    Side note, original topic:
    I am having a strange time dealing with the following.
    I may or may not be understanding. I almost feel like I am in the wormhole described in that bilbo in matrixland post going on, now.
    My tale involves,
    14 audio instruments, 4 measure loops, 1 folder, 2 classes of 3 mutes (arrange tracks & regions and Channel Strip/Mixer Fader), freezes, repeated regions, realization that one must refreeze after regions are repeated to include this new material, and a deep logic haze.
    I think I may be getting it.
    And it's because I did not understand Logic's flow & process.
    The fundamental mistake was treating a 4 measure frozen region as an object, or as a "dynamic" thing, and not as a frozen "offline" thing as you mentioned. I copied the frozen region, but the copies would not make sound. And that's because I had to unfreeze, and refreeze to capture/bounce the new copied regions.
    I was blaming the strange behavior on the folders -- which I had not trusted yet. But the folders were just a red herring.
    The 2 classes of mutes made things a lil' strange - in trying to figure things out -- but,
    right now, i've successfully copied these 14 4-measure audio instrument regions, I've frozen them all, and I am able to hear them all, and have the computer handle it. Now, why won't logic make it musical. Why can't I just click the "spit out as various assemblies" in the region sub menu? Oh yes, that's my job.
    The music I am working on, is a perfect fit for this & the other starfish wormhole post going on. (director wants unfomfortable.)
    and to tie my post in the starfish thread in,
    Now, that I've given you a "problem solved" on this post, I have no more options to add a "helpful", correct? 'Cause you're being it.
    anyway thanks,
    d

  • ActiveX inside Folder - bug?

    When I will add SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_ACTIVE_X item to form and set  .frompane and .topane property to show it only on specific folder, the activex is visible in all folders, but not on the one where .frompane and .topane is set.
    The next problem with ActiveX compoennts is, that when this component is added to system form, after changing datas (formdataload) this component became invisible for few seccond and after that will be again visible (when i will move with cursor over it, it will be visible imediately).
    I think its bug in SBO, could somebody who played with activex confirm it to me?
    thanks

    Hi Vitor,
    you direct me to test it with the activex trreview from sdk samples. I added to BP form one folder and inside this folder i added this treeview.
    The problem with folders:
    - to BP form I added one folder and to this folder I added ActiveX as
    Dim oform As SAPbouiCOM.Form
                oform = SBO_Application.Forms.GetFormByTypeAndCount(pval.FormType, pval.FormTypeCount)
                Dim oitem As SAPbouiCOM.Item
                Dim oitem2 As SAPbouiCOM.Item
                oitem = oform.Items.Add("pane", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_FOLDER)
                oitem.FromPane = 55
                oitem.ToPane = 55
                Dim ofolder As SAPbouiCOM.Folder
                ofolder = oitem.Specific
                ofolder.GroupWith("9")
                oitem2 = oform.Items.Item("9")
                oitem.Top = oitem2.Top
                oitem.Left = oitem2.Left + oitem2.Width + 5
                oitem.Width = oitem2.Width
                oitem = oform.Items.Add("Tree1", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_ACTIVE_X)
                oitem.Left = 20
                oitem.Top = oitem2.Top + 20
                oitem.Width = 200
                oitem.Height = 200
                oitem.FromPane = 55
                oitem.ToPane = 55
                Dim acxtree As Object
                acxtree = oitem.Specific
                acxtree.ClassID = "MSComctlLib.TreeCtrl.2"
    And the result is, that its not working (same behaviour as my activex) - activex is on all panes except the folder with pane 55. It works exactly in opposit way than rest of non activex items. So i think its a bug in sdk.
    Problem with invisible component after form data load event:
    I added treeview to BP form (on header area with nos etting from and to pane) as:
    oitem2 = oform.Items.Item("128")
                oitem = oform.Items.Add("Tree1", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_ACTIVE_X)
                oitem.Left = oitem2.Left + oitem2.Width + 5
                oitem.Top = oitem2.Top
                oitem.Width = 80
                oitem.Height = 50
                Dim acxtree As Object
                acxtree = oitem.Specific
                acxtree.ClassID = "MSComctlLib.TreeCtrl.2"
    The result is, that after form data load the component will be invisible and will be visible again after few seccond. So I think its a bug in SDK too.
    So I think that ActiveX component are very good, but in relation to SBO only when they are used in new user form without panes (and not UDO, because component became invisible).

  • Move mail attachment to specified folder - problem

    Hi,
    I am busy making a script that downloads the mail attachments to a specified folder so that Hazel can work further on the files.
    Here is what i am trying to achive:
    Only Jpg, Tiff, Doc, Docx, mp3's and PDF's are moved to a folder called: Mail Attachments in the downloads folder and renamed with a prefix to the the date email was send. For Hazel to work correctly i also want to add the senders headers to the spotlight comment.
    So far all went well and i got a script working that does all these things.
    Only problem that is occuring now that images are duplicate twice in the folder:
    first file as i want: i.e. 20130711_RTP_1846.jpg and the second file is only named 2013 with no extension aswell.
    This happens only with the images, not with for example an PDF.

                                                                                    set the comment of file theFile to _Comment
                                                                          end tell
                                                                end try
                                                      end repeat
                                            on error msg
      display dialog msg
                                            end try
                                  end repeat
                        end tell
              end perform mail action with messages
    end using terms from
    on pad(n)
              return text -2 thru -1 of ("0" & n)
    end pad
    What strange is, that if i take out the part where the comment is filled with the header info, the script works fine producing only 1 file, but when i added this part of the script, i have the two files!
    Script is activated by a mail rule when mail has an attachment.
    Here a screenshot with the two images:
    Hope someone can help me, to tell me what i did wrong.
    Grt,
    Rob

    The problem is subtle, but noticable in your screenshot (that was a stroke of genius).
    Look closely at your screenshot. Note the file details below the image and you'll see the Name label:
    "2013
    07
    11_130711RTP_1846.jpg"
    Do you see the issue? It's not that the file is called '2013', it's called the entire expected file name, but with returns between the date elements. The problem is that return characters don't show in list view.
    So why are the returns there?
    That's because in the section of code where you build the comments you include the line:
                                            set AppleScript's text item delimiters to return
    Then you build the file name:
                                                                set originalName to timeStamp & "_" & name oftheAttachment
    Now the file name is technically a list of components (think of it as {originalName, timeStamp, "_", 130711RTP_1846.jpg} )
    When this list is coerced back to a text object, AppleScript inserts the current text item delimiters between each element, which results in your multi-line filename.
    The solution is actually a best practice when dealing with text item delimiters - always, always, always reset them when you're done.
    In this case you only want to have returns in the comment, so you should restore the TIDs after you've built the comment:
    set tid to AppleScript's text item delimiters
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to return
    set _Comment to (_links as rich text)
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to tid
    Now the TIDs will be set back to the default and you won't have the extraneous returns in the file name.

  • I am having the DCIM empty folder problem ..

    The folder first showed that there were random folders with some pictures in them so I transferred them (the DCIM folder) (transferred to my computer), but there was only about 1/10 of my pictures that showed up.. now it says that the folder is empty after transferring the pictures that did show up. Where are all my other pics and how can i get them to show up? I have tried everything listed on other posts with same problem but none of the  solutions worked for me >.< My girls have filled the iPad's storage with video and pictures and I am trying to clear them out as there is NO storage space left -- without deleting the vids/pics!

    also forgot to add that on the iPad under photos it says there is none, but under Albums that is where the other pics are on the iPad.. does that make a difference about them not showing up in the DCIM folder?
