Install lib32-* on 64bit machine.

Hi is there an easier way to install all the lib32-* packages without having to go through all of them. i need lib32-* to run virtualbox 32 bit client. i could however pipe the pacman -Ss lib32 output to a textfile but then i wil have to clean up before i could use it and its alot of things to clean up and im not good with sed. Thanks.

I have no idea why do you need all lib32 packages, but "pacman -Ssq lib32" will give you plain names of all lib32 packages, separated by newlines.

  • How to install biee 11g on 64bit machine?

    Hi,
I tried to install 11g on windows server 2008 sp2 64bit. I installed both 32bit and 64bit jdk first. Then installed biee with Software Only mode. At the step to specify middleware home, it prompted error, INST-07407: Unable to detect machine platform or JVM bits. How to install it on 64bit machine?

I am going to buy either a Mac Air or Mac Pro Retina 8GB RAM and 256GB. And as I have to still run Windows programs I will install Parallels 9. As the Mac are both 64bit machines does that mean I need to install Windows 7 64bit or just install 32 bit? (Going with Win7 as I hate Win8). And I will install Office Pro 2013 64 bit too or 32 bit or is that automatically selected by the underlying OS (I use Word, Excel and Access mainly for a membership database of a local club) ? I am not a power user so would appreciate advice on way to go

Again thank you.  If I only use word, excel and access in the Win environment and Mac OS for email and safari for internet do I need anti virus software . Ie my connection to the world is mac only and I use office pro only to ruin the club, newsletters, membership database etc. and of course anything I do there can drag/drop to the mac environ to email.  That's my understanding anyway.  Next will my existing .pst file copy directly into mac mail or do I have to runs translator  as I recall reading something about that ages ago when I started thinking Mac

  • CR with  VS 2010 on 64bits machine

    Hello,
    I really really need help!
Last year, i developed an application with visual studio 2010 and crystal report. I downloaded CRforNET40 beta 2 for 32 bit and every thing was good!
Now i want to test it on a 64 bit computer. so i install framework 4.0, and i installed  CRforNET40 32 bit, the same a did on a 32 bit machine. My application works but when i want to display report, it makes an error.
I tried to find on the sap website the CRforNET40 beta 2 for 64 bit but it had been remove by sap because the final version(production) has been release...
So i tried to install de new release Redist Installation (64 bit) [here|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/22083%3Futm_source%3Dfeedburner%26utm_medium%3Dfeed%26utm_campaign%3DFeed%253ACystlR%2528SAPWeblogs%253ACrystal+Reports%2529] but it doesnt work too...
Do you know what wrong i do..?
    thanks a lot!

    I'm still missing something here. In one of your previous posts you said;
We just buy another PC with win7 64bit machine.
    That computer should not then have CR 14 files on it at all - unless you installed the Beta all over again. Going on the assumption that you did re-install the Beta of CRVS2010, here is what you will have to do on your development computer;
    1) Remove the CR viewer and any CR references from your project. Save.
    2) See KB [1535325  - How to remove CRVS2010 Beta 2|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333533333335333333323335%7D.do]
    3) Check the GAC (c:windowsassemblies) for version 14 CR assemblies. If you still find any, you will have to remove them from GAC manually (search google)
    4) Install CRVS2010 SP2 from here:
    http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_2.exe
This will install files of version 13.x
    5) To deploy the runtime, see the CRVS2010 Reference page:

  • Oracle on an 64Bit machine

I have had no luck of getting Oracle Client 64bit or Oracle DatabaSE 11gr2 64bit to run on my Intel machine. Don't even try the 32bit version for it will not work with Visual Studio 2010. Does someone know of a procedure to get Oracle to run on a 64bit machine?

Does someone know of a procedure to get Oracle to run on a 64bit machine?Simply install and run. If that doesn't help, you will have to describe your problem.
If you read Installation document, for your specific version of Oracle, you may find that it's certified for 64-bit platforms. Sometimes only for 64-bit.

  • Found "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" when installing Window 7 64bit.

    Hello,
I just bought X220i with Core i-3, ram 8G. When I tried to install Window 7 64bit (Coz of Ram 8G), I got the message “A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing...”. I did browse the driver (using USB 3 Driver) but, it didn't work.
    Any idea to resolve?
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!

What media are you using to install win 7?  USB DVD drive, flash drive, ???  Downloaded ISO or Lenovo or Microsoft DVD?
One reason (of many) you can get this error message is bad media - corrupt download, bad burn, defective flash or optical media.  I've also heard of problems with USB ports causing this.  If you're using USB media, have you tried another port?
And as NINE asked, when in the process do you get this error?

  • FlashCS4 Wont install on Win7 64bit

Purchased Premium Suite - Trying to install on Win7 64bit
Neither FlashCS4 nor PshopCS4 will install
Gives a message stating simply cant install
Gives instructions to reboot and try again
    Which I did
    Still does not install
    Any ideas why not?
Any ideas on what to do now?
    Thanks for your attention

The serial number is what determines the version of PS CS4 that is installed on your machine.
It is impossible for PS CS4 to install the 64 bit version on Windows XP 32 bit machine.
If you have a 32 bit OS machine PS CS4 will only install the 32 bit software.
If you have a 64 bit OS machine PS CS4 will install both 32 bit and 64 bit software.
Don't forget to install the .exe file installer file as Admin. Run the Disk but choose to explore the Disk. Find the PS folder and open it and right click on the .exe file and Choose to run as Admin.
Turn off Windows defender prior to install. It is also better to turn off Adobe reader if it is installed (better yet, remove it) as it has caused PS CS4 install problems in the past for some unknown reason.
To avoid problems install PS CS4 on C drive.
Like I wrote above the serial number determines what is installed, not the Disk. You will know if you paid for the extended as it is almost 1 grand (the upgrade is cheaper).
If you feel that you purchased the extended version but only the standard version installs you need to contact Adobe. Tell them hey, here is my receipt for Extended but the serial number you gave me is standard. This has happened before but nobody ever posted back saying the problem was corrected.

If it's a white disk with 10.6.3, technically as many Mac's that came with 10.6.3 or below that can run 10.6.
    Legally, only one.
If it's a grey disk, then only the same model of Mac, as there are no hardware drivers for other Mac models on the grey disks.

  • Satellite A500 - Can I install Windows 7 64bit?

I first bought a Satellite A500 with 4Gb RAM just over 3 months ago with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium installed. At first I had the initial dramas with finding 64 bit drivers etc then it ran OK for a while. After about 2 & a half months I started getting BSODs with error message related to an nvidia .sys file. After a few weeks of this, updating latest drivers etc, and a number of unsuccessful attempts to diagnose the problem, it was occuring every time I used the laptop and to top it off the touchpad finally died as well. The company I purchased from gave me a replacement laptop.
The new system is also a Satellite A500 and although it has a different model number and faster CPU it is otherwise virtually identical to the the one I had previously with 4Gb RAM and the same nvidia graphics card. However for some reason Windows 7 32 bit has been pre-installed. I'm not sure why the company didn't install 64 bit. A call to the tech dept with the question resulted in the answer "better for you", meaning 32 bit is better for me.
My laptop is 64 bit capable. I know that when running the 32 bit version it only utilizes up to 3.2Gb of the installed RAM (my system says that 2.99Gb is useable - assume rest is allocated to graphics?) but I've read a post where the poster said that he/she found running 32 bit Win 7 was actually faster than the 64 bit version, even tho it wasn't utilizing all the RAM.
*Can someone tell me if I am better off running the 32 bit version of Windows 7 rather than the 64 bit version?*
*If I am better off with 64 bit, can I upgrade to 64 bit or do I have to do a complete reinstall?* No installation disks were supplied. Presume setup files are on hidden partition.
Although I haven't had any BSODs with this new laptop, I have had a couple of occurences where the system has frozen temporarily with the messge "Your display driver has stopped working" followed by a recovery. Is this a Toshiba, nvidia or Windows 7 thing? I've read quite a few other posts from people with similar laptops to mine who've had the same Toshiba/nvidia errors but no resolutions. *If there is going to be a problem with this graphics card, am I better off with 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7?*
Any advice would be muchly appreciated.

    Hi chrissy_h,
I have to say that there is no performance difference between 32bit and 64bit. The only important point is that 4GB RAM or more can only be used on 64bit system. As you wrote, 32bit OS can only handle up to 3.2GB but not more.
I think 32bit OS has a better compatibility to older applications so its preinstalled. Furthermore for the most applications 3.2GB RAM is enough and normally you dont need more.
Theoretically you can install Windows 7 64bit but dont forget that there is no upgrade option. You have to make a new and clean installation of the whole system.
Furthermore you need a Windows 7 64bit disk from Microsoft with license key. This can be purchased from every computer shop I think.
Last but not least check the Toshiba website. There you can find all available downloads for your notebook. :)
