Install time

Hey everybody,
I'm just wondering how long it takes to install Logic Studio on a MacBook. Wether I install it the day I get it or not will depend on the answer. Thanks!!!

I have the newest mac pro 2x 2,8Hhz quad... And at audio content 2, it has so far taken three-four hours. Isn´t this a little strange?? I have imported my acount from my powerbook with logic 7. Can this have anything to do with it?

  • I cannot install OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro. Installing time is in negative hours. (-2,147,483,648 hours)

At first, my macbook couldn't start up. It only displayed apple logo with a spinning wheel on grey screen for hours and hours. Then I decided to reinstall the OS. I tried so many times to install but the installing time said thousands of hours remaining to complete . I left the computer for days but  it didn't install OS. I tried that connecting the Ethernet cable as well but it didn't work.  Then I took out all my important files by connecting it to another macbook and formatted the hard drive. Then tried to install OS again.  But still didn't work. I checked on you tube and changed the hard drive cable as well. Still didn't work. I cannot install OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro. Installing time is in negative hours. (-2,147,483,648 hours). Seriously looking for help.

  • I'm trying to install Time Machine and Airport Update V 1.0 but installer

keeps returning error message: You cannot install Time Machine and AirPort Updates on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 or newer.
I am in fact running 10.5.6. Would the fact that this update was dated in March of 2008 have anything to do with it? I think it's the latest update for TM and Airport.
    Any suggestions?

Kappy, how'd you get so smart. On further investigation I discovered that I had already downloaded and installed that update. I will follow your advice in the future, not risking showing off as a fool.

  • Scheduled Install Time or AU Scheduled Install Time

    Hello Everybody:
Hoping to get some insight from the helpful technet community in regards to getting my SCCM up and working.  I have been labbing this up for close to 2 weeks and still have yet to get my updates pushing to my agents/servers on a scheduled install with
a reboot.  I have created device collections based on my OUs in AD.  Then created the appropriate ADRs which then these auto created the deployment packages, and software update groups alike.  Under my SUP shows two groups I created both deployed,
both downloaded and 100% compliant.  Looks great.  However on my schedule install on the ADR is simply never installs updates.  After tons of reading I figured it was a setting with my GPO which I have been toying with as I had a WSUS deployment
in my lab prior.  Currently the only GPOs applied and confirmed via RSOP are
-Configure Automatic Update - Auto download and schedule the install 2am
-Allow signed updates from an intranet microsoft update service location
**The specify intranet microsoft update service location is enabled, by local group policy, courtesy of SCCM
However still not working.  I am seeing this in the windowsupdatelog on the downstream agents.

AU Setting AU scheduled install time to 2014-01-19 08:00:00
I am seeing conflicting info in this log, I see the GPO applying a AU scheduled install time for 8am, which I have NO idea where that is coming from.   My evaluation schedule is set to run every Sunday at 1am, with deployment schedule
ASAP on both settings with user experience deadline behavior check boxes both checked and commit changes at deadline checked.
Can anyone let me know what I am missing.  I also created a maintenance windows on the device collections for 11pm - 5am every Sunday so the updates could be applied.  I am just so confused and my google results have just ran thin.
Any help would be greattttly appreciated.

I posted the above screenshot in regards to the post from Jorgen ( Have you configured a deadline?
The bottom line all I am trying to do is get it working, simple as that.  I was told that configuration manager can replace WSUS and I have been working to get it working smoothly for days.  What mechanism then controls the WU Client Agent that you
are referring to.  Sorry for all the questions, just trying my hardest to get the ADRs to work as they should.

  • Solaris 8 x86 doesn't ask for default route at install time

The Solaris 8 installation program doesn't ask what the machine's default route should be. This means that when you configure DNS servers later on that aren't on the same subnet as the machine you get error messages.
    Anyone know a work around?

Re: Solaris 8 x86 doesn't ask for default route at install time
    I had the same problem.
I was wondering why something so essential is missing for the GUI Install, it would be possilbe a patch to correct this?, instead of configuring nsswitch, and another files.
The easier the install and admin, more users solaris will have on Intel Platform.
    P.D. Sorry for my english.

  • After installing Time Capsule internet connection slow

Since I installed Time Capsule on my Mac, my internet connection started acting up. The web browsing is VERY SLOW, and applications that are web-based no longer work properly. For instance, I have an EyeFi Wireless Explore SD card and the related EyeFi Manager software that allows me to wirelessly transfer my photos on the eyefi card to the eyefi website, as well as my photo service (Kodak Gallery or Flickr) and also transfers the photos to my Mac. Before I set up my Time Capsule, the eyefi system worked flawlessly. Now the uploads hang up and do not complete. I also have very slow progress trying to use my webmail, or loading webpages in general. I use the Safari browser.
My Time Capsule is set up as a separate wireless network, so I access the internet thru my original home wireless network. Is anyone having the same issues after installing Time Capsule, and does anyone have a solution?

Try doing a Safe Mode reboot by holding down the Shift key when you hear the start-up tone. When the progress bar appears you can release the key. A Safe Reboot will clear some of the caches, it's possible one became corrupt. If that doesn't work do both a SMC and PRAM reset, you may need to do each 2-3x.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Cannot locate lost work or install time machine

Is the only way to retrieve "lost" information via time machine? If not, please let me know how, and if so I cannot install time machine on my computer as it keeps coming up saying "Airport Utility cannot find a wireless device installed"-do I need another device to keep this information and cannot just keep it on the hard drive?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions:
If by "lost" you mean deleted, there is no way to recover the data, especially if other files have been created since the original was deleted. The area on the HD has been overwritten.
TM does not backup to a wireless device unless that wireless device is TimeCapsule

You need an external HardDrive that is 3 to 4 times as large as your internal drive connected directly to your computer.

  • Many problems after installing Time Capsule

I am not sure if this is the correct forum. I posted it on the iCloud forum, but think it belongs here. I wasn't able to move it.
    Here is my story:
    Where do I start!
    MacBook Pro ~2009
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
About the time I installed Time capsule, I started to have the following problem. At fist, i thought the problem as iCloud.
    Here is my problem:
    1. Can't get iCloud email on my Mac  [I can ob my iPhone 4S]
    2. I keep getting an error accessing any website: Safari can't verify the identity of the website... This includes Apple.com
    3. In my Key Chain, the passwords for Me.com are long apparently random numbers.
    4. I can't access any iCloud email from my iCloud that was associated with my ME account. I hahe a secondiCloud account which appears fibe.
    5. I can't even open iCloud on Safari. As soon as iCloud shows up on the screen, It says that iCloud had unexpectidly stopped. When i hit the reload option, the error message returns... over and over.
    6. When i tried to opem iCloud on Google Chrome, I get a HUGE error message on a red page saying "The server's certificate is no valid!"
There are probably more symptoms that occured, but I am so frustrated I may have forgotten.
Oh yeaf, a week ago I got a new Apple Time Capsile 2T
    Maybe it's not iCloud?!?
EDIT: THis did not happen when I first got the TIme Capsule. It started 2 days ago. I also got a message about setting up Back To My Mac, but I only have one Mac [I don't mean that having multiple Macs is an asperation, because I am thourily pleased having "just one Mac", and an iPhone 4S and an iPad 3; That's quite a blessing!]
    MacBook Pro, iOS 5.1.1

Easy like beauty when it comes to Networking is in the eye of the beholder.
Your issue is probably double NAT.. the TC should have thrown up warning messages.
    On lion
Step one.. install 5.6 utility. And use that exclusively.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
It will be familiar if you used any previous version of airport utility.
Open the manual setup.. go to Internet tab.. go to connection sharing at the bottom..
The TC must be set to off bridge mode. If not, select that and update the TC.
Now everything is going to totally mess up.. don't worry.. start again by rebooting the entire network.. ie everything off.. not sleep.. not semi-consious.. off. Restart in order.. with 2 min wait.. Modem.. router.. TC.. other network rubbish.. (if you have switch and the like).. clients.
Now try again with emails etc.
    I am hopeful.

  • I installed time machine but I can't find it in system preferences?

I installed time machine but I can't find it in system preferences? How do I access it? Light is green but is it backing up?

    ???
You installed Time Machine or Time Capsule? Time Machine is part of Leopard (OS X 10.5.x). If you are referring to Time Capsule, you set it up via AirPort Utility. You should have the install disk. If you are talking about Time Machine, can you confirm you have OS X 10.5.x? Your signature indicates you only have Tiger (OS X 10.4.11). If that is correct, you need to upgrade to Leopard.

  • I just installed Time Capsule on my Mac and it works good.  It connected to my devices, like, Apple TV, Laptop and Ipad2.  I just noticed lately that the Wi-Fi on the Ipad keeps on connecting to my former router, 2wire109.  My set up was based on Apple's.

I just installed Time Machine as a router and as a back up and all my gadgets like, Mac, Apple TV, IPad and Laptop connected right away after setting up the TC.  I followed Apple's instructions like, connecting the Ethernet cable from the old router to the TC's Ethernet WAN.  Now, this is the problem, I just found out lately that my IPad kept on connecting to my old router, the 2wire109.  Anybody?  I need your help please to correct the problem.  I am actually not famililiar with these stuffs yet.  Thank you

Settings > Wifi > select the 2wire109, click the blue arrow > Forget this Network.

  • Forgot partition after installing time capsule.

I installed Time Capsule on my airport.
I did not realize that I had to make a partition first, as it is now using my full 2 TB.
What should I do now as I only want 500GB to use for Time Capsule and the rest as hard disk.
    Please advice next steps.
    Thanks in advance

    Guy,
Here is a link on how to limit the size of your TM backup.

This may be a better option than creating a disk image for your data.
I think I'll try this myself with my TM backup.

I'm a first timer on this (or any) help site. I just installed Time Capsule.  The first backup looks like it will take two days at the present speed.  Can I close MacBook Pro and have first back up continue, and can I unplug tomorrow and plug in at work without affecting the backup?

    Hi Oneinspirit,
Time Machine backups can be paused by choosing "Stop Backing Up" from the Time Machine icon on the right hand side of your menu bar ( ). Once you're ready to resume the backup, you can choose "Back Up Now" from the same icon.
Start a backup: Click the Time Machine icon  in the menu bar, then choose Back Up Now.
Pause a backup: Click the Time Machine icon  in the menu bar, then choose Stop Backing Up.
OS X Yosemite: Start, pause, and resume a Time Machine backup

  • I can't see my network Printers when i installed Time Capsule

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I had a wireless network using my NetGear router so i can share internet and two network printers. The network printers are connected to the router using ethernet wires. Now that i installed Time Capsule i can't get the Network Printer to print.

I did what you said, made sure that both network printers where turned on connected to TC and ready to print, then i opened my system Preference, Print & Fax, i removed my two printers that where there before and working, then hit the plus sign, add printer, here's what's different, my MacBook Pro, under AppleTalk and one of my printers can up and it now works but the other didn't. So on my iMac i tried the same thing but no printer showed up under AppleTalk, i did find the two printers under "Default" and Bonjour was under "kind" i said install to both and it did. I just tried printing to both printers and now i have two bouncing printer icons on my doc with a massage " Attempting to connect to host 192.168.1.10" for one of the printers and the second "Attempting to connect to host XRX92CABD.local." i'm starting to think that i didn't set up the TC correctly or i have some option in TC setup wrong.
