Install [-x nodataset] [brand-specific args]

Question

i had tried to install solaris 8 zone from the flash archive, but it always give me this error :-
bash-3.00# zoneadm -z zone1 install -x nodataset -d /export/home/ftpuser/sola

-x: illegal option -- d
usage: install [-x nodataset] [brand-specific args]
Install the configuration on to the system. The -x nodataset option
can be used to prevent the creation of a new ZFS file system for the
zone (assuming the zonepath is within a ZFS file system).
All other arguments are passed to the brand installation function;
see brand(4) for more information.

can anyone help me on this?, what does it mean by the dataset?

Hi Amme,
While installing branded Zones you need to follow a particular step:
zoneadm -z <zone name> install <If you want to keep the original configuration as it is on the system from which you have taken flar then use option -p and if you want to make changed to the configuration of the branded zone use option -u here> -a <path of the flar>
So the command would look like :
zoneadm -z zone1 install -p/-u -a <flar path>
Make sure you use -t option with template name with create subcommand while configuring branded zone. So the command would be like this:
zonezfg -z zone1
zone1 >> create -t SUNWsolaris8 (for Solaris 8 zone)
