Installating JUnit extension

I have just spent the whole morning trying to install the JUnit extension into JDev 10.1.3.1. Most of that time was spent trying to find where to get the extension, when you can't use check for updates...
OK so now I have the extension downloaded and use Check for Updates on the local file, it tells me that it can't install it because it depends on some other extension which I don't have installed. But it doesn't tell me which extension ...
How do I find out dependencies for extensions?
I'm on the point of giving up and using Eclipse like everyone else on my project ...

Shay,
I followed your fix and be able to continue installing it.
However, after restarting I saw the extension has error
D:\Oracle\jdevstudio10133\jdev\extensions\junit_doc_for_java.jar
Severe(0,0): file:/D:/Oracle/jdevstudio10133/jdev/extensions/junit_doc_for_java.jar does not contain an extension manifest.
D:\Oracle\jdevstudio10133\jdev\extensions\oracle.jdeveloper.junit.10.1.3.jar
Severe(6,80): Missing required attribute 'version'
D:\Oracle\jdevstudio10133\jdev\extensions\junit_doc_for_j2ee.jar
Severe(0,0): file:/D:/Oracle/jdevstudio10133/jdev/extensions/junit_doc_for_j2ee.jar does not contain an extension manifest.
D:\Oracle\jdevstudio10133\ is where I place my jDev.
Please let me know how to fix it

  • Installing JUnit in Jdeveloper 10g 10.1.3.1

Please help me to install JUnit in JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3.1. I have searched in the site they suggested me to click on 'check for updates' menu option. But if click on check for updates option after click next on welcome page I have selected 'search update centers' radio button and then have clicked on add button which asking to enter Name and Location. But I am not understanding what enter there. I have tried by entering OTN, http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/index.html. I have got any results.
    Please help awaiting for reply

    Hi,
You don't need to add anything. If you have a functional internet connection that JDeveloper can use, then you will already be able to see Oracle's official update centers in the list (you should see "Official Oracle Extensions and Updates" as the first item).
If you're having trouble with internet connectivity from JDeveloper, check out the Web Browser and Proxy page in Preferences and make sure any proxy settings you require to contact the internet are configured properly.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Adding JUnit Extension to 10.1.3

I'm looking for a way to add the JUnit extension to JDeveloper 10.1.3 production release (not EA) while I don't have direct internet access from my terminal.
I read this forum posting: Re: adding JUnit extension to 10.1.3EA
and it seemed to address the issue for 10.1.3 EA, but I tried to add the extension by both suggested methods in the article.
When trying to add the extension using the local check for updates option, I got this error: "Required Updates Not Installed: The JUnit Integration update in this bundle requires one or more extensions that are not currently installed."
When extracting the extension zip file into the jdev/extensions directory, I received this error: "Severe: No class def found for addin oracle.jdevimpl.wizard.junit.JUnitAddin"
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

You'll need to download the JUnit extension for the production version (you can't use the one from EA), and then just point the check for update to the zip file.

  • JDev 10.1.2 - JUnit Extension Does not work

When migrating from JDev 9.0.5.2 to 10.1.2 I get an error on startup the indicates that the JUnit extension is not working:
Error: <Line 2, Column 71>: XML-24538: (Error) Can not find definition for element 'extensions'
Converting JDeveloper 9.0.5 extension manifest to 10.1.2

Error: <Line 22, Column 14>: XML-24521: (Error) Element not completed: 'extensions'

I am actually working with JDev10.1.2 and I recently created a new Extension. Since then, when I load jdev I get the error
    "C:\oracle10bis\jdev\lib\ext\DBExtension.jar!\meta-inf\jdev-ext.xml
Error: <Line 2, Column 71>: XML-24538: (Error) Can not find definition for element 'extensions'
Converting JDeveloper 9.0.5 extension manifest to 10.1.2"
I followed your advice, downloaded and installed the JUnit component, but the error is still present. Moreover, if i try using the "Check for updates" functionality, I always get:
    "Unable to connect to OTN
    Details: Connection timeout: connect"
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

  • I am trying to install an extension that requires FF 4.0. I downloaded 4.0 yet the extentsion says I still have 3.6.16 when trying to install.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF several times. When I try to install the extension (that requires FF 4.0), I get a pop-up that says I am still using an older version of FF and asks if I want to upgrade. When I click on "About Firefox", it says I have 4.0. In February, I downloaded FF Beta which I understand could be a problem. I also have read that you need to manually delete Beta files which I have done. I did a system search to see if any Beta files exist and no further files were found. I just want to make sure FF 4.0 is installed and be able to install the FGS extension.

Thank you, cor-el, for your reply. I clicked on the link you provided, and it took me to Create a New Article. I'm assuming an article already exists for this. Can you instruct me on how to view this article. This is the first time I have ever had to refer to Mozilla Help. I have tried to do this on my own, but am having difficulty. Thanks for your help.

  • How can I install an extension using Extension Manager CC?

    I have a mac running OSX 10.9.4.
    I have Photoshop CC 2014.1.0 / 20140730.r.148 x64
I have Extension Manager CC 7.2.1.6
According to "Creative Cloud" manager,  my versions of software are up to date.
I tried installing three different extensions.  None of them load. When I double click on the extension file, it launches Extension Manager CC, but it appears that Extension Manager does not recognize that I have other Adobe products installed.  E.g., "Failed to install the extension 'XYZ.' Please make sure the manifest.xml of this extension is valid and the Extension Manager recognizes at least one product which the extension supports."  I get variations on this message, but the common thread seems to be "Extension Manager recognizes at least one product which the extension supports."
When I choose "Manage Extensions" from the Help menu in Photoshop, it just launches "Creative Cloud" manager, which tells me all of the software is up to date.  (The first time that I tried this, it re-installed Extension Manager CC). Nothing else happens -- e.g., it does not launch Extension Manager.
Any suggestions?  How do I get Extension Manager CC to recognize that I have Photoshop CC installed?

One more thing -- I have seen references in postings to an "Extension Panel" under the "Window" menu.  I do not see that item in Photoshop CC.  (There is "Browse Extensions Online," which allows me to find more things that I can't load).

  • How can I install an extension when it conflicts with an existing one that doesn't appear in the list of extensions?

I'm trying to install Guide Guide for Photoshop CS 2014 using the Adobe Extension Manager CC but when clicking on the 3.1.2-guideguide.zxp I recieve the following error, "This extension cannot be installed, since it conflicts with a existing one. To install this extension, please remove the extension 'GuideGuide' which has been installed in ", then install again."  Note that there is some code breaking in there where ", is.  When I open Adobe Extension Manager CC there are no extensions listed.  None under any of the products to the left.  I can't uninstall it if it's not listed.
After reviewing the forums I have gone into my %appdata%\Roaming\Adobe\ folder and removed all folders for previous versions of Adobe Extension Manager.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.  Thank you for your time.

Please delete "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Configuration\DB\ExMan.db" then retry. Note that "C:\ProgramData" is hidden by default. You can input C:\ProgramData in the address bar of Windows Explorer then press "Enter" key to go into this folder.

  • Cannot Install Safari Extensions

    Greetings,
Trying to install an extension on my Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25.1)
An extension installed successfully, but after Safari restart its all gone.
Does not matter which extension and how many,
After install I can see extensions in Safari Preferences window, but not after a restart.
I can see newly installed extensions in ~/Library/Safari/Extensions/ folder, the folder has correct permissions and owner.
Even though there are extensions in ~/Library/Safari/Extensions/ , Safari does not "sees" it after a restart.
It seems like this problem is specific to my PC, as I have checked it with other people - they don't experience it.
    Please help !

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to search for an item named "Safari Extensions List". If found, delete it. Quit Keychain Access.
    Quit and relaunch Safari.

  • I want to install and extension globally

I am an it admin and want to install an extension globally, but placing the .xpi file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\browser\extensions\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugins and restarting the browser does not prompt to install the plugin. I noticed that the cli tags have been depreciated so i did not give that a shot. The computers are windows 7 64 bit and firefox version is 35.

    See:

Did you rename the xpi file to the ID ({id}.xpi or email.xpi) as defined via the install.rdf file?

  • Can't install a extension

Hi, guys. I'm trying to install an important extension on Adobe Extension Manager CS3.
But, whenever I try to install a extension, a window pops up claiming that I need "Flash 6 or higher", yet, I do indeed have Adobe Flash CS3.
It's a portable version, so it's Adobe Flash CS3 Portable. Since it's portable, would that be causing any problems? Please help.
    Thanks.

I dessactivated the anti-virus extensions and it's still not working.

  • Problem in installing an extension

Every time I try to install an extension in Safari (I'm using the latest version, the 7.0) I get the following message:
"Safari could not install this extension. An error occurred while installing the extension"
Does anyone know what is happening or how can I solve this?

Might be corrupted extensions preferences.  (.plist)
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Safari/Extensions/Extensions.plist
Click Go then move the Extensions.plist file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try installing an extension.

  • Installing FW extensions

    Hi all,
I have downloaded 2 extensions. Exchange Manager will not install them claiming I am not logged on as an administrator when in fact I am. Any suggestions
    Neil

Try right-clicking the Extension Manager.exe and then selecting Run as Administrator.  It should then be able to install the extension.  Unfortunately, EM doesn't ask for elevated privileges when installing an extension into a Program Files directory, which is pretty unbelieveable, given that Vista launched almost 5 years ago.  Or you can just turn User Account Control off.
