Installation error at CHECK DDIC PASSWORD

Hi,
I am installation SAP ECC on MSCS. my installation till enqueue replication server went well but when i install the CI instace on node A it throws me out at CHECK PASSWORD STEP. the log is below please suggest.

Hi Everyone,
The error is related to Kernel, Just get rid of all this and try updating the kernel to the latest one.
The db error is not seen again at the step where the installation was stopped.
Also, this error is at the step of updtaing sapview.tsk when you use wrong kernel & this get conflicted to the DB which is of not the version to be. So simple if your DBload step is in sucess & kernel is outdated sync to the lates one.
Then reatart the Sapmmc, login with SAP*- 06071992 & DDIC - 19920706, hope u know the rest:>

iam installing netweaver 2004s BI .The installation is stuck on phase 27 of 95 " check ddic password " .
i have tried with the master password as well as ddic standard password ,but still it is not continuing.

While doing the system copy I am getting the similar error like "Test logon to SAP system <sid> failed. Make sure that the user DDIC exists and that the password of the user DDIC is correct". I tried to login to the system with the users DDIC and SAP* but it is giving the error "DB-error - 0" in the bottom of the screen.
I have included the parameter login/no_login_sapstar=0 in the instance profile and restarted the instance. Now I am able to login to all the clients with SAP* user id with the password 'pass' and changed the password of the user DDIC to its default. I tried to login to the system, but still the same error. I tried to continue the installation but still it is showing the same error message "Test logon to SAP system <sid> failed. Make sure that the user DDIC exists and that the password of the user DDIC is correct".
Could you please suggest me the solution for this issue.

Installation stop at check DDIC password.

Hello everybody,
I am trying to install the IDES SR3 on windows (x64) and oracle.
but my installation is stop on the Check DDIC password phase.
I can log on using the user name DDIC and password 19920607.
So please suggest me How to solve the problem and continu
with the installation.

NOw I have strange problem, I am able to log on frist time by using the standard DDIC password,
but after that I am unable to Logon.
Second thing, SAP MMC is shown in green color, when I am trying to log on by SAP logon pad
it does not show the SAP logon screen. I have been wait from last 30 Min
but till I am not get the SAP logon screen
At my PC two IP one for Loopback adpater second is the network IP
I am trying by using both but till not get sap logon screen
Also when I check the SAP MMC workprocess continuosly read the table REPORTEXT.
Please suggest me How to get the sap logon screen?

BI 7.0 Installed but errored out during DDIC password check !!!!!!!

i installed nw04s system with AS ABAPBI JAVAEP+EPC on MS SQL server ....its IDES software btw...
everything went fine till 'Import ABAP' and even 'Running ABAP Reports' proces.... but while running the process 'Check DDIC Password', it popped a window with OK and Cancel saying that
test logon to SAP system SID failed .Make sure that the system is started that the user DDIC exists and the password of user DDCI is correct
I dont udnerstand why it would fail to logon to DDIC on client 000.... becoz i set the master password and SAPInst should remember the password in some encrypted form and use the same for logging .!!!!
anyways after this error, i started SAPMMC and logged into the system and tried DDIC in 000, 001 with master password and default password (19920706) as well with no luck...but worked fine in client 800 with my master password....
What should i do now ? any suggestions would be highly appreciated....

Actually SAPInst is trying to connect to client 001 with DDIC...so I deleted SAP* from 001 client in sqlplus and restarted the server and tried logging with ddic in 001 with my master password, PASS, pass, and even with 06071992 with no luck...
any other suggestions ?

"System copy stops in "check DDIC password" step

We performed a combined upgrade/unicode conversion to ECC5.0 Non-Unicode to ECC 6.0 Unicode ( Windows 2003 Server, Oracle 10gR2 ).
But at the end of import ( using R3load tool ), the import stops at "check DDIC password" step with error message :
"Test logon to SAP System D12 failed.
SOLUTION: Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct."
We checked the system, it's online , and the user DDIC exists. But we could not logon using sapgui. it gives message :
"Programm SAPMS380 not found"

Hi,
The possible problem for the DDIC user could be, once the data imported the password of the DDIC got reset to older password as in ECC5, try login the system with sap* user and reset the password of DDIC, then login as DDIC user and set the password permannetly and retry the activity.
If sap* also shows with same problem try changing the password of sap* from DB level by executing the query(you can find solutions for this in SDN forum threads, check them). or try deleting the user sap* and recreate where user gets creted wiuth default pasword as "PASS" and logon and reset the user DDIC.

"Check DDIC password" error

when i was presented with the screen of DDIC password, i wrote the wrong one, so i now i have a mess with my passwords.
I can access to the 000 client with SAP* and DDIC, the both of them are reseted to the default passwords, but i can't log on to the 001 client, the both users (SAP* and DDIC) are locked, so i can't enter the sistem to reset them.
Anyway, now i restart the installation and have this error:
"Test logon to SAP System ALH failed.
Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct."
The sistem is running, both cients are in green!
I tried to run the reports RSWBOINS and RADDBDIF as some guys on thi forum suggested, but no luck
Any ideas??

Go to database level and reset the password for SAP* for client 001
update <DB schema>.USR02 set UFLAG = 0 where MANDT = <client number> and BNAME = u2018SAP*u2019;
With the above query you can unlock SAP* and if you know the password you are able to logon to that client.
if still you do not able to logon to that client
delete the User SAP* with below query
delete from <DB schema>.USR02 where bname like 'SAP*' and MANDT like '001'
than you can able to logon to that client with SAP* and use default password "pass".
after that you can change the password for DDIC from SU01.

i had successfully installed apache in my XP pc.and i nearly finished with tomcat..but after i editted the httpd.conf and run the syntax checking i got this.i already check the adjustments i made to all the files..it was exactly like the manual i got from http://www.johnturner.com/howto/winxp-howto.html

IDES installation problem with DDIC password

Hello everybody,
After hours of searching and trying..
I have here a problem during a local installation of IDES ECC 6.0 on Windows Server 2008 with MAXDB. The installation stops in phase 27 of 29 u201Ccheck DDIC passwordu201D - test logon to SAP system failed, with the error message FRF-00007 "Unable to open RFC connection" in sapinst.
The MMC shows in the process list that the following processes stands oon "green": igswd, mag_Server and disp+work are running. The message of servers connection is OK, acts dialogue queue time is 0.00 sec.
I have already searched the forum, but I am not able to logon as user SAP* with u201C060. u2026u201D or as user DDIC with the password u201C199. u2026u201D to change the DDIC password to my password set during the installation (transaction -S000 / SU01). The login fails over the MMC as well as over the SAP GUI 7.10. I have tried this on the client 000, 001 and 800. The error message is u201CSAP Logon Failed - connection closed without message (CM_NO_DATA_RECEIVEDu201D). The SAP GUI gets down with "Work process restartet, session terminated".
What can help to solve the problem? Can it be a problem with the ms loop adaptor? Which static address IP must assign to the loop adaptor? Did i have to update the kernel of the data bank or is this not necessary? Can the information from dev_w help?

The kernel is not patched. I just (try) to install the kernel files from the sap market place
IDES download destination. The install kernel file was: 51033508_7 - NW7 SR3 Kernel 7.00 for Windows / LNX X86_X64. I got an update / upgrade file, which is called: 51033508_8 - NW7 SR3 Kernel .... Upg ABAP.
Can anybody give me an adwise by reading those logfiles? Is the file ok for updating the kernel?
How do I upgrade the kernel by having no .exe - file? May the installation go on after patching the kernel?

DDIC Password fails in middle of Solution Manager Installation

I'm performing a new install of Solution Manager 7.0 (4.0) on HPUX IA64 11.23. This is a brand new Landscape. The installation has halted at phase 29/47 "Check DDIC password", and reports the error:
Test login to SAP System SMA failed.
SOLUTION: Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct.
From the SAPGUI 7.10., I was unable to login as DDIC or SAP. I used the master passwords given in the install. I also tried the default passwords as mention in another thread password '19920706' for DDIC and '06071992' for SAP.
I was able to login with SAP* password PASS after adding login/no_automatic_user_sapstar=0
to the default profile and restarting SAP, but was unable to change the DDIC password because change and transport system not configured.
How do I get past this point in the installation process?

This problem is now resolved. The problems of:
1) The "Check DDIC password" phase of sapinst of SM 7.0 was failing with DB-Error 0.
Fix: Install latest kernel patch. Problem was fixed with NW 7.0 kernel patch 133. I installed kernel patch 159. The kernel patch had to be installed via the old method of using SAPCAR to untar the files, backup kernel dir, shutdown sap, and copy files over to kernel dir. See note 19466.
2) The Warning messages

Solution Manager 4.0 Installation Error

am doing the Solution Manager 40 installation on AIX as root.
FYI: We are using central SLD.
During the installation in phase 30 "check DDIC password"
Sapinst stops with the following error.

SAP BW Installation Error - Please Help

Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to install SAP SEM BW 7.00 in one of the servers that we have. During installation, In the Installation Master I'm selecting the central system from the following

I'm able to select the settings and the installation proceeds as usual, however during the 29th phase of the installation, "Check DDIC Password" fails and an error message is thrown which says
"Test Logon to SAP system BW1 Failed. Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct."
Initially I though I have to manually start the instance in SAP MMC and started it, even then it gives the same error message, then I doubted that I might have entered the password incorrectly during initial setup, so I formatted the system and started installation again, no use again, it is giving the same error message.
I'm not sure what could possibly be wrong.
I would really appreciate if someone could help with with this issue. looking forward to hear some possible solutions.

Hello Warren,
I tried to login and change the ddic password, it is not allowing me to login. It says username or password is incorrect.
In client 001, it says "too many failed attempts and password logon no longer possible, even though that was the first time that I tried to login through GUI"
I assume that it gives this error because the installation has tried to check ddic password and failed. Let me know if there is anything else that I can do to solve this issue.

DDIC pwd for 001 is not same as 001,Will that be a problem ? But the Extraction requests for DDIC 000 client password. Are you sure UME comes into this scenario ?

Yes the hostname is SAPRBSBD-01.I am able telnet the IP 3300 and it works fine. FQDN SAPRBSBD-01.chen.local. The smicm service entries are with SAPRBSBD-01 but not with FQDN. Changing it to FQDN will help us to resolve the issue. Please suggest me.
Also the error refers to some RFC connection, any idea on that.
