Installation of BOBI.

Hi,
Our Company has decided to implement BOBI.
Currently we are on ERP6 EHP4 with Abab stack only.
Since BOBI will require the java stack  but in EHP4 add-in installation is not possible.
So should we install a new system with abap + java stack upgrade to EHP4 then install BOBI.
I am confused ,whether we will have to the configuration again for system.( All data, zreports, interface)
Please advice how we can install BOBI on our current landscape.
Regards
Abhishek.

Hi,
While installating JAVA system ,will it be seperate ERP system with its own DB
NO its not an ERP system , its a j2ee engine only and will be accesible using web browser not SAP GUI.
has to be connected using JCO
If you want to setup connectivity between Java engine and ERP (Existing) , yes Jco can be used.
Will the sizing of this system(JAVA) be similar to ABAB stack ERP system.?
No its different , for sizing of java engine you can refer http://service.sap.com/sizing
As an Idea DB size will be between 10-20 GB only .

  • CAnnot get HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One to install

Have attempted to install numerous ways the HP Officejet All-in-One 7210, using both HP sent disc for WIN7, Download from HP and Download from Microsoft.  Have even done a regedit of all 'HP' and fresh restart.  This printer worked fine under WIN XP Pro but now with a fresh install of WIN7.  It runs through the install but won't print.  In checking the properties of the Printer it shows model #unavailable, scanner unavailable and under driver shows nothing.  Can someone help?
    This question was solved.

How is the printer connected - USB or wired LAN?  I would suggest you look in the CD for a util\ccc directory.  In this directory should be a series of batch files, uninstall_L1.bat through uninstall_L4.bat.  Disconnect the printer, then  run the uninstall_L1, then uninstall_L2 and uninstall_L3 files.  Next run the install program and do not connect the printer until prompted to by the installer.

  • Labview 7.1 won't run under Windows 7

    Hello -
I recently upgraded my system to Windows 7 (Ultimate, x64).  Unfortunately, when I now attempt to run Labview 7.1 on this machine I get an error saying the following:
The requested feature is unavailable on "localhost".
I am not sure of where to go from here.  The built in compatibility mode (running it as if it were XP SP3, for example) produces the same result.  Searching on this forum I found someone with the same message after installation errors (dealing with registry privileges) but I saw no such errors during what was an uneventful, clean install.  One thing I am wondering about (although it does not seem to be an issue with any other program that I have) is I happened to notice that Windows 7 seemingly makes all subdirectories under "Program Files" (Program Files (x86) in this case) read-only.  I turned this off for the National Instruments subdirectory and all of its subdirectories, with no change.  I also attempted the "fix" for registry privileges (in the aforementioned post on here) with no luck.
Has anyone else seen this?  It'd be nice if it gave me a more detailed message but this seems to be all of the information available with this error.
    Thanks,
    Brett

Hmm, you've just about stumped me.  If this is on a laptop, please try disabling the WIFI card so only one network adapter is present (there are activation issues in later versions related to this).  Are you using the default LabVIEW.INI file or are you migrating your settings from a previous install?
Also, do you have any drivers installed?  If so, from what Driver CD are you installing them from (month/year)?
The system I tested LV 7.1 on is a virtual machine with Windows 7 Professional x64.  I'm not sure I know many more "tricks" to try in order to get this to work, but I am not sure this is even an issue related to Windows 7.  The other thread documents this issue on a Windows 2000 system.  Once engaged by one of the NI Applications Engineers, you might try installing LabVIEW 7.1 from another copy of the distribution/installer.

  • BOBI 4.1 SP2 installation with oracle database

    HI,
In our landscape, we have installed installed oracle 11g and we have installed BOBI 4.1 with oracle system user ID for both CMS and Audit. We havent create any separate schema for CMS and Audit database. It was runninf fine but recently we are facing lot of DB issues. Can anyone please help me to conclude whether we have to create separate schema for CMS and Audit or  we can user oracle system user ID for both CMS and Audit. Anyone help is highly appreciated. And also please suggest if we use the oracle system ID, whether we will face any issues in future or impacts.....
    Thanking you in anticipation.
    Obinna

    Hi,
technically it works with the System schemas. But this is far away from Best Practices!
The standart is to create a own User/Schema for the CMS DB and the Audit DB. The User gets full privileges on his Schema and you are fine.

  • Installation problem - JDK 6 on Ubuntu 9.04

Hello, I'm an old programmer (60+!) but new to Unix/Java/OE. I've bought 'Teach yourself Java 6 in 21 days', which recommends using the Java Development Kit for initial learning. Following the instructions on the Sun site, I downloaded the file 'jdk-6u13-nb-6_5_1-linux-ml.sh' onto my ubuntu 9.04 system and installed it. The install completed, but gave some error messages, viz:

    Corrected typo in Subject

I just recently installed the new jdk1.6.0_14 via the .bin file provided on the java.sun.com site. Pretty straight forward..
just placed the .bin file in a comfortable spot and ran /bin/sh on it.
From there I just needed to add its path enviroment script's PATH declaration.
To hook it up to firefox, just create the "plugin" folder for .mozilla (i.e. ~/.mozilla/plugin)
    then create a symbolic link to libjavaplugin_oji.so (i.e. ln -s .../jdk1.6.0_14/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so ~/.mozilla/plugin/),
then rename the link to "javaplugin.so" in the ~/.mozilla/plugin directory. (something I had to do for Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope and Firefox 3, says the Ubuntu forums)
By the way Ubuntu 9.04 comes with jdk1.6.0_13 if you install it from the repositories via sabre150's methods so you're better off doing it his way ;).

  • Installation Server Slow on Windows Server 2008 R2

Previously I had two identical servers setup to service SAPGui installs in our corporate office.  Both were configured for SAPGui 7.20 Patch 3 and the servers were Windows Server 2003 SP2.
Recently one of these servers was replaced with a newer/faster with more memory Windows Server 2008 R2 box.
I immediately noticed installs to front ends were taking longer when run off the 2008 system.  Today I timed installs to two identical front end Win XP computers.
    Server 2003 SP2 installed in 7 minutes.
    Server 2008 R2 installed in 23 minutes.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Bob H

I have no doubt that the problem in the OS localization.
But, taking into account some facts:
World population is estimated to number 7.126 billion people.
Anglosphere is about 740 million people.
I have not found information about the supported OS languages.
I'm worried about losing my non-English data.
I am for the licensed software, but a trial and registered OS has the same functionality, and displays messages/data in the same way.
I doubt that the OS registration will allow installer to properly finish and even display the error correctly. (Java strings is UTF-based, so, developers should set correct code page. Probably, because system code page can be different with console code page (cp866 for Russian). Current codepage could be view by executing "chcp" in console).
In any case Enterprise-class product should operate correctly on each supported systems, or inform about problems before.

    Hi,

  • HP Printer Software Installation will not complete

I have an HP Officejet 8500 wireless bought in late 2011.  Never an issue until a recent new printer added to the computer seems to have changed an unknown setting and now printer or computer will not recognize or initiate a wireless print request.  Have tried all firmware updates, software updates, etc.  Printer is perfectly connected to wireless network established by router.  Any wireless print request from my MacBook is met with a "printer offline" description and sits in printer que.  Printer works(ed) fine when connected via USB to MacBook.
Thought to uninstall/reinstall printer software hoping to reachieve initial set up defaults which have been working well prior to addition of new printer to computer.
Uninstalled HP software; result was normal.  Inserted original software CD and tried to re-install software; result was as expected until step 5.  Comments now read Installing HP Scan, Install was successful.  Software has stalled on "5 items remaining" and will not move on to "4 items remaining" as next step.
HP Uninstaller is not yet in HP application file, Attempting to "quit" HP Installer generates a warning window indicating "files could be damaged" which is same window generated when trying to shut down computer using Apple shutdown command. Shutdown ends up being cancelled by HP Installer.
Computer is stuck and I'm stuck and I still don't know if reinstall would have solved original problem.  Hours into troubleshooting... any help available would be appreciated.  MacBook running OS X 10.6.8 all updates complete.  Thanks

Thanks Bob - yes - setup from printer display to wireless network was done originally when printer was new and again today in attempt to reestablish whatever setting might have been accidentally changed.  Printer is "perfectly" connected to wireless network with Excellent signal quality, etc... As is Macbook perfectly connected to wireless network.
Problem now is that when trying to reinstall original HP printer software to computer the installation process has frozen.  I now cannot end the installation process or shut down the computer without potential fear of "damaging files".  I also am concerned that if I power off manually (hard shutdown) that I will not be able to uninstall those HP files that have been installed thus far before the process stalled.

  • How can I perform a silent install of an application AND use "run executable after installation"

I am trying to do a silent install of a program I built using LabVIEW 8.5.  I also need to call an exe after the installation, so I am using the "run executable after installation" option on the Advanced tab of the installer.  I then pass the following command lines to the setup.exe:
    /qb /acceptlicenses yes /r
This installs the LabVIEW program successfully, but does not then run the additional exe afterward.  If I run the setup.exe normally (with no command line parameters), the additional exe gets run.
    Thanks,

  • CF MX 7 Installation Errors on Linux

I have been planning to put a production web server up using
Fedora Core 5 and Cold Fusion MX 7 for some time - Mainly because
the updates on FC5 are done so much more frequenntly than most
other versions of Linux I've used.
So far, the only production web servers I've had up have been
Windows, but I've really enjoyed how well Fedora has run my DNS and
email in the arenas of stability and performance.
So, I thought it'd be best to try a test install on FC5
first. I installed the normal packages for a web server including
    Apache, and I
disabled SE Linux to begin with (I might tighten it down
    later).
I logged in as root, and attempted the CF Installation, and I
received a series of errors that did not show up in
/var/log/messages or anywhere else I could find. I also tried doing
a chmod on all the installation directories to 777 (all privs
granted for all users), and I verified all directories and files
exist. I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem. I
copy/pasted the context of what I saw below for reference. Any
    suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Installation Server and Windows 7 - Admin Rights Issue

Here is a good one.  Completely reproducible error when granting Local Admin Rights by the LSH Service.
For those with SAPGui Installation Server (SAPGui 7.20 Patch 6 or above) ... try this on a Windows 7 SP1 front end when you are NOT logged on with local admin rights.
      1) Open the Windows RUN dialog
      2) Type path to your installation server\setup\nwsapsetup.exe
      3) You should find the install wizard starts (granting local admin rights) as expected.
    NOW TRY THIS
      1) Type path to your installation server\setup\nwsapsetup.exe /uninstall
      2) You will find that you get a dialog about can't grant admin rights. Un-install will abort.
This only appears to happen with the /uninstall switch!  Using /product= for example it will still grant admin rights.
    BIZZARE ...
I've opened a Customer Support Message (Friday) priority - MEDIUM  have not heard back from SAP Support yet.
    Bob

    Jude,
Thanks, it looks like that note has been getting a lot of update activity lately because the newly released Patch 8 has nwsapsetup.exe as version:  8.6.1.62   and that version also has the issue with the /nnnnnn switches.
I do have to say however, that this issue with nwsapsetup.exe and admin rights (requiring SapSetup.exe_Patch) first appeared with the release of Patch 6 for the Gui.  It was fixed for WinXP (I had a customer support message opened on this).  So why didn't anyone also test on Win7?
Who is QA-ing these software releases?
Patch 8 had the same problem.
The change log for SapSetup.exe_Patch, is up to 8.1.6.70 now.
How are we in large enterprises to feel comfortable deploying any of this?
    End of rant ....
    Bob
P.S. I really appreciate your presence here ... the tech assigned to my formal Support Message on the matter still has not gotten back advising of the updated release of SapSetup.exe_Patch.

    Hello
    New Hardisk.
    New Bios,
    New windows 7 Ulitimate
Up to date windows 7 updates
    Installing  cs5 as administrator
Installation stops on Disk 2 exactly at 76% . Tried twice and the same case.
CPU goes up to 100% Memory 29%
Tested the Hard disk fine. New 300gb 10krpm Velociraptor.
What is the issue? No errors just installation hangs and freezes the whole system. I had to do a reset the system.
    Any help is appreciated.
    thanks,
    Hari

I tried installing on my laptop which had Adobe CS4 on Windows 7 64 bit.
The dvds are good. It installed without a glitch. I didn't have to disable services or cleanup anything.
Now i can scrub thru my RED footage so fat it feels like knife on a butter.
But my desktop is still having issues. I cleaned up using CS5 cleanup script. and ran as administrator.
Now i am going to cleanup again and disable all the services and try once more. If it doesn't work, i am calling the support tomorrow.
Thank you Bob and Matt for the suggestions.

  • Safe to delete files after Master Suite CS6 installation on Windows 7 , 64 bit system?

I installed Master Suite CS6 on a new Windows 7 , 64 bit system computer.
The computer has a small (120GB) SSD which has the operating system, and I'm trying to install the rest of my programs and data on larger, standard drives.
    I just noticed that under C:/Users/Robert/Adobe CS6, I have a 6,504,448 KB MasterCollection_CS6_LS16.7Z file (Type 7Z File) and a MasterCollection_CS6_LS16 1031KB Application file
Can I delete the 6.5 GB  7z file or is that needed for operation?
What about the smaler one - is that for launching the applications or was that just to launch the installers?
I also have an 8.16 GBAdobe CS6 Master Collection folder on my Desktop (which is actually a 1TB regular hard drive as opposed to C:)
Inside this folder are two directories: Fonts (211 MB with lots of fonts inside), and Adobe CS6 (with subdirectories deploy; packages; payloads; resources; and a Set-up application 2163 KB
DO I need to save that folder, or was that just for installing the Master Suite?
    Thanks for the help.

    Thank you Bob.
Just to clarify - in terms of backing up one set of these, would that just be so I had it on disk and didn't need to re-download from Adobe if the installation got corrupted somehow?  Or do I need a backup for some other reason?
    Thanks

  • Linux installation in SuSE 10.2

Has anyone been able to get LabVIEW 8 to work on SuSE 10.2? Signs of success or pointers would be welcome. I do not understand the need for LabVIEW to run such an ancient version of the Mesa libraries. The lib this is trying to use dates to 1999 or so and so far I have not had much in the way off success.
    Bob Taylor

When you compile a LabVIEW VI into an executable the resulting executable will require the LabVIEW Run Time Engine to run.  The version of the RTE depends on which version of LabVIEW was used to build that application so if it was built with LabVIEW 8.2 then it will depend on the LabVIEW 8.2 RTE.  Just like LabVIEW versions you have multiple versions of the LabVIEW RTE installed at the same time.
So if you didn't already guess where I was going with this, some of the NI-VISA utilities are just LaVIEW VIs compiled executables, and they were built with LabVIEW 8.2 which is why NI-VISA installs the LabVIEW 8.2 RTE.  This is completely normal and won't affect your LabVIEW installation in any way.
