Installed newest O/S, in 2 stages, as 1st time had to abort. Was confronted by a "Create Apple ID" pop up, which I started to process. I already have my Apps store set up via Hotmail. All Apps had to be reloaded, some don't recognize me. How to reset?

I had photos wiped out to a certain past date, and my Kakao and Messaging was as it appeared a couple of months ago after the update.
Also, my screen saver reverted to a past image.
Is this because I aborted the update, and when I started again, some data to a certain date was erased as well?
Kakao is acting weird now....speech bubbles are in white and to the left, not in yellow and to the right for the sender, and white and to the left for the other party.
Games don't recognize my old nickname, and only my .mac address populates, although I set up Apps and games using my Hotmail address.

Right clicking on your ipod in the device list an d choosing "transfer purchases" will copy apps and bought media from iTunes to your computer. Due to the new iTunes library on your new HD, iTunes will erase your ipod during the first sync. To save your data to the computer take a look at this article about saving data from your device to a computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
Basically it's backing up manually, transferring her purchases (apps and bought music), letting iTunes erase the ipod due to the new iTunes library, and restoring from the manual backup again, to get all the data and settings back.
Make sure your new computer account is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.

Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.

Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

You can set up more than one device on your computer, and iTunes will remember the settings for each of them:

restore your app from the trash and then properly uninstall.
if that fails, CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed

"All his information" may or may not include things customarily stored in iCloud. Perhaps all the information is on both devices because they were both recently synced using the same iTunes sync.
Do you have to have iTunes Match? No. Many folks do not have iTunes Match. The music purchased from iTunes is always available to the purchaser. Other music is stored in iTunes on the person's computer.

Is the AppleID listed in Settings --> Store and Settings --> iCloud the same?
If it is a totally different ID and not a slight variation of yours, I would definitely take it back to the store. You may have bought a returned item that had been setup previously.

You should be able to, I mean I have a iPod Touch 5th Genertion, and a iPod Nano 5th generation. Works perfectly fine for me for the both of them, it should for you.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

Will Apple configurator work when Ipads already have paid apps on them via VPP redemption code

HI - we have 60 ipads under our care, and until very recently we bought apps using the VPP redemption code method, and loaded them on manually - there was something in the Ts&Cs which allowed you to load a code onto one ipad, then as long as you had enough codes, you could auto install apps on multiple ipads using the same apple id. We have a master backup on the icloud.
We have now got a Mac and I was looking into using Apple Configurator, but I'm not sure how that will work with existing paid apps already on the ipads. Can anyone give me some pointers?

Wait unti the app is done downloading in your iTunes. Then go back to your VPP account and down load the spreadsheet again and upload into configurator. The process is a pain, but the only way it works for you to get all of your codes into configurator.
