Installing 5.1 via SCCM OSD

We're looking to deploy Illustrator CS5.1 via Microsoft SCCM 2007 and we're running into an odd issue. Typically we use VBScript wrappers around all our installers so that we can do advanced tasks and checks. Previously we packaged all the CS 5 apps just fine and had no major hiccups. Well, we're now working on 5.1 and running into hiccups. Right now, if we install it manually using the custom package we created with the Adobe Application Manager toolkit, everything is just peachy. However, if we try to install it during the Operating System Deployment (OSD) portion of SCCM, it hangs (we have to manualyl power off the machine and then power it back on to get things to pick back up). After digging through the Adobe log files, the culprit seems to be:
WARNING: DW065: Display requirements not met for {23767F5D-A80C-4264-B8EA-ED4085FC332A}
WARNING: DW065: Display requirements not met for {DDBDE7B0-6FC4-40B1-B673-66EEE8CB60CF}
While we've got our "Unattend.xml" file for Windows 7 setting the resolution to 1024x768 (which is listed as being OK in the Tech Specs for Illustrator), this doesn't seem to do anything to fix the above error. And what happens is that our OS dpeloyment process just hangs and doesn't proceed. But once we power cycle the machine everything is just fine and Illustrator is installed and working.
So has anyone run across this and know how to fix it so we can use Illustrator 5.1?
Thanks!

Further digging into the log files turned up this error:
Error: MV operation returned: An unexpected Win32 error of 5. File: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS5.1\Support Files\Required\Plug-ins\FWServer.aip".
And I had a script output all the running processes after the installation finished, but I didn't see anything out of whack. Can anyone help shed some light on this, or point me in a direction?

  • Install CS6 Applications via SCCM Task Sequence

    Hi
    We have an SCCM 2012 R2 infrastructure on our network, and want to deploy Adobe CS6 applications using Windows Installer Packages created with Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition 3.1
    We created individual packages for each application (for flexibility) following the instructions provided at this address: http://wwwimages.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/creativesuite/pdfs/AdobeApplication ManagerEnterpriseEditionDeploy…
    When we go to install the packages via an SCCM Task Sequence, the following occurs:
    1     The application is installed
    2     The application is not installed
    We have followed the instructions provided by Adobe for the deployment, and cannot get any consistency with the installers. For example, when we run the task sequence, the following applications will be installed:
    1     Dreamweaver
    2     Fireworks
    3     Flash Professional
    4     Illustrator
    5     InDesign
    6     Photoshop
    When we run the same task sequence again, the following applications are installed:
    1     Dreamweaver
    2     Fireworks
    3     Illustrator
    4     Photoshop
    The task sequence first images the computer with Windows 7, and reboots the computer between each application being installed
    I have also attempted packaging all the applications together, in a Design and Web Premium style package, with the same, unfortunate results
    Please, can you help with this?

    The error means RPC server unavailable. TS needs to invoke Execution Manager by RPC. This may be caused by the issue of RPC starting. I suggest you check the RPC service availability first. Another try is to add a restart computer step before installing
    SQL. If still no avail, add a Delay "cmd.exe /c timeout /t 900".
    Regarding the connecting network share issue, seems the network services has not been initializing or ready. Another possibility is the DHCP time out. Check the Event log and this may give you some clues of why the network is not ready or DHCP cannot get
    IP address. Network Monitor can also be used to monitor the IP helper when the Client try to send DHCP request after reboot.

  • Installing Adobe Reader via SCCM 2012

    Hi,
    We are trying to install adobe reader XI via system center 2012.
    The installation works, that is not the issue. The problem that we face is that every user first has to start adobe reader to let it finish its configuration.
    Is there a way to skip this, because users don't know they have a new version of adobe reader installed and they are unable to open any pdfs until they have opened adobe reader itself at least once.
    This is a highly annoying feature. We need an installation that is ready to go after the installation, not one that first needs to be opened to finish configuring.

  • ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2nd+OneLinkPro Dock = No IP Address During Imaging (OSD) via SCCM 2012 R2

    I'm trying to image a second generatoin X1 Carbon that also has a OneLinkPro dock attached via SCCM 2012 R2.
    The USB stick is plugged into the dock, as is Ethernet & power.
    When I boot into the preinstallation environment, I don't have an IP address.
    The USB stick is fine - works on all 26 other devices here
    The network cable is fine - I'm able to get an IP & image from other systems
    I tried two OneLinkPro docks, same problem on both
    If I use the Ethernet adapter, it works fine
    I'm convinced its a driver issue at this point.
    I was directed to www.lenovo.com/onelinkdrivers to locate OneLink dock drivers, and I've downloaded the package.
    The downloaded EXE (tp_onelink_dock.exe) extracts to C:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\Dock by default
    In C:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\Dock you have another EXE Setup_OneLink_Dock_Lenovo_v10826.exe
    This immediately launches an installshield setup (run from %temp%)
    There no options to extract the drivers - it just installs the drivers, and none of the switches I've thrown at it have yielded any results.
    I found a data1.cab file but I can't seem to extract anything with 7Zip or expand
    How are folks with second gen X1 Carbons who use SCCM for OSD successfully imaging those machines with the OneLinkPro dock? (without the use of the Ethernet adapter of course.)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Fauxlution:
    Install drivers on an x86 machine
    Navigate to C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Onelinkdock (or something like that)
    Grab the driver directories & save them elsewhere
    Repeat process for x64 machine because the installer will only install drivers for the architecture of the system its run on.  (x86 system = x86 drivers; x64 system = x64 drivers)
    Clean up the drivers (extra non-essential files in there)
    Import both sets of drivers into SCCM
    Bake architecture specific Realtek drivers into boot image
    Couldn't be simpler.

  • Silent install of Photoshop Elements 10 via SCCM fails

    Hi all, hoping someone can help. I'm trying to push out deployment of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 via SCCM. From Adobe's site I found details on adding an XML file to preconfigure various default settings and perform a silent install.  I can push out
    the package to my test PC's cache folder no problem, but the advertisement fails with "Failed (bad environment)" message ID 10003. The system cannot find the file specified."
    However, I can install the program manually, running the same code from the command line. So, on my test PC, if I go to c:\windows\system32\cache\(package) from the command line, I can type the following "start /wait Setup.exe /UL1033 /V"SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx"
    (as per Adobe's instructions) and Photoshop Elements 10 will silently install just fine.
    I've read elsewhere that SCCM can have issues with server paths and making use of the %~dp0 variable but I'm unsure if that applies here. In SCCM, in the program properties for PE10, the drive mode is set to "Runs with UNC name." I tried changing to 'requires
    drive letter" but it still failed. I'm guessing I'm dealing with some sort of environment issue but I'm stuck as to how to fix. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sir_Timbit

    I used "start /wait" as that was what was listed on Adobe's silent install instructions at http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/silent-install-instructions-photoshop-elements-1.html
    Again, it installs fine manually, *if* I point a command prompt to c:\windows\system32\ccm\cache\(cache folder)\ and run the start /wait setup.exe line below. But through SCCM, the advertisement report shows:
    Message ID:10003. Failed (bad environment)
    An error occurred while preparing to run the program for advertisement "ABC20074" ("ABC00041" - "Install Photoshop Elements 10"). The operating system reported error -2147024894: The system cannot find the file specified. Additional program properties: Command

    drive letter connection to a distribution point could not be established, or when the program is configured to use the SMS Software Installation Account but the account is not specified, could not be found, or does not have the appropriate permissions. Solution:
    Check each of the items listed above.

  • Shockwave 12.0.0.112 MSI errors when installing via SCCM 2012

    I am experiencing the same type of issue i have entered a bug report for Flash Player.
    Upon pushing the vendor provided MSI via SCCM 2012, the uninstall of the older version 11.6.8.638 which is pushed enterprise wide, is removed from the machine, but the installation of the new 12.0.0.112 is not actually installing.  The log file that was on the machine from the command line we use shows this error:
    MSI (s) (A8:FC) [08:02:03:374]: Product: Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5 -- Error 2753.The File 'swhelper_1159620.exe' is not marked for installation.
    Anyone else seeing this happening or getting the same issue when installing Shockwave 12.0.0.112 with the vendor provided MSI for distribution?

    I didn't have any installation issue on Windows XP 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit.
    You didn't say anything about your OS, btw.
    And that swhelper_1159620.exe is a legacy (it's not related to the previous v11.6 or the current v12 installations).
    For future, to get rid of installation issues, use the UNinstaller first of all:

  • Latitude E6330 BSOD via SCCM 2012 R2 OSD

    Hi All,
    I'm currently struggling to build some Latitude E6330 laptops via SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 OSD . I'm getting a BSOD with error code 0000007E after the drivers are applied and the laptop reboots.
    I've built nearly 100 OptiPlex desktops without issue from the same server. I've tried both the A09 and A10 E6330 driver CABs, and both have the same issue. I was having an issue even building the boot image with these drivers, but removed a faulty driver
    before importing them into SCCM (Conexant USB Modem driver) which resolved that issue. I'm assuming that the removal of this driver wouldn't be causing the BSOD - but I'm currently trying to find a replacement driver to see if that resolves it anyway.
    I've tried using 'Auto Apply Drivers' and 'Apply Driver Package' in the task sequence, using a WMI query and also without a WMI query to no avail. I've blown away all previous drivers, imported only the A09 and then blew away + imported only the A10
    drivers, rebuilt the driver packages and re-added to the boot image numerous times. Yep I've been distributing/updating distribution points each time too :)
    Unfortunately I can't get onto the laptop to check the smsts/setupact/etc etc logs because it blue screens even in safe mode.
    My last resort will be to add just the network+HDD drivers, and then slowly add drivers until I figure out what driver is causing the BSOD. Unfortunately this would be quite a lengthy procedure, so I'm hoping that someone has had a similar problem and
    may know which driver could be causing me this grief.. Or perhaps could point me in a different direction as to what may be causing this issue....
    Thanks for your time.

    Are you trying to deploying Windows 7 to the laptops?
    If so does your WIM file include the platform update (how long has it been since you created / updated it)? If not then you may need to update / capture a new wim and try again.
    A lot of newer drivers will cause this sort of problem if you try and inject them into an older wim file.
    If this isn't the case, then I have had this happen to me a long time ago with a webcam driver so maybe exclude these drivers first? A long shot though.
    Cheers

  • Display level suppressed when installing Office 365 ProPlus via SCCM even though XML says Display Level="Full"

    As the title says the display level is suppressed when installing Office 365 ProPlus via SCCM even though XML says Display Level="Full"
    I would like to install Office ProPlus with the display level visible to the user.  Not all users are local admins so I've installed Office within the admin context.  Does this happen because SCCM installs under system context and as such suppresses
    pop ups to the end user?
    Has anyone been able to get this to work or am i doing something wrong?  If someone can offer me some guidance please.  Here is my XML:
    <Configuration>
    <Add OfficeClientEdition="32" >
        <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        <ExcludeApp ID="Access" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="InfoPath" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="Project" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="SharePointDesigner" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="Visio" />
        <ExcludeApp ID="OneNote" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" />
        </Product>
      </Add>  -->
    <Updates Enabled="True" />
    <Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
    <Property Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN" Value="1" />
    <Logging Name="OfficeSetup.txt" Path="%temp%" />
      <!--  <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" />  -->
    </Configuration>

    When i install Office 365 ProPlus manually (independently of SCCM) I see the prompts (same SCCM Package and configuration.xml file).  This suggests it is suppressed when ran in the system context via SCCM.
    How does Microsoft expect you to maintain the build versions (running setup.exe /configure XML) if users are unable to view the prompts? This is significant if the user is already in an Office program they'd get prompted with a message to close the app else
    it automatically closes OR fails depending on if you include the ForceAppShutdown switch in the configuration.xml file.
    The users in the environment are not all local admins which is why i cannot run the deployment in the user context.
    I really need some help, anyone?

  • Creative Cloud: "Build" MSI Hangs During SCCM OSD Task Sequence Installation

    I wanted to share problem and solution I found when deploying Creative Cloud Packager-created packages/application using SCCM 2012 R2.  I encountered this problem packaging this as both a Package and as an Application in SCCM.
    When installing the software through SCCM Software Center onto a client, Software Center would close right as the installation of the "Build" folder MSI completed.  This is abnormal behavior.
    When installing the application as part of an OSD Task Sequence, the software would get installed (as shown by logs) but SCCM would hang forever at the "Installing Application" step.
    I tried all sorts of different settings in SCCM and with the MSIEXEC command line and eventually traced it to the Reboot Manager functionality in MSIEXEC that will close and attempt to restart processes using files that the installer needs. Reboot Manager clobbered part of SCCM and in the Task Sequence, the connection between SCCM and the installer was broken.
    The solution is to pass the property "MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=Disable" along the command line when calling MSIEXEC on the Build folder MSI file.  This setting disabled Restart Manager so it didn't mess up SCCM.  Once I did this, my Software Center installs and OSD Task Sequences ran as intended.
    For reference, I used the REBOOT=ReallySuppress property for reboots and let SCCM determine what to do with reboots based on the return code.  My testing was done with Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64.

    Like said, did you configure my proposal: "Configuration Manager client will force a mandatory device
    restart" ? After you've configured that, update your deployment type manually and remove the old revisions of the application and try running the TS again. I'm guessing you're a little bit too fast on your doings so the ConfigMgr doesn't play a long very
    nicely...
    The TS stops because of your Hard Reboot (exit code 1641), I've seen this before and I configured my application so that ConfigMgr client will force device restart and that fixed my problem. Although, also my application is the last one in the TS, but still,
    the TS continues after the reboot.
    Btw. have you tried changing your command line to:
    msiexec.exe /i cd-ord.msi TRANSFORMS=sv-se.mst MVLICENSE_KEY=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx /L*V "%temp%\cdord.log" /qn
    /norestart

  • Deploying Lync 2010 client via SCCM

    I am trying to distribute the new Lync client via SCCM (SCCM is not the problem here, this related to any software distribution product).
    I am getting frustrated at the way the new client has been packaged - LyncSetupEval.exe in particular. Why can't Microsoft provide a simple MSI file?
    I can run the LyncSetupEval.exe file with /Install /Silent, but this managed to crash OUTLOOK.exe when it runs. Also when it completes, it automatically starts communicator.exe in the SYSTEM context, meaning that unless you restart your machine, you
    cannot run the Lync client in the user context.
    Is anyone else having the same frustrations? I've played around with the files in the OCSetup directory, but there are of no use.

    Hi Ryan,
    Happy to share. I do a simple messy batch file / VB Script combination like this:
    @echo off
    ECHO Set wshShell = CreateObject( "WScript.Shell" ) >> usermessages.vbs
    echo wshShell.Popup "The Microsoft Lync 2010 client is about to be installed.  Please close Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer before clicking OK to continue.", 300, "Microsoft Lync 2010 installation" >> usermessages.vbs
    ECHO WScript.Sleep(5000) >> usermessages.vbs
    WSCRIPT.EXE usermessages.vbs
    DEL usermessages.vbs /q
    ECHO Installing Microsoft Lync 2010...
    taskkill /F /IM communicator.exe
    taskkill /F /IM outlook.exe
    taskkill /F /IM iexplore.exe
    LyncSetup.exe /Install /Silent
    taskkill /F /IM communicator.exe
    msiexec.exe /p OUTLOOK.msp /qb-!
    office2007-kb936864-fullfile-x86-en-us.exe /passive /norestart
    msiexec.exe /update Lync.msp /qb-!
    ECHO Set wshShell = CreateObject( "WScript.Shell" ) >> usermessages.vbs
    echo wshShell.Popup "The Microsoft Lync 2010 client installation was successful and can now be run from the Start Menu.", 300, "Microsoft Lync 2010 installation" >> usermessages.vbs
    WSCRIPT.EXE usermessages.vbs
    DEL usermessages.vbs /q
    I'm sure it could be a lot nicer, there is no error passing or anything but it has served me well.

  • Lync 2013 x64 silent client deployment via SCCM 2012 SP1

    Greetings everyone!
    I ran into a problem with Lync 2013 x64 silent deployment.
    I need to provide every workstation with Lync 2013 client, so i decided to use deployment via SCCM 2012 sp1.
    I created 2 msp files with OCT, one based on x86 Office 2013 Proplus, and other based on x64 Office 2013 Proplus.
    Added them as applications to sccm software library.
    Deployment of Lync 2013 x86 application was a success with over than 80% compliance.
    But all Lync 2013 x64 automatic installations finish with different errors.
    I created special device collection for workstations with office 2010 x64 and 2013 x64, because i can't install other architecture products once it has x64 product installed.
    My membership query-rules for this collection:
    Office 2013 x64
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE on SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceId
    = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where UPPER(SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.SoftwareCode) = "{90150000-0011-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}"
    Office 2010 x64
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE on SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceId
    = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where UPPER(SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.SoftwareCode) = "{90140000-0011-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}"
    My application deployment type points to setup.exe in office 2013 x64 installation folder, where i created msp file in updates folder via OCT and edited config.xml file in proplus.ww folder.
    So my installation program looks like this setup.exe /adminfile updates\1lync.msp /config proplus.ww\config.xml
    The same configuration works with Lync 2013 x86 deployment, except other setup folders.
    When i try running installation program setup.exe with /adminfile and /config parameters locally, it installs successfully without errors or warnings.
    I'm trying to find out problem source, does anyone have ideas what I am doing wrong?
    Also i'm trying to reduce office 2013 installation folder size, what subfolders are necessary for Office 2013 proplus installation (still installing only lync with common files and tools)? Because now 3.5 GB package is quite hard to distribute to sccm secondary
    sites with deployment point.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Deploying MBAM 2.5 via SCCM 2012R2 with minimal interaction.

    Is it possible to deploy Bit-Locker encryption in a zero/minimal touch installation? I need to replace the current encryption solution on a good amount of devices and need to get them turned around and back to the users ASAP. I am still working on the back
    end infrastructure but am trying to plan ahead.
    In a perfect world my deployment would be as follows;
    1. Deploy the client via SCCM to devices connected to the LAN and have it reboot automatically after installed.
    2.  Have an answer file that sets an administrator PIN answers all prompts and initiates encryption.
    3. Users boot their devices and are prompted to create a PIN.

    Have you already solved how you will decrypt and uninstall current security solution silently? I bet it is the hardest part here. Then you just push MBAM Client and set encryption enforcement via GPO. I don´t see any point of having PIN answer file. PIN
    code is something which user owns, there is no sence admin to set it. If you want to apply PIN, you have to promt the user to enter it. But this is just my opinion. Good luck :)

    As you can see, I am locating all different versions and then installing the correct patch.  When I run it manually it works just fine, but via SCCM it updates some but not with all patches, just some patches.  Any idea what is wrong?  Thanks

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.4 installation via SCCM(Batch File)

    Hi Guys,
    I need to install Adobe Flash Player 11.4 on 150+ Computers via SCCM
    I am trying to run batch file in SCCM but doesn't work.
    It says Program has started in reporting but nothing happens and eventually failed saying -> run time exceeded
    SCCM program-> i m just calling ->
    commandline --> flashinstall.bat
    my code in batch file is,
    @echo off
    start \\sms01\source$\Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265\IE\flashplayer_11_ax_debug.exe /silent
    start \\sms01\source$\Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265\Other Browser\flashplayer_11_plugin_debug.exe /silent
    xcopy /y /q /s "\\sms01\source$\Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265\mms.cfg" "C:\windows\System32\macromed\flash\"
    EXIT
    Can you please help me out regarding how to run batch file in sccm

    OK , I just deployed flash player here and it ran like a charmy .
    1 - Download the last version of flash ( msi )
    - Go to this URL and Download the msi file : http://www.adobe.com/au/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
    2 - Create a "install.cmd" file  .
       - Create a folder , place the flash player msi file there ( install_flash_player_11_plugin.msi) . Inside this folder , create a file with the name "install.cmd" . Open this file and add the follow lines  :
    msiexec /qn /norestart /i "%~dp0install_flash_player_11_plugin.msi"
    exit /B %EXIT_CODE%
    Salve and close the file .
    I assume that you know how to create a package  / program .
    3 - Create a new package
       - After create the packge , create a new program for the package . In command line field , click in browse , make sure that you list "all files (*.*)" and click at install.cmd . Select the msi file (install_flash_player_11_plugin.msi) on "Windows Installer" option  . also , make sure that "Run with administrative rights" is selected on "Environment" .
    Thats  should be enough , let me know how it go .
    Cheers ,
