Installing contact center enterprise 6.0 in new server and upgrading to 7.0

Hi,
I am trying to install contact center enterprise 6.0 into a new server ( earlier both call manage 4.3  and enterprise 6.0 were in the same BOX). So now i am upgrading cucm4.3 to 7.0 and installing enterprise 6.0 onto a new server taking backup from the old server and restoring in the new server. and after that i am planning to upgrade the Enterprise version to 7.0. Is this the right way or there is any other way.

Take a look at the 7.0 Upgrade Guide for your options. You'll be looking for Tech Refresh.

Is there any reason why you are not upgrading to UCCE 7.5 which is compatible with UCM 7.0?

    according to the document  "Virtualization Guide for Cisco Unified ICM/Contact Center Enterprise & Hosted (February 2010)"
    only PGs and client AWs are availble on ESX.
    To take advantage of UCS and virtualization we need to virtualize all the UCCE components (router, logger, and aws first ! ).
    Do you know when UCCE components will be compatible with vmware for production?

  • Moving to new server and from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3 at the same time

    I have 2 11.2.0.1 databases running on windows server 2008, and am moving them to a VMware server running the same OS.
    While I am doing this, I figure I may as well apply the 11.2.0.3 patch by installing it on the new server and upgrading the databases.
    I've yet to do an "out of place" patch, so I'm assuming I can do the following:
    Install 11.2.0.3 on the new server running the setup.exe -downloadUpdates command, copy backed up datafiles (from online or offiline backups) over from current prod databases, restore them with rebuild controlfile & open database, then shut down and do startup upgrade?
    Or would it be a better practice to create the databases on the new server and just do full imports?

    Thanks - since the first one I am moving over is a test database, I just created the instance on the new server, shutdown the source test database then copied sp & control files & datafile directory structure over with data files, and decided to try DBUA rather than startup upgrade. Right now it's about 1/2 way through the upgrade so we'll see how it goes.
    For the production database I am going to first try my cloning technique then do a startup upgrade or use DBUA. What I'm thinking about doing is copying my last (user managed) online backup over (after creating the instance & directories), doing a startup no mount, rebuild the controlfile to reflect any changes, recover with backup controlfile & apply latest redo, open with resetlogs then shutdown and startup upgrade (or DBUA).
    If that works well that's probably the way I'll do the actual production roll over this way, but leave it in recover mode until I shutdown the old database and apply the last redolog, then upgrade it.
    I suppose that given these databases are relatively small I could also do the upgrade first then just drop the schemas with tables in them and do a schema level impdp.

    I reserved the sandbox of Unified Contact Center Enterprise. But when I open the desktop application from the url "http://10.10.20.60/desktop/container". It always shows the error "Finesse is out of service.".
    Does anyone meet the issue?

    According to your description, the error occurs when you execute the package with Agent job on clustered MSSQL 2012 Enterprise Nodes.
    As per my understanding, I think this issue can be caused by you use SQL Server Agent to schedule a SQL Server Integration Services package in a 64-bit environment. And the SSIS package is referencing some 32-Bit DLL or 32-Bit drivers which are available
    only in 32-bit versions, so the job failed.
    To fix this issue, we should use the 32-bit version of the DTExec.exe utility to schedule the 64-bit SQL Server Agent to run a package. To run a package in 32-bit mode from a 64-bit version of SQL Server Agent, we can go to the Job Step dialog box, then
    select “32 bit runtime” in the Advanced tab.
    Besides, we should make sure that SQL Server Integration Services is installed on the failing environment.

    Hi, this is my first post here so please be gentle.
    First of all I would like to mention what a great forum and resource this website is for noobs like myself and I would immensely appreciate any help / advice.
    I recently applied for a Desktop Support position and gained an interview.  Unfortunately I was unsuccessful at the interview stage.  One of the questions asked in the interview was "talk me through how you would install Windows 7 Enterprise
    on a brand new PC".
    I've previously worked as an IT Service Desk Analyst but want to get out of this call centre environment and start working out in the field instead.  I've previously performed clean installs of Windows 7 Home Premium numerous laptops at home during
    my spare time. However, I understand that installing Windows 7 Enterprise on a new corporate PC is somewhat quite different and there are many approaches for this. I really need advice for this approach as I have another interview lined up for Wednesday and
    am sure a similar sort of question will again be asked.  I will also need to know how to add a new PC to the network once Windows 7 Enterprise is installed.
    Any help will be much appreciated.  Thank you.

    but i actually have another problem
    a year ago (whenever the newest Mac OS came out), i upgraded the OS.
    in the middle of installing the OS, i got error messages, and i had to restart the installation a couple times before i finally got through.
    when i tried to install OS X on my new hard drive, the same error message came up.
    anyone know whats wrong with my computer?

  • Upgrade or re-install?  CE9 to BOE XI R2, new server has BOE XI old version

    We have an old server that's running Crystal Enterprise Reports version 9 and it is the current production machine.
    We also have another server that was purchased a couple years ago and BOE XI was loaded on it and the CE9 stuff was migrated to it.  But the migration was never completed and the person in charge of this left and the project has sat since then due to resource issues.
    I am now tasked with creating a plan for getting BOE XI R2 loaded on the "new" server and migrating the information from the CE9 server.  There are 2 options that I can see.
    1) Upgrade the existing BOE XI in place to R2.  Would doing this preserve configuration that had already been done?  What problems will be presented by the fact that information was already migrated once from CE9 and everything will need to be re-migrated?
    2) Completely uninstall BOE XI and then reinstall BOE XI R2.  Start from scratch with configuration and migrating information from the CE9 server.
    Also, I saw mention in another thread of obtaining the services of a consultant.  We typically do not do that unless it's absolutely necessary.  Would like your opinions on whether this is really complicated enough to warrant hiring outside help or if we should be able to learn what we need from documentation.  The person that did the original migration took training classes and we did not use a consultant.  Thanks for your help.

    Well you said the XI environment is old, but if you wanted to an upgrade will keep what you have. We usually recomend migration vs upgrade if a production server is installed but in DEV if all goes wrong, your other option is to reinstall anyway, so might as well try it out.
    What I think you will end up doing is migrating from CE9 to XIR2. It's a pretty tall task for anyone to assume they can guide you through a migration of 3 product versions in a simple forum post. This is why it's recomended to use a consultant, as they will get to know your existing environment and all the possible "gotcha's".
    The import wizard is your tool for migrating reports, users, groups, folders, and even instances from CE9 to XIR2. You are welcome to perform this on your own and if you have a contract you can always open a message with support if you get stuck.

    I have had the same problem for WEEKS and I cannot access any sites that use Flash. Flash has been installed on this computer since I bought it in 2012. I have allowed auto updates but for weeks the updates never get past Step 2 - is this because I do NOT want the Google Tool bar? I use NO tool bars as there is only 6 inches of vertical screen space. Is this because I uncheck wanting Chrome as a default browser?  It is already installed, I just don't use it.  I came to this site and ran the check is it installed and the system says it is either not installed or not enabled. Version 14 just downloaded about 30 minutes ago - but did not progress to Step 3 although a pop up screen came up with a finish button, which I clicked. WHAT is the problem and how do I fix it?  If this were just a compatibility bug between IE11 and Adobe they have had plenty of time to fix it.

    Thanks so much but none of that helped.  It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive.  I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

  • Move Acrobat license to new machine and upgrade at same time... not accepting old serial number

    I had Acrobat 9 Pro on an old computer. I am moving to a new computer. I wanted to move my old license to the new computer and upgrade. The online sales guy told me I needed to deactivate and uninstall on the old computer (done), then download the upgrade and install it (done, using the serial number provided when I purchased the upgrade). Now, Acrobat XI says there is no old version on the machine (true... I was told I didn't need to install it) and it asked for a serial number. I entered the serial number off of the box that Acrobat 9 Pro came in and the program tells me it is not a valid serial number. What should I do???

  • Moved to new server and needing help with feed

    My website www.gothamknightsonline.com has been moved to a new server and I am needing to keep the feed updated with new and old podcasts. I have reposted some of the old episodes as well as a new one I just posted. I have not been able to get the feed to show up. When I view our podcasts itunes page all of the info on each individual podcast is now gone with just the episodes listed and no more information.
    Here is the feed URL: http://gothamknightsonline.com/category/podcast/feed/ (I have verified the feed) but I am not certain if this is the same feed URL that was listed before. Either way the plugin i used for my podcasts in wordpress has this in the feed as well as our iTunes id and URL ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/batman-gotham-knights-online/id315370686)
    I am doing all of this on a Wordpress blog using the podpress plugin.

    iTunes is looking for a feed at http://www.gothamknightsonline.com/feed/?cat=10 and not finding it - checking this I don't get 'file not found' but if there is a file there it contains no data whatever.
    I assume this is your original feed URL. The method for redirecting iTunes to another feed URL involves placing a special tag in the original feed, and is described in detail here:

    Your new feed contains this tag (effectively redirecting to itself); you need to place a copy of the feed, with the redirect tag, at the original URL and leave it there for a couple of weeks. If you are unable to do this the two alternatives are described in my article.

  • What is the best way to set up direct to agent calling in Contact Center Enterprise?

    I have a need to route to agents from a menu choice or extension. We use an extension and a seperate agent login for our associates. I need to keep the call visible to Contact Center for reporting but it must route to the users Voicemail extension if the Agent is not available. There could be up to 20 of these in a sales unit that have to be setup. I am doing the first now and want to set it up the best way from the start. any suggestions?

    There are a few ways to go about this.
    Say, for example, that your agents have the following on their phone:
    ACD line (no voicemail), same as Agent Peripheral ID
    Personal line (with voicemail)
    In my environment, we have a *XXXXXX pattern set up in CUCM which will go directly to the voicemail box of extension XXXXXX.
    In my extension entry script, I use a Queue to Agent node with indirect agent reference. The caller inputs the Agent's ACD number, and if the Agent is available it delivers directly to them. You could of course continue queuing with messaging at this point, but in my case I follow up the Queue node with a Label that concatenates * to the number the caller entered. In Unity, I have configured the personal voicemail boxes with Alternate Extensions equal to the ACD line numbers.
    Here's an example flow:
    Caller enters ACD 801234 at prompt
    Queue to Agent node queues to 801234
    Agent not available, so Label node returns *801234
    *801234 gets sent to CUCM (in my case through CVP). CUCM sends 801234 to Unity
    Unity matches 801234 on Alternate Extension of 805678 personal line
    Caller hears voicemail prompts for 805678
    The important part of this design in my opinion is the direct-to-voicemail pattern (*XXXXXX in my example). You wouldn't want to overflow calls to a non-ACD number that actually rings the Agent's phone, as there is then the potential for calls with poor reporting. Getting to the right voicemail box can be done with Alternate Extensions as above, or you could keep a database table of AgentID-Extension matches and use the DB Lookup node in ICM.

    I need to move my old license of Acrobat 9 to a new computer.  I plan on upgrading it but I can't find the original install files.  I refuse to pay for another full copy to move it, and under the my adobe account there is no download option next to Acrobat 9.  I did download the XI trial but can't do anything with it now that the trial has expired.  How can i get the old files so i can move it and upgrade it?  Also when i co onto the old computer and look under help the Deactivation option is gray, and I can't select it.  Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

    When the trial asked me to register it I put my Acrobat 9 serial number in and it told me that it was not valid.  It's the serial number that my "My Adobe" account gave me for the Acrobat 9 copy.  Is there somewhere else I am suppossed to put it in at?
