Reg : BAM connection

Hi Experts ,
I am new to BAM Reports.
I installed SOA server along with that i got BAM too.
I up both the servers SOA & BAM.
Now from my J Developer i want to create a BAM connection.
But when i am clicking on Connections in application Resources and clicking on connections i am not able to get the option for Creating BAM connection.
Can any one help me on this.

You should be doing the following:
1. Creat BAM Data OBject based on your requirement.
2. bind adf user interface components to those data objects

BAM Connection in Weblogic Server 10.3

The application uses a BAM connection to create visualization components in ADF. It works fine in the integrated weblogic server. I deployed the application on a stand alone weblogic server. I am able to launch the page but get an error for the BAM Connection. How can I create a BAM connection in the stand alone weblogic server. Is there something similar to creating a JNDI for a database.

Looks like a possibility that some files got corrupted after the reboot. Looks like a OS specific issue.

Error while doing BAM connection in jdeveloper

Hi,
I tried to create a connection to my local BAM Server in JDev 10.1.3.2.0 and also in 10.1.3.3, but I always failed! Error messages:
"Server is not set up correctly SOA1"
I'm running on Windows 2003 and installed BAM according to the Installation Guide (version was Bam with Enterprise Link for windows 10.1.3.3.0).
I did not get any error while doing the other setups and can access the different BAM tools via the Oracle BAM Start page, but I can't create a connection in JDev. I used the following parameters:
Host Name: SOA1(system name)
Port Number: 80
User Name: Administrator
Password: <windows domain pwd>
Domain Name: DOMAINNAME
Any help would be highly appreciated.

BPM and BAM Connectivity Issue....

Hi All,
I'm going to connect my BPM project to BAM application.
Initial works are done. But the Data Object should follow name format like 'BI_<partition>_<composite name>_<process name>' .
But my composite name and process name has '_' characters. Will this affect to the naming convention ??

This is just a guess as I'm not a Transall user. My first guess is that your DSN will need to be made using the 32-bit ODBC driver. As a default, using Windows 7 or later, you created a 64-bit source.
To create or modify a 32-bit DSN on 64-bit Windows, you must run C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. You may find it useful to create a shortcut to this on your desktop or Start menu if you access it frequently. I believe the interface is exactly the same after that.

BAM Connection in 12C - Failed to establish a connection to localhost at port 7004.Please verify the Bam server host and JNDI port.

BAM server is running on 7004 in our local system.
We need o connect to BAM server from OSB service.
We tried to use the BAM adapter in the pipeline in 12c, We received Failed to establish a connection to localhost at port 7004.Please verify the Bam server host and JNDI port.
Please let us know the resolution to this issue.
Also please provide some links/steps to connect from OSB service to BAM server in 12c.

In BAM 12c, you can send data via JMS by configuring an EMS in BAM using the "self-described" payload. Make sure the date formats match correctly. You can configure an error queue which will show you any data parsing problems.

Hi Gurus,
I am current having one universe big complex universe say U1 with 60 tables linked to that.... Its Database is Say.. X
Now I want to create the one more universe by copying the U1 to U2 .. with the same number of tables ..
and I would like to use different database as Say Y
Please suggest me how do I edit that one....

Hi
You just need to update the universe name & connection of copied universe
1. Open Universe designer & create a New connection which points to database Y
   2. open the copied universe U2, go to file -> parameters
            a) change the universe name to U2
            b) change the connetion to new connection created in step 1.
3. Export Universe.

Hi all,
We are facing one issue with service connectons. While opening service connections in market place it is getting connected and showing in open(green) status. and in OSS1 also giving possitive result as it is asking for language selection when logon.
But from SAP they are saying that getting Time_out error, can any one share your exp with this.

Thanks for your reply, but i dont think auto logout parameter can effect this. Because it will works after getting logged in to system, here they are even not able to logon.
Anil: I dont think RFC will stop the service connection, as SAPOSS connection is to establish the connection from our sytem to SAP. Here the situation is from SAP to my system.
Already i have mentioned that OSS1 is working fine and asking for language selection.

Reg: BAM Data not moving from MsgBox to PrimaryImport

Hello All,
I am facing one issue with BAM where the data's are not getting moved from MessageBox to BAMPrimaryImport. We had some issue so I un-configured BAM alone and deleted all the existing DB's related to BAM and re-configured BAM.
Now, I see the data in TrackingData_x_x tables. But
TDDS_StreamStatus table is empty. I don't see any sequence number. I did the following
Used Terminator and deleted all the rows in the TrackingData_x_x tables.
Checked all the SQL Agent Jobs and its all running with no error in the History.
Appreciate your help.

Found the solution:
Under managementDB, the following two tables were having the old server name.
TDDS_Source, TDDS_Destinations.
After updating the proper server name, it started working.

Note: I have not installed BAM as part of SOA installation.

you need to run rcu to create BAM schema and you can extend the soa domain to have BAM also.

Reg Target connection failed from catalog

Hi,
i am configuring RMAN in my PROD.
I have seperate catalog database.
I have added the TNS Entry of both in PROD and CATALOG Server.
TNSPING from both server is working.
I have created the password file in PROD.
When i issue the command
rman catalog rman/rman target sys/sys@PROD it gives below error.
RMAN-04005: error from target database:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
But when i give
sqlplus sys/sys@PROD
it is getting connected.
One more thing already a test database is registered in the catalog as target.
Is there any Restriction that only one target can be registered in catalog.
If so how to deregister the existing target database.
Kindly help in this regard.

Whether if i register the database using the second scenario then if try to connect using first ,will it work?you can connect with any database from rman, but why? no need, you can directly connect with recovery catalog from target.
you can get the backup information only from registered recovery catalog database.
IF i deregister the existing target database say TEST will the backup list of TEST will be removed automatically.yes, all information from recovery catalog is removed.
why you get confusion, register a database with recovery catalog is very simple
1. create a recovery catalog user and grant recovery catalog owner role to user.
2. connect the target database with the recovery catalog database
3. register the database with the recovery catalog database.
4. connect as recovery catalog datbase user and verify it using rc_database recovery catalog view.
