Installing DVD burning software won't work?!
I'm trying to burn a dvd on my Mac and I downloaded Roxio Toast but it was taking way too long to burn. I tried downloading ConvertXToDVD and when I go to click the setup to install it, The Unarchiver opens up for me to extract files, and I click things and it says "the contents of the file "so and so" can not be extracted with this program"
Please help if you can! Very frustrating!

To begin, I will need to ask you a few questions:
What is the Product and Model Number of your desktop computer?
What version of Windows did you have installed on your computer before upgrading to 8.1?
Has your computer completed all of its important Windows Updates?
In the meantime, I recommend following this document on Download or Update Software and Drivers for HP Computers, which should help configure your DVD / CD drive.

My newly installed burner works fine from i-tunes, except the burned disk won't work in my car CD player. The old burner's work just fine in the car. Please help.
Using my new G5 I have the same problem, which I did not know using my old G4 with an external LaCie burner. The CD-Changer in my car is not able to read audio-cds, also my cd-player in my home hifi-system. The only way to play these audio-cds is (strange...) to put them directly in the main tuner of my car (usually used for the navigation cd), not using the Changer.
Maybe the problem really depends on the quality of the CD-Rs. I have used CD-Rs from Sony (it´s a brand, I think?) and will try Verbatim.

Media MAnger uninstalls DVD burning software?
I just purchased my first Blackberry and find it very nice to use. Yesterday I installed the Desktop MAnager software and as part of that install Roxio Media Manager was installed with it. During the install process my Roxio CD and DVD Burning software was uninstalled. The Media Manager installation said it found an earlier version of the software and needed to uninstall it.
How do I install the desktop manager application without uninstalling my DVD burning software? Why would Blackberry design their installs to do this very terrible thing? It's uninstalling software that is not even used by the smartphone.you want to install the Desktop Manager.
but what you really installed is "Desktop Manager" and "Roxio Media Manager". Since the installer of Roxio products is "not perfect", there are problems like the one you have experienced.
I suggest you to install your other Roxio software, then install the "Desktop Manager without Media Manager", which you have to download first.

I am looking for a simple dvd burning software for the MacBookPro. I have a 11 minute interview that I would like to burn straight to DVD from Final Cut Express 3.5. It has to cost $0.00

What you want is a simple Autoplay movie where you insert the DVD and the movie begins playing.
You can set it up in seconds like this:-
Click the Map button (bottom of monitor, looks like 3 squares in a triangle shape) to open the DVD map.
There will probably be 2 icons showing. Drag your QT Movie and drop it onto the top icon.
Then click the Burn Button, insert your blank DVD and wait for your Mac to do its work.
That's it! -
I am trying to install the latest update for HP Printers, it will not completely install ,now my printers won't work. Help!
Hello Carolyn - Thank you for your quick response to my concerns, I had already gone to the HP support site and tried to get the latest HP drivers, the site said for Lion 10.7 there was NA version. So, I just used my time machine to replaced the OS from that time spot. I got my printers working again, so all right with the printer. But, the fact remains that I still keep getting the New Update HP Printer in the software update window. But, what happens if I try to download and install it is this: It starts the download, everything seems to come down fine, it starts write the files and then starts moving items into place, the blue bar fills to all most the end and slows down to a stop and never completes the installation. I have left my laptop on over night and it never finishes the operation. I can only force quit the software update. Which has knock out my printer drivers. Now, I just keep unchecking the box in the software updates for new HP printer software. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just my system? Sincerely: Professor G

Why don't I see the airplay icon in my settings? I have the ios7 installed now my netflix won't work as need to turn off mirroring..... And the airplay device is not installed.... Anyone help on this?.
Reboot your router. The icon only shows when connected to wifi and Apple TV or similar device. Same thing happened with my phone and the icon appeared in control center after router reboot.

How to install DVD based software on Mini
How do I install DVD based software on a Mac Mini? Does it have a "CD/DVD" Drive? There appears to be a slot on the back. Is that a "SuperDrive" or whatever the **** they call it now?
If you have another PC/Mac on your network you can activate disc sharing to allow the Mac Mini to hijack the disc drive of that machine or acquire the Apple external drive or similar third party unit.
The current models have NO built in disc drive, the space is now reserved for the optional second SSD on select added value models, and can also be used to install your own second drive with little jiggery pokery.
With the likes of the Apple App Store, Amazon Store Microsoft Market (Office 2011) and Steam for games and other online vendors the need for physical discs is rapidly diminishing provided you have access to decent broadband bandwidth.
If you are a serious gamer then the mac mini is probably the wrong machine for you anyway (PC or console surely).
If you are using professional Adobe/Maya type software then the $70.00 external isn't going to break the bank is it ? -
exactly as i stated above:
i tried exporting my video project via mpeg2-dvd option which put my video in the m2v. file format. the file format is showing blank when i go to put it in any dvd burning software. also when i put the file back into premiere it shows no media but has the entire duration of the video project on it with 3.5 gb. what is going on and can anyone help assist me with this frustrating issue -
when I try to burn a disc from my itunes account the action stops with the prompt, install cd burn software. how do I install this software or check to see if it is on my macbook air already?
That is an odd message - what exactly are you trying to burn? A disk of mp3 files? a music disc? What burner do you have connected to your computer?

Blackberry updates remove (uninstalls) Roxio Easy CD/DVD Burning software
Whenever I do a Blackberry Desktop update, my Roxio Easy CD/DVD Burning software is removed. The only part of the program left standing is the "Drag & Drop" portion.

I thought you wanted to get away from having to continually reinstalling the Easy Burn program, but if you have the disk and don't mind the process.....

When powering off my iPod touch, any application (facebook, viber etc)installed using App Store won't work again
How to solve this issue?Try a hard reset first. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If still no luck, try downloading and installing a new app from the App Store. Doing so has cleared the issue up for several users.

Microsoft office 2008 and later work fine on Lion. Office 2004 is a PowerPC application. PPC apps are no longer supported and Lion does not include Rosetta, which was required to run them on OS X. I imagine the Epson / Canon software you are trying to use is the same. Check with them to see if updates are available.

I recently installed windows 8.1 on my Pavilion All in One Desktop Computer and now the computer won't recognise the DVD/CD player. I have downloaded all current drivers, but still not working. Any ideas?

Maxa Cookie Manager software no longer records cookies since I installed FF4. So what will happen if I install FF 3.* over FF4?
Glad to hear your prolbems have been sorted.
Have had similar problems since performing a sofware update last week.
Itunes has crashed.
Can't be reinstalled.
The software update won't work, neither will disk utility.
Removing the .dmg files hasnt helped.
Any suggestions?

My still photos won't all show in my movie
