Instance in READ ONLY mode - DISPLAY mode

Dear,
we dismissed and OLD SAP environment (4.6C), but due to the Italian law, we have to maintain it alive for 5 years more.
I would like to set it in "READ ONLY" mode.
Users could login in this OLD R/3 but, without changing their profiles, system must be set in DISPLAY mode.
Does anybody know a Tips & Tricks to put it in place?
Thanks
Andrea

You should change the users authorizations so that they cannot perform any changes to the system. Usually in cases like this only a limited number of users require access to the system so it shouldn't be too difficult to setup specific authorizations for read only access. I think this is the only choice you have.

  • Issue SLFI should open in read only or display mode

If we open an issue in CRM_DNO_MONITOR we can choose whether the issue
should be opened in change mode or read mode.
We can do this by means of >Extra > Settings and then choosing for
Display or Change in the General tab.
This way we can read issues as a default setting, this way the issue is
not locked !! Only if we want to change it we set it to change mode and
    continue with the issue.
However if we do the same using DSWP or SOLMAN_ISSUE_MGMT the issue is
always opened in change mode, and results in a lot of locks in the
system. How can this be changed, is there some kind of customizing for
    this or menu option.
The handling of issue does not seem to be consistent for the different
    methods in handling them.
Who has the same problem with locking?
Who has a working bypass w/o manual switching from change to display?

    Thanks for the reply.
Anything is welcome at this point.
And yes, I did try both through PowerShell and through the Unlocker and the behavior is pretty much the same. If the item is checked in, there is no trace that it is locked, if I Check it Out (the only thing I can really do with it) it shows as "LongTerm"
but then throws the same exception
    Unlocking...

  • GET_P Method for Link in table - only in display mode

    Hello,
i created an assignmentblock to display a ztable (Simple Object).
One column in the table is homepage.
For this attribute i added some coding to the GET_P_Method to have a link.
The link works fine - but i have this link now not only in display mode but also in edit mode for the table.
As a sideeffect this column is now longer editable.
How should i change my GET_P coding so that the link is only there in display mode. In edit mode the field should be editable (no link).
    Thank you
    Best regards
    Manfred

    Hello Manfred,
I do not know about your system... but the usual GET_P-methods do have an importing parameter IV_DISPLAY_MODE. This tells you if you are in display or edit mode.
    Check method CL_BT115QH__DETAILS_CN00->GET_P_ORDER_REASON.
Or even more general: GETP_XYZ in your context node class.
The part with the IF statement should be trivial.
    cheers Carsten

  • Item field to non-editable mode(display mode) in Purchase Order(ME22n).

    Hi SDN,
Based on the Comany code i need to modify the item level fields like <b>Item, Account Assignment, Material</b> to non-editable mode(display mode) in Purchase Order(ME22n).
So i modifed in the method MODIFY_SCREEN_TC_LINE of class CL_TABLE_VIEW_MM and set the value L_FIELD_STATUS = *  for the screen filed MEPO1211-EBELP. When i execute, the whole column changed to display mode and the empty rows filled with 0(zero). But i want only grey mode for the line items that are present for that PO but not for the whole column. So can any one guide me to do so. I am using 4.6c.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Basha

    Hi Ramesh,
Normally you can change the currency field, after entering information in Data base's table, go to Detail's table and change the rate as you want, then directly choose your PO number.
so the system accept the rate entered aven though the PO had another rate.
    Regards.

  • Partitions are read-only after sleep mod, not able to sleep again etc.

I have strange problem, after resuming from sleep mode the system is often lagging, even for minute or so nothing loads. Sometimes it even stops responding at all, I cannot log in and/or start XFCE4. If I succeed to reboot, I get messages about readonly filesystem. May the problem be bad settings in fstab? I tried several combinations of 0 and 1 for the dump and pass for the two NTFS file systems. But even the root talks about read-only than.
Or other case is most things works fine but I cannot make it sleep again, it just writes something like **Message: xfsm-shutdown-helper.c:1411: Using org.freedesktop UPower to suspend on the console where I am logged in and nothing happens.

From your statement "...after resuming from sleep mode the system is often lagging, even for minute or so nothing loads." I was thinking you might have the problem discussed in this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=116355&p=1 but I see you have XFCE. Strange because this is exactly what other users and I are experiencing under KDE.
Try checking if your CPU or a core of your CPU is at 100% usage.

  • Add instance on Read only field issue

I have a subform with two fields , one a date field to capture current system date and time and another is a Text field for some comments.
Then there are two buttons ,one for Adding the instance for these two fields and another is a Save button which makes these two fields
The requirement is that once both the fields are filled with data and i click on save button, the fields should become read only ,however when i click on the add instance button the instance is added successfully but the save button click is not making the new instance read only.
The Code for Add Instance Button is :
    "New1.FileNote.instanceManager.addInstance(true);
    xfa.form.recalculate(true);"
The code for Save button to make the fields read only is :
    New1.FileNote.DateTimeField101.access = "readOnly";
    New1.FileNote.TextField37.access = "readOnly";
Please guide me as I am totally blank on how to code the same..Have a rough logic of using a for loop with index of the Add Instance but not getting the way out for the code.
Thanks a lot for any help and guidance.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply..I made it happen using the for loop with Index and resolve node. However there is another issue which occured after that..I have a date/time field in that repeating subform instance.
The run time property is set to Current Date/Time. Now the issue is whenever i click on save, form.recalculate instance changes the existing time value in the previous subbform instance as well
Is there a way to retain the existing value in the field of the previous instance ??

  • How to enable the 'Ship-To Address' field only in 'display ' mode in the SC

    Hello,
We would like the 'Ship-To Address' field to be locked for change mode in the SC.
    Regards,
    Lina

    Hi ,
If you wish to hide or show fields, proceed as follows(through screen variants):
    1. Determine the screen variant, for example, BBP_SC(For shopping cart), using the list in documentation of BADI BBP_SCREENVARIANT.
    2. Copy this screen variant, for example, in Zbbp_SC, in Transaction SHD0.
    3. Change the new screen variant as required. Note that you can only change the display properties for fields of table controls. You can switch the display on and off.
    4. Implement the appropriate method (see the list above). Fill the export parameter EV_SCVARIANT with the new screen variant.
You can create multiple screen variants for a screen and then select these in the BAdI depending on the user or on other criteria.
here is sample code in BADI BBP_SCREENVARIANT implementation after creating Z screen variant.
    Method IF_EX_BBP_SCREENVARIANT~GET_SCREENVARIANT_SC.
    IF iv_progname EQ 'SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS'
    AND iv_dynnr EQ '0120'
    AND flt_val EQ c_fltval.
    IF iv_scvariant EQ 'BBP_SC'.
    ev_scvariant = 'Zvariant'.
    ENDIF.
    ENDIF.
    ENDMETHOD.

  • X200s - 50Hz interlaced display mode only... What a headache!

    Bought X200s (1440x900 resolution) recently.
Have found it to be very bad for my eyes.
I've used to work on my aforetime Quanta for hours w/o any problems.
Now with X200s I do have blearing eyes and headache very soon.
Investigating the problem I've found that the best (and the only) display resolution possible is 50Hz.
Moreover, only interlaced display mode is possible, even with native resolution!
So the best mode we have with the newest X200s is 50Hz interlaced...
Well, I've seen such LCD monitors when I was young (that was ages ago)...
    But now???
I wonder if there is any other notebook (either netBook) on the market now with maximum refresh rate less then 60Hz?
    No fear!
I'm definitely sure that Lenovo should recall this piteous product ASAP.
Message Edited by gelleal on 03-20-2009 12:25 PM

    @lead_org
I do not compare CRT to LCD at all.
    To be more clear:
    1. All modern LCD screens (including all laptop screens currently on market) hold at least 60Hz refresh rate/non-interlaced mode.
    2. Whereas cheap laptop LCDs work usually at not more then 60Hz, good screens possess 75Hz and sometimes 90Hz rates.
    3. Only very old LCD screens (10+ years ago) had 50Hz of refresh rate maximum and could work utilising interlaced modes only.
    4. The common notion states that any good LCD (not CRT) screen must render 60Hz refresh rate at least.
On smaller CRT monitors (~<14 inches) few people notice any discomfort below 60–72 Hz. On larger CRT monitors (~>17 inches) most people would experience mild discomfort unless the refresh is set to a more comfortable 85 Hz or higher. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refresh_rate)
Some major manufactures consider 60Hz to be unsufficient, offering 75Hz-capable laptop screens.
    5. Low refresh rate setting affects the LCD’s performance (see http://support.apple.com/kb/TA22119?viewlocale=en_US etc. etc.).
So, am I wrong? Or is the market wrong?
Are there any other laptops with 50Hz (interlaced) maximum refresh rate I'm not aware of?
    I doubt if any.
Back on topic: with new X200s (1440x900), I have 90Hz (non-interlaced) on external 17" 1280x1024 Sony LCD monitor, and up to 100Hz on external 20" NEC LCD monitor (any resolution).
    Both have a great picture.
50Hz interlaced is definitely the laptop screen limitation, not of the Intel 4 Series Express graphic adapter.
I've tried the older X200s (1280x800), which runs at 60Hz non-interlaced and does have a good stable picture.
Did Lenovo accomplish a product invention, or there is a sales pitch of cheap screens below standards?
BTW, in some countries LCD screens with refresh rates below 60Hz are prohibited by public health regulations.

  • How to modify edit/read mode pop up for documents in "SP2013" to open in only read only mode

    Hi,
When opening a document the users of my site and including me are getting a pop up asking to open it in read only or edit mode. We want to disable the edit option for end users. Those are confidential doc's.
We want them to open only in read only mode. How can it be achieved.
Can we FORCE a read-only open of the document without giving anyone the option to open in edit mode? I don't have access to Central Admin. Hence kindly let me know if there is some javascript
code that i can use to do this from browser.
    thank you !

    Hi Prajk,
If users have edit permission on the documents in this library, even if we disable this dialog (by disabling the add-on "SharePoint OpenDocuements class" from IE browser), the users sitll could download the documents to local machine, and
edit the documents in client Office application, then sync to library.
If you want the users to read these confidential documents only, you can only grant the users read-only permission on the document items or on library level, then they could unable to edit these confidential docs, note to give proper users
    proper permissions.
If you also want that the confidential docs could be opend and read-only in client Office application, you can configure the IRM (implemented by RMS) for SharePoint server, then set the document items in the library read-only for
    some users.

  • Is it possible to display the transaction in display mode in portal?

    Hi All,
I have created one transaction iview in portal say for eg: SE38.
i want to display this transaction in portal only in display mode so that users cannot edit/modify.
I checked with giving "Read" permission in portl to that iview.  even though the user is able to change.
is this possible for the particular transaction to display only in display mode not as editable mode in portal?
    Thanks,
    vijaya.

    Hi Vijaya,
Ask your basis team to create two user on R/3 system
1st with edit permission to that Tcode eg - SE38
2nd with only view permission to that tcode eg - SE38
Now will doing, user mapping in user administrator in portal
set 1st userid /password to whom u have to give edit permission  for that Tcode and set 2nd userid /password to portal user whom u want to just have read access for that tcode...
    Hope this solves ur problem...

  • Se54 view cluster (display mode)

Hello, I created a view cluster and call it within sm34 transaction.
So, some users need to change that view cluster and some do not need to edit.
But even if I press display button in sm34 I can see Display -> Change icon, How can I make this button invisible.
In general I need to get 2 transaction:
1st -- for editing view cluster
    2nd -- for displaying.
Please ask if I expressed my problem not correct.
    Thank You

    Kernal
I dont know if your problem solved or you still looking solution. What i can think about is you dont need to create any view cluster for display only. You can create views for that with display properties. Or if you need VC then embedd these views there you shouldnot able to edit as these will be only in display mode.
Let me know if you got any other solution.

  • Setting SPRO authorization only in disply mode

    Hi,
I am working on authorization objects in anew role.. What is the name of the authorization object where I can set the activity for SPRO (Customzing) only in display mode ?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

You dont need to do all this. Just create a role and add SPRO to it. Then maintain all the objects in that role to Display (Activity 03) ONLY.
However, this will not allow you access to all the zillion Tcodes that SPRO allows access to. In order to allow this, you will have to manually add ANOTHER S_TCODE object to that role and assign a * in it. So then you have access to all the Tcodes, but Display only.
This will do it for you. It did for me.

Is there any possibility to put the description of material type gray mode (display mode) so that it cannot be changed in t.code.OMS2
because my client doesn't want it in change mode.
    pl give your valuable suggestion.

    Hi,
OMS2 is part of configuration and client has nothing to do with this.
Better, you restrict the config authorization with help of BASIS Guy.
