Instance not starting up

Hi all,
When i am trying to start the instance after a profile parameter change it is not starting up.The disp + work process is not starting up.The error showing up is SAP-Basis System: Signal c00 received by operating system.

Hi
ambrish
at os level run this command
login as sidadm
go to profile directory
sappfpar check pf="<profile name>"
this will give you error and required paramter value to change
some times dependent parameters value need to change
change that value manually at os level

  • Java instance not starting

    Hello,
I have an ABAP+Java system. The Abap instance has started with 'startsap', but teh Java instance is not starting.
    Please help me troubleshooting.
    Thanks.

    Dear Gautam,
Java always take some time. If ABAP stack is ready in 5 mins, it will take 10 - 15mins for Java stack to be up. This is because of the Java program/stack objects being loaded into your physical RAM,pagefile.

  • Urgent - Host Instances not starting. Error 1053 , In Biztalk Server 2010 Environment

    Hi,
All host instances are down and when we try to start them we get the following error:
Windows could not start the Biztalk Service Biztalk Group :
    HOST_NAME service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
We already restarted SQL, SSO and BizTalk. Any suggestions?
What is the impact of doing a BizTalk repair? Do I lose anything?

  • Oracle instances not starting

    So,
We tried to bring our Oracle 10g RAC cluster back online on Monday and have been having issues getting the instances to come up. Here's what we've seen so far:
    [oracle@db1-dev bin]$ ./crs_stat -t

    [oracle@db1-dev bin]$ ./crsctl check crs

    CRS appears healthy
    EVM appears healthy
    [oracle@db1-dev bin]$
We have two nodes in our RAC cluster (db1-dev and db2-dev). Both nodes run on linux as well. I've also tried using the "srvctl" command to remove and add the instances as well as the database. That has not seemed to change our situation.
Any help would be greatly apprecited.
    Thanks in advance.

    So,
I attempted to use SQLPlus to start the instances and I received TNS listener errors:
    [oracle@db1-dev bin]$ sqlplu /nolog

    SQL> CONNECT SYS as SYSDBA
    Enter Password:
    ERROR:

This is bothersome. Especially since the "tnsnames.ora" file has not changed on this box (and it used to work). Ideas on how to fix this?
I also looked through your blog and discovered that we don't have the cap files for anything but the listeners... so, I created a file that looks like this:
    NAME=ora.orcl.db
    TYPE=application
    ACTION_SCRIPT=/u01/app/oracle/product/crs/bin/racgwrap
    PLACEMENT=balanced

I then did the following to register it:
    [oracle@db1-dev bin]$ ./crs_unregister ora.orcl.db
    [oracle@db1-dev bin]$ ./crs_profile -validate ora.orcl.db
    [oracle@db1-dev bin]$ ./crs_register ora.orcl.db

  • Multiple instances not starting using Windows services

    Hi,
We have two Oracle instacnes installed in same oracle home. They are not starting using windows 2000 service manager.
I have to go to svrmgrl and set the ORACLE_SID environment variable to startup each instance. How can I make them start through windows Services instead of manually doing it.
Is installing multiple instances in same home a good idea?
These multiple instances are not part of paralell server.
    Regards,
    Wasim.

    Hi,
I have checked the registry keys and everything looks ok.
    ORACLE_instance_AUTOSTART is true
    ORACLE_instance_PFILE is correct
    ORACLE_instance_SHUTDOWN is true
    ORACLE_instance_SHUTDOWNTYPE is i
Above values are right for both instances. I even have recreated the services using ORADIM. I can start both instances by going to command prompt set ORACLE_SID and start the instance using SVRMGRL. But they'll not autostart when the machine is rebooted.
    Regards,
    Wasim.

  • Sun One Web Server instance not starting

I have installed Sun One Web server 6.1. The administrator server is starting up. However, the instance of the web server through which I want to serve the web pages is not starting. Altough, there are no error messages that are shown when I am starting the server. Please help.

I would check the logs directory for a PID file. It could be that there is a bogus pid file and when it tries to start you will get no error message. If there is a PID file delete it and try again.

  • Dialogue instance not starting up after performing stack upgrade.

    Dear Experts,
We have performed stack upgrade on ERP 6.0 EHP5 system. In configuration phase we have not got the option to update dialog instances.
We proceeded without that option and completed the upgrade successfully but the dialog instance is not getting started.
Kernel level got upgraded in all instance with the same level. Below  is the work process log content of dialog instance.

As per SUM guide we need to uninstall the dialog instances before downtime and re-install the dialog instances after upgrade but we didn't uninstalled dialog instances before downtime.
Kindly let me know if there is any other process start up the dialog instance with out going for re-installing it.
Also suggest on re-installing the dialog instance since we didn't uninstalled dialog instances before downtime.
    Thanks,
    Bharath.

    Dear Divyanshu,

  • NetWeaver CE Jstart.exe not start

    Hi Experts,
we have installed a NetWeaver CE 7.1 on an VMware ESX-Server and it works fine.
Than we convert this Virtual Machine with the VMware Client Converter and copy that
on another VMware Server. After that I can't start the Jstart.exe in the SAP MMC console.
The Server cannot connect to Message Server, you can see it in the debug trace:
Has anybody an idea what is the problem?
    Best regards Philipp

  • CRS not starting

    OS: OEL 5 U4 x86_64
    DB: Oracle 11.2.0.1 EE
    Grid Infrastructure: Oracle 11.2.0.1
CRS and Voting disk Storage: ASM
    Datafile and FRA storage: ASM
I'm not sure exactly what caused this, but anyways, I changed MTU from 1500 to 900 online. After some time, 3 out of 4 nodes in the cluster went down and CRS refuses to start on these nodes after trying the switch back from MTU 9000 to 1500, reboots, and making sure disk permissions and ownership are correct. The logs are not too helpful (and cryptic) so I'm at a loss and appreciate any ideas or help.
The installation was successful, the RAC was up for a few days while running some tests (including restart of a node). Currently only a single node has everything up and functional, the others are not working. Below are some output that might help:
    [root@ucstst11 bin]# ./crsctl check cluster -n ucstst11
    ucstst11:
CRS-4535: Cannot communicate with Cluster Ready Services
CRS-4530: Communications failure contacting Cluster Synchronization Services daemon

    From the functional node:
    [root@ucstst12 bin]# ./crsctl check cluster -all
    ucstst12:
CRS-4537: Cluster Ready Services is online
CRS-4529: Cluster Synchronization Services is online
    CRS-4533: Event Manager is online
Cluster verification now hangs when it tries to contact the other nodes.
    Please help!

For the most part this issue has been resolved. The SA partially changed to jumbo frames (OS, but not the switch), we reverted all the jumbo frame changes and the system is back online, except for one node (the one which was working ironically) not being reported via "crsctl check cluster -all", and one instance not starting due to it not seeing an interconnect (weird).
We did attempt to fully implement jumbo frames but that did not work hence the reversion.

  • BI : dialog instance does not start

    Hi all.
--> Before explain you our problem, I'm going to tell you our scenario: We have an HP-UX cluster where we have installed BI system ABAP+JAVA stack (NW 701). We have got one central package with SAP and oracle in node1 and one dialog instance in node2.
--> When we start the cluster, central instance starts succesfully and all works fine. But at the moment we start dialog one in second node, for this instance only starts ABAP stack, but not java one. All logs shows a clear error, and it is that not connect to database. But at the same time, in central instance we are not able to start configtool because not connection to database. It's strange because in all nodes, processes are running. Just at the moment we stop dialog instance, central one works fine again and configtool access is succesfully.
Lot of bootstrap logs appear, so we are thinking that some parameters are wrong in configtool, but we are not so sure.
Can anybody help us with this issue? What can be causing that database connection is lost when starting dialog instance?
Thanks a lot to all in advance.
    Best regards

    Hi,
which way you apply kernel patch on application server for iseries?
use following method to apply kernel patch on application server for iseries.
    stop application server.
download the kernel sapexe.sar and saexedb.sar  application server on windows for iseries.
extract both file in one folder. i.e kernel
also download patch for IGS  i.e igs.sar
and extract it in same folder. i.e kernel
    now
backup NTI386 folder on iSeries host.
    \usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386
now copy the content of extracted kernel from folder kernel to NTI386 folder.
now start the application server host.
consider following to install application server for iseries on windows server.
if you use a 64 bit windows server, please have look to Note 734428:
This Application Server (64 bit)  is available for EM64T/AMD64 technologies and NOT for Itanium
also check Note 680617 - INST: Appl.Server in Heterogeneous SAP System Environment
