Integartion of BI Systems

HI,
I am working on a integration project, and as per our company requirents curretly there are 2 diffrent BI systems and consists of both bw and bi objects like TR, UR, DTP, Transformation etc... and the new is to integrate these systems into another BI system where planning to have all systems data and remove the indiaul systems and finally maintain only one instead of 2 systems.
So can any obdy suggest how to proceed, as per my understand till now, we have to move/transport the objects into new bi systems and design the same flow as in the old systems, so please let me know if is there any other things we need to take care and also complexity/issues while going further like what need to do if same applications maintained diffrently in old systems and how to integrate these diffrent application into new one as a single and also let me know if is there any propsal/intial documents for integration of systems.

    Hello,
    We are working on project to load data into BW7.3 using DS4.1.
    When we import DS dataflows in Integration system, we have this error message for all BW datasources we try to load.
    Solution is to reimport manually all BW_TARGET into DS. And then, we can load it without any issue.
    But we want to avoid manual intervention after import in Integartion and Productive systems.
    We find the note 1854719 about this issue and BW authorization but it doesn't correct anything.
    Do you have an idea how to fix it ?

    I am not sure i understand the work flow, what do you mean by "When we import DS dataflows in Integration system, we have this error message for all
    BW datasources we try to load"
    Do you mean upload generated data flow?
    Can you provide screenshots ?

  • How MES is effected with BTO,BTS,CTO and ETO manufacturing scenarios.

    Does MES really gets impacted with following different manufacturing styles like BTO(Build to Order),BTS(Build to Stock),CTO(Configure to Order),ETO(Engineering to Order)...Whether SAP ME(different/latest versions) handles its separately if the production is happening as per BTO,BTS,CTO,ETO scenario.

    Master data:
    Master data detail is transferred from SAP R/3 to SAP ME, data such as material master, BOM, routing, Production order is transferred from r/3 to SAP ME thru IDOC/BAPI
    Transaction data:
    Real time data is Collected from the SCADA or  from controller is send to SAP ME, From SAP ME, the data is transferred to R/3 by using BAPI/IDOC
    separately if the production is happening as per BTO,BTS,CTO, ETO scenario
    while transferring the prdn order from R/3 you can also send infrm such as Customer/project

    What is the approach if we want MDM with EP as front end, consider if we need to have Vendor, Customer or Material master with EP as front end and with Create,  Change and Delete options and with workflow capability and what is the process, Do SAP provides standard out of box solution.

    Hi Vickey,
    You can use the SAP EP as the front end and SAP MDM as the backend if you want to facilitate the Material,Customer and Vendor creation form EP in to SAP MDM.
    All you need to do is integarte these 2 systems and you can use the standard MDM iviews in portal to connect and use the MDM functionality in EP like  Create,Modify,Delete etc..
    You can also use the MDM workflows as designed in the MDM backend and called on the Portal front end by using the UWL in EP.
    Most of these are standard connections however if you want some additional functionalities which MDM does not provide you can use EP customization for it.

    Our company is developing a software product, which is expected to sell third-party organizations.
    We use ASP.NET, the server applications - MS IIS, RDBMS - MS SQL Server 2005.
    1 reports developer
    near 10000 users, which can view, schedule, run reports
    concurrent access - 1-250
    We want to embed CR in program
    This is requirements:
    -- Reports should be displayed in the browser, IE 6.0
    -- Reports should be designed in the pre-packaged format (known header, footer, consisting of fields)
    -- Reports should be called by users from the program without moving to other applications.
    -- The user should be able to enter the conditions include information in the report (data for such a period, data on such a position-classifier, etc.)
    -- Authority should be able to refine existing reporting formats, or to develop and connect to the new reports.
    So, this is my questions:
    -- Which version of Crystal Reports we need to buy
            -- To work on embedding CR to our program,
            -- To develop records
            --  Display reports in the browser?

  • Idoc not appearing in Xi system

    Hi experts,
    I have developed a idoc to file scnario but the idoc trgerred in the ECC system i snot comming to XI. I have done all the setting IDX1 and IDX2 and partner profile settings in ECC. the idoc status is 03 in ECC which says the idoc is sent to port successfully, but it is not appearing in SXMB_MONI in XI.  It used to work earlier. Is there any batch job or peogram does this transfer. what do i check?/

    Add the Logical System of SAP R/3 in Integration Directory as shown in the Blog and check Now
    The specified item was not found.
    And also check these Disscussions
    No service for system in Integration Directory
    No Service for System XYZ,Client 300 in Integartion Directory

    Integration process (IP) refers to BPM. you will find the IP in the ccBPM, Business Process Management.
    An integration process is an executable, cross-system process for processing messages.
    Process Integration(PI), Now Xi is known as Process Integration PI is a term that is used to in  the Integration Broker of the NetWeaver Architecture.

    Hi Govind,
    In SAP Retail system, the options for creating plant from configuration is disabled. Means in SPRO screen, the execute button is not there for these options. So you will not be able to create plant through configuration in SAP Retail system where the retail switch is activated.
    All the Retail related features will not support that plants.
    To the best of my knowledge, Site created in Retail system using WB01 transactions can be used for production cycle to implement manufacturing scenario. Using article to article stock transfer you can transfer the stock of Finished Goods articles to trading articles and so on.
    Various processes are available for this.

  • Error in XI: INTERNAL.SYSTEM_NOT_CONFIGURED_AS_XMB System not c

    When I run program UKM_TRANSFER_ITEMS it throws the following error. I suspect from the error message it is related to XI but I don't know what it means. Does anybody know?
    Message number is UKM_PI008

    run transaction SXMB_ADM
    choose option as "Integration Engin Configuration"
    then Edit > Change Global configuration Data"
    and choose "Application System" as a Role of Business System.
    & corresponding integartion server as "http://ipaddr:httpServicePort/sap/xi/engine?type=entry"

  • PISUPER not able to create business systems

    Dear All,
    I am trying to create business systems in ID using PISUPER by importing from SLD. However, I keep getting a warning message saying 'Insufficient authorisation to create communication component'.
    I check for all the required roles for PISUPER and they exist.
    When I checked the J2EE logs, i can see the below error:
    Context does not exist session id=com.sap.engine.session.exec.UserContextImpl@254ea7b6[ clientId=null, clientSessions=[], persistent Model=null]
    Location: com.sap.conn.jco
    Please could someone help me to resolve this.

    check if you have USERS: PIDIRUSER & PIREPUSER
    with Roles:
    SAP_XI_ID_SERV_USER
    SAP_XI_MONITOR_J2EE
    And User Type must be service.
    Also check Users are not locked.  
    also check if everything is fine with user SAPJSF...
    (TCP/IP) LCRSAPRFC should point to correct Integration Server.  Also the Program ID should be registered in the JCO connections of Integartion server with user SAPJSF.

    We are currently using EHP4 of ECC and upgraded our SRM system from 5.0 to EHP1.
    What is the min version reqt for integration SRM 7.0 EHP1 with ECC??
    I read somehere that SRM 7.0 EHP1 cannot be integarted with ECC lower than EHP5?can someone confirm?

    It is recommended to have SRM 7.01 with ECC EHP4 (at least) to get the maximum advantage of integration part of SRM and ECC system. With these combination, you can create central contract via ESOA services and distribute the contract to R/3 backend system.
    -->By SRM 7.0 .1 do you mean SRM 7.0 EHP1?
    Can you also confirm if all features of ECC EHP4 are part of EHP5?(EHP4 is subset of EHP5)
    We are currently on  SRM 7.0 and are planning to upgrade to EHP1.However on the ECC side,we have all business functions needed in both EHP4 and EHP5.Considering this,would it be advisable to anyways upgrade SRM to EHP1?
    Also by upgrading to EHP1,my undesratanding is that we only activate the scenario specific switches in the system..is that true?
    Please advise.

    How Could we connect and do reporting in BO from SAP system without installing SAP INTEGARTION KIT ??
    Like we could read data from Oracle by simply creating a Oracle connection in Desiger and all the tables are visible at universe level.
    Do we have any such metod where SAP INTEGRATION KIT NOT comes into picture. and we could either read SAP tables or cube at Designer level or at reportr level.
    DO We have any Guide or document or way were we would not use SAP INETGRATION KIT .

  • Raising an Alert ,when the Legacy system is down

    Hi,
      I want to raise an Alert or some thing when my Source Legacy system is down.
    My scenario is  File -to - IDOC .  I'm getting all the XML files from the FTP server. so, My source system is FTP srever . Due to network problem or some other problem  my FTP server is  getting down very frequently. Now i want to send this information to respected persons in a automated way.
    Is there any option that know  the Legacy server status , How can we  know that FTP server is down .
    Please suggest me some solution for this type of prblems.

    You can use BPM and check whether the system is up or nt (using the Connection FM STFC_CONNECTION )
    In case of system errors and application errors you can use alerts.
    System error: Runtime errors, mapping errors , application system is down, Adapter engine is down etc....
    application error: If you are checking some validations , if they fails you can throw alerts.
    For application errors you use BPM.
    You can raise alerts if mapping, receiver determination etc.. fails in the integartion engine. You need to configure alert rules for this. You can go to RWB->Alert Configuration->Where did the error occur? choose integration engine and you can see different error categories and error codes which can be configured using alert rules. Refer this michal's weblog for configuring the same..

    Currently alerts for Adapter framework errors are not supported.
    You can also raise an alerts from BPM for any mapping failures, send step system errors/application errors using fault messages (through exception branch).
