Raising an Alert ,when the Legacy system is down

Hi,
I want to raise an Alert or some thing when my Source Legacy system is down.
My scenario is File -to - IDOC . I'm getting all the XML files from the FTP server. so, My source system is FTP srever . Due to network problem or some other problem my FTP server is getting down very frequently. Now i want to send this information to respected persons in a automated way.
Is there any option that know the Legacy server status , How can we know that FTP server is down .
Please suggest me some solution for this type of prblems.

You can use BPM and check whether the system is up or nt (using the Connection FM STFC_CONNECTION )
In case of system errors and application errors you can use alerts.
System error: Runtime errors, mapping errors , application system is down, Adapter engine is down etc....
application error: If you are checking some validations , if they fails you can throw alerts.
For application errors you use BPM.
You can raise alerts if mapping, receiver determination etc.. fails in the integartion engine. You need to configure alert rules for this. You can go to RWB->Alert Configuration->Where did the error occur? choose integration engine and you can see different error categories and error codes which can be configured using alert rules. Currently alerts for Adapter framework errors are not supported.
You can also raise an alerts from BPM for any mapping failures, send step system errors/application errors using fault messages (through exception branch).

Sergio,
in 12.0 there are no out of the box buffering capabilities for Web Services. You may use the MII Queueing actions to queue the xml contents you want to sent. Schedule a job to read the queue entries and send them to the web service. If the call was successful, delete the queue entry, else leave it.

For SAP calls using JRA, you can switch on the buffering, as well as for MII queries. If a call fails, MII will buffer it. You can check the entries in MII Data Services > Data buffer entries. Scheduled jobs can resend the entries.

you can trigger alert for any of the component failure.
for this u nees the ccms configuration.
than you need to configure in RZ20 and RZ21.
steps.
1. create alert category in ALRTCATDEF
2.enter long text
3. add fixed recepient.
4.go to RZ21.
5. select display overview for method
6. serch for method CCMS_Send_Alert_to_ALM.
7. copy the method and create ur own Z method.
8. open ur method.
9. under control tab select ONLY IN CENTRAL SYSTEM TRIGGERED BY CCMS AGENTS.
10. in parameter tab give ur alert cat created before.
11.under release tab select AUTO REACTION METHOD.
12. go to RZ20.
13. a list of system will be displyed select ur own xi system
14. now select the queue name for which u want to trigger alert.
15.goto property button and double click.
16. go to method tab and click on method assigment.
17. goto method radio button and assigne the method u created in RZ21.
done.....enjoy....

Alert when the load on the system exceeds threshold

hi there!
I am trying to get alert when the load on the system
exceeds certain threshold value.
Load is calculated as the function of
CPU_utlisation,Memory_utlised,time monitored.
So i need to get the CPU_utlisation and memory utlisation
values first for calculating the load and then I check
with the threshold and then have to alert.

To get this kind of system information, you'll have to interface with your OS like executing an OS command using java.lang.Runtime, or using JNI. Java doesn't have anything for this in its standard libraries.
Note that your program won't be platform independent anymore when you use OS features.

Connect the computer to another Mac and put it in FireWire Target Disk mode, or use the Disk Utility to clone the drive or image specific folders with the USB drive as the target. After you've copied off everything you want, you'll likely need to erase the drive and reinstall the applications.

Hi Sunil,
when R/3 system is down the BW daily loads & weekly loads will fail.
the best solution is you can reschedule the job when R/3 is Up.
You can cancel the running jobs by going through
SM37 -- > select that particular job --> JOB (in menu bar) --> select released --> schedule option.

My requirement is whenever the Messaging Brdige goes down or goes into Inactive state, i wanted an alert / notification to be generated so that some action can be taken

Thank you for the note. but this feature is available from 7.3 SP13 but we are on 7.3 SP4.and it is very difficult to upgrade to SP13.
For us the webmethods will place the messages in their queue and PI pick those messages using the Sender JMS channel with following configuration,
transport protocol:Access JMS provider Generically
Message protocol:JMS1.X
Is there any other solution to trigger an alert when the thread is hung? Also is it possible to auto referesh a channel?

the data is to be transferred and function modules to be invoked are temporarily stored in tables ARFCSSTATE and ARFCSDATA. once the receiving system is ready , the entried in these tables wiil be deleted.

If I understand your question correctly, you wish to know the GRC 5.3 RAR tables that contains the authorization information and want to connect a legacy system.
If you check the /VIRSA/* tables, you can find all the GRC related tables.

Problem solved. I tore the phone down and did another, the third one, liquid repair and clean on it and to my surprise it fired right up with absolutely no signs of damage and all functions working perfectly.

What all recovery options we have in XI if the target system is down for very long time
in async scenario ??
-> Can we configure any alerts which will send mails with the failed message details if the
   target system is dowm for very long time.
   If this is possible, will there be any links in that mail which will allow the
   alert mail receiver to 'resend' the failed message once the target system is up ?
We are on nw2004s SP9.

Yes we can send Alters from XI . let clarify one thing here alters are triggred immedaitely when their any failure in Adapter or mapping or etc then immdeaitely it is sendt so theirt is no such things for this "details if the target system is dowm for very long time". it does not differencate it long or short.

We want to prevent the JButton from generating multi actions just one action only
A sample of code shows the behaviour which has to be prevented. Continue pressing "Alt +O" and you will see the standard ouptput will print time stamps
Please notice, I am NOT interested in Mouse press which has a solution by adding a threshold ( setMultiClickThreshhold(long threshhold) on the JButton as an attribute.

That setting only works for system sounds like push notifications (emails and the like), some game sounds, keyboard clicks and things like that. If you want to mute all sounds you still have to turn the volume all the way down with the volume switch.
