Integrated security using filtered views in CRM2011
I had published a report in report manager and referenced it by using java in a iframe on an entity in CRM 2011. Someone helped me write the java and I am not sure how he configured the properties page of the datasource in report manager.
I changed my password the other day and now the report does not run so I presume he embeded my user name and password into the report.
I am now not sure how to set up that properties on the data source.
I can use a shared date source (which is integrated) or a custome data source and have tried using the connect using options in various ways - sometimes the report in the Iframe ask for my user name and password and sometimes it says that it cannot create
a connection to data source - login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'
I would really appreciate some advice here and obviously I do not want to embed my user name and password in the report as we have to change passwords frequently. If I did not use the filtered views I would not have this problem but best practice dictates
in my company so I have no option.

Hi julesoutthere,
Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.
Sorry for that I didn’t find the information which is related to the VS IDE, would you mind letting us know more information about this issue?
You said that it is related to “a report in report manager”? Is it related to the SSRS or the report control?

Viewing a report using integrated security for connection to database
PLEASE HELP!!
I am able to connect to an SQL Server 2008 database from the Crystal Reports Designer using integrated security and can succesfully load the database to create my report with. I provide the following parameters at connection;
Connection string = jdbc:sqlserver://<hostname>:1433;databaseName=<dbname>;integratedSecurity=true
Driver = com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
HOWEVER, I do not know/cannot find how to then access the report using JRC in a JSP Web Viewer for Crystal Reports.
Any ideas experts??
Regards
Nick HirstI'm having this same issue, but from the desktop app side. Did you ever find a solution?

Using [TODAY] in filtered views
The instructions under the filter section in Edit View clearly states; "Show all of the items in this view, or display a subset of the items by using filters. To filter on a column based on the current date or the current user of the site, type
[Today] or [Me] as the column value...". However when I use [Today] as my filter value, I received the following error message: "Filter Value is not a supported date format" My date fields are all set up
as date only, and I am assuming that [Today] also is set up as date only. Did something change in SharePoint 2010 that won't accept [today] as a filter value?Hi. There is no other column called "Today". I created the "My Today" solution simply because the directions within the view indicate that I should use [Today]. I am not including the "=" sign. I am simply trying to filter my view where a specific
date is equal to [Today]. The error message I get says something to the effect of the format of [Today] is not compatible with the filter. Is it possible that [Today] includes both date and time? My field is set up to display date only. -
Hi to All!
I have a simple question. I connect to DataBase programmatically, using SqlConnection and Integrated Security in connection string. It works! But I cannot understand - which account credentials are used? My Windows account(under which I was logged
in) or NetworkService Account, or something else?
If I was logged in as FBA user in SharePoint - what in this case?Hi MaryBath,
When you use integrated security = true it means the same as integrated security = SSPI and in this case the current Windows account credentials are used for authentication and if you set the integrated
security = false you have to provide UserName and Password . so for your question it uses the current windows account credentials.
here is the Microsoft link for the same...
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.sqlclient.sqlconnection.connectionstring(VS.71).aspx
If your code is executing on server in SharePoint (in webparts or features or application page). it will take the windows account of the server to connect to the database because all are executing on server not on client machine. your
login credentials has nothing to do with it.
Note: there are 2 authentication Windows Authentication and SQL Authentication so make sure that on database windows authentication is enabled (it will only work when windows authentication is enabled....

Using integrated security to access SQL Server database
Hi,
Currently we are using username/password combination to log in to a SQL Server database. These varaiables are defined as environment variables.
For security reasons we now want to use integrated security of the SQL Server database. This way the connection will be with the NTUser the Nodemanager has been started with.
Can this be done in Fort?I do not think there is a way to pass the NT user's security authentication over to the DB in UDS.

Error When Filtering View as Contribute User
Hello everyone,
I have a list that just went past the view threshold of 5k items, and this list contains a view with filter showing the items from the last 90 days. The problem we're experiencing is that if a user with Contribute access tries to filter the view from one
of the columns, the first filter works fine, but when a second filter is applied, a correlation ID message comes up. This doesn't happen for Site Collection Admins.
Shouldn't views not returning the number of items set in the threshold be able to be filtered regardless?
Thanks
Fausto Capellan, Jr - SharePoint AdminHi Krishana,
Thank you for your response. I am well aware of everything you mentioned above. My issue is that if the view already has a filter just to show the items from either the last 30 or 90 days, users should still be able to apply multiple filters directly from
a view column. This is what I see in the logs:

Update:
IIS is7.5, AppPool is Integrated.
I have tried below, none of them works:
1) Add it only to system.web\httpHanders. Changed AppPool to classic, still got hidden error.
2) Add it only to system.webServer\handlers. Integrated mode, still got hidden error.
3) Add both to both element. Integrated mode, still got hidden error.Hi Kingofwebguru,
According to your description, when you use reportviewer control, you got the error message: The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file.
To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
Click Start, click Run, then type InetMgr.exe and click OK.
Click plus sign next to server name to expand it.
Click Application Pools in left pane.
In Application Pools list, click DefaultAppPool.
In the Actions pane, in Edit Application Pool section, click Edit Settings to check the Pipeline mode.
Configuration settings for the HTTP handlers are specified in the system.web/httpHandlers element and the system.webServer/handlers element. of your application Web.config file. The handler specified in system.web/httpHandler is used by Internet Information
Services (IIS) 6.0 or IIS 7.0 in Classic mode, whereas the handler specified in system.webServer/handlers is used by IIS 7.0 in Integrated mode. To use IIS 7.0 in Integrated mode, you must remove the HTTP handler in system.web/httpHandlers. Otherwise, IIS
will not run the application, but will display an error message instead.
For more information about Web.config Settings for ReportViewer, please refer to the following document:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms251661.aspx

Integrated Security for Database
How I can use integrated security database information for crystal server?
I designed few reports using SQL Server and integrated security, I'm able to view and execute reports in Crystal Designer but I couldn't found any way to setup database information using integrated security in Crystal Server XI.
Can someone help?
Regards,
parvYou will need to save the report to the server after selecting the trusted connection.
then on the server insure that an ODBC trusted connection exists as well (should be able to test from CR on the server if it's installed)
finally in the CMC report properties > process > database you must select "Use same database logon as when report is run" and enter the AD username and password to be used for the report.
If you would like a more dynamic solution where the actual user credentials are sent to the DB look up SSO to the DB in our admin guides and white papers on the business objects XIR2 articles section. This can also be achieved by setting up kerberos delegation.
Regards,
Tim -
I just got Windows 7 and have been having problems since loading it. Most of my drivers only go to Vista and don't recognize 7.
I have trying to download some manuals from their website
and keep getting this message; Adobe Acrobat/reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in Web Browser.Could I suggest a workaround for PDFs until a solution is posted? Open them directly in the Adobe application rather than in a browser tab.
In your Adobe application(s), go to:
Edit > Preferences > Internet
Then uncheck "Display PDF in browser"
(There are very few sites where having PDF integrated is really beneficial.) -
Error while creating folder named "bin" using explorer view in sharepoint 2010
I am getting error when I create a folder in a library named "bin" using explorer view in sharepoint 2010.
When I create folders with other names I don't get any errors.
Please suggest.Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an
error when you create a folder named “bin” in a SharePoint library with explorer view.
There are any Microsoft.NET Framework assemblies that have controls or parts that the SharePoint site uses, which are stored in the bin folder. You can remove “bin” from hidden segments, then you can create a folder named “bin”
in the SharePoint library with explorer view.
1.Opened IIS Manager and selected Server name -> Request Filtering -> Hidden Segments tab -> Removed "bin" from there:
2.Perform IISRESET:

Error entering data in a data form using Smart View
One of my user is facing an issue while entering data in a data form through Excel, if she uses the same data form in workspace she is able to enter data. She is facing the issue while entering in a specific column, for all other columns she is able to enter data in the data form. It is only one column for which she is facing issue while using smart view/excel and not workspace, as in workspace she is able to enter data.
Thanks,Hi
Check they have the "Data Form Write Back from Excel" role in Shared Services.

Best regards / BenHi Ben,
How did you design the filter on the view?
This error usually occurred when people use SQL T-SQL. Here are two similar posts , please check whether they are useful for you:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/e1ba76f9-855f-4087-91a7-c3e492e59be4/conversion-failed-when-converting-the-nvarchar-value-xxxxxx-to-data-type-int?forum=transactsql

Please create a new list, and create a new view, then add a filter on the view, compare the result.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Wendy

Hello, I have a sql 2005 server, and I am a developer, with the database on my own machine. It alwayws works for me but after some minutes the other developer cant work in the application
He got this error
Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. [CLIENT: 192.168.1.140]
and When I see the log event after that error, it comes with another error.
SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed. [CLIENT: 192.168.1.140]
He has IIS5 and me too.
I created a user on the domain called ASPSYS with password, then in the IIS on anonymous authentication I put that user with that password, and it works, on both machines.
and in the connection string I have.
<add key="sqlconn" value="Data Source=ESTACION15;Initial Catalog=GescomDefinitiva;Integrated Security=SSPI; Trusted_Connection=true"/>
I go to the profiler, and I see that when he browses a page, the database is accesed with user ASPSYS, but when I browse a page, the database is accesed with user SE\levalencia.
Thats strange.
The only way that the other developer can work again on the project is to restart the whole machine. He has windows xp profession, I have windows 2000.
If you want me to send logs please tellmeWell here's my problem, maybe you can help. Intermittenly I get a login failed when connecting to a db engine through Server Management Studio using Windows authentication. When this happens the following entries are generated on the server's application event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSSQLSERVER
Event Category: (4)
Event ID: 17806
Date: 1/14/2009
Time: 10:41:31 AM
User: N/A
Computer: <server name>
Description:
SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed. [CLIENT: <ip address>]
Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: MSSQLSERVER
Event Category: (4)
Event ID: 18452
Date: 1/14/2009
Time: 10:41:31 AM
User: N/A
Computer: <server name>
Description:
Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. [CLIENT: <ip address>]
I've already ensured that the server is set to mixed authentication mode. Oddly enough, the workaround that I've found is that if I remote desktop into the server, log in and then log back out, Management Studio is suddenly able to connect again. No idea why it works.
As I said before, it is intermitten. Some days it errors on login, other days it doesn't and there are no configuration changes between them. Also, both client and server are in the same domain and same site so there is no VPN or anything in between. I'm really quite stumped. Any help would be great, or if you can point me in the right direction of where to look. Thank you in advance! -
How to implement row level security using external tables
Hi All Gurus/ Masters,
I want to implement row level security using external tables, as I'm not sure how to implement that. and I'm aware of using it by RPD level authentication.
I can use a filter condition in my user level so that he can access his data only.
But when i have 4 tables in external tables
users
groups
usergroups
webgrups
Then in which table I need to give the filter conditions..
Pl let me know this ...You pull the Group into a repository variable using a session variable init block, then reference that variable in the data filters either in the LTS directly or in the security management as Filters. You reference it with the syntax VALUEOF("NQ_SESSION.Variable Name")
Hope this helps -
Use of view in database.
What is the use of view? What is the difference between table and view?
Your best bet is to review the [concepts guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/toc.htm] for the answer:
ViewsViews are customized presentations of data in one or more tables or other views. A view can also be considered a stored query. Views do not actually contain data. Rather, they derive their data from the tables on which they are based, referred to as the base tables of the views.
Like tables, views can be queried, updated, inserted into, and deleted from, with some restrictions. All operations performed on a view actually affect the base tables of the view.
Views provide an additional level of table security by restricting access to a predetermined set of rows and columns of a table. They also hide data complexity and store complex queries.>
TablesTables are the basic unit of data storage in an Oracle database. Database tables hold all user-accessible data. Each table has columns and rows. A table that has an employee database, for example, can have a column called employee number, and each row in that column is an employee's number.
